Let me just say that the Black and Bleu sirloin tips is my new favorite thing. It's so so good. The Bleu cheese sauce it's just the right amount of blue. Garlic mashed potatoes, onion straws, spinach. Topped off with a glass of pino noir. Supreme comfort food. I didn't even snap a photo before I dug in. The Brass Rail Steakhouse hosted the 55 Plus Meet-up group last evening. We had twenty eight members attend. I did call ahead to obtain reservations and requested to be placed outside. Upon arrival, the restaurant place us in a room off the bar, with individual table of five. I was not happy as the purpose of the group are to mingle and get to know one another. They did move the tables around so the group could co mingle. It was a very tight situation, and I did receive complaints from the group. Having said that, the guests were happy with the food, and the service was fabulous. Management did promise to do better with setting next time. Over-all it was a pleasant evening. read more

Just meh. Was expecting better. When you walk in and see a butcher shop with dry aged beef in a display case and can see a guy in a window hand carving the steaks you expect much better meat. The N.Y. Strip was a little grissley and though my wife ordered it medium well it was barely medium. Way too pink in the center and burned in places on one side. My ribeye was ordered medium rare but was basically raw in the middle. Luckily I like rare steaks too and it was seasoned well. House merlot was really good. Cesar salad was weak with almost no dressing. Garlic mashed potatoes were basic and not horrible. All in all just meh. read more

You can't go wrong with this place for $3 22oz beers of your choice during happy hour, The service was VERY friendly and I sat on the patio enjoying a tasty ribeye with a salad and roasted potatoes. Portions were large, food was excellent, and the weather was perfect for enjoying the sun. They have a ton of TVs inside too if you want to watch sports or the weather isn't quite as perfect. I'd be here all the time if I lived nearby, check this place out and you won't be disappointed. read more

Great service, just wished they had everything to offer off the menu. Some of the items were not available. That seems to be an ongoing thing with most of the restaurants in the area...lately. My husband took me to The Brass Rail for dinner on Mother's Day. The wait was only 5-10 minutes, probably because it seems to be a pretty big restaurant. The service was very good, even though they were pretty busy. My husband got the rib-eye steak. He said it was good; but not worth the price of $38.00. I got the fish 'n chips and an order of clam chowder. I was told the clam chowder was homemade, and it was as good as any I've ever had. The fish, however, was not very tasty. We'd probably go again for a special occasion; but it is way too expensive to dine there very often. read more

Been inside a couple of times and ordered for lunch a few. Everything was delicious and timely. Service was good. Their Brass cheese balls are a must try. Gotten steak twice and it was well worth it. Haven't had anything that was a miss yet. read more

If you are looking for an awesome salad, this is your place! We can't say enough about the Monterrey Chicken and Steak salads with the Champagne vinaigrette dressing. We get them to go often. The Monterrey Chicken salad includes two good size deliciously seasoned crispy chicken breast. And your choice of add ons, like bacon, pecans, tomatoes, cucumber, etc are too numerous to list. The lettuce is always fresh. A great to-go option for sure! read more

Disappointed in this place lately and this use to be one of our favorite local places. We Checked in on No Wait - was given a place in line. When we arrived, we were told that they no longer use No Wait. Seriously?!! Then told it would be another 30 minutes. Why we waited, I am not sure because when we were finally seated the waiter seemed annoyed that we were even there. To top it off, food was cold when it arrived. read more

Did the waitlist, still had to wait 30 minutes even after I told them we had a newborn baby with us. They had some tables open where they put us. Asked what kind of soups French onion and chili. Finally found out they didn't have French onion had to settle for a salad. Didn't get any bread either. When you pay $24 to $29 for a steak you expect good service that knows what is on the menu. read more

This was our first time here. The food was great! My husband (20 oz. Prime Rib with asparagus and side salad) and I (16 oz. Prime Rib with a side of sautéed mushrooms and the soup of the day [crab seafood in a tomato broth with vegetables and old bay seasoning]) tried the steak. We're starting a low carb diet and the food we ordered was great! The service was excellent and if I had to complain it would only be that because of a packed restaurant, it was pretty loud. But that packed restaurant is what helps you know that this restaurant is really good. Looking around at the other tables and what they were ordering, looked great all around! We discovered this place a couple years ago and it has always been great. There are so many menu options. Everything on the menu is amazing. The staff is always so kind and friendly. Favorite restaurant in the area by far. Everything on the menu tastes great and is super fresh and the service is also always spot on. The bar is full of just about everything you could ask for. My family eats here a few times a month and we could not recommend it any higher. read more

If you walked into this place you'd think covid didn't exist. None of the staff, including the kitchen staff pictured that we could clearly see from our seat, were masked (which is 100% a health code violation in our county). My wife and I left shortly after being seated. If you're trying to be careful about covid exposures, this restaurant is in no way covid friendly. read more

This was just okay for us. The food was too salty, especially the French fries. Yes I understand that French fries are salty but these might've been the saltiest French fries I've ever attempted to eat. I only had a few and I was starving. The sandwiches were good. A little salty but not as bad. Good price. I'd come back but ask for unseasoned fries and no added salt for the entrees. read more

Good service and drinks Had a wait about 20 min for our appetizer After our wings finally came out we had long hair between wings. Wings were sent back took another 15 min which made back to back with our dinner and a lot of wait time. Also some cooks where not wearing mask in the kitchen. Nice to meet you! My husband, Ryan, and I are the proud owners of The Brass Rail Steakhouse in O'Fallon. We love it for so many reasons, but mostly because of the great community built around it. We are proud of our mostly made-from-scratch menu (no frozen patties here, guys) and amazing team. We had the Chicha Morada - a traditional Peruvian beverage made from dried purple corn (maíz morado), pineapple, apples, cinnamon, and cloves, often sweetened with sugar and brightened with lime juice. This unique sweet, fruity, and spiced flavor, is a staple in Peru. I had the Arroz con Mariscos: Peruvian style rice paella; creamy yellow pepper sauce mixed with shrimp, calamari, scallops, mussels, red peppers and aromatic cilantro. A flavor party in your mouth! Plenty for two people or to share if you do family style. I also had a side of Yuca fries - definitely get the yuca fries! The arroz con mariscos is part of the Trio Marino: Sampler plate of Arroz con Mariscos Ceviche de Pescado and Chicharrón de Pescado. The Ceviche is mouth watering good. Our "no seafood" family member even likes it - that says a lot. We also had Arroz con Pollo: Tender chicken simmered with fragrant cilantro-infused rice, peas, carrots and spices. Served with salsa criollo. And a Ceviche Traditional: Mahi Mahi marinated in lime juice, spicy peppers and fresh cilantro, served w red onions/corn/sweet potato plate. Flavor is definitely infused throughout all the food. Other plates (not pictured) were Lomo Saltado, Arroz Chaufa, and Aji de Gallina. There were no complaints from anyone at the table. Well this place hit the bottom of the barrel. My wife wanted to go to dinner for our anniversary and decided on the Brass Rail. We have never been to this business and decided to give it a try. We walked in the hostess and what was supposed to be our server were at the front and greeted us. We were seated and poof apparently forgotten about. There were 4 people seated at 2 other tables, and 4 more came in and seated at a table. I person seated at the bar. We waited, waited and waited some more. Employees were walking all about the business and at no less than 6 passed our table without even a glance. After 15-20 minutes without service it was time to find a different place for dinner. I contacted the manager and he wanted to make things right and followed us to the door. I will NEVER patronize this business again. If employees working for me were like this; they be looking for other employment. read more

I recently attended an office dinner at a restaurant that happened to have an all-day happy hour on Wednesdays. It was a delightful surprise and added to the overall enjoyment of the evening. What made the experience even better was the exceptional service provided by the staff. They were attentive, friendly, and went above and beyond to ensure our dining experience was enjoyable. The food portions were also generous, leaving us feeling satisfied and content. The combination of the discounted prices during happy hour, the wonderful service, and the large food portions made for a truly memorable dining experience. Scott Ellinger has created such a wonderful "community" within his restaurant. As has been his dream, he has created a restaurant that offers a top notch dining experience with great food, outstanding service and a comfortable neighborhood feel. On top of that, if you like the steak you had for dinner at the restaurant you can go right into the in-house Butcher shop and buy one to take with you for a wonderful dinner experience at home. And... if all that isn't enough... The Brass Rail feeds people in need for Thanksgiving every year... serving them a hot Thanksgiving meal complete with all the trimmings! Wow! What a great place! Me and my Fiance heard some good things about this place so decided to check it out. I thought that the food and service was really good. I just had a burger and loved it! The only thing I have to complain about is we were told it would be 15 minute wait and it took us a little more than 45 minutes to get seated. The lobby was very small to wait for a table and even though a guy I was talking to said they don't take reservations we watched two couples walk in and get seated before us saying they called in a spot. I heard they are expanding it which is good because they need it as the place looks like it is in good demand. We will go back for sure but not on a Friday or Saturday night. read more

Can't believe this is the first time I'm reviewing. My wife and I have been coming here since we moved to ofallon three years ago. It's one of the best, most consistent, (and affordable) restaurants in St Louis. We absolutely love it here. We've had many, what we call, Brass Rail moments.... when we look at each other and need a nice night out without cooking and we always agree on Brass Rail without second thought. WOW. I was here once about 15 months ago and it was terrible. SO GLAD I CAME BACK. The new owner has changed everything except the name. The staff is awesome, and the food is as good as you will find in O'Fallon. If they have them, order the crab cakes, they are flat out the best in Missouri. I had a surf-n-turf with the filet and crab cake and it was awesome. They are busy, but most certainly worth the wait. read more

The tables were distanced but staff stood too close We wore masks in to protect workers so the restaurant can stay open but if they are not willing to protect the customer, we will be back when there is a vaccination. read more
