But the crawfish were great and the atmosphere is perfect when it's nice out. The patio area fits plenty of people. I ordered 3 pounds of crawfish, potatoes, sausage, remoulade and drawn butter. I received 3 pounds of crawfish, a sausage link, potatoes and butter. When I asked about my remoulade, the server rush off to get me one. I received it about 30 minutes later. read more

Been there 4 times and am yet to have a good experience, so I think I'm giving up. (All 4 times on a beautiful day during crawfish season, so, I get that it's gonna be busy) Wish they would just hire some folks to wait tables during peak season instead of 2 bartenders taking 2 customers at a time at the bar. Yep, rough math- its about 2 customers (of at least 150-200) every 5 minutes. Wait in line for drinks, 20 mins. Wait in line for food, 35 mins. Wait for crawfish, 62 mins. (Which is about standard for the times I've been.) To add insult to injury, not great. Definitely not worth the wait. Sorry, Boot. By far the best crawfish I've had in Houston. I prefer a crawfish that the boil is seasoned vs saucing them all up and let me tell ya!!! They didn't disappoint. My daughter ask me to meet a group of her and her friends here on Fat Tuesday. They had a live band and we were ordering lots of drinks and crawfish. One of my daughters friends (non black) went back to the bar to order more crawfish. She was then asked by who we know now is the owners wife if she was with the group of "black people who keeps ordering the Mexican Candy shots"? When she came back to the table she was confused and upset. Why couldn't we have just been the table ordering the Mexican Candy shots? Why did it even matter she wasn't ordering shots she was ordering crawfish. They deliver the crawfish to the table with a number. If she was ordering shots you don't deliver the drinks to the table so there was no need to identity the group of people? These are the type of unconscious biases that black people experience all the time. We can't go out and have a good time without people like this making reference to our race. The Boot's owner decided to exercise a subtle form of racism and needless to say we won't be coming back. That may be just what they want tho. Went out to this place for Patty's days. Some Caucasian male (I think bouncer/door guy) "assumed" I was just in there to just use the restroom and shouted "This isn't a public restroom". Keep in mind, I was walking in the direction of the bar fully intending to buy a drink. I told him my intentions to buy a drink and the guy got aggressive and asked if I had a "F*cking Problem". My friend and I came here during their Happy Hour (until 7pm) on Thursday. We got 75 cents off each of our beers, so that came out to be $4 a beer. Such a steallllllllllll......... Haaaaa. We also ordered their crawfish and OMGOSH, its so delicious. Crawfish was boiled perfectly and seasoned just right. Just like back home in Lafayette. Their house sauce was a little too much mayo for me. I like more ketchup and a little kick of spice to it. Corn, potato, and sausage are extra. Crawfish was $7/lb with a 2 lb minimum. Went there tonight and almost left in a brawl with some imbeciles. First off, the service was awful. I'm still shocked. I told random people at 2 different other establishments in the area about my shitty experience and at BOTH places they had similar stories and agreed. I asked the older blonde woman with the glasses working there if she knew how much crawfish I should order for 2 people. She was clearly annoyed and said "so do you want 2 pounds?" She then said "if you want sides, the menu is there" and pointed. I told her I was sorry I was so taken aback by what was happening that I was having trouble responding right away, which she clearly had an issue with. So frustrating because I have no idea how to order. We were so excited tonight to go out in our local neighborhood area for the holiday. Food was fine. I got flustered and ordered a beer so I couldn't tell you about the drinks. When we tried to leave, There were many cars blocking in other cars, ours being one of them. The employee called on the speaker to have the person backing us in to come move them after some more attitude. Some ratchet ghetto girl and her friend came to move their car but tried to fight me in the process. Where was the service? Why wasn't a tow truck called in the beginning on these idiots? Went here for a Saints game on Sunday! The atmosphere was amazing and the crowd was great. They even had a trumpet playing for the saint's kickoff Drinks were moderately priced. Parking can be a little tricky, but you can double park-don't worry they will come find you asking you to move the Blue MDX (or what ever you drive) by walking around and announcing the car that needs to be moved. Sometimes you have to ask yourself if the stress of parking is worth you coming to this place. This is a popular place so you will be competing with very limited parking and will have to get creative as to where to park. I will admit that I almost drove away. But hey I drive a Jeep so you almost have to somewhat be rugged with it and what better way to be rugged than parking on grass in an incline. This place is pretty packed and you will have to stand around to snag a table. It is worth it though as the crawfish turned out to be some of the best I have had in awhile. They are served hot, as in temperature hot so let them cool down for a bit. They were pretty big crawfish with just the right flavors. We also ordered boudin which was a bit bland but still pretty good. Just add some hot sauce and it was delicious. The french fries were also crispy and good! You will definitely not be disappointed by the food here. I really wanted to try the bread pudding but after eating crawfish, boudin, french fries, and beer, I just could not fit it in. This place is also setting for a great time. The layout and vibe adds a backyard feeling and when combined with great weather, you are in for a treat. My best friend and I are on a crawfish mission to find our favorite spot in Houston. The Boot did not disappoint. So far it's in our top, but we're just getting started. Get here around 11am on Sunday before the masses show up. You'll be more comfortable, less time standing in line to order or pay, and more likely to get the seat you want outside. Almost all seating is outside with exception of a small bar and a couple of tables. Get your 3lbs of crawfish with sausage and corn (per person). If you're new to crawfish, it's salty and you need cold beer to maximize the flavor. You should have some coronas or some micheladas. That's your best tip. The crawfish were larger than I've had recently, which is awesome!!! You get some good claw meat. The tails are big. And the flavor inside the heads were juicy - don't be creeped out by sucking the heads. It's where the flavor goes. The gumbo was roughly 800 degrees hot and too greasy. I wouldn't recommend it. But seriously, if you disregard, make sure you let it sit for awhile. It is crazy hot. After all that, we still managed to leave room to split 1lb or snow crab legs. Make sure you ask for a crab cracker tool. There is no reason to shred your hands. Also noteworthy, the crawfish and the crab were perfectly cooked, which makes all the difference. If you want to kick your clarified butter up a notch, squeeze some lemon in there and give it a swirl. Next stop will be BBs! read more

Parking on the street seems tricky as there's not a clear area where it would be ok to park, but it seemed like people were just parking anywhere that wasn't blocking a driveway (I also lucked out with a parking spot). That would probably be my only issue. The service was great. No issues at all. My boyfriend loved the Bloody Mary, which I think is a popular drink order there since nearly everyone got one. I am not a fan, but he said that it had more of a spicy cajun seasoning flavor rather than tomato juice. The bartender was also generous with the vodka. There are several TV's there, inside and out, if you wanted to watch the game when you're grabbing something to eat. Will definitely return to try other menu items. The seasoning was good, perfect once Crystal Hot Sauce was in it. It's served piping hot, and it's in a really deep bowl. So stir, stir, stir before trying to eat it. I also ordered potato salad. Theirs is made with creole (spicy) mustard and bacon. Theirs also just passed my grandmother's potato salad, which is one all others are compared to. It's delicious. We finished by sharing a bread pudding. We needed a fourth person with which to share it. It was really good as well. No raisin or nuts or ridiculousness. I recommend finding a seating first if it's on a weekend and then have each member of the party go up and order. Seating gets tough to find on the weekends because they have limited seating and it's first come first serve. You can get better deals at regular bars that do crawfish but this place stands out because it does taste better compared to bar crawfish and it specializes in just seafood. Likewise the other open area where kids play now has a smoking receptacle and no balls allowed for them to toss. Fantastic mainly outdoor spot for good weather days, beers and crawfish season. The Boot reminds me a lot of West Alabama Icehouse, but with cajun food served in house, rather than Icehouse's rotating food trucks. Customer demographic was mixed, there were parents with kids playing in the gravel, college students, early twenties young professionals, and then a smattering of up the decade charts. Whole vibe was a calm one. They play audible music but it wasn't deafening, and you could easily focus on the conversation at your table without distractions. (This was on a Wednesday though, so no idea about weekends) Bar offers lots of good Louisiana brewed bottles and cans as well as the regular domestic mainstays. There's a fairly good selection of spirits as well, and I hear their bloody mary is worth checking out. They have a week night happy hour of $3 all beers $4 cocktails and $5 wine 5pm-8PM which is hard to beat in the area. Food, as mentioned before, is cajun Louisiana fare. Etouffe, gumbo, boudin, fried gator, boiled shrimp, boiled crabs, seasonal crawfish, etc. We ordered a good portion of the menu and shared bites and I can safely say they know what they're doing. Etouffe was very good, if you're a fan of the creamier thicker flour based kind. Fried gator was perfectly breaded, moist and had a great dipping sauce. French fries, as boring as that is, were good, being the thinner cut kind and came with a healthy seasoning and salting. Crawfish, which was our main attraction, were good. The size was a solid medium and the seasoning, though not spicy enough for my atomic preferences, was done well. Per pound was $6.50 I think, which is on par or better than most, though that of course changes with seasonal pricing. I heard multiple people around us commenting how this is their favorite crawfish spot in Houston, so I'm sure you won't complain about them. Service, though order at the bar setup, was great. The owner, or maybe manager, spent almost the entire time we were there walking from table to table checking on how the food was, jumping on needs and thanking people for coming out. Food came out quickly after being ordered and they bring it to your table after spotting your number.
