This hotel is absolutely phenomenal, we recently stayed 2 nights and my only complaint is we weren't able to stay longer! We were definitely hesitant among Covid, but they are taking every precaution possible. The staff is absolutely amazing, everyone is friendly, helpful, and wants to make sure you're enjoying your stay. From the gorgeous lobby when you enter, to the welcoming staff, and fantastic room! We really enjoyed with the fireplace in the room and the TVs are connected to an Apple TV so you can access all of your own streaming services if desired. We did our breakfast (included) and dinners here as well and it was all a delicious and pleasant experience. The restaurants are currently limited to just hotel guests, which made it a really romantic experience. Due to the small size, you get to know the staff. Lane at the front desk is friendly and knows the area. Karl the bartender makes some great drinks, and Rebecca at breakfast served us quickly so we could spend our day adventuring! Marc the GM runs a great facility and we can't wait to escape here again someday! In the meantime, I'll recommend it to all of my friends looking for a local trip. Just came back from a most wonderful weekend with my family at this spectacular hotel. My wife happened upon it back in May on the internet, prior to their opening. Really can't say enough good things from the decor, amenities and most of all, the service. G.M.'s Heather and Mike assure that everything is "perfect". From all of the hi tech features throughout the hotel and in rooms to the perfect arrangements of a fresh, eclectic and healthy breakfast presentation. I recently stayed at The Break for my wedding weekend along with my family members from out of town. All I can say is WOW! Everything was absolutely perfect. The hotel itself is absolutely stunning. The view of the water is beautiful. The staff was amazing. Leading up to my wedding weekend, employees of the hotel were in constant communication with me to make sure I had everything I needed for my stay and to ask if they could do anything for me. Rachel in Guest Services went above and beyond in making sure our stay was outstanding. She left welcome treats of Prosecco and Sweenor's chocolates in both my room and my now husband's room the night we arrived before the wedding with a sweet note congratulating us. She came to our rooms to introduce herself as well and made herself available to assist with any of our needs. We also held out rehearsal dinner in the restaurant on location, Chair 5. The manager of the restaurant, Kelli, was a superstar! She checked in with me multiple times in the months leading up to the dinner and offered to create a personalized menu for the event and drink tickets to give out to our guests so that we could pay for their first round. The food was delicious, our guests are still raving about it! When I mentioned to Kelli that I was planning on getting ready at the hotel the morning of my wedding, she offered to let me use the rooftop bar area for hair and makeup so that we would have more space. She also had breakfast set up on the rooftop just for me and my bridal party that morning with an adorable sign welcoming us and wishing us a happy wedding day! I could not have asked for more from the staff. They put music on for us and asked if the room temperature was comfortable for us. They really thought of everything. Hospitality is truly alive and well at The Break! I cannot say enough about how great my experience was. The hotel has so much to offer. Heated floors in the bathroom, beautiful spacious bedrooms with balconies over-looking the water, a sparkling pool, spa services, amazing food, an adorable gift shop, and a top notch staff. My family members from out of state loved it. I, a local Narragansett resident, loved it! My husband and I hope to make a tradition of staying at The Break for each anniversary to relive the amazing experience we had for our wedding weekend. I highly recommend The Break for anyone who wants truly exceptional service from their hotel. On October 2,2016 we celebrated our wedding at Chair 5, although they are not yet listed on some wedding sites, I believe they should for a small venue Wedding. We were married on the outside patio, the view was spectacular. Every employer did there very best, there was not a mistake made. Whatever we requested was given to use. I felt like the entire Hotel was working to please us. Our gratitude most of all is for Eric Shapiro The restaurant Manager, he made everything happen and was there himself that day to see it through. Chief Basil prepared an amazing dinner for us so unique and evenly tasteful. The servers were prepared, polite, and classy. Paul our bar tender handled the serving of drinks without blinking a eye. This is our kind of place! Sometimes you know from looking at the decor, the amenities, the attention to details, or the thought put into the guest experience, that this is going to be a wonderful spot. My wife and I left our 10month-old with the in-laws and got away for a night. While it was a frigid April day, The Break was a perfect spot for 36 hours of exploring Narragansett and Newport, eating Oysters at Matunuck, going for a jog around Point Judith, and getting some great local beer and chowder. The owner was friendly and was interacting with guests during the offered breakfast (incredible healthy, fresh options). The rooms are hip and spacious, with clean, comfortable bathrooms. We watched our shows on the Apple TV hookup and saw the sun set and rise from the balcony. The heated, saltwater pool, bikes available for guests, and walk/short ride to state beaches are on the list for our next visit (if we can afford in season!) when we come back with the little guy. The bathroom with heated tile floors and a walk-in shower for two made me never want to leave :-) Fireplace in room adds to ambiance!!! Beautiful pool and roof deck-- I'll be sure to visit in the summer!!!!! A short walk to the Beach! And if you feel like being a tourist, Newport is only a twenty minute ride away. Homemade cookies and fruit-infused waters await you every morning outside your room!!!! And the hotel staff surprised us with a picnic basket full of goodies, for our departure... While we only live about 40 miles away, we were looking for a break from the winter holiday stresses. We considered Ocean House in Westerly (under renovation though), and Weekapaug Inn (nice but very pricey), and settled on The Break Hotel. We had seen it in drives along the coast and thought it would be worth trying, especially given mid-week pricing. Upon arrival, we loved the amenities, especially the neat, fresh, and clean suite and elected to stay for a second night. The only downside we experienced in our two night stay was not being informed that the 2nd night, a weekend night, was $50 more. While the manager would not adjust the bill, he did offer discounts off future stays and we fully plan to take advantage of that. However, it was not hard making the decision to add the extra night as the suite came complete with a great sitting area (has a pull out couch if needed), gas fired fireplace, desk area, pocket doors which close to separate the areas, double shower heads in large shower, heated bathroom floor, and two zones in the living areas for heat/AC. In room fridge and coffee maker round it out. We stayed for two nights at The Break in February during unseasonably warm weather. Evenings were still quite chilly but we still elected to enjoy the very well heated and clean outside salt water pool. Cold getting in and out but soooo relaxing while in. Easy access back to our 2nd floor suite made it extra fun. The Break also has two nice social options: a third floor bar that is cozy and set up in a way to allow you to relax with some privacy, or share a story with a stranger if you prefer. It has an outdoor deck with a great view of the ocean and the nearby Point Judith light. And on the first floor they have a small restaurant with a nice selection of offerings. The high point for us was the attention given to us by Chef Rose to my wife's food allergies, and my allergy to not eating food :). She made my wife very comfortable with a simple grilled chicken over pasta. And I left the choice of my dinner to the Chef. She responded with an outstanding Crispy Cauliflower made with kung pao sauce, cashews, peppers. Appropriately sweet and crispy with a great texture. Never had Cauliflower tasted that good. For the main course she offered a very generously supplied Cioppino made with saffron, tomato & lobster broth, mussels, littlenecks, market seafood, and house focaccia. I requested extra bread to sop up all of the outstanding broth!!! The main entry has a nice fireplace setup, with access to backgammon or chess, as well as a well maintained saltwater aquarium. Front desk and restaurant staff was extremely friendly and helpful, with the one exception being a very young person on Saturday morning who was pleasant but was less than accommodating in our request for a late check-out, only to catch himself and say that he was not going to chase us out. And he did not :) , which if in the future he can find a way to respond positively from the git go he will have happier guests. We stayed an extra 1/2 hour. Part of the reason for the delayed departure was to take advantage of the outstanding Tapas offering for breakfast, free for guests. They had everything from french toast, to celery stuffed with grapes and peanut butter, hard baked or soft baked eggs, exquisite mini-salads, fresh fruit, and much more. Also, the morning chef had been made aware of my wife's food allergies and gladly custom made her some very fresh eggs. We were thrilled. So yes, we will be back, and we encourage you to experience this jewel in Narragansett, at the end of Rhode Island. If not for a stay, then at least enjoy the restaurant and the roof top bar! read more

What a treat! This place exceeded my expectations, even in winter! The husband and wife running this place are so warm and kind it almost felt like a bed and breakfast. The room was beautiful and had a great vibe. The bar upstairs is wonderful and the same couple checking you in also makes a homemade breakfast in the morning. I'm used to seeing chic hotels on the west coast so it was nice to have an east coast beach town offer the same experience. I can't wait to return! read more

Heading up to RI for a quick 2 night holiday we found The Break on Hotel.com. I chose it for location, included breakfast and pool! Gorgeous, stunning little 16 room hotel. All teal and white and decorated like someones upscale beach house. Loved the retro fridge in hall way outside our room and the warm cookies. Free coffee,water and scones all day in lobby. We just returned from five days at The Break and can't wait to return! We had a wedding in Narragansett and I found The Break on Yelp. The hotel did not disappoint! They thought of everything when building this lovely establishment. USB ports at each nightstand and under the bar. Beautiful, comfortable rooms (we stayed in an ocean view suite - Room 204). My ONLY complaint with the room was the buffalo staying in the room above us for two nights. This person NEVER seemed to sit down between 6:00-8:00 a.m. The rest of the time, it was perfectly quiet. No noise from the other walls or hallway. Super spacious suite and bathroom. Comfortable king bed and soft sheets. We plan to go back every year (will book on the 4th floor next time to avoid buffalo.) Staff is super friendly. The rooftop bar is fabulous with music on Friday and Saturday nights. Yummy meals in Chair 5 for breakfast, lunch, and dinner as well as other restaurants in walking distance. read more

Went there to experience the roof deck bar. The bartender was awesome and the wait staff was taxed but had an awkward way of handling the tables outside. They were very friendly and helpful. The drinks were top notch but the view was disappointing. Much better views at other venues in Gansett. Again the staff was super as was our food but when you go to a place to enjoy the view....and the view is ehh...then so is the rating. read more

Where to even start! This is a true Lark experience turned up to 11. The hosts are fantastic and the hotel is absolutely hands down one of the most beautiful properties we've stayed at. It's a clear rival to the best of Newport the pictures don't do it justice. It's only been open 6 weeks and we could not believe how smooth the experience was. We didn't even expect some of the things this place has. Chair 5, the in house restaurant, is very, very, good. The bar is very well stocked. The pool is both heated and saltwater! The outdoor pool-house bathroom is insane, it has heated floors, inside showers, and the latest dyson hand dryers. That's the poorhouse bath!! The hotel is also just a mile or so from one of the nicest beaches on the east coast. It's steps to some great local food dives. We're always on a search for some of the latest and greatest places and don't go back to many places but are SURE to return to The Break!!! read more

My husband and I were looking for a cozy hotel in New England to spend New Years. The Break was fantastic! The colors and decor are just beautiful. It's in a quiet neighborhood (in the winter) and surrounded by beautiful homes. We stayed in a suite which had a gas fireplace that we used the whole time. The room was very modern and clean with special features like heated bathroom floors. The breakfast was very good and the restaurant very pretty. It's about 30 minutes from Newport. We enjoyed our stay very much and can't wait to stay at other Lark Hotels. read more

My only complaint about this hotel is that they do not have any employees on premises or at least available to respond to the telephone number posted in the lobby if a problem comes up during usual sleep hours. The second night of my stay at the hotel's oceanfront suite I woke at about 3:00 am because the room temperature had risen to over 80 degrees. I was very hot and uncomfortable and tried to adjust the room's thermostat to cool it down without success. I called the front desk but no answer. I left the room, went to lobby and searched for someone to help but no one was there. A card was displayed indicating a number to call if a problem arose and did call but no answer. The calls were followed up by text messages complaining that I couldn't sleep because room too hot. I spent over an hour seeking help that night but never received a response. I'm quite disappointed that I spent almost 500 to stay in a room far less comfortable than my air conditioned home 30 minutes away. When I contacted the hotel a week later they informed me that I complained too late completely disregarding the texts and messages left contemporaneous to the problem. read more

This place is beautiful! The roof deck has some of Narragansett's best views in town. Drinks and food are on point. Highly recommend for brunch and early evening drink. Only downside is that the roof deck closes at 10pm to be courtesy to guest staying below. read more

The general managers are incredibly welcoming and the staff reflects their hospitality. The hotel has a great airy beach house feel, but the roof top deck is what makes the hotel. Came back yesterday from a weekend there for a wedding. We absolutely loved it and can't wait to go back. I felt like I was in a boutique hotel in South Beach and not in Rhode Island. The first impression, was a beautiful, new hotel with each decor detail perfect. The check in was easy, they gave you IPADS which has recommendations and info you may need. We checked into our very clean room, again with the perfect decor. The king bed was so comfy, would have stayed all day. The bath shower was fantastic, the pressure of the shower heads and the light up mirror were a favorite. We also went up to the rooftop to have drinks, the view is of the ocean. And again, the decor, chairs and everything was great. The next morning we had a very healthy and gourmet breakfast, tried some new things. Hung out at the little pool all day. Another nice thing is that the hotel is within walking distance to a couple of food places (nothing fancy) so we grabbed lunch to go from Iggy's and came back and ate at the pool. Went to the wedding and actually came back with some guests for rooftop drinks. If I had any thing negative, it would be the bartender at the rooftop. She seemed extremely overwhelmed both night and not friendly. Maybe it was an off night for her, because the rest of the service (even from the restaurant) was above and beyond. read more

Needing a place to visit and catch up with friends from NYC, picked The Break figuring that RI was a decent 1/2 point. What a great decision! This has got to be one of the best finds. A boutique hotel, with gorgeous (and I mean 'gawgeous!!) water views from the 4th floor bar and lounge. It is a newly constructed building and the owners have scrimped on nothing. The interior design is fabulous, the amenities are amazing, and the rooms are stunning. Well appointed, well thought out and wonderfully spacious. A heated saltwater pool is a must try in the off season; with air temps in the 30s and water temp in the high 80s it's magical. The breakfast that is provided in the Chair5 Restaurant on site is the perfect size; small plates of delicious home made tasty creations. We had dinner in the restaurant one night and, here again, could not have made a better choice. Creative menu crafted by a terrific kitchen staff. And speaking of staff, this place is run by a fabulous team. From Manager on through to the waitstaff, everyone is realistically friendly, and helpful.
