The lobster roll and fries was a perfect lunch after a long walk around the city. The lobster roll tastes like lobster and wasn't drowning in mayo like so many often are. The chips were hot and fresh. Worth the 10 minute wait. Would happily go back for more. read more

PEI potatoes. That's what PEI is known for, so naturally you got to try fries here. There is no better than this place right here. Granted I haven't tried anywhere else, but based on what I tried here, there is no better. And word travels fast so if you don't get here early (especially if there is a cruise ship docked) you might have to wait a while. I ordered the lobster roll and fries. The fries are super crispy and delicious. Just wonderful. Prices are super reasonable. Lobster roll was good. Yes the fries are amazing but the Apple fries, omg. The Apple fries are out of this world, and they count as fruit so that's a plus. They are sweet, and salty and delicious and come with homemade caramel dip. Yum. Housed in a quaint portable building down on the waterfront, the owner is a motivated, charming and beautiful local woman who traveled the world for years and finally settled back home in Charlottetown (she even sang for a local rock band) . Had a hard time finding them at first since I didn't realize they were located on the floating dock! It's a cute little spot and I can see why everyone raves about the lobster roll - it was nicely flavoured although I prefer chunks of lobster as opposed to shredded. This place is great! It's a cute little place in downtown Charlottetown with a few benches outside if you want to sit and enjoy your food. Had their lobster roll and fries ($11) and it was awesome! Unsanitary, unorganized, not with the 45 minute wait. Had to give it one star to post...would have preferred no stars.

This was the first food stop I made in PEI. The owner was delightful and the food was amazing, especially the gluten-free apple fries. The fish was good too, but I can't stop thinking about those fries! They are so magical that we shared them with some tourists that were skeptical about buying them. The portion was so large, that we split them between the four of us. They taste like churros. Seriously, go get some. This meal was way more carbs than I'm used to, but it was I delicious way to splurge. read more

Rating based on service as we never got our food. Gave us the wrong order and said they'll fix it. We waited and waited. After 20+ mins, we checked and our order wasn't even on their radar and they tried to give us the original (aka wrong) order again. You know it's bad when the line chimes in to back you up. Yesterday we came here to get some food, and a rain storm with hail rolled in on us while we were waiting for our order. We took shelter at Boathouse brews (thx Maggie!), until it somewhat passed. Diane, Lauren, and Summer were great! They packed up our food quickly and walked out in the rain to where we were and delivered our order and even brought us utensils and ketchup, etc, to go!! If you're looking for a fantastic lobster roll and the best house cut fries, then you have to go to the Chip Shack at Peakes Quay Marina. Its a red shack, floating on floats with picnic tables. The food and staff are fantastic. And the prices are excellent. Lobster Roll and fries for $13 tax included. For dessert, have the apple fries. Gluto free fish and chips are excellent too. Yes, yes, yes. The lobster poutine was perfection. The gravy was exactly the right kind of salty, the proper ratio of cheese curds and fries done how fries should be. So much lobster on top that was equally flavoured to perfection. The apple fries are pure genius. Why I have never seen these on a menu before? Looks like a fry, tastes like apple pie. Covered in cinnamon and sugar with a caramel dipping sauce. We will be trying to recreate these at home, 3 provinces away. read more

I are here because of all the hype about best fries, yes they were good but not worth the wait. When everything is about the fries and the way the menu is set, the most you should be waiting for an order of fries is 10 minutes even if they have to cut them. The fish in the fish n chips is a tiny piece. When I asked her what type of flour she used, she said it's her recipe. I was asking because I can't tolerate some gluten free flours like buckwheat and oats. She didn't want to speak to us. She was not having a good day nor was she helpful. You get a lot of fries. The place is a shack and not as gluten free as I thought it would be. I was told by the owner it's All gluten free. When I got there, I saw hot dog buns in he same area and other food with gluten. The owner also said to me on the phone...you are celiac? My whole family is celiac -- and implied she understood what Celiac required and that she had a kitchen that was gluten free too. She lied. Just to get us over there. Very disappointing. NOT recommending for Celiac or gluten free food. read more

This place is a must visit! The food is amazing and the owner is wonderful and really cares about her customers leaving happy and fulfilled. She has passion for her food. We thoroughly enjoyed her gluten-free fish and chips, and the apples fries too! Loved every bite! We ended up eating both lunch AND dinner here today, because we are leaving PEI tomorrow....we just couldn't resist! It is such a rare treat to enjoy fish & chips as a person who can't eat gluten.
