Arizona laws regarding bringing sealed beverages into a bar.

My experience on Sunday 08 03 2025. Sorry sir, no outside food or drinks. Wanted to add my own sealed mixer. Then someone brings cake. Then, someone brings in pizza. Asked to speak to the manager. He says against health code to bring in...food or drinks. But not cake? Not pizza? If it is a health code violation? His words! Maybe it is just his friends!!! I wanted to use a sealed mixer, I know there are laws and health codes, and even bar rules. But it goes to everyone! No, just friends! Owner of this bar if you'd want to reach out tag me. I also asked for your name! The manager would not give it. If it's policy, it applies to everyone and employees. Same as if it was a health code or a law. There is no law or health code about a sealed container. Cake and pizza IDK!!! If anyone i know is acquainted with this bar owner, let me know.

Pretty big steakhouse atmosphere with live music. Some country music and 60s and 70s music. Some people had fun dancing front of the stage. Pretty loud live music and not recommended for intimate dates. We got ribs, porkchop, chicken fried steak, and French dip. Side salad, onion rings, and Porkchop was good. Rib and chicken fried steak was ok. Side veggies had pretty strong garlic flavor. French dip came with very soggy buns and very dry chewy meat (do not recommend). Our server was very fast and not a great service. Handicap parking is very far from the entrance.

My mom's neighbor is 90 and isn't allowed to drive. I tell him they should have taken it away many years prior. Hee hee I took him to The Chicken Ranch per his request. It is a cute little hidden place off of Grand Ave in a location that never seemed to do good with other businesses in the past. He said they had been here a while so I thought that was pretty cool. Walking up they have signs showing they offer a happy hour. They also have posted there is a 3% service charge if you use a credit card so if you plan on visiting bring cash if that concerns you. Walking in there was a sign to seat yourself. There was karaoke going on. People were really good! I never seen karaoke being done live before. Most everyone there were retirement age.. Very busy. Service was really good. I had a salad with my own dressing. No meat. My buddy had a Philly cheese steak sandwich with some fries. He has had the melts, pork chops, fried chicken, and a few other items he has enjoyed in the past. If I could have anything I would get a fried boneless chicken basket with onion rings! Mmmm They have big selection of breakfast and brunch items. Later in thr day they also offer fried chicken and fish baskets, melts, beef sandwiches and brisket, meatloaf. They offer wine by the glass, beer on tap and by bottle. For him it would be a 4 star to me its 3 stars not being bad at all. So 3.5. Everyone there was enjoying themselves and their meals and drinks.

All the staff we interacted with was very friendly. The food was subpar to par. The subpar was the eggs Benedict. Hubby immediately smelled something off as soon as it was placed in front of him... Like a sink full of dishwasher type smell. I immediately knew it was probably the hollandaise sauce. He sent it back and they asked if he wanted to order something else but his stomach was completely put off after smelling his original breakfast. He didn't want to trust anything after that. The manager came over a few minutes later and said that she eats the eggs benedict all the time and it is her favorite and the hollandaise is made fresh daily. But then in the next breath said that she went to check on the sauce and said it did smell off...so she threw it out. My biscuit and gravy tasted ok. But not better than what I could make at home. The teenager ate most of his corned beef and eggs, hashbrowns and about half of his pancakes. I tried I bite off the pancakes and they were tough to cut and chew. Sign of over mixing of the pancake batter. Hubby was pretty disappointed and said it is just another reason and sign that we should just eat at home.

Feel free to post my full visit from your security footage! My husband, kids, and I stopped in for an early dinner, we had never been but see the reviews online so we wanted to try it out! Getting seated, we didn't want a high top and it was the only thing available. The hostesses couldn't give us an estimate of what the wait time would be for a different table, but I'm realizing after our horrendous experience- they probably weren't trained. We ended up just taking the high top to negate any further confusion with a time estimate. It's crowded inside, and your table is crowded. The energy and atmosphere is tense and overwhelming. It's a sports bar, though- so I feel like that's consistent with any other sports bar you'd pop in to. We decided on the build your own appetizer to start, it came out room temperature. While our server was taking our order for the rest of the food (there was apparently an issue with the table next to ours and their food being taken to the incorrect table, again with poor training) the manager went out to the table next to ours to deliver food and turned to the server at my table, taking my order, and interrupted me to yell at her. He yelled at her about putting the incorrect table on the tickets and the food going to the wrong table, yelled at her the right table numbers( I guess for her to remember next time?), and then stormed off. Leaving our server, to pick up the pieces and apologize for an emotionally triggered man that should have some self control if he's leading a team or part of a company. I was absolutely disgusted with the behavior of the leadership in this establishment and the food was unremarkable. Cold, bland, and stingy is how I would describe the food we were served. There were barely any cheese curds on the Poutine, The Ole Smokey pizza was mediocre and the pasta was bland. I think this restaurant rides the coattails of being on the food network but it does not meet expectations, by far. There is a lack of training all around and that falls on leadership, only. The hostesses couldn't give a wait time, the bartender was over serving customers (I'm reporting that separately to the state), and the servers/runners aren't fully trained for the floor- but instead of teaching, training and finding a resolution- their lead will berate and belittle them to satisfy his ego and ruin your experience. I'm actually grateful the food was as mediocre as it was because I'm happy to never be back.

I walked in at 3:16 pm and was at the hostess desk for maybe 7 seconds when the same gentleman came up, greeted me and seated me. He was by the bar and we got talking about the weather, Texas, NY and life. Still early so he pulled up a chair next to my table and we continued our fun dialogue. Turns out this down to earth and very sweet guy is the owner Emilio Kimble. His wife Maria, also a sweetheart and he have brought this same natural love, care and service to their beautiful restaurant. The restaurant is big with indoor and outdoor seating, a gorgeous bar and tv's galore. My friends Barb and Luci arrived and they got their " usual" Tito's and soda plus a Cab. My Diet Coke was refilled constantly by the our very attentive waitress Emily. The food was stupendous. It had to be as Emilio's and Maria's love was contagious- Luci loved her Diamondback burger( photo). Barbara got really quiet ( a rarity)as she chomped on her tremendous pulled pork burger(;photo) and I got a special tuna salad on wheat with grilled peppers and onions and fresh avocado( photo snapped before I inhaled it). It was a beautiful sandwich. The fries were hot, crispy and tasty. It was a great meal. Big portions too. The regulars poured in and the laughter and fun continued as we moved to the bigger room for the Thursday night trivia. I love that they have a Jazz night, fish fry and shrimp Friday specials, a Billy Joel tribute night, a $16 Easter Buffet in 10 days( sadly I will be in Europe) and so many fun events on the calendar. ( photos). The restaurant is immaculate and bright. There is lots of parking up front. They cater and they deliver. They open daily at 9 am except for Mondays( closed). I am here for a racquetball tournament about 3 miles north and will absolutely bring the guys for the undisputed best meal of their trip. I had never been to First Watch before, but I expected a wait. I checked in and was quoted 25 minutes for a party of four. After 30 minutes, I checked in again and was told I was second in line. A few more minutes went by, so I asked again, and now I was fifth in line. I was confused, and they explained that people checking in online could jump ahead of me. They also said they were unable to accurately quote a wait time, and that it could end up being much longer. I know many other places use a hybrid check-in system, and I've never experienced an issue like this. I understand when things simply take longer than expected, but tables were being turned over and people were being seated. I must have just been incredibly unlucky with the timing of people checking in online. After finally being seated about 45 minutes later, we put our order in right away since we were now going to be cutting it close. I'm used to breakfast places being pretty quick, but it took another 45 minutes for our food to arrive. We ended up being 15 minutes late to the movie. I expected the opening credits to still be rolling, so I wasn't too stressed, but we definitely missed the first five minutes or so of the movie. The food was pretty good, but my eggs were over hard when I had ordered them over medium. What disappointed me the most was that nobody seemed to care that the quoted wait time was so far off. There was no apology or acknowledgment. Our waitress was okay, but she avoided our table like the plague while we were waiting for our food, probably because she knew it was taking so long. Empathy and kind words go a long way.

A friend and I visited this restaurant on 06/22/2026 at 9:00am for breakfast. The dining area was not busy with just 3-4 tables occupied and a few people at the barstools. I was seated quickly by a hostess and given two menus while waiting for my friend to arrive. Menu: it's about the size of a Sears Catalog (exaggeration but about 8+ pages front and back) and appears to serve food approved by the United Nations (food from different parts of the world). This is the type of menu Gordon Ramsey would go crazy over and shred to pieces. Portions are not larger than before but prices increased considerably! Food: I ordered a Veggie Omelette with Spinach added and Whole Wheat Toast, decaf coffee, and water. My friend ordered an all-meat skillet, sourdough toast, coffee, and water. The omelette/skillet was overcooked and dry. My friend sent back his toast because it was served with a MOLD SPOT on it. Our server was not swayed by the mold and replaced it. No apologies or contact from the managers. By this point, we just didn't want to finish what we ordered and left. Dining room is well lit and spacious. Lots of available seating but could not help that their "Grand Opening" sign has been hanging outside for WEEKS. Servers are slow and never seem to be pleasant (more melancholy). Overheard one server speaking with some guests at a table using profanity. This review was based on my individual experience. This used to be our favorite breakfast spot but clearly is no longer the case. Having watched the gradual decline in quality and service, I am no longer inspired to spend my money at AZ Diner.

We would have sat outside which is a very pleasant area but it was too windy. This area eventually could be even better if enhanced with the wall fountain functioning, and maybe even a central cooling fountain added as well, along with plantings like cypress and dwarf palms to add to the ambiance. This place has the potential for being THE go-to oasis in Sun City and I can envision it being a regular spot to meet up with friends over cool minty drinks with or without a meal. What puts it above many outdoor dining areas around here is that it is set back enough from Bell Road so the traffic sound is not overwhelming and thankfully lacks that annoying "whoosh." May the oasis come to pass!

But once again this morning was extremely disappointing. I ordered chicken fried steak, gravy, biscuit, scrambled eggs and fried potatoes and the only thing worth eating was the eggs. The steak was the thinnest piece of (meat?) I have ever seen and look at the picture where the breading doesn't even stay on the meat (clearly a frozen piece of something). The gravy had clumps of what looked like flour and was tasteless. The biscuit was as hard as a hockey puck and the "fried potatoes" were clearly fried right out of a frozen bag. Come on Haymakers you can try a little harder to give customers something they can stomach. To top it all off I asked the server if there was a manger and she said we don't have one until 11 AM (clearly inmates running the prison with no quality control).
