Plenty of parking available in front and rear. Bar seating and high tables and chairs were available for seating yourself. Maddi greeted us and was very patient while we checked beer and food menu. Nice to see some great beer available from around the nation. Once we decided on our beverages, we asked about suggestions for food. My daughter and I attended a wedding, and their after-party was held here. We were a group of 19, and the bride called ahead to reserve space for us. When we arrived, the tables were already pushed together with enough room for everyone, which I appreciated. Unfortunately, it took quite a while for a server to come over, and it seemed like no one was sure who was actually taking care of our group. The server who eventually helped us seemed flustered and a bit annoyed. It was late, so I have a feeling she was just ready to go home. When she got to me, I ordered the Brussels sprouts with no bacon because I am vegetarian, along with a ginger ale. We had a 5 a.m. flight and I was driving a rental car, so no alcohol for me. She sighed when I told her I wouldn't be drinking that night, which was unnecessary. My daughter ordered a soda pop and wings. Our drinks came out fairly quickly, but my ginger ale was basically three sips and gone because the glass was packed with ice. When my Brussels sprouts arrived, I asked the server for a refill, and she said she would bring it right out. I started eating and to my disgust, the sprouts were covered in bacon. I decided to wait and let her know when she brought the refill. Fast forward 45 minutes. No refill. No server. I finally got up and reminded her. Ten minutes later, she brought me another ginger ale loaded with ice again, but no sprouts. She said the kitchen was working on the replacement. After another 30 minutes, still nothing. At that point, I just scraped off what bacon I could and tried eating some of the cold, greasy, burnt Brussels sprouts. After a few bites, I gave up. On the bright side, my daughter enjoyed her wings. She said they were flavorful and hot, and I was glad at least she got a good meal. When it was time to pay, our group had multiple issues with the server mixing up drinks and appetizers. I was charged for two ginger ales and for the Brussels sprouts. She told me refills were not free. I reminded her about the bacon and showed her the barely touched plate. She said she could not remove it because it was too late. At that point, I just shook my head, paid, and left a tip. I did not have the energy to argue about watered-down drinks and the wrong food. As for the bar itself, it was clean with nice ambiance. Dim lighting, comfortable vibe, great for watching a game or relaxing with friends. The ladies restroom smelled good but needed a bit of attention. Overall, based on my experience, I do not think I would revisit this location. I am not sure if our server was new or if the size of our group overwhelmed her, but the whole night felt disorganized and disappointing. It is a shame because the bar and restaurant itself has a lot of potential. read more

I should update my review. First time I was here, my experience was awful. I was completely ignored and I left without ever being served. I can saw I've been back a few times since and every time the experience has been great. I love the Brass Tap Classic Pizza. They have a good selection of beers ( sit down or I'll sit you down IPA & the Temptress ) are the best. Service has been amazing since the first time. I'm glad I gave this spot another go. Our server was super nice though he seemed spread a little thin so not super attentive. But pleasant nonetheless. We had high hopes for this spot given the reviews, but unfortunately both our entrees were overcooked (all American burger and spicy Asian chicken sandwich) so the meat was dry. The sides were suuuper greasy, like dripping in oil, not pleasantly indulgent (garlic fries and the brussel sprouts). They were generally tasty, but just so greasy. Additionally, the entrees came out like 1 minute after our appetizer, so the timing was not great. The app was the best thing we ate there (boom boom shrimp). The beers were good and fairly priced. All in, didn't feel like the quality and taste matched the price. Perhaps it was an off night for the kitchen; but we probably won't be back because the food wasn't as good as we expected based on prices and other reviews. read more

I would've given them 5 but my pizza didn't come out with the rest of our groups and was delayed and we had a steak over cooked however that being said overall they fixed the steak and our food was delicious. My family and friends been coming to The Brass Tap in McKinney since the first week they open and almost weekly for their Bingo Trivia night, but after what happened tonight ( July 29), I can confidently say this isn't a place worth being a regular. Customer service here is wildly inconsistent, and a big part of that is the constant turnover in staff. Every time we get to know a server or bartender, they're gone within a few weeks. We've even run into a few of them working elsewhere working around town and they've all said the same thing, poor management is the reason they left. That instability clearly bleeds into the overall experience. The final straw was tonight's trivia event, there was a manager we've never seen before who spent the entire night hanging out at a specific table like it was his personal VIP section. He talked to a one or two tables that night but his main focus was that table throughout the game, he kept going back and forth to the bingo host making sure the sound was good and he repeated the question, and it was clear he was trying to get special treatment for the people at that table. Then when the game ended (as in, the standard 35 questions for the final round blackout page and there was no winner), he conveniently went back to the host and said he wanted someone to win the pot........surprise, they added two more questions. What are the odds that one of the people from the table he was glued to all night magically won the $350 pot? The food is usually consistent outside of forgetting to bring things because it seems training and turnover is a major part, and they've got a decent beer selection, but moments like this really show you where the priorities are. If you're looking for a casual one-time stop, this place might be fine. But if you're hoping for a consistent, well-managed bar where you can become a regular and feel valued... this is not it. Between the questionable management decisions, the lack of staff consistency, and the unfair atmosphere during events, we won't be coming back. read more

if you're looking for your run on the mill bar food, the spot is for you! There's nothing phenomenal write about here but it's a great place to catch a game and has a wide variety of beers available! My husband and I went for the TX vs OU game! They had a special on wings and pizza so we got a plate of both! The pizza definitely could have been Digiorno. The wings were cooked well but again nothing I would go out of my way to get again. I saw a lot of reviews complaining about their service, but on this weekend, our server was great! I've accidentally ordered this Brass Tap twice, maybe three times through Uber Eats. That's by accident due to me closing the app and opening it back up, then forgetting to check to make sure the Allen location is selected instead of the McKinney (they're both close). I don't know what the difference is between the Allen and McKinney location is, but you guys gotta send the cooks/chefs from the Mckinney location to the Allen location so they can take some notes. I ordered brisket tacos tonight. No one wants the very center of the pickled onion, sliced on top of their brisket. At least take the time to break up the many layers if so? What cojita cheese? It was a very light dusting.. almost like what you wake up to in north Texas, when you were told you'd get 3-6" of snow over night before you wake up in the morning. Aside from that, the one sauce added to my tacos (there's only once sauce stated so this correct) was two horizontal stripes of spicy mayo perpendicular to the long ways shape of the taco..? The last time I accidentally placed an order through Uber Eats, to this location.. I ordered fish and chips. Holy cow! Go get the same fryer and batter (maybe even fish) from the Allen location and put in this store. Because a fan favorite at that location in Allen is not even close to comparable from this location in McKinney, with or without ordering it.
