Huge Sanford Special breaded pork tenderloin sandwich and burger did not disappoint! The portions were massive, packed with flavor, and definitely worth the price. Service was fast, friendly, and our server recommended trying their homemade sauce with the breaded pork tenderloin and wow, it took it to another level. So good! Their homemade chips were also pretty good.

Nachos

The service is always incredible and friendly! The drinks are always a bit mid, sorta what you'd have at a dive bar. This time I had the Nachos (added chicken) and they were good - mostly because instead of the traditional tortilla chips, they gave their home thin potato chips! I like the vibe here though, it's cozy and, yeah--breezy baby.

Stopped in for lunch and the place was completely empty @ 12pm but we stuck it out and ordered. The food was fantastic & the pork sandwich I ordered was as big as a bowling ball. I've never seen anything like it. The pork was really good and cooked perfectly. We will be going back

Hurricane

Just did a little stop here before going back home, and I ordered a Hurricane, and it was so good. The bartender did a great job, and she was very chill. The location outside is nice. I didn't try the food, but it looked and smelled very good

Grilled grouper with Brussels

Sat the the patio great vibe and atmosphere. I had the grilled grouper with seasonal vegetables and it was flaky and delicious. All the other food that we ordered was great as well. The staff could not be any better friendly, and attentive. You can tell that practically everything here is house made down to the salad dressing!

This restaurant is only busy because either people ignore obvious violations, don't care, or just are not aware. On the surface, this looks like a great place; however, the things I saw and experienced is appalling! Customers must go outside at the back of the restaurant to the restrooms. This entails walking across a large area of brick colored tile, which was so greasy that it was an accident waiting to happen! When I reached (very carefully) the ladies room there was no AC. There were no paper towels, only a hand dryer. Most of the floor was wet, the tiny sink counter was covered with water and here comes the worst part... I went to flush the toilet and the toilet lifted off the floor. NO, I'm not kidding. They also had a large plastic bin on the floor catching water from the leaking toilet which was half full. On my way back from the restroom on the inside of the restaurant, there is a doorway on the left where you can take a glimpse into the kitchen. One look and you think to yourself, doesn't the Florida Health Board ever visit this place. Our server, Jacob was very cordial, but a couple of things he needs to do: First, stop preaching religion to your customers. Secondly, be more attentive. The food we ordered was very delicious, but honestly I was very hesitant on eating it after witnessing what the kitchen looked like. Now, as long as I have been a Yelper, I have to admit that up until today, I had no idea that you can go to Yelp, look up a restaurant, scroll down to information and read information from the health department on their reports of a particular restaurant. Had I known this ahead of time, my husband and I would have never, ever eaten at The Breezeway. From now on, I will be checking any and all restaurant health reports before eating at a restaurant. The health department reports on The Breezeway is NOT GOOD! BEWARE!

Yummy Spicy Bloody Mary's

In town for a concert at Tuffy's and upon arrival, we were looking for a lunch spot in the Historic District. We chose to sit at the outside bar and Louis was our bartender/server. Very friendly and answered several questions about the area and things to do. Pet friendly as we made a pet friend at the bar. We each ordered a spicy Bloody Mary and ordered the Breezeway Tacos to share with blackened mahi that was amazing. Large portion of mahi! Definitely a wonderful breeze on a warm day - hence the name of the restaurant! When in town again, we'll definitely choose to go back.

The Rand Sandwich

Great option, service was quick, grabbed a bite before a show and had limited time. Outdoor seating was comfortable, and enjoyed the singer that was performing. I enjoyed my eggplant parm sandwich, I chose a side of coleslaw. We've dined before, no complaints what we've tried. Generous portions, reasonable prices.

I have now eaten here with a friend. I had the Breezeway burger. I asked if it came with anything? She said I could get coleslaw or fries. She did not say there was a $3 upcharge for the fries. (Until I got the bill and asked why the price was wrong.) The burger and fries were good. My friends Italian sandwich (I forget what they call it), she pronounced "okay". She also got the fries.

Loved this place. Big fish sandwich loves up to its name. Great patio and they are dog friendly. Always a plus in my book.

Great place for a drink and live music. I have mixed feelings on the food. The sandwiches are huge, but they need more flavor.

Ask the Community - The Breezeway

Do they take reservations?

May I bring my small dog and sit outside? She's very docile and fully trained.

Yes you can. Just make sure to let the hostess know.

When is happy hour and what does it include?

This is no happy hour. Would be really awesome if they had one ,but no

Can someone with a seafood allergy eat here?

Yes. They have non seafood items such as burgers. They have an extensive menu. Many seafood dishes but also offerings for land lovers. My best recommendation are their cocktails. You only need one and drink it slowly

Well balanced flavors and textures. Our server Justin was very attentive and helpful the entire night. He helped us decide everything from drinks and appetizers to entrees and desserts. He was very knowledgeable, descriptive, and accurate on his recommendations. The ambiance is perfect for a date night, drinks with friends, or any event really. They have lots of tables, a large bar, and even a private area if you have the need for it. We got two mocktails because we were participating in dry January. I got the passion fruit Boat Drinks and my wife got the Hibiscus Nojito. Both drinks were really good! To start we got the French Onion soup and the Pig and the Bee flatbread. Both were really tasty. The French Onion soup was nicely balanced with the perfect amount of cheese on top. Next time we'll ask for more croutons. The flatbread was delicious!! It was the thinnest, crispiest flatbread I've ever had with the right amount of toppings. The salty and savory meats with the drizzle of hot honey was perfect. For entrees my wife got the Sweet Potato Gnocchi with Shrimp and I got the Staff Meal which happened to be a Chicken and Bacon carbonara...the gnocchi was incredible. The textures and flavors were amazing. The carbonara was really good too but the gnocchi stole the show. For dessert we got a latte and a cappuccino and got the Cherry Cobbler to go. I reheated the cobbler in a ramekin in my air fryer, it was so delicious!! We will definitely be back!

I've never been to a place that serves a classic American farm breakfast without offering butter or preserves for the toast, and to make matters worse, the toast itself was burnt. The food overall was bland and uninspired. When one of us asked for jelly and butter, our server seemed genuinely surprised and confused by the request. He eventually brought the butter out cold and completely unspreadable. This is yet another mid-to-upscale wannabe restaurant that got the most important thing wrong. Save yourself the disappointment and skip this one. You'll thank me later.

Had to get bloodwork done at 6:30am, so afterwards we were close to here and craving breakfast, so it was a no-brainer to stop in here. Having been born and raised in Mississippi, I am always on the hunt for some good southern homestyle cooking and I for sure found it here. First, everything about the outside and inside of the restaurant reminded me of all the lil mom and pop restaurants I was raised going to. Great nostalgia for me. Now was the food going to live up to what the place looked like?? YES! So I went in craving breakfast and then what did my little eye spy on the menu? An open-faced roast beef sandwich and they service breakfast and lunch all day? Well, yes, please and thank you! Forget brekkie, I went straight for that open-faced roast beef with fried and all of it covered in gravy. OH MY! I'm talking this is the kinda food that (as we say in the Deep South) makes you wanna slap your momma! The bread was piled high with fresh roast beef. The fries were steak fries which are my favorite. The gravy topping everything was just the chef's kiss to set everything off! So many things I want to try on the menu, but I think it's going to be a while before I order anything other than that open-faced roast beef! Hubby had scrambled eggs, toast, hash (his fav brekkie food and he asked for it crispy - they delivered), and breakfast potatoes. He said everything was great and that it's the best hash he's had. I have never been a fan of hash, but I always try it. This has I would definitely eat. It was good. Can't say I'd order it myself because I'm just not a fan, but if this is the breakfast that was served to me, I definitely wouldn't turn my nose up at it. Anyway, two big thumbs up from hubby. Wheelchair friendly. Clean restrooms. Great service from our attentive and sweet server. Food came out very fast. I also much mention the Diet Coke. You know how some are just better from certain fountains? Yes, this was one of those cold fountain Coke's that was just so good. It really hit different. I ordered water as per usual because I try to not drink soda too much, especially while I eat, but hubby mentioned how good it was so, of course I had to try it. He was right. Very good indeed. If you are in the area, don't miss out on this lil restaurant. You will not be disappointed! The only negative thing I can say is they are only open until 3pm on weekdays and only until 2pm on the weekends. Guess that's a good complaint though. LOL Sure wish they were open for dinner too b/c we'd really be eating here a lot!!
