This place has been on our bucket list for awhile now. The wait times alone had us so curious! If you come at 5pm, the wait was only a few min. Overall, enormous menu, great food, fun atmosphere, and good service. Can't ask for much more than that. Really enjoyed our waiter too, Jon F- funny, interactive, and thoughtful. We got the penne vodka, boneless wings with honey bbq, and sweet potato fries. After seeing the girl next to us order one of those waffle sundaes, we got one for dessert with vanilla and chocolate ice cream! Finally got to try this quirky brunch spot in LBI. Great experience all around!! We were warmly greeted at the door and seated quite promptly. Our server provided excellent service throughout our entire meal!! The food was absolutely delicious !!! Unfortunately our eyes were bigger than our appetite lol!! I was brave enough to try there Ludicrous hot sauce!! I can hande extreme heat, but I have to say that they are not playing around with that isht!! Unbelievably ! Try it at your own risk! So good at what they do, they have absolutely dominated this market in Beach Haven! Walk in anytime for all day brunch or many other types of food, as they offer a wide and expansive menu for the whole family, and enjoy friendly service and faster-than-lightning dishes coming out of the kitchen that deliver on flavor. My only complaint is that I had a bad experience with their eggs Benedict & Florentine eggs Benny takeouts, so hoping that was a fluke. But truly a treasure of Beach Haven for sure, my kids love it, and we are happy to see that chicken and the egg has expanded to include an exclusive takeout storefront, as well as a pizzeria! read more

A staple if you're in the LBI area. As my first time at the Chegg, I was surprised and shocked by the long queue and appreciated the availability of the waitlist on Yelp - over an hour to wait and while dining, the queue became longer. Tried their BCT omelette which was delicious and their pancakes were slightly too doughy for my liking. Fries were amazing and crispy - definitely order the Santos sauce on the side! Waited about 30 minutes to get in at 11am on Wednesday Waitress was young and friendly French toast was great, pancakes were good, egg with cheese was ok, sausage was ok, bacon was ok, they butter your bread (which I dislike), Orange juice has a ton of pulp, and the home fries were not edible. This place is infamous for many things.....wings, breakfast to name a few. It is always PACKED but so worth it. You can now just join Yelp's waitlist though that's helpful. Takeout is amazing and I am always intrigued with the amount of takeout visit they do. Ideally this would be a fantastic business to own. The staff is great and they are all young and heavily tatted! So much fun, it was tough waiting for April to arrive as that is when they open for the season. I don't really need to tell you any of this because I feel as though everyone knows about this joint. Went to The Chicken or the Egg for breakfast a few weeks ago. Although I have heard great things, I was disappointed with the place. My friends and I joined the Yelp waitlist before going, it originally said a 40 minute wait which we were prepared to arrive for and then all the sudden switched to a 15 minute wait. The drive from where we were staying in LBI was 20 minutes making it impossible for us to arrive when our table was called. When we got there we explained the situation to the hostess and had to rejoin the waitlist which was now up to 1 hour. The food was good for breakfast, but nothing too special. I recommend getting the cinnamon roll french toast for something fun and different. Good food but overhyped. read more

They said the food was good but the waiter was not very nice. They went to pay and the cashiers were upset because they each had to write out checks. Fluffy pancakes, actual tender chicken fingers, soft scrambled eggs and crispy bacon. They offer a wide range of breakfast, lunch and dinner options and my only regret was not having a bigger appetite so I could try more food. I ordered 10 ludicrous wings, (the spiciest on the menu) and they have to be the spiciest wings I've ever ate. Unfortunately I was on only able to handle eating 2 wings. Went here for breakfast this morning. Everything was great from the service, to the food. The staff was friendly and accommodating. The food was so good and there were so many options to choose from. Grew up eating Chegg and it was always a staple within LBI. However, with the new owners everything has gone done hill except availability to get a table (due to expansion). Vibes are not the same, food quality has significantly worsened, and prices have jumped. This place has turned to a money hungry establishment with less focus on culture and greed. I still will eat at CHEGG or grab takeout every now and then, but the odds of getting sick from food poisoning are high.
