Right off, buffets are my happy place. The thought of paying one price and eating exactly what I want, and how much I want... heaven. I'm happy to see that Excalibur's Buffet is still open because it's one of the last on the strip and I fear it won't be long until it's a memory too. But, for now, let's celebrate with any sort of beverage, breakfast or lunch you can imagine. I usually go on the weekdays and generally there's no line, or a very short line. The staff have always been cheerful and really make this experience special. Can you get homemade pancakes and omlets? Yes. Can you get a hamburger... well... no. Pasta? Yes. Mexican? Chinese? Yes and yes. I feel it's worthwhile because I like small tastes of a variety of food. Because the space is so large, I never feel crowded and there's always lots to choose from even towards the end of the buffets meal day, around 2pm. I stayed at the Excalibur and thought it would be a good opportunity to try out another Vegas buffet to compare to the ones I like, but pay a lot for. I went for their weekday brunch during lunchtime and had the bottomless drinks. I mostly had mimosas, but you could get beer, wine, or simple cocktails, and the max time is 90 minutes. The staff was nice and friendly, and they picked up used plates. You can pick up your bottomless drinks at the bar, and the bartender was pretty cool. I don't think there was anything remarkable about the venue, but I'd say it's like a cross between a Denny's diner interior and a fancy cafeteria, without much of a signature look or item, except for a castle figure by the desserts. The food was alright, and nothing really stood out. The section is fewer than the premium buffets, but that's not what you're going for here. They had a waffle maker. read more

I was so excited to go to the buffet. I LOVE me a GOOD buffet. Unfortunately, I've had better. It was decent! I think this buffet is one of the cheaper prices you can get on the strip for a buffet. We stayed in the Luxor on our trip so this buffet was the closest to our hotel. We went around 10am and I was really hoping for lunch foods and they had a lot of options! Of course they also had a lot of breakfast options and I tried some of those as well. It was hit or miss. The breakfast sausage was not good, very undercooked and I actually had to spit it out but that was the only truly "bad" thing I had. The potato salad was randomly super good. And I thought the Chinese food options were decent as well. They had a lot of soda and juice options. I enjoyed staying at the Excalibur Casino & Hotel so much, I had to try the buffet. We woke up early and stumbled after a fun night to this buffet. So early, they didn't open until 7... thank goodness, we were only 5 minutes early. A line quickly built up behind us. As the clock struck 7, the rope was opened and we went in. We paid by card and needed to wait to be seated. That didn't take long, but we found out booth on the large dining room and were off! When you first walk in, there were pastries, rolls, and desserts near the entrance. Towards the back was all the rest of the food. There was quite the selecting... fried chicken, breakfast, fried rice, sushi, smoked salmon with onions and capers... ribs, grilled chicken, carved ham... it looked gorgeous. An omelet station made to order. Very nice! I really enjoyed the smoked salmon with the onions and capers. I could've eaten that all day! Since it was Saturday, we had unlimited mimosas!!!! Thanks to Alfredo, he kept the drinks pouring. Service was good. We almost always had someone clearing our table. However, many of their items seemed like they were out for a bit. The fried chicken for my friend, the grilled chicken for me. The country fried steak pieces, ribs... although we were close to the first ones there, the food had been sitting there for a little bit. The ribs, spicy grilled chicken, and fried chicken were dried out. We noticed the desserts had hard crusts around all the edges from drying out. The breakfast muffins also didn't seem fresh. That was disappointing. Overall, I had a great experience here. I'm not one for the pastries and muffins for breakfast, but my other half was. I enjoyed the service, the smoked salmon, the unlimited mimosas.... and the ribs that were not so dried out that I was able to eat. I would absolutely come back here... maybe I won't be first in line, though. It's a good buffet to go to if you're staying at the Excalibur. It's 39 dollars per adult. The service is top tier though, they are the sweetest. The buffet itself is okay. I wish they had more breakfast options; especially since they close at 2pm. They have an all you can drink alcohol for only 20 bucks, that's not bad. Arrived on a wed around 1pm. Obviously not making any more breakfast items, but they are still available on the buffet. Those items looked old. Nothing was very good. No egg / omelette station, as they were carving turkey. They turkey was badly overcooked and dry. The American section had mashed potatoes and pork chops in gravy. The pork, dispute sitting in gravy was very dry. I did not try the pizza. They had some McDonald style nuggets covered in what they called orange chicken sauce. Gross. There was some dried out taquitos. Didn't try them. And a salad section. Didn't touch it. There was a bar that advertised $20 all you can drink. 3 beverage stations. Pepsi machine, coffee and tea and various juices. Desert station at the entrance. After the horrible meal, I didn't even check it out. It's almost like the strip casinos don't want to maintain the buffets anymore. At $35 person after tax, there was much better options inside Excalibur. Save your money. Although the price is relatively low compared to other Strip large hotels (eg $32.99 for non-wkend), many of the items of value (shrimp cocktail, sushi rolls) are inedible. The positives: this place opens early (7am) and has a refill soda machine and bubbly sparking water machine. Servers are relatively friendly. Otherwise this buffet essentially tries to check the box by offering Asian, dessert, sushi, carvery, omelette, pasta but nothing stands out. I would say only the breakfast items and Carvery are OK. THE DYING BREED OF LAS VEGAS BUFFETS After Easter I was in Las Vegas for four days. During those days I stayed at two hotels - Excalibur and W Las Vegas. After checking out from W Las Vegas the last thing my friend and I did at Vegas was eat breakfast at The Buffet inside Excalibur. For his belated birthday I would pay for his meal. When I started going to Vegas regularly in 2014 there used to be a variety of buffets at The Strip. They would range from high-end to the inexpensive. After 2020 with the closures of buffets at The Strip the prices of Las Vegas buffets have increased exponentially. About three weeks before I went to Vegas another buffet at an MGM Resort - The Buffet at Luxor - was closed. Normally the price of The Buffet at Excalibur would be inexpensive, but the price (including tax) I paid the Friday after Easter was a little over $44 per person. I came that day for the start of the weekend brunch, but with that price I'm expecting my meal better than average. Unfortunately the meal was mediocre at best. I knew my breakfast was going to be pretty bad due to my first plate, which started with the scrambled eggs as they tasted dry. That's not all as the chicken fried steak was overcooked with a taste of cardboard. The only items tasty on my first plate were the bacon and sausage. Even though the remaining plates were better the first plate set a tone for the rest of my meal. For my second plate I went to the carvery station to get sausage, roast beef, and ham. The sausage had the snap. The ham was sweet and savory. The roast beef was moist but not flavorful. The third plate consisted of omelette and pastry. The omelette was tastier than the scrambled eggs from the first plate. However that first plate made be bloated because my fourth plate consisted of fruits. Usually when I'm getting full at a buffet my last plates tend to be fruits or salad. One final item I got was the pie. There's a saying "what you pay for is what you get". If I was paying between $20 and $25 this buffet would've been satisfactory. At $44 The Buffet at Excalibur is not worth the price. read more

What happened to Las Vegas Buffets? Once the staple of gluttonous pleasure in every Casino, they're now few and far between. This version at the Excalibure wasn't terrible, but it was like eating food prepared by relatives when you were a kid. Nothing stood out as being wonderful. They're only open for breakfast and lunch (I think they close at 2p) so there's no dinner option. And when I went around 10-11:30a, it was still a lot of breakfast stuff and some empty areas. The Mediterranean area was so bare it should have been Brazilian). The staff was so nice though. My waiter actually sat down for a bit and talked with me while I ate (the opposite side of the booth, not IN my side). He was pretty cool. The bartender was cool as well as I got a free drink by being an MGM Players Club member. The drink wasn't great though. I'd rather pay and have it be good than drink a free crap drink. Soft drinks are self-service which is nice as you can load up on soda pop and chocolate milk like a greedy 5-year old (oxymoron?). Definitely all-you-can-drink. They have an all you can drink alcohol option but honestly, I wasn't impressed with the cocktail selections and quality. The coffee was just OK too. For food, the thing I enjoyed the most was the nachos and the peel and eat shrimp. The Tom Yum soup was good as was the Pozole, but nothing stood out as justifying Friday's $39 charge. They have everything you want or need, but the food is so-so for the cost. Some of it's really good, but most is pretty bland and low quality. Used the MyVegas Slots app for a BOGO brunch buffet. I don't think it is worth it without the promo. They had different sections of the buffet categorized by types of cuisines. They had a fresh omelette bar on top of the typical American breakfast foods (think eggs, sausage, bacon, french toast, hashbrowns). They had a carving area, salad bar (there was smoked salmon here, and the omelette bar transitioned to a pasta one after 11am. Some other foods then changed to pizza for lunch as well. There were rolls and chinese food, and some latin america foods too. Dessert bar was disappointing. Desserts were a bit dry. But I appreciated self-serve drinks Service was great though! Price point for unlimited mimosas is actually not bad. $43.99 is cheaper than any other buffets on the strip. Not to mention this also includes self serve drinks, including coffee, soda and juices. Actually surprise with the brisket. It was soft and juicy. Same with the choices of pancakes, French toasts and build your own waffle. Their dessert selections are limited however, the bread pudding was amazing. I'd say this place is good if you feel like you want to get your buzz on for brunch. Servers are friendly and helpful too. Fair breakfast this past Wednesday morning. It's rather basic in its simplicity, not fancy, nor remotely gourmet. It's a bit pricey for what they produce. I had an omelette, freshly made at that station. It was a bit overcooked, therefore a bit dry, but you're not getting it prepared by a master chef or even a skilled cook. God bless the Hostess Sherry and server Malika for helping me today . We were in line for Buffet 30 deep only 1 cashier ', I had a medical situation I needed to exit the line and sit down . Approached the Hostess she quickly took me to get a seat and gather myself Malika our server recognized I was not all right and quickly brought me liquids to get hydrated six as water juice . Kept the liquids coming for hydration and even offered a wet wash cloth. She constantly kept eye on me . I appreciate so much when workers go above and beyond for the customer . Just like any buffet you will find something you love and something you don't but the cost of eating at fast food comes to the same price when you use. A buy one get one free or Resort Credit they give when staying at the Excalibur. Sign up for MGM rewards! The staff is amazing. Our server was on top of clearing the dishes from our table and she was very personable. Since our last visit they did change the weekend brunch now it's slightly higher but includes unlimited mimosas. Many different items to choose from. My favorite was the Smoked Brisket located at the carving station. Do yourself a favor and get the Horseradish sauce and Chipotle BBQ mix together and top your brisket. Thank me later. So delicious. First, when we arrived, I had a discount code for a "2-in-1" free buffet deal. We thought it meant both of us could eat for free. I simply asked to understand how it worked, and instead of politely explaining, she loudly and slowly said, "You don't understand? Two... in... one... you get it?" in a condescending way, as if I couldn't comprehend basic English. This was very disrespectful. Later, while eating, I stepped out to use the restroom (which is outside the buffet area). Out of courtesy, I approached the other cashier and said, "Excuse me, I'm just going to the restroom but I'll be back." She snapped at me, "You don't have to tell me. You're disturbing me, I'm busy. Just go." I was shocked by her tone and told her, "Oh, okay, I'm just letting you know , you don't have to be rude. If you're not in the mood, you can simply say okay." When I returned to my table, she was looking at me and pointing her finger at me. Her actions made me feel very uncomfortable and unwelcome. As an Asian customer, I couldn't help but wonder if this was discriminatory. Regardless of the reason, no guest should be treated this way. I do love buffets and even more so, I love breakfast! Since we wanted to purchase tickets for a show and their website says they open at 10am, went at Excalibur at 11am. Of course, tickets office opens at 1pm so we decided to find something to eat for the meantime. There was a line to get in but moved pretty quickly. The place seemed bigger on the outside. There were sections for Asian cuisine, breakfast, drinks, etc. but seemed limited once you're inside. There were a few notable dishes like the brisket, the soup, fried rice, but the rest were kinda average. Nothing that I would crave enough to go back to. When I say this is an experience, everyone should get to have I mean it you have all you can eat buffet for 35 bucks a person and then you add a $25 bucks a person for endless drink at the bar where you can get served by the Amazing Scott Who brings the charm the flavor and the possess to the bar so then you can enjoy your food you get great service. You basically get dinner in a ship even though it's not dinner time and just so you know they close at 2 PM so don't be trying to mostly in here around 130 trying to get this greatness bring your hungry ass at least one and a half hours early to get the best service and the best experience all in all would definitely do this again especially with Scott here. There's a lot of space it can be a bit noisy but all in all a chill place and Ms Diana is a great seater we loved it here read more

Generally I can always find something positive about any place I dine at, this one is going to be tough. I will say the buffet and dining areas were very clean and our server was very friendly and prompt about clearing away dirty plates. The entire buffet felt very dated and lacked variety and at best the food was lukewarm. Although they said it was a seafood buffet the seafood extended simply to a chipino and shrimp cocktail. The highlight for me was having bagels and loxs however it was missing capers and slices of tomato but a silver lining nonetheless. The food selection was very small not much a variety. Felt like a regular breakfast I would get at a Holiday Inn. The desserts looked and tasted like they were bought from Foodmaxx and they just opened the boxes and threw the desserts on the counter. read more
