My 8-year-old and I came here for lunch after a morning of sledding. They have an excellent all-you-can-eat lunch deal for adults at $20, and kiddos are always $12. We indulged on mussels, clams, octopus, calamari, ramen, enoki mushrooms, brisket, and pork belly. Plenty filling, and our waitress was not only nice enough to give us a $10 gift card for next time, she also reminded us to grab an ice cream out of the freezer before we left. Always down to try a new hot pot place! I saw a video on TikTok and it really inspired me to check it out. They do have a parking lot but it fills up quickly so make sure you go early or a little late and there should be a spot. You do have to wait to be seated, but it was relatively quick. You order the meat with your waiter, and then you go up to the sauce bar and make your own sauce. They also have a fried station where they served a couple of other options. Then up against the wall is where your veggies and noodles will be. I like this because then I can choose how much I want. I chose a traditional pork broth, and it was already brothy if that makes sense so the broth on its own was really good and then when I added my sauces, meat, veggies, and noodles, it all came together nicely. They do have a little freezer of single served ice creams and so I got a vanilla. Overall, for the price that you pay an the options that are included, I think it was a pretty good deal. I've visited Orion twice now, and it's become my go-to hot pot place in Colorado! It's reasonably priced for AYCE, they have a sizable parking lot, and the wait staff is nice - among the many things I enjoy. Their biggest table can seat 6 people, but 4 people is optimal. I haven't had trouble walking in, especially on weekdays. They don't seem to take reservations anyways. The food is so fresh and high quality. Plenty of beverage options. I usually get the spicy broth, and you can order 2 meats per person at a time, like brisket and tripe. Many other seafoods, vegetables, and noodles to add to your tray. My favorites are fish balls and tofu cubes. Can't wait to come back, especially on chilly days. Oh, and don't forget the individual ice creams for dessert! read more

Solid hot pot spot with a few drawbacks. Hot pot is one of my all-time favorite meals, I probably eat it weekly so I'm always on the lookout for new places to try. A couple of friends and I visited this restaurant on a Friday evening which wasn't too packed. When we first walked in, we were hit by a pretty unpleasant smell something like old cheese or old rag water. It was strong enough that we considered leaving, but we decided to stay and give the food a shot. They have a DIY sauce station, which I always appreciate, but unlike other hot pot places I've been to, they don't offer a self-serve veggie or side wall. That was a bit disappointing, especially when our crab stick order came with only three pieces. I personally prefer being able to choose as much as I want for items like that. I ordered the pig bone broth, and unfortunately, it was underwhelming and pretty bland. That said, the meats we chose (brisket, pork belly, and fatty beef) were all pretty good. The service was okay overall; our server was friendly and generally attentive, though they did forget to bring out a few items we ordered. Overall, this place is good and pretty average. My main issues were the strange odor in the restaurant and the lack of a self-serve selection for veggies and other items. read more

I really wanted to like this new hot pot restaurant because it looks great and it's always awesome to see new Asian local businesses open up shop, but everything from quality of broth to how they served the veggies/meat and service was disappointing. The only reason the rating is a 3 and not a 2 is because the ambiance was fun, veggies were fresh, veggies were stocked most of the time, and they offered sides like (cooked) dumplings and ice cream for dessert. Setup of how to order: All veggies, noodles, and most seafood are self serve. Great in theory - you don't have to wait on your server and you can grab exactly how much you want. These veggie/noodle shelves are completely open though, so we saw multiple people cough (accidentally, but still) towards the food. You order the meat from the server and they bring that out to you. I got the beef brisket for 2 rounds and each time the beef was sliced so thin, after cooking, all the beef could fit on my 1 spoon. Broth: The spicy broth just tasted like spicy water. It was missing some serious depth. Service: The service was inattentive most of the time. Only towards the end when we were almost done, did we get regular visits from our server. The worst part was that they charged our card for someone else's dinner (on top of our actual dinner). It wouldn't have been caught if I hadn't gone through our credit card statement. They, of course, reversed the additional transaction (after a good amount of back and forth), but then didn't proactively offer any reconciliations. After I asked if there was anything they could do for the inconvenience, they offered 20% off our next visit. Unfortunately with everything else stacking up, we won't be returning. Finally made it here to try out this place today. There was 6 of us and we arrived about 11:30ish. We were the second ones there. The place is very nice, modern and clean. We were greeted by a hostess and taken to a table. Our waiter was friendly and provided good service. From the menu we had to pick our broth, meats, and beverages. There was 3 of us who had the beef bone broth, 2 had the chicken broth, and 1 had the spicy broth. Everyone said that their broth was good. For meats, we ordered lamb, fatty beef, beef eye round, beef brisket, pork belly, and beef tripe to share. Vegetable, noodles, and sauce condiments are set up in a separate area. We took my dad for his 79th birthday and we're excited to try this new place on a cold winter night. Parking was very easy in front and it was easy to find. We came in early at 5pm and were seated immediately. My niece and nephew have food allergies so they didn't have any options for food outside of the AYCE hot pot options so they left and came back to join us later. I really liked that we all got individual hot pots and could choose our own broths. I went for the pork broth but I was a little mild for me. I wish I had gone for the spicy soup instead. The server took our meat order and told us we could only order 2 meats per person and would get charged for leftover food. We were a little concerned we wouldn't be able to finish with such a stern warning. Once the meats came, we noticed some were more fatty so we hoped we weren't going to be charged for not eating those pieces which we weren't! The broth heated up quickly. We liked the cleanliness and the staff seemed very attentive to making sure dropped items were promptly cleaned up and areas wiped down. The fried dumplings were good. Fried egg rolls were just okay. I liked all of the sauce options. I wish there were a signature dipping sauce like a sukiyaki dipping sauce that we've salivated over at MK Suki. I made my own concoction with cilantro, ponzu, soy sauce, lemon, sugar and hot peppers. I loved all of the veggie options. They looked so fresh and I applaud all of the work to clean and cut them up! Flavors were fantastic! Would have liked if they asked more frequently to order additional protein. When checking out, I initially used my Venmo card. After charging the wrong amount, she "voided/refunded it." Said it should automatically go back on the card (which I didn't expect, knowing it takes awhile). So glad more and more asian options are moving more north and west!! As a certified hot pot lover, I will say I was disappointed in their broth. In comparison to other hot pot restaurants, I didn't find their broth to be up to par with the others. However, I am a big big fan of their self serve veggie/seafood! I find that it is so much more convenient than having to order from the kitchen. They also had self serve ice cream cups for dessert, also very convenient! The space is big and I like their vibe! Our server was very helpful and attentive and always checked in on us. I think we did run into a hiccup where she likely went om her lunch break right when we were ready to close out, so that was a little bit of a wait for the bill and I wonder if they could have had someone cover her break while she was out. Is "good enough to no longer justify the commute south/north" a good description? I think there are definitely other options further away that were worth the drive before Orion opened, but not anymore! Every time we go, we're greeted with excellent staff who are very attentive to our needs. The restaurant is a tad cramped, especially by the self-serve bar, but that's but a small nitpick. There's a variety of options to choose at the self serve bar, from assorted vegetables to shellfish. I personally enjoy their spicy broth and beef bone broths, and I load up on as much meat as I'm allowed. Food quality has never been an issue for us. Definitely give Orion a try if you're in the area, or even if it's closer to you than the other hot pot places Denver has to offer. It may surprise you enough to be your new go-to hot pot. read more

So happy to see more hotpot restaurants in the area so that people living in the Northwest don't have to drive so far to get their hotpot fix! If you are looking for quality, or you're a hotpot connoisseur, this is not your place. But if you live in the area and you're craving hotpot, it will do. Inside is way bigger than it seems, lots of tables available and there's a free parking lot. BROTH - good selection of broths to choose from - total of 7! Only thing is that they don't have Tom Yum, which is my favorite. Not a big deal. I went with the Herbal Broth which yummy. Had chinese herbs and dried fish. MEAT - they have different meats you can order with the server. You can only order 2 meat plates at a time per person which is probably their way of preventing waste. Really small amounts of meat per plate. They have seafood options you can order as well such as oysters and blue crab. The oysters didn't seem fresh enough to eat raw so I'd be a bit wary. Blue crab was probably previously frozen so it's just okay. SELF SERVE FOOD - for the rest of the food like noodles, mushrooms and veggies, seafood, you can go up to grab to the fridge to grab as much as you want. Good selection. I was sad to see some mold in the mushrooms, so just double check quality before grabbing. The self serve seafood were probably all previously frozen as well so the quality isn't good. Like the shrimp was kinda mushy... but can't really expect much from an AYCE place. SAUCE - there's a pretty expansive self serve sauce station. Lots of different sauces and toppings to choose from for your sauce My suggestion is that because this restaurant is in a primarily white neighborhood, they should provide instructions for people who are not familiar with how to enjoy hotpot. Really great new Hot Pot! Went around 5:30 on a Saturday and there wasn't a line. As we left after 7 there looked to be a long wait so I think we timed it really well. Buffet style to get veggies and seafood options. You order your meat with a server and can only get two servings per person at a time. I will say our server did a good job of coming by to check and see if we needed more meat, though each time we ordered the same thing the meat looked different so we weren't quite sure we were getting what we ordered. It was all good whatever we got though! One thing we were a little bummed about was that you can't mix broths. My husband and friend enjoyed the spicy. The food was all fresh, in fact mostly a little frozen in the serve yourself seafood and veggie area. There were several spices/sauces to choose from to create your own broth. There was an ice cream cooler with individual servings or popsicles; or sesame balls for dessert. The food was basically okay, if not too many items outside the box, but not the fun lively atmosphere I'd experienced at another place.
