Me and two girlfriends met for lunch on 2/9 at 1230. Restaurant was 1/2 full. The hostess sat us and we asked for menus. That immediately annoyed her. She disgustingly told us we should use the app. We asked if they had paper menus. She said yes but they'd prefer we use the app. We said thank you, we'd prefer the paper menus. She said ok and then said "we have a 1 1/2 hour limit on our tables so after that you will need to leave. We said of course, we understand that. The problem with this was her disgusted attitude towards us for no reason. And she didn't give tables near us the same information. Then the waiter comes over and he has an attitude. We asked a couple questions and since he didn't know the answers he was completely annoyed that he had to go get the answers. We ordered and food arrived and it was good. But no one there ever made us feel welcome. What's wrong with people in the hospitality industry? If you don't like dealing with people then maybe you are in the wrong industry. After covid my friends and I gave wait staff the benefit of the doubt and over tipped to help them out. It seems like some wait staff feel they are entitled to big tips. Had a nice dinner outside under the tent. I ordered the Barbacoa burger and it was delicious! I ate it for three days! My husband has the chicken gyros sandwich which was pretty spicy. We originally asked for a table on the upstairs deck, but since they partially enclosed the wall, it was steaming up there. No air flow. So we asked to be moved down stairs and outside, which was delightful. Nice breeze. My only disappointment was the young man host. I went to ask him a question twice and he ignored me while on the phone with what seemed like a personal call. I just interrupted him and told him the trash can in ladies room was overflowing and someone needed to empty it. Then I saw him dump some food into what should have been the trash can in the kitchen, but missed. Laughed, but didn't clean it up. It was disgusting. At least close the kitchen door so customers don't have to see it! read more

Biblical. We heard it was good, but the experience surpassed expectations. It was quite busy, but we were escorted immediately to the upper level where there was a "communal" table available. However, we noticed plenty of room at the bar and sat there instead. The barman was charming and friendly, service was impeccable. We had a great Noon Whistle scotch ale to begin the journey. There are so many interesting options on the food menu, but I am here to tell you that the SPICY NACHO burger is going to change you. Imagine seeing Jesus walk on water, only it's Jimi Hendrix, and he's playing a guitar solo that is making dolphins cry...and that's just your first bite. I always visit a place multiple times to make sure a business is consistent, and Burger Social had been consistently great. Each time we've tried an item from the menu and a special. Burgers are always cooked as asked (exception being the mac and cheese stuffed burger, because you just can't cook it rare). Recently had the Barabacoa grilled cheese. It was amazing. Ordered online last night and sent my son to pickup. He sat and waited for ever to get order. The girl rang him up and not like its a lot but never even gave him the $.44 change. We dined for my daughter's Birthday. There were 5 of us. 2 of us received our meals 10 minutes after the other 3 received their meals. Everyone ordered their burgers medium rare and they all were medium well to well done. I really thought an apology or compensation for not eating our meals together would have been appropriate. Even though our burgers were overcooked the food was delicious. It's too bad service and management is poor. Not sure I'll be back. read more

We had been spoiled by all the great burger spots in the city, and felt like this was another thing missing from our dining repertoire now living in the suburbs. But Burger Social will fill that void now. Went for lunch today, the service was great, the burgers were delicious, they had a good beer list and we also really enjoyed the deviled eggs. My daughter had the deviled eggs & I had one - touch of cilantro in them made them heavenly. She got as an entre & deviled eggs are really a dish to eat one or two & share. I ordered the shrimp burger after being assured it wouldn't be soggy or mushy - & it was crispy & perfect! It comes on a pretzel bun, which makes it even yummier. We don't get out to downtown Wheaton very often so we're not familiar with what's good.... well, our fellow Yelpers did not let us down! We were here on a weekend afternoon and it was pretty packed. They have outdoor dining on their balconies and patio area upstairs. We had a table on the front balcony, which was great for people-watching! The service was great! Everyone was friendly and attentive. And the food, that's definitely what earns the five stars. We started with the "award winning" chili. I don't know what awards its won, but it's definitely delicious! It's not overpowering, but it has some amazing flavors. For our entrees, we ordered the Pitmaster and the Korean BBQ, and both were fantastic. Both were cooked perfectly (medium rare). The BBQ sauce on the Pitmaster is a touch vinegary (think light Carolina BBQ style) and very good. The onion ring on the Pitmaster was delicious and will likely require us to order onion rings on our next trip. The Asian slaw and siracha aioli on the Korean BBQ gave it awesome flavor; although I did have to scrape some off the jalapenos, as there was a generous helping of peppers. And finally the fries were great and the perfect compliment to a great burger. We will definitely be back, as this was one of the better burgers in the area! read more
