I knoticed there is two car outlets listed Dartford and Bradford so just to be sure this review is for the owners of the DARTFORD CAR OUTLET the car was purchased 7 days ago I was met by dean who was smoking a vape most of the time he was serving me with the details of the car He did allow me to take the car on a test drive after inspection of it I took a diagnostic scanner with me that showed fault code U2FFF 00 Normally this code would appear with a more specific code so there is a issue on the adblue / dpf which needs to be investigated the worst thing I did was take it home The next day I took it to our workshop upon inspection I found the internal panels between the sliding electric door and front passenger door was loose with broken panels The heating is poor and has a build up of pressure on the coolant system Engine noise from the vacuum pump and turbo making a waa waa noise at 1700 rpms Vibration probably from the engine or gearbox mount Sticky and noisy electric sliding door Motor They said the car was serviced and MOT had been done but it was not MOT'd by the car outlet and the service was just a oil change also not done by the car outlet in Dartford The car should of been sold with 2 keys and was not ... And Ashley made it very clear on the phone today that I was wrong about how to deal with road tax I was given the whole log book and told to go to the post office to change it from disabled to diesel From a person who has purchased multiple vehicles from all around the UK in the last 10 years I was shocked at this any company with decent customer service would of charged me the amount there and given me the new keepers slip and taken the log book to the post office to tax it Not people I would deal with again at all read more

One star is too many. These guys are straight up theives. The Attorney General should do an investigation. Bought a car, it immediately started shaking after purchasing it. Took it to a mechanic that quoted $3500 to make road safe. When I went back they agreed to help and then ghosted me. This isn't "Buyer Beware" ... just don't be their next buyer. read more

And let me just say, if you're ever wondering what it's like to purchase a vehicle in the ninth circle of hell, look no further. Let's start with first impressions: I walk into their office and immediately feel like I've stepped into a forgotten corner of a mechanic's garage. The place reeks and looks like it hasn't been cleaned since the Bush administration. But hey, I'm here for a car, not a candlelit dinner, right? Unfortunately, things only go downhill from there. Quick backstory -- I flew in from California just for this car. Straight from the airport, I Uber to the dealership like an excited little car-loving gremlin. I sign all the paperwork, hand over my hard-earned money, and think I'm good to go. Plot twist: they now tell me I have to wait 45 minutes for them to "pick up the title/pink slip." Seriously? I've got an 18-hour drive back home ahead of me, and they hit me with this? Whatever. I finally get the title, walk out to meet my shiny new ride and... yikes. The car looks like it's been parked in a dust storm since the Stone Age. Not a single wash in sight. Still, I'm trying to stay optimistic. I get in, start it up, and the car starts shaking like it's trying to escape reality. Idle feels rough, but it smooths out once I'm moving -- so I make a mental note and head out. About an hour and a half later than I wanted to, I start my epic road trip back to Cali. Except... literally as I pull out of the lot, I notice the transmission starts shaking violently when RPMs go over 3k. Oh, and the clutch? It sticks halfway up every once in a while when shifting gears. Fun! But wait, there's more: I literally can't get into 5th gear without feeling like I'm grinding my soul through the transmission. If you've ever driven stick, you know exactly what I'm talking about. Now let me remind you -- this car was supposedly in "great condition" and had no issues according to the dealership. Somehow -- and I mean by the grace of God Himself -- I make it back home in one piece. Three days in, I take the car to a mechanic because duh, this thing is clearly falling apart. What do they tell me? Just a casual quote of $3,475 to replace the clutch, flywheel, three broken engine mounts, and a broken transmission mount. I nearly passed out. Now, I'm a full-time student and I work two jobs, so dropping $3.5K out of nowhere isn't really in the cards. I decide to baby the car as much as I can and only drive when absolutely necessary. Spoiler alert: that didn't work out. By Day 4, the clutch is on life support and the check engine light pops on like it's saying, "surprise!" Back to the mechanic I go. They tell me it's gonna cost another $300 just to diagnose the engine light. Possible causes? Oh, just a $2000 crankcase valve problem. Cool cool cool. Defeated, I go to leave the shop -- and boom. The battery's dead. Yes, really. I get a jump, limp home on what's left of the clutch, and decide to text the dealership. They ask for proof of the issues (which I send immediately), and then... crickets. Not a word back since. I originally was told the car was in great conditions with no issues, but recently called them back and was essentially told that i should have expected the car to be broken because it's used. I'll update this post if they ever decide to acknowledge my existence. But until then, take this as your sign: do not even think about buying a car from this dealership unless you enjoy emotional damage and spontaneous combustion. read more

Odd discrepancy between the Google reviews (which I believe are paid) and the Yelp ones. Went there to look at a car and looked up the VIN, car was bought at auction in terrible condition so I assume that's how they obtained most of their cars, with prices jacked up and them doing the bare minimum to get the car looking okay and running. They wouldn't go down in price and laughed, saying they'd have SOMEONE buy a car for the price they listed. That someone might not have looked up the VIN. The Carfax they provided had NO INFORMATION ABOUT THE CAR BEING SOLD AT AUCTION. When we brought that up, they denied it LOL - liars and crooks. My 2009 Hyundai Accent I bought seemed fine when I bought it for $5400 dollars, but later I found out it needed the brakes done, needed radio antenna fixed, needed new license plate light and one brake light bulb, new engine air filter and cabin air filter and new tires. should have been a couple thousand dollars cheaper. read more

Bought a Honda CR-V here on 9/6/22. The A/C wasn't working; they dumped some freon in and it worked great; they told me they'd find the leak in the A/C system and deliver the car to me all the way up in Everett the next day. I was full of praises for these seemingly lovely people. Well, the A/C conked out yesterday and my mechanic just delivered the following news: "Whoever 'helped' you with the A/C put some kind of sealant into the system. I'm not going to destroy my machine running a diagnostic on this" and the only option is a complete tear-out of the A/C system, at a cost of nearly $3k. Buyer beware. These people are not honest, not kind, and will happily screw up your life in order to make a sale. read more

BUYER BEWARE!!! I came into The Car Outlet to purchase a vehicle for work. I live in the Seattle metro area and am a house painter. I needed a reliable car with room for gear to travel to different work sites that are typically within a 5 mile radius of my home. I paid $4,000 cash for a subaru station wagon. I purchased the vehicle on Saturday, May 15th. It was working well during the test drive and there were no mystery sounds or other red flags. Cut to 2 weeks and 2 days later on the evening of Memorial Day and it overheated A LOT on the highway with my 4 year old son in the back seat. We had to get it towed to a nearby mechanic who told us it had a blown head gasket and other serious damage and that we would need to put in around the same amount we paid for it to fix it to running condition. We called The Car Outlet and they told us that they had a number for a mechanic THEY KNEW who could fix the head gasket for $1,000 (never mind that it had issues besides this). So we called the number and the mechanic did not know them and also said that it would be much more to get our car back on the road. Our only option was to sell it on craigslist for $500 to a mechanic. The first mechanic who looked at it told us that it had cracked cylinders. They also told us it had a pre-existing condition with a bad head gasket which you could see in the swollen radiator hose. It went downhill fast! I only noticed a slight rattling sound a couple days before the head gasket blew. The second mechanic to look at it (who bought it) told us the engine thermostat was missing! Ultimately it need a new engine altogether. We of course expressed our disappointment to The Car Outlet and they responded with crickets. No word at all. They completely swindled us. If a car search leads you to The Car Outlet LLC my 1st recommendation would be to turn around and find a reputable dealer elsewhere. A 2005 Honda bought here turned out to have such significant engine damage that a certified auto repair shop's only recommended fix would be an engine replacement which would double the cost of this vehicle just to safely drive it from this point forward. We bought this car on 4/27/19 and took it to our mechanic on 4/19/19 to do an oil change to find out the actual condition of this vehicle. I contacted the owner only to have him claim NO responsibility on his part for selling a mechanically damaged vehicle. In a previous BBB client complaint (2/13/18) this car business claimed it has a mechanic look and repair cars they put on the lot to sell. If this is true then the owner had previous knowledge of the condition of the car we bought. When questioned multiple times about whether this car had any problems the repeated answer was, "no problems that we are aware of"! Beware of this auto seller! read more
