The food was delicious, we both ordered the egg plate with soyrizo and it was great. The potato pancake it came with was flavorful and delicious too as well as the rosemary sourdough. Food came out nice and warm. Service was quick, friendly and the bar area with chandeliers is so pretty. Can't wait to visit again and try something else out. read more

If you have a craving for breakfast/brunch food, The Breakfast Bar is the place to go. I came here on a Sunday around noon with my cousin and only waited 5 minutes to be seated at the bar. For food, we shared a breakfast sandwich and pancakes. Both items were delicious and massive - the leftovers tasted just as good. The noise level is loud so I wouldn't recommend as a catch up spot but if your main priority is good food, this place is perfect. read more

I thought I've written a review but Yelp is telling me I have not haha. I've been to this place numerous times. I love me a good Sunday Funday, Preston is the guy to ask about delicious mimosa options. Service is always fast, friendly and they give you great recommendations. Ambiance is very casual, come here with your significant other, friend or group date. Sometimes even solo, they have good bar seating too! Love their plant based options, they have multiple, from carb overload to zero carbs. Highly highly recommend. Maybe Uber or walk? Boozy breakfast shots sometimes are calling your name.. read more

PARKING: Only street parking, but you can find open spots in lots across the street and/or residential. Recommend parking near the Dominoes lot across the street. AMBIENCE: Plenty of open seats, very clean, and not too loud. You seat yourself! Makes for a great casual brunch with a friend. I like it! I had a black cup of coffee which was a decent good black cup of coffee. The brand was called "Golden state" which I have not ever heard of but it was a good one (for you black cup of coffee drinkers) The decor is a retro-ish mix that feels very comfortable with a slight modern vibe mixed in. I came here for breakfast and the menu is extremely interesting, with unique descriptive creations for breakfast, and all the breakfast items on the menu are described and sound very delicious in my mind. I'm just solo today, so I can't order everything at one time, but I did order one appetizer and an entrée, although in the 21st-century appetizers are usually the size of entrées, oh well. The BB sliders with Turkey sausage, & Marcee's omelet. The sliders were sitting in a thick gravy with three little biscuits slider style with egg and cheese and turkey sausage which I chose. There were a variety of meats and vegetables to add to the omelette if you wanted. I liked it. The Omelette was like a soufflé or quiche like texture and taste, I enjoyed it. There was also a nice delicious aromatic cup of mixed fruit that was cut in some nice small pieces. There was also a potato pancake that was nice and fried crispy. So overall I had a very nice experience. They also serve lunch as well. This is a food stop you must come and check out. I enjoyed it very much and I don't think you'll be disappointed. I like this location a lot more than the ocean location. The food seems fresher and it tastes like how the ocean location used to be. I used to Love the ocean location, but something changed about them. The mini hungover bowl was my go-to, but their quality has gone down, which has led me to go to the 4th Street location. I tried to get my coworkers to like 4th street. We came after work, and though the place was empty and the food was great, the extremely slow service has convinced everyone to no longer visit this location. Look, I tried. I never had issues with service here before, but for some reason, the server we had, though very friendly, took forever to take our order and to give us the check. 4th street lost the business of the night shift crew read more

Stumbled upon this gem looking for early lunch and boy am I happy!! Beautiful interior with cozy sitting and full bar, nice decor that is just the right amount all create a welcoming ambiance. The staff is all very friendly, smiling and welcoming from the second I (and anyone else while I was in) step in. My waiter was Johnny - he has great disposition, very knowledgeable about the dishes and has amazing customer service. Went on a Saturday morning and was able to get a table no problem. Our server was John and he was AMAZING, super friendly and on top of everything. The Mocha Muchacho was sweet, delicious and you can get free coffee refills after you finish the initial drink. I ordered the chicken and waffles as an entree and it was pretty gosh darn good. Parking might be a little more difficult to find, but that a pretty common theme in LB. Overall, I'd high recommend this place. read more

Something you should know: the Breakfast Bar . . . is a bar. Along with the breakfast menu comes a cocktail menu. Took me awhile to clue into the format here. Very nice, comfortable neighborhood cafe. However, sidled up to the bar and was promptly greeted. Had the French toast, sausage, and scrambled eggs. This place is slammed on the weekend with malingering neighborhood diners nursing cocktails and . . . pancakes(?). Anyway, French toast was very good. Asked to hold the topping of fruit, which they forgot, but I nibbled through the strawberries anyway. Eggs were fine, and the sausage links were big, plump, and tasty. Did find a little bone in the sausage, so go easy on them. My only knock is the table syrup is rather bland. Real maple would have been perfect with such fine French toast. Worth mentioning since I'm giving it 5 stars. Forgot my phone, so no pics. read more

An old coworker of mine told me about the OG location in Downtown LB several years ago and it's always been bookmarked. We were in the area for my girlfriend's birthday and needed something to eat before we head to the aquarium. I saw that this location was open so we had to try it out. It was a Tuesday around noon time and there were only a couple tables filled up when we arrived. We sat ourselves and were helped out right away. Here's what we ordered: **Signature Cucumber Lemonade: This is the reason I came to this restaurant and I was impressed. I'm not the biggest fan of vodka but this lemonade really hit the spot. 110% recommended. **Signature Watermelon Lemonade: Wasn't the biggest fan of this but it did come with a huge slice of watermelon on the rim. Not as flavorful as the cucumber one but still refreshing. **Peach Belini: Good ratio of champagne and peach puree. Portions are huge. **Eggs-N-E-WAY (2 eggs over easy & turkey sausage): Everything was so basic but so delicious. The potato pancake was delicious and so was the house rosemary sourdough bread that they serve with butter. Ask for hot sauce on the side. The original (red) and jalapeno (green) are both very delicious and 110% recommended if you like a nice little kick of spice with your food. Staff was friendly, service was quick, and food/drinks were great! The only downside with our visit is that the tables next to the windows attracted many flies. read more

We needed a place to eat that offered breakfast, lunch AND vegan options in Long Beach on a Sunday afternoon and WOW did we find great options here! Our whole group of 7 was able to find just what they wanted. My Dad had the eggs, bacon toast plate. Me , the vegan, had the wonderful avocado on toast (they offer four vegan entrees). Three of my group got the chicken sandwich. My daughter got the lemon pancake - yep singular, next time she will go with the suggestion of adding scrambled egg to the dish. My husband got the grilled cheese with tomato soup- the soup was excellent. The food was all very tasty. Service was superior. Just a caution - with our large group we had a 50 minute wait to be seated. Yes, I would eat here again. It's very hip and loud. So not very easy to hear conversation with a bigger group like ours was. We did not clue in to the fact that this is a place that serves many types of alcohol for breakfast. And much better suited to groups of 2-4, it's a small place. read more

We moved our son into his new apartment and needed a place to eat before saying our "see you laters." The Breakfast Bar was only minutes away so we chose this spot based on convenience. They have a very small parking lot (we scored!) or street parking is available. The Breakfast Bar did not disappoint. The interior was retro chic and inviting (love the Tiffany blue walls and chandelier lighting) and our server was simply impressive! He was funny and friendly and made us feel very welcomed. He cracked jokes, made us laugh, and immediately we knew we were going to have a wonderful experience. After viewing the menu, we decided on the Waffle Combo and the French Toast Combo. The waffle had nice crispy edges and a light and fluffy texture. The turkey sausage was tasty and plentiful. But the homemade berry jam was the icing on top. It made our meal extra special. In addition, they make their own hot sauces as well. And if you want something with even more heat, they can give you something spicier! Although the French Toast was good, I didn't particularly love the choice of bread. Maybe I'm not used to sourdough as opposed to classic brioche. My husband ordered the French Toast and he enjoyed it. This place has a very casual neighborhood vibe. I'm glad to have stumbled upon such a fantastic breakfast spot. It's reasonably priced for the quality you get. And the staff can't be beat. We're sure to come back when we're visiting our son in Long Beach. read more

Great service! I was waiting for my friend to show up and I was asked if I wanted to order like 3 times lol. They were busy too! But I waited and my friend finally came. They came around twice before we finally ordered. I ordered the eggs Noni and it was delicious the potato pancake was bomb it has cheese. An amazing, perfect brunch spot in the LB. Good amount of seating / space with a bar to sit at as well. Our waitress was great and we took her preferred recombinations and it did not disappoint. I had the breakfast burrito with soy chorizo for my choice of meat & potato pancake on the side. For my drink i had broth the Mimosa and Irish Coffee. 10/10 dish overall, seriously delicious!!! My friend got the Meatloaf steak with the potato pancake. He commented verbatim, "I fu****g loved it". Our waitress also gave us their house hot sauces which were really good hot sauces. It definitely added flavor & spice to our dishes. Parking adjacent to the restaurant on fourth street is very limited as an FYI. We definitely plan on coming back again! read more

The food is above average for diner/breakfast food. This particular restaurant has a more upscale ambience than the counterpart on Atlantic. The only reason why I'm giving a low review is the pricing for drinks. Whose decision was it to charge 6 dollars for soda and 7 dollars for orange juice? Do they think we're at a michelin star restaurant? Is there some sort of outage on sodas? You do realize this will just make me tip LESS to compensate for that ridiculous pricing right? Hope the owner sees this! :) read more

This place was excellent! First, the vibe. Super chill. They had 80s music on and it was bright enough to get you excited but not so loud you were yelling across the table. Service was excellent. I have NO idea what the host was saying to us as he sat us and I felt bad because I think he was making recommendations...maybe. It was partially because I was distracted with taking in the decor. The food was delicious. I loved my potato cake. I liked my eggs Benedict. Only problem was my poached eggs were cooked just a tad too long and the yolks didn't run at all. They were cooked through. So, minus a star for that. I had a taste of my friend's brown toffee butter pancakes and they were to-die-for! I guess I'm just wishing I 'checked in' so I coulda tried a coffee drink like my friends did. They looked delicious. Guess that means I'll just have to go back! read more

We dined here Saturday morning around 8am. This was our first time here and there were several tables occupied but surprisingly, it wasn't busy. There is a small parking lot next door and if you're not lucky to park there, there's street parking available. Interior decor is very nice. Kind of has that retro meets modern vibe. The bar looks beautiful with the tile backsplash and their bathrooms were clean. The food was good. I ordered the 2 eggs any way with soy chorizo, a potato pancake and rosemary toast. I liked everything on my plate except the soy chorizo. That was the least favorite thing on my plate. The hubby ordered the country fried chicken corn flake breakfast and he ate it all which meant he liked it. I'm giving The Breakfast Bar 4 stars because they have the best almond milk chai latte I've had in a while and we enjoyed the food and would try other things on their menu. However, the customer service leaves much to be desired. read more

Our original location at 70 Atlantic opened in November 2013. Here at the corner of 4th street and Redondo Ave opened February 14 2022 The ground up remodel inspired a new look and fresh atmosphere.

Meet the Business Owner: Joshua and Pamela B.

Hello, our names are Josh and Pamela Beadel and we are your new neighbors at 70 Atlantic. We have both worked and lived in downtown Long Beach for the past eleven years and are very excited to make 70 Atlantic our new home. We have been married for 11 years and it has always been our dream to work together and to build our own restaurant. Our experience has led us to work for some amazing companies in Long Beach and the Los Angeles area. Both of us were managers for the Vault 350, which was a live music venue on 4th and Pine. Pamela was a General Manager for George's Greek Café for the last eight years and Josh has worked at the Conga Room at LA Live, Congregation Ale House at the Promenade in Long Beach and at Brix in Sunset Beach. We LOVE Long Beach and are so excited to be making our dream come true here.

The menu appears to rotate regularly, and while the drinks were certainly unique, most of the cocktails we tried were hit or miss. At roughly $22 per drink, I expected more balance and refinement. One cocktail started with flavors reminiscent of an Old Fashioned, but after the initial sip, the combination of bitters and fruit syrups created an unpleasant cough syrup like finish. We tried a mocktail as well, and it was mostly ice and soda water, with what seemed like a collection of syrups doing most of the heavy lifting. The drinks were creative, but many of the flavor profiles felt disjointed rather than intentional. The biggest issue, however, was the bar service and sanitation practices. I watched a bartender place a cucumber garnish into a glass using his bare hands, touching the entire garnish in the process. He then continued to take credit cards, cash, and other items before stuffing ice into additional drinks with his bare hands. Whether or not this technically violates health code standards, it certainly wasn't appetizing to watch and left a poor impression. Parking is another challenge. There is no dedicated parking, and unless you get lucky, expect to park several blocks away and walk. Overall, the atmosphere is a lot of fun and the cocktail menu is ambitious, but the drinks didn't justify the price point, and the sanitation concerns were hard to overlook. I wouldn't rush back, especially given the cost and parking difficulties.

Reservations are fairly easy to get, which make it an optimal choice if I'm looking to have a nice meal. The ambiance of Saint & Second is what sets it apart from other Belmont Shore restaurants. There's indoor seating and rooftop seating upstairs, and both areas are designed impeccably. The food menu changes every few months, which is great because it allows the chefs to experiment with new menu items, but I have been left missing past items. When I returned for the third time for my favorite hummus, I found that it was discontinued for a nice, but less tasty green hummus (which leaned more into an avocado flavor than traditional hummus flavor). Overall, if you'd like to return to Saint and Second, you should expect some changes to menu items every few months and plan accordingly. One appetizer I'd recommend is the tuna on crispy rice. This is a consistent item with great flavors that trump other tuna crispy rice dishes I've had at other restaurants. The amount of fish on this item is generous. If you are celebrating your birthday here like I did, they offer a delcious smores-flavored dessert. However, this dessert is not complimentary, and we were charged without the server informing us of the dessert's price. Overall, in terms of food, this restaurant offers a fresh array of menu items.
