Overpriced food and beer. Gets 2 stars because it was close to my hotel. There was a band playing the night I went. The stage is on top of you, with tables 5-10 feet away. Maybe I've grown up a bit, but I don't want to scream at the people sitting with me when I go out anymore. Also, why does this restaurant have a bouncer? No fights while I was there, but clearly a concern. Headed out with my local friend Rich night two. Went to Siren Rock, local brewery downtown. Great beers and food! They have happy hour specials, so I took advantage of that and ordered the pretzel bites as an appetizer and chicken nachos as a meal. The pretzel bites were soft and perfect flavor. Queso was served with the bites and it was perfect consistency and delicious. The chicken nachos were piled high with fresh tortilla chips, chicken, Queso, sour cream, roasted red peppers, onions, and salsa. I got a side of guacamole as extra to go with my nachos. For a drink, I tried the Lavender Lemonade drink. It was so delicious! Definitely worth a try. They gave me the lemon juice on the side so I could pour it in my drink myself. Great view of the lake. There were five in our group. Service is just ok. I had the Brie bacon grilled cheese which was very good. Did I mention the great view of the lake? Our drinks and food literally were delivered to the table one or two at a time. The servers are using some sort of wrist tablet. Apparently the kitchen can't stage five food orders to be delivered at one time. All the waitresses we saw were bouncing back and forth the same way. I like that the Brass Tap regularly has activities going on. It can be a fun place to go. Their service is hit or miss and when it's bad, it's really bad. First bad experience was the end of May. Went with a friend who had some special dietary needs and was asking if she could get some vegetables to go with our queso. Server was rude about it. Apparently they don't have any vegetables and we deserved a dirty look and short response for even asking. Next bad experience, I was meeting some friends for a drink and music bingo. One of the ladies really likes blended drinks. Although they are on the menu, this location doesn't carry them. Can't tell that from the menu, but the server was really rude to us for questioning why she couldn't get one. At first he didn't say they just don't carry them at all and got increasingly irritated as we tried to figure out if it was just one kind they were out of, if the machine was broken, etc. it boiled down to him saying "What do you want me to do about it? Do I look like I own the place?" Some basic manners and a pleasant attitude would have been sufficient. read more

My boyfriend and I came in Sunday 3/23/25 around 5:45pm. We were hoping to have a cocktail and enjoy views. We walked in and sat down at the bar. Waited for around 5 min for a bartender to come around. She finally came and I asked for a vodka soda. She then asked for our ID's. She glanced and then took them away to her security person. She came back and said that my ID could not be accepted. I asked why, she said security said it was a fake. So I then proceeded to give her another ID (my drivers license) and she took it to him. He said that was also fake. (Louisiana Drivers Licenses to be exact)There was no explanation as to why! I felt extremely embarrassed at 36 years old. We've been to this location at over 10 times the past year seven been living in Rockwall and have never had a problem. I love the vibe at the place and it sucks that I likely won't be back because I was accused of having fake ID's at 36 years of age. Insane and very disheartening. While I understand he was just doing his job, a full explanation from security would have been appreciated. We left and I decided to spend my evening at Rodeo Goat. On my first visit, we waited around for well over 10 minutes to be visited by our server. Once we had menus we waited another 15 minutes for the server to come ask for our drink order, at this point we were advised that they were no longer taking orders for the brunch menu. We walked without ordering. Tonight we decided to try it again. Pretty much the same situation. We had to flag down a server to place an order. We got a round of beers, then ordered some food. The food was great, but we did not get our sauces, and we never got water/napkins/silverware. Luckily my gf had some cleanex in her purse. Server never came by to see if we wanted more drinks. We had a large table and she was always available and on point for everything that we needed. We had no issues at all and I just have to recommend her as a nominal waitress! We used to dine here often as the food was good but the atmosphere has significantly changed: It has become a NON family friendly environment unfortunately. The interior isn't very large so they have a section towards the back with video game, pool and a ring toss and some more lounge like chairs. We liked to come during the day and if there was no one playing certain thing my kids and I would go and play with the ring toss while we wait for our food. There is no kid menu or activities to keep them busy so this was nice to have. Our last visit we were told that no one under 21 could go to that area of the restaurant. It's a very inviting area so now telling anyone under 21 there aren't allowed is discouraging. They even posted a printed sign and stuck it on the wall. They said it's because someone's kid got their head stuck in the pool table: this made no sense as the holes aren't even head size. So if you're under 21 you're no longer welcome to enjoy the amenities of the restaurant for play. The dress code has changed as our waitresses the last two times we're wearing sport bras and or tied up shirts to the bra line. Was a bit uncomfortable having my son ask me why our server was wearing a bra. Just a third example as to why it's not very family friendly anymore. Our last three trips we had issues with our order: cousin make something on the menu (Bloody Mary) even tho it was on the menu given. Then we had two different plates get dropped off at our table that wasn't ours. I had to find the waitress at the bar the second time and she turned around and took it to the right table. I handled the food and it was given to another costumer. Heard the gals behind the bar talk about the table numbers being changed or something and then Just walked away. I also another trip asked for clarity on a menu item and when I got the bill I was charged extra when I specifically asked about the price beforehand. It's just been unpleasant and stressful having gone these last 3 times as things just keep adding to the fuel. With the area being closed off to under 21, was just the last time we will be back. We don't have opportunities to go out without our well behaved kids and like to do family stuff, but this place is malignity clear it's more bar scene and not family inviting or friendly. read more

First off I love supporting our local businesses. This place missed the mark big time. We ordered our food thru Grubhub and when our food arrived we we're missing a meal and the food is mediocre and very SALTY the sauces we paid extra for were all opened and spilled out into the bag. My husband called The Brass Tap and was basically told that since we went through a third party delivery that we needed to contact Grubhub for a refund. Wait wasn't it the responsibility of the restaurant to make sure they have all the items that we ordered to be delivered?How would a Grubhub driver know to check? Doesn't make sense. Went here for the first time with my family for brunch on a Sunday and it was amazing! The staff were all very nice, and our patio seat was perfect. The white sangria was delicious, and the breakfast skillet was the perfect amount of food and flavor, and came with fresh watermelon.
