Excellent Pizza!!! I grew up eating at the Boynton. Matter of fact, I went on my first date here. I can remember how the door squeaked when you opened it and the hard swing that it had. We would always order ground beef or pepperoni with peppers and onions. It didn't matter what was on the pizza, it was the quality of the cheese, the good sauce and the excellent dough that made their pizza so wonderful. Awful attitude! I went with a friend because he was hungry and when I ordered a "chicken fingers" from the kids menu because I didn't feel so hungry, the waiter said "chicken tinders". I said no "chicken fingers" and I pointed at it in the menu. The waiter then said yes and got me the order, which tasted bad and didn't end up eating anything. When i was paying I realized that he charged me for another item which is double the price, and when i let them know, they said you have to be 12 years old to order from the kids menu. A thing that was neither mentioned in the menu or got told to me when i physically pointed at the item to the bartender. They rather preferred to keep it a surprise for the end I guess!!!! read more

My husband and I stopped in a Mother's Day.We haven't been in since before covid. Made a reservation and ended up sitting at the bar because we wanted a good seat to watch the Bruins. Or bartenders were GREAT! They were out of prime rib, so I decided to go with the special, tge Cali Burrito. My husband got the Salmon. We started with oysters.They only had one kind. They were good. Also had French onion soup, It was tasty. Onions nice & caramelized. We also shared an order of the lobster rangoon. I remember them being larger than they were, still very good. I don't think I'll get the California burrito again. It was good and a great size. On the bland side. I would have liked to have fresh homemade salsa with it. We were driving home from watching UMass Lowell Softball at Bentley and needed some food. The Yankees and Mets were playing in the ALDS and NLDS so we needed a sports bar. Yelp! recommended The Boynton on our way through Worcester. It was around 6pm on a Saturday evening. Naturally, the place was hopping which we expected and had a 30 minute wait. When we arrived we noticed folks waiting, we figured we'd hang at the bar while we waited. The hostess station had some young ladies that were not paying attention to customers but rather were just chatting it up amongst themselves. This should haven been our first clue to customer service. We went to the bar to grab a drink while we waited for our table. They have a good beer and drink list along with an extensive food menu. Prices were reasonable as well. 35'minuted later we got called for our table and again the hostess station had us wait while they were chatting. We were seated upstairs towards the right. All the TVs have the same thing on, bruins preseason hockey. Our server was very good, checked on us. The table we sat at had a leaf underneath that would not stay closed. I ordered the Turkey Dinner and Amanda ordered Beef and Burrata bolognesez. Both were very very good. Unexpectedly delicious. While waiting for our meal, I went to find the Manager to ask about the TV to be Changed to baseball. She was able to change the channel. We always ask, would we comeback? Great spot to sit in the bar area to watch sports on one of their 10+ TVs. Also plenty of cozy space for dining away from the bar if that's not your thing. The beer list is great with tons of local options to explore. Cocktail list was also impressive with lots of seasonal cocktail choices. With an extensive menu, there's something on there for any type of craving from snacks to salad to flatbreads to burgers and steak to Italian favorites. Very disappointing dining experience. It was our first time visiting this establishment and did so based on recommendation from someone familiar with the Worcester area. We were a party of 5 and ordered burgers, margarita flatbread pizza, chili, and Chicken/broccolii Alfredo(pasta). Chili was just ok. I prefer chili to be thick and somewhat spicy, and this was neither. Was expecting it to be served with cheese, but it wasn't. The flatbread margarita pizza literally had puddles of grease on it, which not only ruined the taste , but made the crust soggy. The cheeseburgers were cooked to order, I.e, Medium rare, and were tasty. However, the buns were dry thus they crumbled when trying to eat the burger...almost as if they were stale/old. French fries were served lukewarm, which ruined the taste. The pasta dish had plentiful chicken and broccoli with a flavorful Alfredo sauce. Overall, this meal was a disappointment. read more

I sat at the bar , had a coke and a prime rib sandwich with fries, service was great , my coke was never empty , and I was only going to eat 1/2 a sandwich and bring the other half back , nope . I've heard a lot about the Boynton so I was excited to try it but honestly we were a little let down. I got pasta and my boyfriend got steak tips. My pasta was relatively good but the sauce was very soupy. One of my boyfriend's steak tips was completely raw. I have wanted to try this restaurant for many years, it's been around for decades and I had never been until today. We had 1 pm reservations and we pulled in the parking lot and it was packed! We went in and were seated right away. The Boynton is pretty large and also has a second floor. It's more of a pub atmosphere with a large bar area and lots of tv's, I counted 7 in the area we sat in. We ordered drinks with steamers for an appetizer. For dinners I picked the baked scallops with onion rings and spinach and my partner picked the tenderloin with mashed potatoes and brussel sprouts. We enjoyed our steamers and a short while later our dinners were served. They served the dinners with a small cup of ketchup (for the onion rings) and tubs of butter (veggies?), we would have really loved some salt but unfortunately our waitress wasn't around at this time. My scallops were good, and the spinach was very good. The onion rings were meh. My partner and I switched dinners halfway through and his tenderloin that he ordered medium rare was way too rare for me (moo!), the mashed potatoes were ok and the brussel sprouts were excellent. This time I ordered the Buffalo chicken sandwich with an added fried egg and potatoes wedges as the side. The food was hot and came out pretty quickly since I was with a part of 8 (we came after work). I am not a fan of blue cheese, however the blue cheese on the chicken sandwich was not too strong which I liked. The service was also decent. The woman who served us was very friendly and did everything a waitress/waiter should do. The ambiance was also okay. It was a bit loud but it was not distracting. Food was amazing!! We were lucky enough to snag a table here on the night of the Stanley cup final game!! Don't let that deter you from experiencing this atmosphere! It's super busy and defs a college bar scene that just happens to also be a really good food as well! Oysters were fresh and umami rather than sweet. Flatbreads were crispy but soft at the same time. It definitely saddens me to write this review period we went there for the first time after hearing so many good things. As for what is great about this place, the service was impeccable. We only went for appetizers. we had the baked Brie and the boom boom platter. The big brie was absolutely delicious. But sadly, that's where it ends. All of the appetizers on the boom boom platter were extremely dry. While I live for spicy foods, the chicken wings burnt my wife's tongue. Was visiting WPI and needed something to eat. This more than fit the bill. It was great pub fare! And during the pandemic they have set up two big tents so social distance and eat outside. Which was our first meal at a place since March! The service was safe and quick. We got the steak and cheese sandwich. Bread was really fresh and had a good crunch. This is a great restaurant serving a wide variety of American dishes. I went with two locals and we walked in on a Saturday about 5p and got seated without delay, although not in the main room. The room where we wound up--upstairs and to the back--was sparsely occupied but I was slightly alarmed to see not one but two large (10+) tables set up. I asked the hostess and she said they weren't coming till later. She was half -right anyway. One party came about 15 minutes in and they were pretty noisy. Next time I'll push for diffrent seating even it the party hasn't shown up yet. So, one star off for a noisy dining experience--as someone else said I had to strain to hear my companions. That said, everything else was top-notch. I had a burger and onion rings which were prepared to my liking, and a glass of sauvignon blanc which was fine. Companion #1 had a Hawaiian pizza, the idea of which makes me cringe, but aside from the ham and pineapple it looked so good (very cheese-y) I was wishing I'd gotten pizza.
