Obviously the broth, noodles, and meat is extremely important, but making all of those things well, CONSISTENTLY, is key. That's what this place does; consistently makes amazing pho broth, well textured noodles, tender meat, and a balanced portion. I can't speak on behalf of the other items on their menu, but I can 100% vouch for their pho. I've had probably over 30 different pho places, and this is in the top 3 for sure. The staff is extremely respectful and does not rush you, and the restaurant is very cool. Nothing unique, but the environment will surprise you when you see that talking robot serving tables (definitely a gimmick btw and unnecessary, yet kinda cool). CONS: I spent $70 with 18% tip. I have been coming to this pho spot for years and enjoyed the family owned business. However, the owner has been skimping on portions HEAVILY. We paid for the large bowl. Especially the better quality meat such as flank is skimped. If you do not order the regular "#1 Chef's special Pho with mixed fatty meats and instead order something clean cut like a flank(cost more $) they skimp on the amount. That's unethical to me as I'm paying a hefty price for a decent meal. It could be the customers first meal of a long day...spending their hard earned money on your business. We also ordered a chicken stir fried rice which flat out was just all rice really. Also little amount of chicken, but what was the most off-putting was that it smelled like fish. Like really bad stinky fish for some weird reason. Bottom line: I know the economy is tough, but as a long time customer, I am very disappointed with the experience recently. I expect more meat even if the price was more initially upfront, I would still pay as long as the portion was the same. We all understand inflation, but I was eating the remaining broth and noodles. The sign said: Please wait to be seated, so when approached they asked if a table would be okay, we said we'd prefer to wait for a booth and they seemed to be okay with it, we asked how long and they said 10-15 minutes and took our name down. Parking: Open, free lot. I ordered the Chef's Choice Pho. It had all the seasonings and ticked all the boxes. I would say that this pho was just a little sweeter than pho from other places. Try to find a good Pho restaurant in the Ontario area and it's near impossible to find. I would definitely consider this to be a gem. We stopped by here after a long weekend of snowboarding up in Big Bear. Boy, did the broth hit the spot. I personally went with The Chef's Pho because why not? Portions were on the smaller side compared to Pho in the San Gabriel Valley, but that didn't stop me from ordering because they had fairly low prices. We have lived in Ontario for 3 years now and I can't believe this place had gone unnoticed. We saw it randomly when we went grocery shopping af Smart & Final. My husband and I are very picky with pho. We have been lucky yo have found in the past some really good restaurants. We had settled for Bone and Broth in Rancho Cucamonga, although we never thought it was that good. So, we were very happy to have found this place. We ordered pho #6, which is the rare beef pho. It was excellent. We also ordered some vegetarian spring rolls. The peanut sauce was flavorful. My only complaint was we almost missed the peanuts in the peanut sauce. Usually the peanuts come inside, but they were underneath the peanut sauce container. So we missed them until the end. Next time we will be ready. Something that disappointed us was that there were no vegetarian egg rolls. I feel that is something that would sell well. I dont eat seafood and was disappointed that egg rolls on the menu have shrimp. We ordered online so we can speak on the restaurant service entirely but or order was done correctly and rather quickly. The food was ready before we received the text message telling us our food was ready. So if I were you, I wouldn't wait until that text messages arrives. Your food might sit there cold. We were halfway though our meal when that text messages came in saying our order was ready. Over all we liked it. We will go back. Please, please, get some veggie egg rolls! read more
