Recently came here for lunch for the first time. Wonderful atmosphere, friendly staff and great service! So many things on the menu I had a hard time deciding and will definitely be back to try other dishes. Had the shredded beef grilled cheese on sourdough and it was absolutely to die for! My only flaw to this lunch was the onion rings- they are absolutely stunning which is why I could not pass them up. As beautiful as they were they were not very flavorful. Had lunch yesterday with a business associate. This was our first time. We both started with the house chili since it was freezing out and the server recommended it. Spot on awesome. Moved on to the burgers. I had the house burger with bacon, shrooms and cheddar. Cooked perfectly and more than I could even think of eating. Really great. They have an insane number of rare bourbons on their beverage menu including stuff I've only had in my dreams. Service was great. The restaurant itself is really cool. I've had a lot of burgers, let me tell ya. You hear everyone say like "oh Portillos is the best" or "DUDE IN N OUT" and swear by it. I've heard people rave about Five Guys. I don't know though, every burger I've had was just another good burger, and people's favorites were where they were from. But man, I came here, and the burger was phenomenal. It blew me away. I hosted a fund raising event at The Burger Social, in the upstairs location, we had the inside portion of the restaurant and bar reserved. There was about 25 adults and 10 teenagers/kids. The atmosphere/environment was excellent, the staff could not have been nicer, and the food was top notch. All orders came out fresh and hot, my favorite is the social burger, no cheese, medium rare, the spices/rub in the red meat really pop with flavour. Love this place, Mike the general manager is a great person, likes to help out local businesses and families when given the opportunity. I highly reccommend to see Mike at The Burger Social if you're a party of two or two-hundred. We had a blast and will be coming back very soon. read more

My co-worker who lives in Wheaton told us about this place and so glad we gave it a try! We went there on Sunday around 4pm for my son's birthday. Plenty of seats, friendly server (Cara), really pretty décor, sort of industrial very cool space. TV's are everywhere so great for watching sports. I had the salmon salad with grilled pears, nuts, shaved parmesan and other goodness, I LOVED IT. The boys had the social with onion strings and side of fries and the social with the works with side of truffle fries. They didn't have apple orchard though so I hope they bring that in as it goes well with burgers. Really disappointed in our experience tonight. We were seated shortly after 4:00 and ordered a drink and told our server we were going to have a drink before ordering food. He came back around for our second drink and we said we were going to look at the menu to order. He came back a few minutes later and we put an order in. At no point did he say "your time is almost up on your table" and when he brought our food, also brought a to go box and the check and said "the hour and a half limit on the table is up. You'll have to take your food to go and take care of the check". We were stunned. It would have been nice to know the clock was running when we ordered. We paid for a second round we didn't get to finish and food we didn't get to eat. Unbelievable and hope they change this practice or they probably won't stay in business. Burger Social is a welcome addition to downtown Wheaton. We have been there a handful of times - on a date night, with a group of friends, and with the kids - and each time felt comfortable. Service is good and the food has always been a hit. The "call-ahead-but-no-reservations" policy works; we have rarely waited more than 30 minutes even on weekends, and the wait makes a good excuse to go upstairs to the bar for a hipster cocktail until they are ready for you. Vegetarians (or at least not-meat-a-tarians): don't let the name fool you. There are a bunch of good options here: I've had both an excellent smoked salmon flatbread thingee and an equally good black bean burger. read more

Great burgers! All the food on the menu is great. I would highly recommend their fried pickles as well as their cauliflower tots. I'm not a big fan of veggies but those were good!! Went for our first outdoor dinner of the season. Let me start with the fact the service was excellent. I started with a blackberry cocktail. Delicious and not overly sweet. We ordered the cauliflower tots which were cooked nicely but was missing a final sprinkle of salt. The three sauces were nice, although a bit sparse. Ordered a local draft beer to enjoy with my upcoming mushroom & blue burger with a side salad. My beer was warm and I had to put ice in it. Not so great. Burger and salad came. Salad was delicious with a little feta and a flavorful light dressing. Burger was a hot mess and difficult to eat. I should have asked for the red wine reduction in the side and dip my burger in it. The sauce made my onion straws and bun dissolve before it hit my table. Even with the blue cheese my burger was missing salt. There was no salt on the table, leading one to believe this was a place not afraid of seasoning but this was not to be true. read more

After a handful of visits here, I am pretty convinced that you can't go wrong choosing from their extensive food and drink menu. From local craft beers and fresh cocktails to unique appetizers and one of the highest quality burger lists I have seen in this day and age, there is enough here to keep you coming back many a time. The Korean BBQ Burger & the Spicy Nacho Burger are simply unreal. Cozy up at the bar on either floor or enjoy the lovely outdoor seating. I'll start out with the positive. Nice ambiance and pleasant service. The menu sounds good. Truffle fries are solid. I came with a small group after work, we got seats at the bar. So far, so good. Asked for the drink menu, except for a "cocktails $10" on the front there are no prices on the drink menu. Seemed a little odd, but I ordered an Allagash White. It's a pretty middle of the road beer, not too crafty and most places in Wheaton will get you one for $4-5. So I was pretty surprised when I found out it cost $7.50 on my tab. Could I have asked the bartender the price beforehand? Sure, but I'm not going to waste her time asking for the price of every drink on the menu. So strike one. Next up, food. Maybe getting a Hawaiian burger isn't the best choice at any burger restaurant. But I had been talking about Hawaii, so it was stuck in my head. $13 is reasonable in Chicago for a decent burger and fries. I asked for a medium burger, it was just under well done. The teriyaki sauce was tasteless. The grilled pineapple on the burger had no sweetness. It just overall was not a good burger. Part of that is on me for ordering a Hawaiian burger, but still... Strike Two. Normally I'd give a place like this 3 stars, but not having prices on their drink menu and then (surprise..not really) finding it overpriced is a big turn off to me. read more

Decor is modern and the space is deceptively large. Came in on an early Tuesday evening. Ordered the brisket chili, the beerworks burger, and the truffle parm fries. The chili was great with many chunks of very tender beef and the occasional bean rather than the typical mostly filler beans with the occasional chunk of meat. The fries were really good, and the burger was fine. It lacked a great sear typical of a great burger and was frankly too big to fit your mouth. Flavors were still good and it was not small by any means. Overall very enjoyable experience. One more small complaint, it suffers from the trend of modern restaurants being ridiculously dark inside. read more

I made reservations for our party (5+) a couple of weeks in advance and even called when our party size had reduced and asked if they could accommodate an earlier seating time. Everything was great as far as the reservation was concerned, no issues with that. However, I hope as a dining establishment you take this feedback in a constructive way regarding how you seat patrons overall. While I was waiting for the rest of my party, two other groups of patrons had arrived and both brought upstairs. It was perhaps only a couple of minutes and each group separately returned to the lower level and asked to be seated elsewhere. One couple in particular said, "No, that space and table is way too loud." At the time I didn't think much of it until we were being seated ourselves. I had noticed several tables were being wiped down toward the front of the second floor and assumed we were going to be seated there. However our host walked us toward the back to the covered balcony/patio. At first it seemed like a perfectly fine space, however the noise and commotion in that space was so loud you were almost yelling to just speak. Then, we saw the commotion coming from two large groups with several fussy children and one toddler having a full on meltdown. Before we even made it to our table, we saw one of the parents immediately bring him outside to the staircase to get him out of the dining space to calm him down and for that, I give his Dad serious credit trying to not escalate the noise further. However, this honestly would have been a great opportunity for our host/seater to ask if we were okay with the seating. Therefore, when she didn't I was preparing to request a table change, but before I even had a chance she immediately reminded us of our 1.5 time limit and promptly walked away leaving us to wait for our server to ask this as well. Our server was gracious and said she would check, but returned a couple of minutes later telling us that we couldn't be moved because groups were being seated 10 mins apart. Not sure we really understood that as there were no other patrons waiting to be seated downstairs when we were walked up, and there were a few tables being cleared that would have accommodated our group. But we ended up just taking the table anyway. I want to be clear, my issue isn't with the families or the kids losing their minds. Everyone in our group has children, we get it. Kids get crazy and as parents you scramble to not embarrass yourself and make it through your dinner. And, as a parent if we had a group that caused that much commotion, I wouldn't expect other patrons to want to dine near us as they want and rightly should enjoy a peaceful meal. However, I would expect your host/seater to "read the situation" a bit better and accommodate accordingly. You are seating guests that have no younger patrons with them. You've already had two groups ask to be seated elsewhere AND you don't ask if the seating is acceptable when there is clearly room to accommodate a table change. This was the only table open in the covered balcony, but there were three other tables open toward the front of the second floor and seating available on the lower level prior to us walking up. Not asking for anyone to reach out and lesson learned for me to not accept a table if it doesn't work for our group. read more

Order pretzel bites!!! I ordered the classic diner stack burger on a brioche bun with 2 patties. The taste was pretty good but the burger was very messy. To be honest, the best tasting part of the meal was the fries. The atmosphere was fun, living up to its name. I will definitely return again since it's conveniently located in DT Wheaton. I've tried this place twice, now. The burgers are fine, but everything else annoys me. Number one, it's loud; often too loud to have a conversation. Love this place! But be prepared to spend a minimum of $50 bucks for 2 people. I think it is worth it, but just wanting to make sure your eyes don't bug out when you see the bill. But tonight, (thankfully, our server informed me) we learned the fries are now coated in flour. Awesome new place! You walk in and it's beautifully decorated and the atmosphere is great. It's a bit dark but it sets the mood for a fun night out. There's an upstairs too and they are adding a patio this summer! I ordered the burger with Italian beef on top and my friend ordered a burger with chorizo and cheetoe puff dust and tortilla strips. My husband and 2 of his buddies has reservations on 2/26 at 6:30. Upon arriving at 6:25 they did not get seated until 7:15. Every who walked in the door after them got seated right away without a reservation. Why make a reservation if they do not abide by it? Therefore due to this issue none of them will make a return visit there and we have been supporting this establishment since opening. read more

One of our best dining experiences in the past year. The "Under the Mistletoe Mule" is PHENOMENAL. My husband tried the Weller bourbon and loved it.
