"How do you fuck up a hot dog?" This is the first time I've ever asked myself this question. The kitchen staff at The Boot certainly has the answer - by serving it luke warm on a soggy bun, that's how. Cold hot dogs are disgusting. I won't eat at Das Boot again. But in fairness, our waitress was excellent - she was attentive and friendly. This is the only reason I'm rating 2 stars. The Boot is fine for drinks. But don't order eats with the expectation of anything more than really, really shitty bar food. read more

Had an extremely disappointing evening here last night. When you spend $35 for prime rib and two sides, you would expect them to be of reasonable quality. Sadly, that was not the case. The prime rib, which I ordered medium rare, came out cold, tough, and well done--an unappealing shade of gray. The sides were also cold, and the mashed potatoes were covered in gray despite ordering them with no gravy. I was told the manager was busy, so I requested a manager or owner call me the next day. I have heard nothing since. I have enjoyed this restaurant in the past, but will avoid it in the future. There is no excuse for expensive meals consisting of bad food poorly made. read more

A solid four stars for The Boot. My mom and I walked here from the hotel across the street for a night of food and drink. We started with the seared ahi and each got a baked potato and side of grilled asparagus. The burgers looked good but we didn't think we were that hungry. We finished that and decided we were still hungry after all, so we got the nachos and quickly moved on to the coffee ice cream dessert. All the food was good but not great. They didn't have a beer or wine menu to look at, which was frustrating because I'm incredibly indecisive and love to try random things. They had live music when we were there, which was fun. As we were leaving we saw there was a patio upstairs that wasn't offered as an option, maybe it's by request only? If it is, then be sure to request it- there was even a fire pit! Overall, food was exactly what you would expect, but what really set it apart was the service!! Our server was named Farrah and took such good care of us! We were difficult customers that night and she took it in stride. Shoutout to her for great customer service, and the only reason this place got 4 stars instead of 3. read more

Went here for dinner. It was a Wednesday so we expected for it to be slow and able to get food quickly and that was the case. I got the burrito which was okay. Not great but not terrible either. Basic bar food. One thing I did like was the side of fries (even though the burrito was so much food and fries weren't necessary) was huge! I tried one and they weren't bad but my fiancé ate them with his meal and he liked them. He ended up having the nachos and just like the burrito it was okay. This is a good place to go if you're just looking for a good hangout. Happy hour (3-6pm) prices were reasonable and pair well with the food. The service was fine. Nothing great but she got us water and beer and food in a reasonable amount of time and was good about asking if we wanted more water or beer. We would come back and will be back here. It was a good fast dinner which was just what we wanted after working all day! The only reason for the three stars was that everything was average. No need to drive if staying at the holiday inn. Because its across the street and not down it like navigation says. Fairly cheap place to go. Very big beers in a mug. Decent food that won't leave you hungry. Menu is simple and small, but has everything you could want. The decor is kind of plain. Basic white walls with sparing decorations of cowboy clothes and tools. Definitely not over decorated like applebees. I don't really want to give this place 3 stars, but I don't feel it was worth 4. What a shame. Its obvious someone put alot into this place but forgot that food quality still counts. Went there on fathers day and they didn't even have a special. Asked the waitress if the chix fried steak was handbreaded and was told that it was. Its not. Its came from a frozen box and tasted horrible. Food including appetizer took 45 minutes and was cold cold cold. We could see food in the kitchen that sat there over 30 minutes and still was served. The salmon came out cold and undercooked. The cook tried to offer to reheat the dish, which would be fine if I could in eat the undercooked fish. He assured me that it was indeed cooked, but clearly it was not. It was very gooey in the middle. Then he told me not to worry because even if it was undercooked, that's just what sushi or sashimi is. The difference being quality and grade and handling guidelines. This salmon just tasted like it had been frozen and the middle did not cook evenly because of it. The fact that it was undercooked can't be undone since I've already eaten part of it. Hopefully I don't get sick. The server was nice and I appreciate that they wanted to "get it right" but seriously! Undercooked fish is disgusting. Very gross! read more

Unbelievably BAD service! 1pm on Sunday with only 5 other tables occupied and 5 people at the bar with 2 servers, 2 bartenders and a hostess and 25 minutes of sitting at our table we were unable to get ANY service. We have been to the Boot Grill twice now, the food is excellent. Both times we tried something different on the menu and both times the food was great! Our first visit there, we sat in the bar area, the service was great as well as the food, they have some great Monday night football specials and we knew we would be back. The second visit we sat outside in the upper balcony area, it was a Friday night and they were very busy. The service was not so great that time, we had a party of 6 and we all had to wait on drinks for quite some time. Once we received our drinks, the waitress would come back and ask if we needed refills, but then would disappear and not be back for at least 20 min's. When she did come back , she asked again if we needed refills and we told her we did last time. I think once the management gets some good staff in there and they work the kinks out, it will be an awesome experience every time! But, the food is good, they give you alot of food and it is well worth the money and time spent! Get me better service and you will have a 5 star rating from me! read more

The food and service was awful. The salad was a pile of greens, the baked potatoe was hard, asked for loaded and they didn't put any sour cream on it. The salmon was a piece of frozen slab which they tried to grill. The waitress was no where to be found. My dish had 3 pieces of french fry which I did not order. No presentation at all. This is located close to my house so very convenient for that Friday afternoon happy hour. After a couple visits my opinion rests firmly in 3-stars. I've only been on the bar side but it's got good atmosphere, live music and dancing on Friday (and Saturday?) nights. Two experiences with service - one good, one not-so-good. The first time our cocktail waitress was prompt, efficient, not overly attendant but also never let us go with empty glasses. The menu here seems as you might expect - burgers (all sound good), a few salads. I had the southwestern wrap - loved that I could get the low-carb tortilla but very disappointed in the side. Had the asparagus and if I'd known I was paying $1/piece for two stalks of underdone, under-seasoned greenery I'd have gone without. Wrap was tasty though! The second time service I watched two bartenders and a manager walk by a patron at the bar top without even ACKNOWLEDGING him. Granted, I've worked in that atmosphere. You get busy, you can't help everyone at once. But for three separate people to walk by in a bar not even half full and never even looked his way - shameful. Needless to say he walked out, I would've too. A great stop for atmosphere and happy hour, just don't be expecting to get top-of-the-line service all the time and know that you're getting a 3-star culinary experience. I was generally disappointed. The food was OK - both our steaks were cooked as we requested, and my wife's pepper steak was tasty. My ribeye was fine, but a little lacking in flavor. Our daughter's mac and cheese strongly resembled Kraft, but she enjoyed it and really liked the cotton candy she got for dessert (included in her meal). Alcohol was a different story - the beer selection was pretty poor, which is especially disappointing given the number of local breweries. My wife's mixed drink was nearly undrinkable. The vodka appeared to be low quality, as were the mixers. The place is new and clean, and has a much larger bar area than dining area. I would rate the service as slightly below average for the area; the waitress appeared overworked. We had 10 people. Not one of them liked their meal. The basic burgers were ok. The green chili burger was odd (shredded carrots?), and the prime rib sandwich looked fake and didin't taste any better. The fish and chips were three very tiny slivers of fish (tasty, though). They couldn't add beans to the nachos for the vegetarian in our group, even though they use beans in the burrito; the server explained that they're premixed with the burrito fillings. The fries weren't at all crisp, and even the kid's chicken nuggets tasted off. The side of green beans were clearly from a can and thoroughly unappetizing. That last bit was one member of the group trying to find something healthy on the menu; vegetables are few and far between. Service-wise, the servers were very friendly. Unfortunately, they brought out two peoples meal over 5 minutes before everyone else's, so they were nearly done eating when the rest arrived (tiny pieces of fish, you'll recall). Our ketchup was empty, as was the one at the next table that we subbed it for when we couldn't find a server (they eventually brought a full one). To get to the restrooms, children walk through the bar. Note that this was not a group of foodies, but an extended family that frequently dines regularly at the comparable casual-chain-style restaurants that are so abundant in the area. I don't recall them ever speaking badly about a place, but we all agreed as soon as we left that we'd never go back. Drafted beer was flat. Server slow on check-back and asking for drink refills. The food was good though. I've been in restaurant biz for years and know how it should be done. Your competition is doing a much better job. Just realized we got charged more for our food than menu listed! When I called, I was told that menu had "daily specials" and not for today's meal. I arrived at the Boot Grill in search for a good chicken fried steak. I found a great one at the Boot. Steak, spuds, & gravy are all great. I was also surprised when my salad arrived -- three kinds of lettuce & tasty croutons. Ranch dressing (what else at The Boot?). The Boot was extremely busy, but the staff was excellent. I will no longer go to the Boot Grill in Loveland. Average food. Horrible service. Many issues but the latest development: Ate lunch 8/1/2011 from 11:30-12:15 (I mention that in case the manager can be identified through someone reading this - didn't get her name). Waitress spilled entire large cup of soda on my friend & co-worker. We understand accidents happen and harbor nothing personal towards her. However, the waitress barely helped and immediately went about working with another table (they got their drinks before my friend got a replacement drink). We were charged for everything - figured at least the drink could come off the ticket. Moreover, the manager provided an excuse that the waitress was new and already allowed (ALLOWED) us to use a valid coupon. She (manager), in a snotty tone, said she is not comfortable providing anything more than an apology. We weren't looking to take advantage, no one was upset or raised their voice; we deserved more acknowledgement of responsibility. My co-worker was left soaked, sticky and had to waste her time and that of the business in order to go home and clean up. All we got was attitude. Prior to that, I witnessed twice waitresses keeping back change due to the customer. The excuse was they (under manager's rule) do not give back coins because customers usually don't want them. Its not your money!!!! I don't take lightly providing negative feedback. Especially since I've had friends and family in the industry; its a tough job. But some people take me to the edge. Giving 2 stars because the food was good and our server, Mariah was good. Not all over it, but I suspect because she was probably also helping in the kitchen. She seemed to be doing the best she could and she was very pleasant. On a lunch meeting, we were on somewhat of a time crunch. Waited at the hostess station for some time before anyone came to seat us. The person who sat us seemed very flustered and unhappy to be there. It was pretty apparent that they were understaffed. Who I assume was the manager was running food and was not the least bid friendly. We arrived at 12:39, were sat @ 12:45. Ordered within a normal amount of time, but the food took about 45 minutes to get to us. We ate quick and got back to work. I doubt I will go back, not because they were understaffed and the food took so long to get out, but because the manager just didn't seem to care. He delivered our food and he didn't hide the fact that he didn't seem to want to be there. read more

I have been to the Boot a few times as I am working in the area and stayed at the hotel adjacent to it. As far as weekday nightlife, I would stay go elsewhere. The bar is pretty dead during the week. I can't speak to weekends though. The food is fair, not great. I have had the chicken fried steak, a burger and a few other things and they were average. Portion size was not impressive. The grilled asparagus side ( I love asparagus ) was undercooked and woody, the spears are too large and tough, beyond their days. The staff was pleasant and took care of my needs. The food prices were pretty good. Given the competition in the area, they will definately have to step up their game to survive long term. read more

Overall this place was pretty good. I was way impressed with their level of customer service over the food itself. We went for a late lunch on Sunday and the roof patio was closed. We ask if it would be possible to sit up there and they opened it up just for us! The food was typical American gill fare. Burgers, sandwiches, tex-mex nachos, fires, etc. I did really enjoy the fried pickle app but my chicken sandwich was just meh. Our server was great, she made the trip up to the roof top several times just to check on us and never looked annoyed even though we wouldn't have blamed her. I will be back! read more
