    Breakfast burrito with potatoes
    Emily M.

Delish! There was about a 45 minute wait for our party of 2, which was to be expected on a Sunday morning. It was worth the wait, though! The breakfast burrito was delicious, especially the sausage inside of it. It tasted homemade. The potatoes were great, too! Even though it was crowded, it wasn't loud. Plenty of seating.

Can't wait to come back here! I loved the look of the inside - nicely done and a relaxing color scheme with nice light fixtures and a nice color of leather in the booths. The booths were spacious and comfortable, as well. The food was delicious and we got a great amount for our money. We had wonderful service. Even when a glass was accidentally broken by a waitress at our table: they made it right immediately.

The food was great service great as well the only thing that is well ... a stickler is parking .. it truly on a corner so if u can't find a spot in the lot out front u can usually find one close within the neighborhood.. clean well lit and good food couldn't ask for anything more

Three Little Piggies - Granola & Banana Pancake - side of potatoes and OJ
    Keith J.

I was amazed how fantastic the food was at the Breakfast Corner in South City. It's definitely is now one of my new favorite go-to places for breakfast and brunch after this first visit. I ordered the three little piggies plate that came with a biscuit sliced in half underneath the layers of pulled pork, chorizo gravy, a couple slices of bacon, and two eggs your way that for me were scrambled and went on top. I got an extra side of potatoes and my brother and I split a granola & banana pancake that tasted killer. Coffee with free refills was good, service is pleasant and the restaurant is a pretty cool space inside and out. I hope to be back soon.

Food was good, we had to ask if they had Bloody Marys or mimosas because it wasn't on the menu. The waitress was nice enough and it was a great space!

Amazing service, amazing atmosphere, amazing food. Came here on a crisp Sunday morning with my girlfriend for brunch. When we arrive, there was like a 20 minute wait, which actually was 20 minutes. The lobby had plenty of seating for us to wait in. Once we were seated, we were greeted and our server was so sweet and pleasant. She was so patient while we figured out what we wanted to order and was really helpful in helping us decide. I opted for the Smashburger with soup of the day, which was White bean and chicken I believe. My friend got a waffle, eggs, bacon, and a fruit cup. The waffle was delicious soft and buttery, the bacon and potatoes were perfect. The potatoes were hot in season two perfection! However, my friend said her eggs were not good. I don't eat breakfast eggs, so I can't even give my opinion. Another small (huge) con is that they don't have alcoholic beverages! Our server said they're working on their liquor license. Either way I'll definitely be back.

For a breakfast spot this place did really well. As others stated the outside is a little deceiving as it's rather large inside. I got there about 10:15 on a Saturday and it was busy but my table was ready fairly quickly. Since they were busy the kitchen got backed up so it did take about 30 minutes to get my food which I don't believe is typical for them. The service was good and attentive, the space is open and bright and they have a good amount of seating. The food was great. I got the breakfast sandwhich which comes with a side, I got potatoes. They were cooked well, the potatoes had onions which i love. The sandwich had delicious buttery bread , egg cooked perfect and crunchy bacon, not fatty or limp! I also had a caramel macchiato, which all came to under $20. Honestly such a great spot and will be back .

Yes and Yes! I'm super excited to have located a new favorite for Breakfast! From the outside the space looks small, but it's not. Quoted a 30 min wait for 3 around 11a on a Sunday and it took maybe 15 min. Booth seats, very comfortable. Space is super clean, friendly staff and the bsck/white photos of StL landmarks was a nice touch. The Corner Breakfast with Waffle add Harvest toppings, crispy bacon, eggs scrambled with American and potatoes. Potatoes are my favorite food and when I tell you at the first bite I was hooked, you best know it's true! Crispy bits, onions and balanced seasoning! The waffle was amazing! Slightly crispy outside with soft middle, thr banana and strawberry topping with a little syrup was a wonderful delight. Perfectly cooked eggs and bacon rounded out the meal. At under $15, this was a huge value!!! Excited to try other menu options!

    The country sampler so good!!
    Judy D.

This was my first visit to the breakfast corner. And it was well worth the drive from Lake St. Louis. I asked the server for recommendations and their most popular country sampler at everything I went with scrambled eggs, potatoes that are perfectly seasoned. Classic French toast and chicken sausage. It was amazing. Literally the best breakfast I've had. This is also a very nice restaurant inside not like a typical diner, comfy boost, and chairs at the tables. Great service food came out fast and hot. Everything was outstanding and delicious even if you don't live in the area. It is worth the drive.

I came here early this morning to check this place out and it didn't disappoint I'm not sure what the place used to be before but it looks really nice inside and you can tell it's new. I sat at the bar (per usual) and was immediately given water. After a couple mins, I decided on the pesto chicken bowl and a piece of toast (surprise surprise). I get the bartender was making drinks but even when I tried to make eye contact to let her know I was ready to order, it took forever. Once she did put it in, the wait was minimal and they finally brought my food. The pesto and chicken combo were clutch. While the potatoes were good, the dish probably could have gone without it. The piece of bread I had was good as well. The dish itself is filling and I certainly enjoyed it. They've got a lot of great things to choose from, which gives me an excuse to go back!

This place gets pretty packed on the weekends, but I love to see it! While waiting to be seated during my most recent visit, I ordered coffee at the bar area, and it was great having something to sip on before getting sat at my table. I had a brown sugar shaken espresso, and it was so yummy. Staff is so incredibly friendly and hardworking. The inside is so bright, clean, modern, and trendy. Such good vibes! I feel like you really can't go wrong with anything on the menu. Highly recommend the avocado toast. The bread is fresh and soft but still has a nice little crunch. All of the fruit I had in both my side dish and on top of my waffle was perfectly ripe. The chocolate chip pancake is HUGE. In my opinion, it could've used just a few more chocolate chips on top, but that's only because I'm a chocolate enthusiast and can never seem to have enough! But out of all the food I've tried here, the POTATOES... oh my gosh. Cooked to absolute perfection. I'm definitely going to check out some of their lunch menu next time I visit since I've only had their breakfast items!

The food was delicious. It couldn't been service a bit hotter and the omelet a bit softer, but it was good. Roomy, clean dining room, friendly staff, and fast service.

I've been wanting to come here for a minute and so happy I did. Great attentive service. Such a spacious, bright and cheerful place. Awesome menu. We ordered the Classic Benny and Chicken Pesto.that Chicken pesto Skillet was the TRUE STAR of the table. Tender potatoes and seasoned with plenty of pesto, hands down a winner!

3 little piggies had great flavor just wish it would have been hotter

Songbird makes great use of its space and should be near the top of your STL brunch list. A reasonably-sized (not-overwhelming) menu, great coffee, delicious cocktails, quick, attentive service, and undeniably delicous food. I took off on a redeye this morning (coffee courtesy of Blueprint), and landed on the Farm Sampler: two scrambled eggs, applewood smoked bacon, sourdough toast, sliced avocado and sauteed shiitake mushrooms. Phenomenal flavors and textures. Toast is typically an afterthought for me, but the buttery crunch of the sourdough has to be spotlighted. The Bee's Knees cocktail was also a wonderfully refreshing prelude to the approaching STL summer. The time has come, the song is over, thought I'd something more to say: wake up, reserve, enjoy.

I was very excited to try them but left knowing I would not return. I waited 40 minutes on a weekday morning for a bar seat for one, standing because all the waiting area seats were taken. The hostess/waitress was very nice when she got to me, but you could tell that the amount of customers was simply too much to handle. Now, this was okay - I should have made a reservation, and it's not the staff's fault they were overwhelmed. However, the service once I sat down was patchy, delayed and distracted. I had to remind different servers of my presence, multiple times. I was willing to overlook this if the food had been fantastic, but unfortunately, their most popular item, the combo breakfast sandwich, was so incredibly heavy. The first bite was crispy, oily and fatty deliciousness, but by the third bite it was simply too rich. The sweet overtone of the honey was lovely but did not cut through the grease. By the time I finished half, I understood why several diners had left the other half uneaten. My personal preference is for a fresh, umami yet balanced sandwich that does not make me feel queasy after finishing it. This was not the sandwich for me. There was a long delay after I finished eating for them to bring me the check. My whole meal took around 2.5 hours. I had arrived starving and, I like to think, with an open mind. These are my honest, unfiltered observations. It is wonderful that so many people want to try their food and that their new space is bigger. Their decor, glassware and menu were cute and tasteful. I also love that they grew from a farmers market food stall and that they source their ingredients locally. With their level of popularity, I think they should focus on preserving the quality of their service and food.

We thought we had to wait for a long time, but it actually went quick (like 5 minutes) when we got there. We did not realize this place had an upstairs, until our waiter guided us. This place looks very large on the inside compared to what it looks like on the outside. The restaurant also had an rustic atmosphere. With exposed pipes, rusted decor, and 80's memorabilia on the shelf. We ordered coffee here, and one of them came in a Christmas cup. Even though it was six months away. My wife chuckled on how they served her coffee in a Christmas cup. Mine came in a plain white cup. But I still excessively chuckled on how funny the menu is and the staff are. The staff are very attentive to how your food tastes and make plenty of funny jokes with you. They also are very descriptive on what the specials on pancakes and omelettes are. As well as being very honest. I ordered the Benny's Got Beef Or Belly with Brisket. I know, long name. I watched the weather while my food was being prepared, and occasionally looking at the PBS TV nearby. My wife was drawing with my 11 year old daughter (and writing "secret messages") as their food was being prepped and prepared. When my food finally came out, I immediately took a bite. The brisket was very juicy and tender. And the eggs were delicious on the side. I tried this place several years ago. Was still the same good taste that I remember when I took my wife to this place. Very amazing place. Will come again.

Instead, we took time to get ready and I even ran a few errands before checking in with the host. When I did check in, he let me know there would be another 15-20 minutes before a table was ready. It was a chilly day and sort of drizzly the day we went, so we had to hang out inside to wait for the table which was a little awkward, but we made it work. Once our table was ready, we had a server who brought over water and coffee right away. She even told us about the specials for the day and my friend and I were sold with the poached pear pancakes! After a few minutes, our server came back and we placed our orders and also asked for some refils of our drinks. When the food was delivered to the table, it was hot and fresh and looked amazing. My friend and I shared the pancakes and were so happy to be able to sample both kinds. While my other friend went with a more healthy meal of eggs with bacon and an english muffin. Our server came over to check in on us a few times and made sure we were good. When it was time to pay the bill, we took care of htat quickly and were on our way. Honestly, the wait sucks for this spot, but the food delivers everytime and I recommend visiting for brunch if you are in the area. Just be sure to get on the waitlist or else you will be told a crazy wait time upon arrival.

Whether it is the quaintly appointed guest…read morerooms or the delightful library and parlor, each area of this former residence is unique and meticulously maintained. While it is not likely the norm, the owners, Mark & Leslie, met us at the front door, quite literally inviting us into their establishment. It was simply the most welcoming manner in which to be introduced to this treasure and Leslie quickly engaged us with the history of the home and how she and Mark had recently become the owners. We chose this destination based upon the significance of the Fleur-de-lis to my love, a native New Orleanian. Given St. Louis' rich French heritage, the mansion was originally outfitted with four chimneys that feature the fleur-de-lis design and the pattern is repeated throughout the home. While we enjoyed a quiet morning coffee in the back of the property, a lovely shaded patio area, she noticed how many places the symbol was present. She actually made mention to Mark & Leslie that they could make an activity out of counting/finding all of the fleur-de-lis around the home. What a fun idea! We were fortunate enough to book the Tower Grove Park room, a spacious room fitted with a king-size bed and a two-person jacuzzi tub. There is even a 'fainting couch' for that extra French touch! The bed was amazingly comfortable and the decor and accoutrements were exceptional, right down to the pocket doors and writing desk. But a B&B is set apart by the fare served in the morning, and this is where Mark, a chef by trade, and Leslie, a self-taught baker, knock it out of the park. That morning's menu included a fruit starter, fresh juice, Leslie's home-baked sourdough toast and home-baked English muffins, and Mark's egg and sausage soufflés with country potatoes. The entire breakfast had us completely over the moon! We felt so at home that we wanted to clear our own place - so we did! The rates are competitive and well worth every moment spent here. There is parking behind the property, as well as across from the property, and each guest is allowed a unique security code so as to gain entry while you are enjoying your stay. I can't say enough about how much we enjoyed this getaway, and Mark, Leslie, & assistant Sammy made us feel like family from the moment we crossed the threshold. We'll be back - and you should give Fleur-de-Lys a try!
