My GF and I had a wonderful Valentine's dinner at the Butcher's Table. Upon entering you can see the lounge area which is for casual occasions. Fortunately I booked a reservation about a week in advance and we were seated immediately downstairs in the main dining room which I like since it is more intimate. We were welcomed by Min who did a fantastic job of explaining the menu. Full of excitement and hunger we proceeded to order the Tomahawk Steak, a side of the 5-Star Cap of Ribeye, and some Beef Fat Fries and broccoli to share. Although they ran out of the Ultra, Min still prefers the 5-Star because the Ultra is overwhelmingly rich. The Tomahawk steak comes in 3 sizes (2lbs 9 oz, 2lb 13 oz, or 2lbs 16oz) which is intended to share. But if you know me and Lena, you know that WE DON'T MESS AROUND! The Tomahawk steak was literally the LARGEST I HAD EVER SEEN. It was carved beautifully and cooked to perfection! Every bite was so juicy and full of flavor. It all tasted so delicious and went perfectly with the BT steak sauce & chimichurri. The 5-Star Cap of Ribeye was PHENOMENAL! It's literally like meat butter that is so soft and tender that it just melts away in your mouth. When Min came back to check up on us he was surprised/impressed that all of it was gone. It's not every day where a cow gets slaughtered and 2 guests completely murder the meal haha! I'm so glad that we got to spend this special day here with an outstanding staff and delicious food from Mishima Reserve. I stopped into Butcher's Table tonight with the intention of having dinner. It's a few minutes walk from our place, and I enjoy dining at a steakhouse. However, the space, the ambiance, and the vibe at The Butcher's Table were so generic and disingenuous, we were turned off immediately. The greeting and smiles by the two bartenders were automated and fake. I asked for a local vodka in my martini, and all they had were national brands. Requesting my martini to be shaken, I also asked for it to be without vermouth but with ice crystals. Nodding with affirmation, as if she knew perfectly, the bartender proceeded to hand me a martini that was basically vodka poured into a glass with an olive. As we sat at the underwhelming bar in an unremarkable space, I listened and heard the same hello given to every customer. It was a scripted line. Are you kidding me? Prices rival the most expensive steakhouses in New York City. We will not be returning to the Butcher's Table. read more

Disappointing for the cost. We had four meals, spent about $1200. All of the steaks were below par. We ordered the highest grade "Ultra" was told to order medium rare plus, we are normally order medium rare. The steaks ended up over cooked and definitely not juicy. Everybody shared bites of their steaks, nobody's steak were great. My tenderloin was average, I asked mine to be cooked, medium rare. Mac and cheese was great and the Beechers cheese ice cream was too. My coffee with the dessert was awful. read more

Very creative raw seafood appetizers, impressive dessert list. Great selection of wines and drinks. It is a nice place for family celebrations, dates, business meals. I've eaten at Butcher's table for dinner twice. First time we got the tasting flight and today I stopped in for a solo dinner and tried the burger. Both times the food and service were great. First time we had a bottle of wine. Second time I had cocktails. Food and drinks on both visits were solid. The only mildly off putting thing on my second visit was that I was told the burger was an "off menu" item. I didn't see it on the menu I was given once seated despite seeing it on the posted menu. The deciding factor for me today between going to Butchers Table instead of Shake Shack next door, was the menu posted in the window including a burger. The menu posted shows a burger and does not mention lunch only or any other disclaimers that I could see(see photo attached). It was a tad awkward for my server to tell me the burger was an "off menu" item. That being said, the burger was fantastic. To spare your guests some slight awkwardness, I recommend ensuring the menu in the window is accurate. It was slightly uncomfortable ordering the burger and I noticed another bar patron being told the same. I tried to politely share feedback with the host that the menu in the window showed a burger but the menu I was given didn't. The host, however, responded " that might be the lunch menu you were seeing", seeming to dismiss the feedback I was attempting to give. This experience doesn't negatively impact my overall opinion of Butcher's table, however, I hope someone reads this and will take the feedback. Extremely over-hyped. Went here for dinner with a few colleagues. The wait staff was extremely kind and attentive and did an absolutely phenomenal job. But then, the food happened. They started the table off with some beef-fat brioche which was honestly just pretty good warm brioche. The problem was that a couple of folks at the table were vegetarian and when we asked if they could maybe has something so that they don't sit awkwardly staring at the rest, it turns out there was no option (which is quite surprising given the kind of restaurant this is). I got the eye of rib as did a colleague and folks got some other steaks and fish dishes too. We asked for the steaks mid-rare but both the ribeyes came out rare. You'd expect a steakhouse to nail the most popular temperature on the most simple cut. Also, the steak is literally served as just that. A single piece of meat on a white plate; nothing else with it. It's just kind of sad. The steak itself just tasted blah and there was nothing exciting on the palate from the meat or the seasoning; plain-jane and boring. The beef fat fries where probably the best thing I had that evening. They are large massive breaded potato sticks fried in beef fat and served with slightly spicy sauce that really compliments them and cuts through the richness. I heard from others at the table that their drinks were pretty good but the food was kind of okay, not great. Overall the place is a no-go for me. When you charge top dollar and have such outstanding staff providing top notch service, it's a little disappointing when the star of the show, the food, disappoints. I have had this restaurant on my bucket list for years when I was living in Canada because of their famous steak flight! I finally moved down to Seattle recently and this was a no brainer for the perfect Valentine's Day spot for my partner and I. Tony and his team treated us so well, and everything from the service, atmosphere and food including the amazing cocktails were second to none! We had it the five star steak flight, which they so graciously split for us to make it easier to try. We started with the yellowtail and paired this with the bone marrow and mac & cheese dishes- which were so decadent! We also had a few little loaves of the beef fat brioche which was a perfect complement to everything on our table as well as the hen of the woods mushrooms which I personally enjoyed very much. MY FAVOURITE THING aside from the flight were the beef fat fries! I also had (not pictured) the wolf of oaxaca cocktail which paired so perfectly with just everything. I'll start with the most important aspect when eating... I got the ribeye. Holy crap. I regretfully don't remember her name, but the chef that cooked it absolutely crushed it. One of the best steaks I've ever had. I've been blessed to do a decent amount of traveling, and I try to go to a great steakhouse wherever I go. This place makes me want to make a return trip to Seattle. The brioche bread was also fantastic, as was the beef fries or whatever the heck that was. Honestly, unbelievable. The service was incredible. Period. Our server was named Adam. He was attentive, knowledgeable about the menu, and just incredibly friendly. They also were completely on top of making sure our water glasses were full. It's a small thing for me that always something that resonates when I think back on the service. All in all, the staff was incredibly friendly and courteous. As for ambiance, it wasn't stuffed to maximize tables. The environment was comfortable, and the vibe was very chill, which I appreciated. We started off with a Smoked Salmon Chip & Dip, Hen of the Woods and Beef Fat Fries. The Hen of the Woods was my favorite from the app/sides that we ordered. For some reason I thought the Beef Fat Fries were french fries but of course they're exactly as it sounds. I thought they were going to be heavy, but they weren't at all. With all cuts being Mishima Reserve American Beef Wagyu, we were almost left undecided on which cut to get, but knew any were going to be great. We split on a 5 star Eye of Rib and our server, Kelly, suggested we smother the side of bone marrow like butter. It's been a long while since I had a good piece of steak and everything was so good! We almost left without dessert until suggestions were made to get their Pasilla Pepper Donuts with a side of dulce de leche to dip! This was like a beignet, donut and churro all in one. It was the perfect occasion for our friend's wedding anniversary. Atmosphere: We made reservations for 7, and were promptly seated. There were plenty of available seats. There was live music playing, so we ate eat our meats in heavenly bliss hearing this man croon away. Food: each bite was punctuated with Ooh's and Aah's and eye rolling. Oh my god, the meats. What amazing smells! We had the perfect view of watching the chefs, dice away and prepare the meats. We ordered the tomahawk, med rare. I can not describe how juicy and buttery every bite was. Came here for my anniversary and everything was on point from the ambiance to the service to the food. Could not ask for a better experience (though it was definitely pricey!). We came on a Thursday and made reservation for downstairs, which is dark and moody vibes. We sat at a corner booth looking out across all the tables, and there were probably 4-5 other tables on a Thursday. Ryan was really helpful since it was our first time in! Service was attentive and friendly! I got the Friday Holly cocktail and it came in a martini glass and tasted like lemonade--not boozy at all! We also got Pinot Noir by the glass, which we liked enough to buy a bottle to take home. For food, we thoroughly enjoyed the beef fat fries with their house-made sriracha. They are like a giant hash brown stick with lots of flavor! I'd come back just to have these again. We also got the mushrooms and had them come out as appetizer as well. These were super flavorful and sat on a bed of the sriracha and flagship cheese sauce. The mushrooms were fried slightly in beef fat to give it just a hint of crunch! For main entree, I got the Zanuton ($50), which was the most worth it steak! It's got an incredibly flavorful exterior with pepper and a bit of char. Cooked perfectly! I paired it with the smoked bone marrow, was was fatty/oily, but the pickled onion cut right through it in the best way. Plus, the in-house English Muffins that came with the marrow was amazing (like high end version of Red Lobster garlicky biscuits lol)! My husband got the more expensive 12 oz flight, with increasingly marbled cuts of beef, leading up to the Japanese A5 Wagyu steak. His first steak was slightly overdone, but the other two were cooked to perfection and melted in the mouth. For $190, can't help but feel I got the better deal with the super tender/flavorful zabuton, but really cool experience to try the flight at least once! Came back here a year later and I still am just as impressed with it as the first time. I came with my family and we ordered the tomahawk and scallops to share with variety of sides. Our server kindly gave us a free appetizer since our meal would take a while to cook. It was a fried oyster topped with beef carparcio. My younger siblings don't really eat raw foods, but they enjoyed this very much, so thank you to our server for that! We ordered the brocollini, crimini mushrooms, and beef fat fries for sides. The steak came out perfectly cooked and seasoned. It was delicious, the best I've had in a while. The brocollini was perfect to cut the fattiness in our meal. It was light and refreshing. My friend and I had the peas and carrots appetizer, the New York steak flight, the beef fat brioche bread, and the pepper donuts. My favorite thing was the brioche rolls. They are served warm in a tiny pan with salted butter. I still dream about those warm squishy rolls. And the donuts! They are made with pasilla pepper seasoning, sugar, and cinnamon and come with dulce de leche dipping sauce. The flavor profile of those donuts is amazing. You really need to try them. The restaurant itself is quite large and has two levels. The top level is a more casual environment and was pretty busy during early dining hours. The bottom level is dimly lit and the decor is elegant. The atmosphere is perfect for a romantic dinner or an upscale business event. The staff are all friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. Before Covid this was my favorite "steak dinner" restaurant in the city. The service is on point and the atmosphere has a moody, low-lit, noir, modern vibe. The pictures attached to this review are from a previous visit pre-covid - I think it's important to see these. So I ordered takeaway dinner for my husband's birthday. It was upwards of $300 for two. For that cost I imagined a pretty fancy meal. For example Ascend in Bellevue created an impressive presentation for their Fathers Day dinner and similarly priced. I ordered a couple cocktails, the pear salad (delicious), the 16 ounces of 5-star, Hen of the Woods, and a 5 star eye of rib. The cocktails were beautiful and delicious. But the packaging for the food was disappointing. It looked sloppily tossed into takeaway containers. It didn't look like $300+ meal. The portion of the salad seemed small, but when I arranged it on a plate it looked better. The salad was delicate and surprisingly delicious. The 16 ounce sample of steaks plate were not cooked to the rare level I requested. I was disappointed about that because the steaks were supposed to be the highlight of the meal. Still, my husband enjoyed each of the 4 ounce steaks. The restaurant was nice enough to add some sweet beignets and a little candle. It was a nice touch, but they didn't taste very good. I think they are supposed to be warmer than I served them. You know, it wasn't as good as I remember it being. The cook and presentation leaves something to be desired. Since Covid-19 they have changed their menu as well as their dining terms. For starters, you have to make a reservation before coming here to eat. Also, the hostess takes your temperature to prevent any customer with underlying symptoms from entering. After taking your temperatures, they then show you to your table. Before the pandemic, the Butcher's Table had other additional seating options on the bottom floor level. However, due to county restrictions, they have limited seating to the "up-stairs" area and have ensured proper separation for social distancing. I came with my friends and we were able to sit in the bar area. They gave us our menus, which was a refined and simplified menu, reduced for their COVID operations. Since I had gone here many times before, we made sure to order their signature bone marrow and tomahawk 45oz steak. The waiting time for our meal took a while longer since we had to special order the larger steak, however, we ordered several appetizers in the meantime. The staff is friendly and they're the type of place to make sure that your water glass is always full. I remember being impressed by the waiter's promptness in refilling my water glass after I had taken a mere sip out of it. My friends ordered their alcoholic beverages and informed me that they were delicious. When the main course finally arrived, it was plated beautifully on a wooden cutting board. Being a larger cut of beef, the steak was pre-sliced paired with a small pile of sea salt on the side. As self-proclaimed steak connoisseurs, we ordered our steak medium rare and we were impressed as it was cooked to perfection. The seasoning was delicious and we devoured the steak. The Butcher's Table is a must-have for a mouth watering steak dinner in Seattle. -- Food -- Butcher is in the name - steak is their specialty, and these steaks will "wow" you. Though the restaurant does have a variety of other options, including vegetarian, gluten free, and non-beef meals. I ordered the pear salad to start and I was shocked to enjoy a salad so much. This wasn't your run-of-the-mill salad -- they've put a lot of thought in to balancing the pears, house-made cheese (the owner also owns Beecher's Cheese), and herbs. Our waiter informed us that they change it up depending on what's fresh and in season, so you'll always have the best ingredients. For a main course, I ordered the 5-Star Filet Mignon and WOW -- I'd give it another star if they'd let me. This tender, flavorful cut was perfectly cooked, with a crispy grilled char on the outside. I highly recommend Butcher's Table for a great steak. Their sides are served family style (one could serve 2-3 people easily). I ordered the mac and cheese and it was amazing. They use more of their house-made cheeses to make a perfectly creamy and savory dish. It's like a richer version of the Beecher's Flagship Mac & Cheese from the Public Market. -- Drinks -- The butcher's table has a full bar and a small selection of cocktails on their menu. They could definitely improve their cocktail selection, but what they do offer is great. There is also a large, curated wine selection from their cellar. I tried the Sazerac and it was one of the best I've had in a long time. So smooth it's dangerous! -- Service -- Flawless. Their service is flawless at every point. The host was very welcoming and guided us through the new Covid procedures. He even remembered me from calling to make a reservation a few days prior. There was no wait with a reservation, and you should make a reservation if you plan to dine in for dinner. I've worked in food service in the past and our waiter blew me away. From helping us make food and drink selections, to telling us about the ingredients, and keeping every course timed perfectly, I couldn't have asked for better service. Not to mention he was running the entire downstairs dining room and bar by himself, WOW! -- Atmosphere -- There are two distinctly different dining venues at the Butcher's Table, and you can reserve space at them individually. Both are beautiful and warm. Lounge (Upper/Entrance Level) The Lounge has a more casual atmosphere, similar to a normal restaurant. There are a few dozen tables with windows to the street and a full bar. It's full of bright, warm lighting and can be louder than the lower level. Dining Room (Lower Level) The lower level is much more of an intimate (date-oriented) and private space. There are fewer patrons here, it's dimly lit, and centered around a beautiful marble fire place. This space has its own bar and access to the cellar. Amazing experience. They serve Wagyu steak and I had the filet mignon with a glass (or two) of Moscato. It is such a relaxing atmosphere and the service is just right - not too pushy, and not too absent. The lights are dimmed just right with comfortable seating, and it was a great dinner with great company! read more

Zabuton (steak): my FAV steak we had. It was so buttery, tender, and full of flavor. It was truly magical. MUST order! Filet mignon: tender with a perfect char on the outside. Steak tartare: light and zesty with good portions. Smoked bone marrow: omg this was SO good. It's rich, buttery, and just melts in your mouth. Oysters: fresh, plump, and didn't taste briny to me. It has that moody, dark aesthetic and it's kind of hard to see your food haha but it had a relaxing vibe. Our server was sooo nice! EVERYTHING HERE WAS PERFECT! The restaurant was beautiful. The food was AMAZING. Our server was so knowledgeable about meats and explained everything so thoroughly and helped us order. I would come back here a million times every time I visit Seattle. This was the highlight of our trip. There was also a singer that was UNBELIEVABLY talented. I will attach pictures. read more

Disappointed in upon making reservations and entering mentioned we were celebrating an important event. The restaurant made no recognition. Disappointed. My son picked this restaurant for a celebration and we were all disappointed. No bread, weak menu for appetizers, the Caesar salad was jacked up by some crazy idea. The steaks in the showcase looked amazing, but they ruined the meat while cooking. Service was okay. I will never go to this place again. I could have cooked better steaks on my Weber at 1/4 of the price and they would have been 5x better tasting. We eat at the best restaurants 2-4x each year and this was the worst tasting food we have ever experienced. read more

Only missing a star because takeout took FOREVER and we had to grill the burgers ourselves once the food arrived! The food from here was INCREDIBLE. Definitely worth the wait and every bite was sumptuous. Our friends had been raving about the food from here for months and we finally had a chance to experience the excitement that comes with food from the Butcher's Table! I was bummed they were out of the seafood tostadas when we ordered but I will definitely be back! This place sounds like a restaurant that only serves carnivore heavy dishes but I was pleasantly surprised by all of the options I had to choose from as a pescatarian!
