If we had only had the wings, this would be a 10 star rating and that's not even possible. Seriously, the best wings I have EVER eaten at a restaurant. I'm actually not a huge wings fan but my boyfriend loves them so they are a pretty regular regular purchase for us. They are smoked with some Cajun seasoning, and the baked to make the crispy. We got them naked with the Asian Zang sauce on the side and barely used the sauce. They fell off the bone, and were juicy and flavorful. SO impressed. We both got an alcoholic beverage (he got a draft beer, I got an XRated Sunrise (tequila sunrise plus XRated vodka...delish but very boozy. I only needed one!). Then we got our entrees. He got the 10oz sirloin. He asked for medium and it probably was before they let it rest but it was a little more than medium once we got it. He said it was just okay. I got the TBR Toss which is a low carb lovers DREAM! It's wilted spinach, asparagus, mushrooms, onions, and red pepper plus your choice of protein, all tossed together. The veggies kind of take the place of pasta and it was so worth it. I got the steak as my protein and it was cooked to medium and sliced up nicely. It was SO MUCH FOOD and really delicious. I ordered the prime steak sandwich & salad. My salad was fantastic, my main meal was a nightmare. I was asked how I wanted my steak, I told them medium-rare. I assumed it would be shaved beef, like Arby's, but what I got was a 1/8 thick steak (like the old Ponderosa), cut into 1" triangles. The meat was gray and well overcooked. Since the meat had no real color or taste, I guessed that it was probably cooked in the microwave. I was hoping to get some flavor from the beef dip, but it was week and flavorless, kind of like a watered down tea. So for $17 I was served a tasteless microwave sandwich. Excellent service by Miranda and delicious food. Our food came out a bit earlier than anticipated but better than later than anticipated, right? The Mediterranean Chicken was the table's favorite. Zesty, cheesy, refreshing and very filling after the house salad. The Greek Salad was the favorite of our salads. The salads and entrees are generously sized so if you want dessert, I'd be ready to pack some of your entree to go! One thing that would be nice for future visits is the option for gluten free buns and/or tortillas (or just a lettuce-wrap option). A gluten-free dessert would be great, too. My wife and I had lunch on the patio today at The Brass Rail with our friends. The four of us enjoyed our (very) good food, years of friendship, the weather and the overall atmosphere. The manager seated us promptly and he came to our table again during our meal to see whether everything was okay and ask if there was anything we would like...much appreciated. As we often do, we shared the TBR Nachos with chicken added and the huge portion was easily plentiful for two or more to share...they were delicious! We even brought home some leftovers along with an order of (Tuesday's special 10 for $12.50) Teriyaki chicken wings accompanied by celery and a choice of ranch or blue cheese dip to share at dinner...they, too, were fantastic! YUM! Our friends chose the "Pick Two," each decided on the grilled chicken wrap and Caesar salad, and both were larger portions than one would find at many restaurants. They assured us their food was also delicious! We've not been disappointed on any of our visits to TBR with the quality and taste of our food, the service, or the value for our money! Several months ago our grandson told us how much he liked TBR Nachos with steak added and that's when we decided to visit and find out for ourselves. Today's rating is a "5." Met a friend here for dinner on a Sunday evening. I wasn't really looking forward to eating here but I was proven wrong. I've been trying to clean up my eating and it was really easy to eat well here and the service and food was good! I ordered the grilled salmon dinner (blackened) cooked medium well. It came with rice and two sides. I chose the dinner salad with champagne vinaigrette and the garlic mashed potatoes. Everything was great except for the rice which I didn't want to eat anyway. The salmon was perfectly cooked and the mashed potatoes were just indulgent enough to make me feel like I had a treat but didn't do any major damage. I'd say this place is one step above a T.G.I. I felt The Brass Rail was on the same level as Applebee's and Friday's. It is a chain restaurant. It is located in a shopping center in O'Fallon, Missouri. It was very crowded and they do not take reservations but they do have a check-in waitlist. Because it is crowded, it is very loud and I had trouble hearing some of the people at our table. Most of your entrees come with a choice of one or two sides. He ordered the ribeye and I ordered the baby back ribs. My selection came with one side and I wish I had read the menu because it came with their cucumber slaw which I ordered as a side. The slaw came in two different sizes on my plate. One was ramekin size, the other dressing size. One tasted fresh, the other a little wimpy. My ribs were okay. He said his steak was very tough and brought some of it home for steak and eggs the next morning. Even then it didn't get a little tender and he ended up tossing it. Would I come back here? We went for our 55th anniversary 7/13. My wife ordered the Shrimp/ chicken pasta and was quite satisfied. I was in the mood for steak, turned out to not be a good choice. Apparently they pre-cook (boil) the steaks as I was surprised at how quick the food arrived. I had ordered a med rare NY strip which is usually fairly pink in middle. After cutting into the steak, which seemed far from tender there was no pink. The waitress , who was very good, offered to replace it and I agreed. The next piece of meat was the same. The steak was more like a sirloin, thin and chewy. Anyway, if your in the mood for steak I couldn't recommend the Brass Rail but I will say my wife's meal was good and the service good but for 30 plus dollars the steak was terrible. read more

Bartender started off pretty strong making a great drink. However, after giving a menu and closing it took over 15 minutes for me to finally say to another bartender that I was ready to order. After receiving food, the first bartender never asked how my food was while making drinks right in front of me. It took the 2nd bartender until I had two bites of my steak left, to ask how everything was. My steak was done well and the sautéed mushrooms were really good. Hate to say it but in a damn good tipper if the service is good, even when the food isn't .... Service needs a major improvement. read more

We asked for recommendations in our neighboring county as we live in a county still closed due to COVID restrictions and this was one of the restaurants recommended. We blindly selected The Brass Rail and hoped for the best. Our expectations were severely exceeded. The food was delicious. I mean, amazing. All of it. Between us we ordered crab cakes, ribs, wings, crab dip, pretzels, burgers, fries chicken sandwich (off menu), nachos, garlic potatoes, Cajun fries, and fries. Every single thing was delicious. And there were so many items on the menu we have to go back and try later. We sat outside on the patio and the service was great. This is a beautiful place. The food not so good. Started with the "brass balls" had ice centers. The coconut shrimp were raw in the middle. The $38 filet was very tough and hard to cut. This was our 3rd visit. The first 2 were slightly better. Frozen food thawed and served. They claim "aged meat" but it's really tough. Possibly a supply issue with quality products but at these prices I expect good food properly prepared. Even their published hours are wrong on their personal website as well as google. Owner took no responsibility for that as people were there at 11:00. Personality goes a long way with people. Simple " sorry about that" would have been great. Instead the typical arrogant attitude so common these days. Reviews are the only way to let businesses know how they are doing. Unfortunately most employees no longer care. This is a great place to eat. The food is awesome. I have eaten breakfast, lunch, and dinner here and loved it all. As good as the restaurant is the people really make this place. It starts with the owner at the Brass Rail. He has a heart of gold and this year he will feed 12,000 people for free on Thanksgiving. His employees get to experience this big event and it just makes you better working for a place like this. First time going there so I didn't know what to expect. They have outdoor seating which is always nice however they were all taken so we ate inside which is nice as well. There were four of us, I got the Cajun chicken salad and it was excellent! Lettuce was fresh and the chicken was delicious. Menu says dusted with Cajun seasoning and it was... to perfection. Not overly seasoned like a blackened chicken ( which I love) and it was fresh and hot. Another person ordered the steak loaf, I tried it and it was delicious. Topped with homemade onion ring that were great. Another got the ribs and wow!!!! The meat fell off the bone extremely tender and their sauce was on point. The staff was very friendly and our server was great. Surprisingly all four of ate for 100$, not including tip and I had a glass of wine. This place is wonderful. read more

Coming back from said appointment, we stopped for lunch. She got some kind of nacho thing, which she has had before. And she liked it a lot. I got grilled chicken salad: 8 oz. grilled chicken over lettuce, diced tomatoes, cucumbers, red onions, shredded cheese and croutons. I opted out of the croutons. Service was fabulous.
