While visiting Tampa, my wife and I decided to try this place as she is a vegetarian and their menu showed many options. We were not disappointed. The service and food were both excellent. I had the BIg and Pig sandwich which was a wonderful combination of sweet and savory. My wife had the Potbelly which she said was the best portobello sandwich she had ever had. Tucked away in Ybor City is this hipster hideaway full of eclectic art and interesting food. We started with the roasted garlic hummus, bruschetta, and brickin nuggets. They were all great but the bruschetta was the very best. It came with some sort of magical dipping sauce that we could have drunk from a glass. For my meal, I chose the bird and pig. Roasted chicken, bacon, Brie, crisp apple, agave nectar, pressed Hawaiian sweet bread. In a word? Amazing. Went back for lunch the next day to try the Elvis, a toasted sandwich with peanut butter, bananas, honey, and bacon. Delicious! I will be back! Again! read more

I've been only a couple times so far, but from what I know so far, I'm a fan. I liked the hummus appetizer and their Bloody Mary. Last time I was there I learned they keep a small garden on the rooftop. I immediately swooned over this, of course. The bartender let me try the hot sauce they were making with the peppers grown up there on the roof. So spicy -- but lots of good flavor. From what I gathered, they also grow herbs so they can use fresh mint in their mojitos and such. I like the sandwich bar setup in the back, and they have pretty good happy hour deals. Also like the fact that it is so spacious, I don't think it would ever really feel too crowded in there. On my next visit I want to try one of the wacky peanut butter sandwich combos they have on the menu. I heard the black bean burger's a must-try as well. So far I really like The Bricks and I'm looking forward to my next visit. read more

Came here twice while in town for the national championship game. The wait staff was outstanding and the food was delicious. The pork tacos are great for an appetizer. Can't go wrong with any of the sandwiches. Also, the fact that they make lattes is a game changer for me and my wife. read more

A fun semi-hipster bar with good ambiance, plenty of space, solid food and classic jazz. I came for lunch and settled in to work for an hour on their fast, free wifi. The Greek salad was fine--could have had a bit more salt, and the feta was closer to cotija--but the basil vinaigrette was very good, with loads of fresh herb flavor coming through. (They charge for extra dressing, so watch out.) Upcharge for adding protein to salad was not worth it; get a sandwich instead. That said, the brisket was respectable as well. read more

Food was good, only reason I'm putting 4 stars instead of 5 is because we weren't told upfront there was a 10% takeout fee for our order. Seems a little silly to charge more for to-go than for table service, I can't think of any other restaurant that does that. We checked this place out in Ybor since it was right down the street from the music venue we were going to later that night. Since I come from Sarasota I'm not used to seeing eclectic, young, artsy places like this, so right off the bat I was thrilled. Loved the decor, the seating areas, the mix of patrons. The two different servers were interacted with were both nice. The first one just simply letting us know they were switching over shifts and that our server would be with us in just a second. I cant remember her name but she was great! Really easy going, helpful, and gave us plenty of time and space to just enjoy our drinks and food without feeling rushed or bothered. The hummus was the best I'd ever had, but the veggies it came with were just a little lacking. The cucumbers were soft and a little dried out. I really didn't care too much since the hummus was so great. We had some time to kill before the show, so it was great that our server really let us take our time before placing our orders for the meal. I got the black bean burger and my boyfriend got something named after birds or chickens or pigs, something like that! I loved my black bean burger. Though it was a little spicy for me (only because I'm a hugggee spice-wuss. I don't even like black pepper cause it burns my mouth.) I had even gotten it sans-the spicy ketchup but apparently there was a bit of a kick in the burger itself. Luckily I had gotten the potato salad as my side which was refreshing and saved my taste buds from burning up. Jake really enjoyed his sandwich as well, although he ended up taking the apple slices out. He has a weird thing with fruit being in any of his meals. Not that he doesn't like it. He just doesn't like it on sandwiches or in his salad or anything. Regardless he devoured the rest of the sandwich. Overall this place was really cool, good food, and awesome vegetarian options on the menu. If I lived in Tampa this would definitely be a place I'd hang out at. read more

Had lunch with my teenager at this funky skateboard shop-gone-gourmet joint in Ybor and loved it! He actually wanted to order another breakfast sandwich special it was so good. If we're talking solely about the food, this place is definitely a great find! The bird & pig is one of the best sandwiches I have had. My wife and parents got the taco Tuesday special and absolutely loved the brisket taco, in fact they all said these were the best tacos they've ever had hands down. The chips and salsa were also a great eat too. The atmosphere is a bit loud though with the music, so if you just spent an entire day at Busch Garden then it may not be the best of places to go. The waitress that served us was on her game tonight. The menu is kind of limited to say the least but whatever you decide to try, I'm sure you'll absolutely love it. read more

The pork tacos of destiny were very tasty, but were served to me cold (due to not enough wait staff) and they were very tiny, more an appetizer portion than "dinner" or "lunch."
