I was very happy with the flavor and portion size. My kids split a second order of pho and my husband got the charbroiled chicken rice dish. We also got an order of egg rolls and spring rolls with charbroiled pork. My only con was that the rice paper for the spring rolls was very soft and thin. The rolls got stuck and tore. I had my share of Vietnamese food over the years in several places in CA and in my travels outside the country. This place is not awful but having tried other places that are by far better I would not be back. We ordered the ribeye steak garlic noodles and a chow main combination plate. The ribeye stake on my dish was hard and chewy difficult to cut, I could not eat it so my husband traded plates with me. Also, the noddles were sticky and didn't seem fresh. I visited this place with my family 2 weeks ago and ordered a few items, the food was very tasty except for the soup because it was never served. We waited about 20 mins and were done eating most of our order and then we were told that our soup was not ready. After the staff checked with the kitchen they told us they were working on it and then I asked that they take it off my bill. They said we can have it on the house if we waited 15 more minutes, by this time I was too tired of waiting and said no. The older lady in the back was actually rude and seemed bothered by us, I don't know if I would come back even though I originally stopped here for pho and did not have a chance to taste it. The food is ok. Just ok. I was hopeful as it had 4.6 stars, but here's the issue... The service is terrible, and the food isn't good enough to make up for it. We stacked our plates as we finished them, so the table was clear, they just continually walked past and left them there until we had finished our pho. Then we waited and waited for the bill, and no one came. Just no initiative, so we went to the cash register and asked to pay. The staff just have NO initiative. Here's another example, when we asked how big the regular and large phos were, the bowl size, our server used her hands. I had to ask her to go and get the bowls so I could make an informed decision. As for the pho itself, no nasty frozen veggies or carrots, so that's good; but I prefer a richer broth. Won't be going back. read more

With a thin piece of jalapeno wedged in, barely visible, there's hardly any meat (2 small pieces) and lacking in flavor. Lee's sandwiches makes way better banh mi and with enough meat filling. The chicken pho was okay. Nothing spectacular, I've had better pho soups in other Vietnamese restaurants. Condiments were minimal, only packets of hoisin sauce and soy sauce. We ordered: Pho - not sure which one but it looked like it had some of everything and my dad liked it Lemongrass beef vermicelli - my order and this was amazing. The beef was tender and the lemongrass flavor added brightness to the dish. The vermicelli noodles were perfect Grilled pork, shrimp, egg roll w/vermicelli - my mom's order, she gave me her grilled shrimp and those were delicious as well Grilled pork with rice - my brother's order. He finished the whole plate so I'm assuming this was delicious as well lol We also got egg rolls and spring rolls, both of which were delicious and tasted fresh. Nice little spot in the Smart n Final shopping center. I just happened to need a little comfort food and broth and this place really hit the spot. Found it on Yelp and decided to try it due to the high ratings. I ordered the #2 Special. It came out hot and with too much rice noodle for my taste. I prefer a lot of broth and just a handful of noodles. Can't really complain though, because I devoured the entire dish... yes, all of that comforting carb goodness, plus all the broth. Simply put, this place beats the excellent pho test: you know it's good when you make it down to the bottom of the bowl and your broth is still hot. Nice set up with booths and nice music. Can def tell it's someone's curated playlist, but definitely fitting for the occasion. Needless to say, Yelpers came through on this one. First timer reviewer here! I enjoyed their #23 meal that had hot broth, egg noodles, shrimp, imitation crab, and bbq pork. It was good but the portions of the port was very little and they were sliced so thin, the image on the many made it look like u were going to receive thick chunky portions of pork. So, that was a disappointment. I also enjoyed their eggrolls which were a 10/10 but their spring rolls were 5/10. There wasn't enough protein in it but their sauce was good! Another criticism is that none of our dishes were removed from our table when we're done with them and placed to the side where the waiters can easily take them away. They were never taken away. Wow. I haven't had this place in maybe a year; and the quality has gone WAY down. The spring rolls were filled with so much chopped up lettuce; it was over powering - I ended up cutting them open to remove half. The Vegetable Pho broth (regular not spicy) had NO FLAVOR. I normally get the spicy broth; but wanted to try the regular on its own - and I wish I hadn't. I ordered an extra side of broth and noddles; and tossed the broth down the drain and threw the noddles in the trash; they were ugh themselves. The vegetables in the soup were not fresh - and I picked them all out and tossed them as well. Unfortunately; I will not be giving this place another chance in the future - lesson learned. read more

I recently discovered this gem of an restaurant named the chef's pho. This has now quickly became my go-to spot for tasty Vietnamese food. Their spring rolls are packed full of fresh ingredients and served with a flavorful peanut dipping sauce. But the real star is their vermicelli bowls, we got the grilled shrimp and the shrimp were cooked perfectly and is incredibly juicy and flavorful, served over vermicelli noodles cooked to perfection. It's topped with shredded lettuce, pickled carrots, cucumbers and peanuts and served with a wonderfully balanced fish sauce. Everything on the menu bursts with genuine Vietnamese flavors. From the friendly staff to their tasty menu offerings. I can't recommend this spot enough for delicious, no-frills Vietnamese cuisine. read more
