Why did I ever think that this would be a plus and not a minus, British food is notoriously mediocre to the point that Indian food is probably the most popular food in Britain. This place is fancy and has a nice ambiance and good service, but otherwise the food is quite "mid" and pricey for what you get. Totally unremarkable food in a place that looks nice. You can do so much better for so much less in the area that there's really no point in going here unless for some god forsaken reason you're craving $29 fish and chips. read more

The WORST experience I have ever had. So sad. An empty restaurant. Every single table every single reservation is completely open. I made a reservation late the night before as a comfort to have, and went to bed. In the morning my flight was delayed and I wouldn't be arriving in time. I called and left a message first thing (9am). I received a hostile jaw dropping call telling me $50 per 6 heads will be charged. $300. Im still in shock, no exceptions - they need the money desperately with no business, but this is a sure way to LOSE any. That's a lot of money, and I find it so disturbing no ounce of care came from the female manager on the phone - in fact it was such an awful hostile experience I feel scared to even go near the place! How on earth would I enjoy a dinner ever with the hatred and mean judging of the staff? I have been to a couple of the holiday dinners at Cavalier now and always had a lovely time. This year for Thanksgiving was no exception right up until the end. My partner and I had every add on their menu, including the osetra caviar two bottles of Billecart Salmon and our check was probably about eight or $900 actually probably more +20%. The food was as good as you can expect with limited menu holiday fare. As we were leaving, we had the brilliant idea to stop at the bar and have a cocktail on the way out. I guess it was about 9 o'clock. There was about five or six tables left in the restaurant. We engaged the bartender in some chat and talked about what we want as a final cocktail and just as he picked up the shaker to make our well thought out drinks the hostess came over and told him we're closed. We're closed. We're closed. It should be noted that on the way in. I had tipped her $20 and the other host $20 for working the holidays, must suck. I know it did when I had to do it. The bartender had the shaker in his hand, ready to make the cocktails. There were plenty of tables left and it was a very, very awkward moment, we thought she was joking, but no get out, time to go. What a dreadful way to end and otherwise flawless experience we might be back, might not I don't know who cares I've been stewing on this for weeks now and the world has to know just when you think you've scored a great place for a lovely holiday dinner. They can find a way to screw it up right at the end, well done. I would understand if everybody was twiddling their thumbs waiting for their last table to leave, but that was far from the case as I mentioned I've worked holidays before, and I wouldn't dream of being that person, the one who keeps everyone from salvaging what little moments they have left of the day with their family, but this time it wasn't the customer that was callous or uncaring. Stumbled upon this clubby tavern gem on the way back to the 5th and Mission garage. Cozy ambience, but no oppressive. An SF version of an upscale English pub. Service is excellent. Very attentive, professional staff. Food was amazing. Best fish and chips I've ever had. The creamed spinach is the perfect blend of garlic cream and of course spinach. Thanksgiving Prix Fixe Menu was just right so as to not overindulge! We were the first customers there so they were still starting up for a busy day. We were welcomed and sat right away. Everyone was very nice and friendly- explained the cocktails and each course. I started with "The Barrister" cocktail which was a perfectly blended old fashioned! First course was Amuse - Olive & Artichoke Tapenade, herbed butter and sesame bread that was addicting! My appetizer was mini lamb chops well done and fall-off-the-bone tender. Got to taste the Honeynut Squash Soup and the Salad - all yummy! My main course was Turkey - tasty but I was salivating over my wife's Ribeye Steak! The shared sides were Mashed Potatoes and Brioche Stuffing - both very good - the Green Beans were a little too salty. Pecan Pie for dessert was decadent. My introduction would likely be H Salt Esquire Fish & Chips as a preteen, then graduating to shepherd's pies from Costco or random pubs during my post college years. And yes, I do enjoy that Fisherman's Wharf stand with limited hours that sounds like a Mafia movie. Well, this entry from the Marlowe Group has long been on my radar. Early this year, tired of the normal lunch rotation by my office, I decided that it was time to pay a visit with my coworker friend on a weekday afternoon. Walking in without reservations, the host led us to a table to the left of the stand in the bar area. We were quickly seated, offered menus, and our waiter promptly offered us the drink menu. I enjoy heavier flavors so I was dipping my fish in the malt vinegar aioli on almost every bite. On this afternoon, there were more diners in the bar area than in the main dining area on the right. I believe this is the fifth or sixth restaurant at this location which is part of the neighboring hotel. I remember dining here at its first inception Bistro M opened by late chef Michel Richard in the mid '90's. The floorplan changed several times but the latest design is actually very similar to the original. Service was brisk and efficient with dirty plates and utensils removed and replaced and drink glasses refilled. Budget wise for me, this is not an everyday lunch spot, more of a business lunch or dress to impress destination. I will return and hope to try their more extensive dinner menu. Don't let the location fool you, as The Cavalier is a modern yet homey homage to British pubs of yesterday combined with a San Francisco sensibility all its own. Located in the first floor of the Hotel Zetta but off to the far left-hand side in the alleyway known Jessie Street, if you walk too fast you might miss the front door. I have been to both lunch and Happy Hour at The Cavalier and I would have to say that both meals are great place where you get the best bang for your buck considering the prices of other restaurants in the same area of San Francisco's Financial District. Happy Hour is a great deal at The Cavalier because it runs weekdays for three hours from 2:30 to 5:30 p.m. We came at about 5 p.m. on a Thursday evening and were sat with so much room to spare that they combined two of their bistro tables that sit two people so we could have more room for our food. There are nine food items on their Happy Hour menu, all of which have a British cuisine sensibility, not unlike their regular dinner menu. The one item that really isn't British inspired is their hamburger, which is known as the "Marlowe" burger served with caramelized onions, cheddar cheese, bacon and a side of both horseradish aioli and garlic fries. The minute I saw that this was based on the infamous hamburger from their sister restaurant Marlowe, in the South of Market area of San Francisco, I knew we were going to order it. To add to the food, we ordered their Chicken Nuggets and for a little green in our dinner, their Crispy Brussels Sprout Chips. For cocktails, their Happy Hour menu is a little wanting, as they have two cocktails on this menu and they are mixed drinks at best. You can either order their version of an Old Fashioned or something what they call "In a Penny, In For a Pound" which was basically a vodka or gin (your choice) and a tonic, club soda, or mixer, which for me, I selected 7-Up to pair with vodka. Our food came out very fast as Brussel Sprouts was first thing we tried and was heavily flavored with Vadouvan, which is a type of Indian Spice blend, salty with each bite, it was an acquired taste for some, but the sprouts were toasted to perfection. Then came the best thing we ate all evening, their Marlowe burger, prepared just the way I liked it. medium but still very juicy and full of flavor, this burger when slathered with the horseradish aioli served on the side, only made the flavor profile better. Our final dish was their Chicken Nuggets served with two dipping sauces, mustard and aioli. Battered but not too overtly these were elevated McDonald's Chicken McNuggets at their finest, especially when served piping hot from the fryer. Our cocktail, served in a short glass, was fine, nothing too spectacular. I do wish some of their selections from their regular cocktail menu were served on their Happy Hour menu as that would be an added bonus. We had a great time at The Cavalier, with an amazingly warm ambiance, some would find the abundance of taxidermy on the walls to be a bit of a turn off, but I personally didn't mind as it was kitschy fun. The staff was extremely attentive to our needs and there were plenty of places to sit despite the overall busyness of Happy Hour. And as a customer service he fails to address issue but instead he attacks the comments. If you do not recall what crap you served the other night, I'm sorry to let you know that I still remember the taste after 5 months. It was THAT bad. Fries that were not hot and crispy, but hard and dry. Medium rare Ribeye Steak that I could barely chew and was not properly seasoned. Can you please disclose what grade of steak you were serving, if graded at all? I guess I would barely see any marbling on the raw steak itself. I've tried many items on their menu and my favorite dishes are: 1. Chicken nuggets (bar menu) - mind blowing! You gotta try it and meet the Mother of the McChicken nugget! Their sauces are on point too!!! 2. Beef fat fries - just crispy, soft potato perfection with delicious beef drippings sauce! 3. Lamb ribs - not gamey, great flavor! 4. The pineapple dessert - so many interesting textures and delicious flavors in one, and it's not too sweet! I was planning to catch up with a friend over dinner and we opted for The Cavalier! I mean, not a lot of British foods in the city (that I'm aware of). The Cavalier is located adjacent to Hotel Zetta so it seems quite hidden. The staff was lovely and very informative the entire time we were there. We shared several dishes, here's what we thought: Angel of the North - This cocktail caught my eye because I low-key wanted some tea-time. Strong, well-balanced. Certainly spirit-forward. Brussels Sprouts Chips - Delicious and very heart bowl! Not totally chip-like. BLT Deviled Eggs - Delicious, delightful little bites. Steak Tartare - Yummy, but neither of us liked the polenta chips. They were way too tough to eat! Dungeness Crab Souffle - Neither of us had ever really had a souffle before, but we didn't expect what we got from this. This isn't to say that this wasn't good, because this was our favorite dish by far. Delicious flavors and textures all around....we cleaned the plate down to the leafy garnishes. Fish & Chips - Delicious, one of the tastiest Fish & Chips dishes I've had around the city. The peas were a delightful, bright, green touch. Wild Salmon - This was a delicious dish with quality elements, but I admit that I paid far more attention to the Fish & Chips (between the two entrees). TCHO Chocolate Delice - Never had a delice before...this was a small dish but incredibly flavorful and decadent. Intense, sweet, perfect. During my stay in San Francisco I visited the cavalier twice for breakfast since I was staying in the conjoined hotel. The bar area offers some small tables with coffee-shop like intimacy to get some work done. The wifi however is not efficient. You're better off tethering from your phone. Although the service was spectacular both days, I found the breakfast food to be underwhelming and expensive. The frittata was a shot of rich cheese, under-seasoned egg, and a side salad with an unevenly harsh vinaigrette. The more traditional breakfast though solid, was extremely expensive. 2 poached eggs, bacon, avocado, and a coffee will run you $40. I've heard their burger is amazing, but $25 for a burger seems steep. If you can expense your meal for work The Cavalier could be worth it. If you're just passing through I'd recommend elsewhere. read more

Coming to a fancy American restaurant, I was pretty excited, since having a fine dining experience in SF is a rare opportunity. The inside of the place is your typical higher class diner, but a bit cozier since the interior is pretty tight. Waiters are pretty professional, and menu is organized well. As for the food, I was pretty disappointed. I had oysters for the first time, and I guess I can't complain about them since I have nothing to base against, but I wasn't wowed by them. The quail egg for the starter was a bit bland. To cook it so that the inside was raw was a nice touch, but the spices they put on the outside didn't end up doing anything so the flavor overall was pretty bland. The lamb chops I ordered were fried, but not in a good way. It tasted like someone coated a layer of fat and butter on a good lamb rib, sauteed it a bit, and then slathered the entire rib in dry, bland breading. The ribs were so fatty and bland that I felt sick after eating them. Then for the ribeye, I was actually pretty impressed. The meat was really tender and there weren't really any tendons or bad parts that you can't really chew like most ribeyes have. However, this place let me down again when they served it with fries that were way too crispy and tasted too heavy. When they serve us the appetizer, a HUGE fly landed on one of the eggs. I called the waiter over and ask if they can fix the fly issue and let him know my food was crush landed by one of them. He said "yes, of course. And I will replace the egg for you." Yes. We got a new deviled egg but they did nothing about the FLIES! Instead seating more customers down among the flies. That's the only meal we had today and we were both hugging toilet at one point. Addition context as the manager requested:( minus 1 star because their response) First thing first, the manager instead of apologize for the flies situation, he blamed it on the Covid situation that should be a huge red flag . All restaurants have to follow the same protocol and yet I have never seen a fly else where. Second, in their response they accuse me for false accusation. And yet they did not address why they didn't kill the flies after warned. Nor why they kept sitting people among the flies knowing there are food safety concerns. Third, if restaurant's front has so many flies. I wouldn't imagine what's happening in the kitchen. Forth, I don't know how I can prove my food poisoning incident but it was the only meal WE had for the past 30+ hours. And we both got extremely sick afterwards. We enjoyed dinner with friends after a long time since we last dined at the Cavalier. The atmosphere is comfortably upscale and the tables have a good amount of room between them. The service was attentive without being intrusive, and generally the food was good. The restaurant is somewhat on the loud side, so it is probably not the place to go if you want something quiet and romantic. We enjoyed the crudo, Cavalier salad, and onion rings with spicy cocktail sauce. The deviled eggs were rather small and needed a bit more seasoning. All four of our entrees were well-prepared and presented attractively. My salmon was cooked very nicely and served with a flavorful sauce that was not too heavy. The restaurant has an extensive wine and spirits list. They also have some interesting non-alcoholic drinks, in addition to the usual soft drinks and tea and coffee. I enjoyed my Bramble cocktail, even if it was slightly watered down. The only real miss of the evening were the desserts--all four of us were very disappointed with the bland desserts that had an odd aftertaste. I know restaurants often struggle to serve good desserts. My suggestion is raise the prices $4 or $5 dollars and spend the money to buy quality ingredients to make a truly good dessert, or just serve ice cream. The decor was attractive and fascinating to look at. The seats were comfortable, with ample space between tables. I had a tasty White Lady with gin and egg white. We started with the shrimp boat, Brussels sprouts chips, and Scotch egg. I was psyched to finally try a Scotch egg, but the duck egg had a metallic flavor that I disliked. The Brussels sprouts chips sounded good in theory, but the caramelized, bordering on burnt flavor wasn't good. Thankfully my husband enjoyed the shrimp. I was much happier with the entrees we shared: ribeye with horseradish mashed potatoes and roasted cod with pea salad. The meat was cut into large pieces. Not sure why. But it was tender and flavorful. I always love horseradish mashers and The Cavalier's were very good. The cod was on the small side, but incredibly succulent. I can't believe it was only seared and roasted. The pea green salad was extremely good. I'm going to try to make it at home.  For dessert we had the sticky toffee pudding. This is one of my favorite desserts. The Cavalier's version was fine. I wish it had been larger and I'm not a fan of pomegranate seeds sprinkled over things. The whipped cream was quite good. Even though our food was hit and miss, the customer service really elevated our experience here. Everyone was friendly and helpful. When I asked where the bathroom was, a waiter walked me halfway there so I didn't get lost (it was outside the restaurant, in the hotel, but not annoyingly far). Our waiter in particular was fantastic. I wish I'd asked his name. When he saw we barely touched two of our apps he asked for feedback. Even though we said it wasn't necessary, he removed both items from the bill. If we'd had to eat the cost (haha) of those dishes I might have been reluctant to dine at The Cavalier again. Ten stars! Wedding reception celebration was a huge success! Manager Jason Villavisencio graciously took care of our every need and made us feel like our event was very important to him, even at the busiest of times. Bartender Derek was closing up night before the reception when we needed beverages in the adjacent Hotel Zetta playroom. He brought us drinks and kept service going! We were so lucky to have him and Ross as our private bartenders during the reception the next evening. Their over the top attentiveness and anticipation of our every need was noticed by all guests. The ambiance of the Blue Bar and the Marianne Room is unbeatable. The food and cocktails were superb. Ross makes his own kombucha and flew to Mexico to choose a house tequila; ingredients in his signature London Bridge cocktail. Plates were served family style and absolutely scrumptious. It was my first time at this restaurant and I was really looking forward to it. We were greeted by very nice staff. Since I was starving, all I could think of was having Brussels sprouts first. I love Brussel sprouts and almost order them at every restaurant. So Brussels sprout chips weren't exactly what I had hoped them to be. With every bite all I can taste was lemon zest. For our mains we had cauliflower steak and fish and chips. The mains overall were good, I probably should've gotten something other than cauliflower. Have to hand it to them, their food was amazing! Came by for lunch and had a delicious and satisfying meal. Very unique appetizers (maybe they're just British and I didn't know them :P) that were super addicting. The only downside was they have quite steep prices. Very high class, upscale ambiance and wait staff was very attentive, but with the price tag, I wouldn't be able to come very often. But probably worth the indulgence every once in a while :) For appetizers: Baked oysters were alright, probably good particularly if you don't like the slimey feel of raw oyster, it was mainly breadcrumbs and I couldn't taste much else. The hen egg hollandaise (ham and cheese soldiers aka mini sandwiches) were so addicting we had to order extra plates of it :P The crispy brussels sprout chips were good, but not really my style, though many many people love this item. The duck egg was delicious, with a well-breaded and crispy exterior, but still a soft-boiled egg on the inside. No idea how they did that, but it was tasty! The lamb scrumpets were also yummy! I got the fish and chips for my entree, which came with 3 pieces of fish, mint peas, a bunch of fries (or chips for the Brits) and a delicious aioli sauce. Very generous portion size overall, and the fish was piping hot! The mint peas were actually my favorite part, as I love peas and the mint was really a great combo (never had it this way before!). It was a pretty hefty amount of mint peas too. Fries/chips weren't that special (and were thin-cut, not the wider cut that they're supposed to be). Overall, not bad for $24, though still a bit on the pricey side in general for fish and chips. The rib-eye was amazing according to other people in my party, and was a very generous portion size, but I thought was a bit overly priced at $35. All in all, a great restaurant with really good food and service, but definitely on the pricey end. Good for indulging, and they also do large group reservations and/or private events. Love the vibes of this place. They were able to sit my large party together which is a total plus. Everything from the interior decor, drinks, and food was great. Most of the entrees are enough for two people or great for sharing. I had the rack of lamb + the crab cake souffle that I split with SO. We would probably pass on the crab cake souffle, it was lack luster and it looked a bit like crab pancake on a bed of shredded iceberg lettuce. For my drink I had the London Bridge which was such a unique combo of tequila and komucha (and you definitely need to like kombucha if you get this drink). IDK if I'd have this the WHOLE night but it was a fun drink to start the evening with. For dessert I had the grilled pineapple vacherin which made the evening worth it. I have one word for this place. Incredible. I wanted a few days to write this review because I wanted to do justice to a restaurant my fiance and I haven't stopped talking about since. This was the first time back at a restaurant since the pandemic started, and The Cavalier didn't disappoint. I didn't know what to make of it when I saw that they considered themselves "modern British restaurant," but the minute I walked in, I got it. I took a moment to take in the beautifully curated aesthetic of the restaurant, with its deep reds, plaid accents, and gold frames surround the interior, the wait staff seated my party of six pretty quickly and got us drinks within a couple of minutes, along with giving us the menu. My expectations regarding the food were instantly heightened when I saw the small menu, which is just the thing you want to see in a place like this. Small menu = food that I know will be high quality, and I was absolutely right. The apps we got (brussel sprout chips, King Louie Ceviche, and BLT deviled eggs) were well seasoned, with bursts of layered flavors, great to share in a large group, and visually appetizing. Cocktails also get a huge shoutout, especially the Troia Nova, which my fiance enjoyed throughout his meal, and I got to take a sip. It made me wish I wasn't DD that night. But the server did leave me a large bottle of Pellegrino which I appreciated. I ordered the Wild Salmon with roasted fennel, celery root purèe, shaved fennel & apple salad for dinner. While I would have liked something along the lines of some roasted fingerling potatoes to go with the meal, the salmon was perfectly cooked. Crispy skin (which I could hear like a symphony I dragged my butter knife along the skin ), delicate pink color, flaky meat, and seasoned to perfection. The puree was bright in color and added much-needed balance to the fennel, with small hints of brightness added with the thinly shaved green apples. I took my time eating it, and there wasn't a bite left when I finished. I did steal a bite of my fiance's grilled ribeye and fries. All I can say is I need to come back again and get that for myself. The ribeye was cooked medium-rare, perfectly seasoned, and so juicy from just one bite. My fiance was especially impressed that the fries were made with beef tallow, which enhanced crisp outside and soft, pillowy inside the fry. It might be the perfect fry if I'm candid here. My friends also loved the Fish and Chips, so I'm excited to try that next time. Dessert rolled around, and the server recommended the Tcho Chocolate Delice with creme fraiche, hazelnut & cocoa nib croccante. My friend and I shared this decadent dessert while I sipped on a macchiato. While the lovely, smooth, and slightly sweet chocolate delice in flavor, the creme fraiche was much appreciated to balance the richness, so it wasn't too over the top. I especially loved the chopped toasted hazelnuts on top for that texture I wanted. I can't sing the praises of this establishment enough. The service and staff were amazing. Not that anyone really cares, but I could tell the staff is at its peak because of lots of genuine smiles, little jokes, and communication between staff, creating that great atmosphere one wants to see when observing the operations of a restaurant. More than anything, I loved seeing the pride everyone had about the Cavelier. Speaking with Andrew, the General Manager, drove that pride home as we got to talk for ten minutes about everything and showing me the Speakeasy in the back. It just makes going to places like this a treat. We will be coming back very soon, excited to try more items on the menu and possibly even getting a chance to lounge in the speakeasy area for a birthday event. All I know is this restaurant will be part of my SF recommendations to my friends and work network moving forward. read more

Yikes. Our team came here for a happy hour, which ends at 5:30pm. A bunch of us ordered at around 5pm, and we didn't get our drinks until after 5:30pm. They spilled a coca cola on two of my co-workers who they took 30 minutes to bring a beer to. One of the servers also spilled a beverage all over one of my co-worker's backpacks when cleaning up another table. The fries and Brussels sprouts were salty. They put some sort of curry powder on the brussels sprouts, which was interesting. The amount of food for the cost was tiny. Beers in general were flat, but maybe that's what they're going for with this whole English vibe? read more

Really strong breakfast spot from the Marlowe and Park Tavern veterans. Feels like a little brasserie with great food stellar service and ample deer heads as decor. Some amazing pancakes and also enjoyed the mushroom frittata. Perfect spot near the old mint. Will definitely try this place again. read more

Where brunch and The Cavalier are concerned there's an elephant in the room, going by the name of Park Tavern (same owners; they also own Marlowe). Owing to the ambiance and menu I prefer brunch at Park Tavern over brunch at The Cavalier but sometimes - say annually - you need to mix things up. For 12 years now I've hosted an annual Holiday brunch for myself and a group of friends and for the past couple of years I've done so at Park Tavern. This year I chose The Cavalier and the lukewarm reaction from a friend who'd been there for their happy hour left me questioning my choice. When I arrived for a 10:45 a.m. reservation the dining room was empty and the table I was offered was adjacent to the front door, an undesirable location for me and my guests. I asked if I could get a different, better table for my special brunch, perhaps one of those which is half-booth and, without rehashing the whole interaction let's just say the first answer was "no". A second hostess, a sympathetic hostess, then offered to move together some tables in the bar area and I jumped at this completely workable solution. Service in this area, from the tattooed bartender to our charming waiter, Manuel, was excellent. At brunch, The Cavalier offers a wide variety of mostly egg-based dishes. The menu seemed to have fewer treats for sharing than Park Tavern but we found suitable ways to continue this tradition. From the little ham and cheese "soldiers" of the Hen Egg Hollandaise ($12) to the Duck Duck Scotch Egg (a yolk-oozing egg wrapped in duck confit), and an order of Buttermillk Pancakes with Amaretto and Brown Butter Golden Syrup, the starters were rich and enticing. All five in my party enjoyed a variety of brunch dishes ranging from Shakshuka ($14) to Corned Beef Hash ($16) to a meaty "The English" ($21). I opted for Baghdad Eggs ($15), described as "sunny side hen eggs, brown butter, toasted garlic, chili, lemon and mint on grilled sourdough leaven" and the dish was as good as it sounded. The Buttermilk Pancakes ($14) with Amaretto and Brown Butter Golden Syrup were another big winner. In short, there wasn't a brunch item sampled that wasn't enjoyed so by all means, add the place to your list. As the meal wound down the friend who'd had a negative happy hour experience here shared her story and I recapped my initial interaction with one of the workers at the entrance. All of our dissatisfaction with The Cavalier stemmed from a seating policy which seems to honor those who are not (and may never be) present over those who are there and accounted for. If it was a single instance I'd not remark on it but 2 instances? Its a policy and it left me with a sour taste. Besides the weird, unwelcoming seating policy (which, even when my party departed, found the dining room far from full) The Cavalier is a smart and satisfying dining choice. I prefer the ambiance of Park Tavern but with the exception of one staff member, the waiter, the bartender, and one of the hostesses well-demonstrated hospitality. Oh man...I just found the best pancakes in the city and I didn't have to wait in line to get them. Seriously, make an opentable reservation and you're golden. Cute spot right off of westfield mall in an alley. No parking. It's London inspired so expect some dishes dedicated to that theme. They're also connected to Marlowe, hence, the Marlowe burger on the menu, and park tavern. Anyhoo, we started off with the scotch egg. I just think that this is such an amazing thoughtful little dish which takes so much time and skill to create. You know it's the real deal when you crack it open and the yolk is runny. Yes! The touch of sea salt on top was definitely what this dish needed as it might be a little bland without it. For our brunch items, we went with the buttermilk pancakes with amaretto and brown butter syrup. Wowza. The pancakes were ridonk. Super fluffy, thick, great texture, and the syrup was on point. I really believe that these reign as the best pancakes in the city. A must when you come here for brunch. Our other dish was the English, 2 eggs, bacon, bangers, mushrooms, tomatoes, and levain. Eggs were poached perfectly. Bacon was soft cooked just the way I like it. Bangers were flavorful and loved accompanying everything with the veggies and bread. What a dish of perfection. Service was great. Prices were decent. I highly recommend this spot for your next brunch date. read more

Looking for a great ambiance and food or a nice date night?! You score with this place! Very surprised that I never discovered this place before. It's on the outside of Hotel Zetta. Fifth & Mission parking garage is around the corner for your convenience. A very nice restaurant, clean and lovely decor of old world style look. I personally loved it. You would not think this place was happening but after we got here before 11a, it filled up rather quickly. The staff was great and attending. I came here for a bachelorette luncheon and they did not give us a hard time for staying like three hours. They are open for breakfast all the way through dinner. If brunch was good, dinner should be as well. My eldest daughter was with me to share our plates and I had a taste of others food as well. I chose their Corned Beef And Potato Hash. This was just made right. The poached egg on top blended well with everything on my plate. It was not super sized portion like other breakfast places and that is fine with me. Quality over quantity is best!! My daughter chose the Smoke Salmon on Avocado toast. Wow, simple to make but so good even the side salad was good. Like I said the portions are just right. I also had a taste of their scones and buttermilk pancakes and were very good, too. I will have to come back for more or try their dinner. The price was good for me as what I had was done well.
