This review is for the super-tony bar and lounge at The Chloe. I was taken at first glance, driving by on St. Charles, where one can see the mansion all lit up and beckoning people to its patio and parlour. Sadly it was raining and cold so we couldn't enjoy the outdoor space but that's OK because it's positively cozy in the lobby bar and lounges. We sat at the bar because the lounges were taken and they were expecting an event shortly after our arrival. They have a modest HH and if you're looking for classics like an Old Fashioned, Negroni, Lemon Drop or Margarita, you can't go wrong at $7 a pop. We had Spritzes on the brain and while they have the standard Aperol Spritz, their own twist, the Audubon Spritz features Peychaud's and Fernet. It's extremely good! Their food menu isn't very vegan-friendly but I want to check and see if the artichoke farro can be veganized. Sounds amazing. I look forward to returning and taking advantage of their day passes for the pool! read more

The Chloe has always been my go-to place uptown for dinner, business lunches, or girls happy hours but I haven't been super happy with my last few experiences there. Last month the service was so surly that my friend (who is a waitress elsewhere uptown) complained incessantly (our waitress refused to split checks even though that is an option in the system they use there, as it is in pretty much every other restaurant system). There have been changes to the menu too since it's opened that I'm not crazy about. There used to be more sandwiches on the menu that would offer more "middle of the road" options for entrees but now there's just a hamburger and a number of pricey (and heavy) options like steak or lamb shoulder that I am not interested in having for a business lunch. The gumbo I had last time there had chicken it in that was so rubbery that it was practically inedible. I still love the ambience but I wish they would make some changes to the menu that reflects more of what they used to have on it. read more

I really enjoyed my stay at the Chloe. The small hotel lends itself to personal service and comfort. The location is great. I jumped on the streetcar in front to head to the French Quarter. Breakfast every morning is sent to your room, a record player with albums of your choice and the lovely bar at night are just some highlights. There is no way to reach the front desk from your room, and I had some small room glitches. I wished someone would have checked in on how my stay as going, as I was a solo traveler. Weather sucked for me, but the pool is gorgeous. Great bar food, upscale but not pretentious. Fun scene in the evening. I will return! read more

I went there New years with a group. Notice all there doors were open an it was 31 degree outside a windy. First I notice the front room was rented out that had all the setting!! Then there was only 2 sets in another area. Odd because I looked at there list and there had to be 80 people names paying $125.00 . The bar had vary little seating also. The bad took up most of the space anyway. But they had no place for any people in the first place. Then the food they had was like what you eat at the Park Yep . Rice with pepperoni and deviled egg. Bread and wine . You have to be kidding me. At this point I told them this was very unexceptionable an I had had enough of this place much less being cold. Others people felt the same. This is one of the most unique restaurants in the city. The setting is in a little house. There are serveral themed rooms as you walk through the house. There is a beautiful outside area by the room that you can dine at and its the perfect romantic vibe. I came here for a brunch towards the end of the Summer and we had the sweetest waiter. He was so accomadating and attentive. I had the chloe shrimp salad, the dumplings, goat cheese and olive oil, the chicken katsu sandwich, and the ice cream sandwich. I thought the goat cheese and olive oil was amazing! I should have ordered 2 or 3 of those. I totally enjoyed the dumplings as well. And would like to order 100 of those ice cream cookies, that cinnamon thin crispy crunch with that creamy vanilla ice cream was one of the best desserts I have ever eaten. I am still thinking of that cookie sandwich months later. I highly recommend the Chloe for a girls brunch or a romantic date. The Chloe was once a great place I enjoyed visiting but tonight I was sadly disappointed. Meet up with a few old friends, my lady and I ordered one glass of Brut champagne that was on the menu for either $12 or $14 a glass. I asked the bartender if they had a non-alcoholic ginger beer and he said yes. We received our two drinks. After spending some time with our friends, I approached the bar to cash out my bill. I reminded the bartender of my name and the two drinks that we ordered. I received a tab of $42 and when I asked the bartender on more than one occasion if he was sure this was the right Bill he said yes. Not wanting to create a scene. I paid the bill, even included a tip and left the establishment. Maybe it's just me and I don't get out the house that often but this seemed a bit much and very pricey for the two drinks that we ordered. I did not appreciate the attitude that I received the bartender and the Chloe unfortunately will never see my business again. read more

Absolutely love grabbing drinks and bites at The Chloe, a boutique Hotel in a 19th-century Uptown Mansion. There's a back patio by the pool, a front porch area, and plenty of cozy spots inside to sip your a tasty beverage and catch up with friends. The host and bartenders were all super friendly and polite, making us feel right at home. This is a very charming 1893 mansion converted to a hotel and restaurant. The interior is quite nostalgic. I ordered a house Chardonnay and paid nearly $20 including tax and a $1 tip! When I asked the bartender what the happy hour price was staring at 3pm, he said $7, or $10 lower. I looked at the time and it was 2:55pm, but he still charged the full price! That could have been a win for him and The Chloe since our foursome would have bought all our drinks here instead of going nextdoor to the New Orleans Hamburger & Seafood for all our drinks that were priced better. We did eat here for dinner, but learned they had a very limited menu for Mardi Gras that was not mentioned online. Our friend is gluten and dairy free so we ordered the lettuce-wrapped smoked pork belly that was crispy and delicious, and the charred broccoli cauliflower salad for appetizers. For dinner, I ordered the redfish with a side of red beans & rice. The fish was topped with a crawfish or shrimp cream sauce. The serving size was a small lunch-sized portion and there was so little sauce that I couldn't taste it! Friends said the burger and hanger steak were tender and delicious. Is The Chloe a hotel or an event space? Because it's clear they don't know -- and that identity crisis comes at the cost of their hotel guests. My daughter and I toured The Chloe at the end of October 2024 and reserved three rooms on November 9, 2024, for her wedding weekend: * Suite 1 (first floor) * Suite 3 (second floor) * One double room (third floor) We booked these rooms seven months in advance for May 30-June 2, 2025. Suite 1, the largest and most accessible, was secured as the bridal suite -- chosen for its natural light, size, and easy access for the bride and bridal party. Then on April 21, 2025, we were informed by Stefan, the new hotel manager, that a last-minute wedding had "bought out The Chloe" and he recommended moving us from Suite 1 to the third floor for Saturday night -- because "the noise is going to be a lot." We declined. We had reserved Suite 1 for a reason, and we expected our reservation to be honored -- not downgraded. From there, conversations with hotel staff (Stefan and George) were unproductive, so I reached out to Robert LeBlanc, the owner. Unfortunately, it became clear that money -- not guest loyalty or prior planning -- is what drives decisions here. Despite our three-room, multi-night reservation, we were sidelined. On Saturday, May 31, from 2pm to 11pm, we lost access to every amenity on-site: * Pool * Front courtyard * Bar * Lobby * Back patio The wedding had taken over everything, and we -- long-standing, paying guests -- were treated like an afterthought. Let me be clear: you do not "buy out" a hotel unless you book all the rooms. Having three hotel guests essentially evicted from all common spaces and pushed aside in favor of a last-minute event is unacceptable. Yes, The Chloe tried to smooth it over by comping some poolside burgers and Cava. But that didn't undo the fact that we were paying full price for a hotel room we couldn't enjoy, in an environment so loud and unpleasant we left the premises entirely Saturday night. Suite 1 -- the bridal suite -- became a smoking porch for wedding guests, and enormous speakers were placed on the front porch, directly outside our door. So again, I ask: Are you a hotel or an event space? If you're a hotel, prioritize your guests. If you're an event venue, stop taking overnight reservations you clearly can't honor with dignity or respect. Our family had warm memories of The Chloe until May 31, 2025. Now all we're left with is disappointment -- and the sense that loyalty, planning, and fairness are meaningless when someone else's wallet opens wider. read more

I enjoyed the set menu for restaurant week. It wasn't my favorite, honestly, but it certainly had me trying new foods and new flavor combinations that I had never even considered. It was more interesting than delicious to me. The ice cream sandwich is famous for a reason though. Amazing lunch! One of the best twin stacked cheese burgers in NOLA. Fries were perfect. Delicious seared tuna over salad. But the real star of the meal was an app with goat cheese, honey, garlic & chilis that has sizzling hot olive oil poured over it table-side by the waitstaff. Served with toasted forcaccia. I would go for that app alone. Service was excellent but a little over familiar (lots of darling, honey, etc.) that was both charming and annoying. Looking for a daytime activity on an incredibly hot day in NOLA? Hit up The Chloe's pool bar. We visited for the day and did not regret our choice. Drink options at the bar are great and the pool was super relaxing. I only have two complaints. One is that only hotel guests were allowed to use the pool lounge chairs- which means if you're just coming to use the pool for the day on a pool pass you're either fighting for space on metal bistro tables or laying on a small patch of grass. The other is that the bar was incredibly slow- even when you're just ordering a beer or a pre-made frozen drink. read more

This restaurant is so chill that it can easily be mistaken for a house. The house dates back to1891 and has a chill victorian vibe to it. It is dimly lit. They have a very nice patio out front and there is also seating available on the porch. You will find a full bar near the back of the place with seating, a lounge area and small rooms with dining room seating. Yes, the place is a bit pricey, but in my opinion it is well worth it. The Chloe is also a 14-room hotel, but I did not experience that part of it. The staff here is first class. Some of the friendliest you will find. The menu is compact, but has steak, burgers, duck and fish. I got the Charred Broccoli & Cauliflower and the Twin Stack Burger with fries. It was delicious and fresh. My meal was not only pleasing to the eyes, but it was pleasing to the stomach. I finished my meal off with an ice cream sandwich, and man o man, it was as awesome as my meal. The cookie had a pleasantly surprising flavor. It tasted like a praline. The ice cream was cold and fresh. This is a good date night/anniversary spot, but you can also make it work with kids. There are many indoor and outdoor seating options available and the staff is amazing. They are friendly, helpful, and courteous. I highly recommend checking this place out. read more

The Chloe should be on your brunch list!! I had an amazing dining experience here. It's located in a residential area, so walking in is very homey and welcoming. The decor is cute and it makes you feel somewhat fancy lol. My friend and I really enjoyed ourselves. Now, for the details! Drinks: of course, I ordered a lemon drop! It was slightly strong, but delicious nonetheless. Highly recommend. My friend had never had a lemon drop before our brunch date, and needless to say, she is now a fan also. Food: I WANTED TO GIVE 5 STARS SOOOOO BADLY, but I just couldn't, because the portions are entirely too small for my liking. The actual food was really good, though! We started with the shrimp dumplings because I'd seen so many Yelpers rave about them. Superb! A nice blend of flavor. For an entree, I had shrimp and grits. It was reallllllllyyy good! It lacked nothing at all except-- more lol. It was barely enough to share with my friend. She ordered the chicken with French toast. My first meal here definitely won't be my last! Between our table we ordered a handful of different dishes. Every one was delicious, none missed the mark. The angelotti was so flavorful and rich. The beet salad had the perfect balance of flavors. The pork belly lettuce cups were delicious, and the pork was not too fatty or chewy. The fish was hearty and the sauce was incredible. The burger was just greasy and over the top without being fast-food like. The root vegetables still had texture and were seasoned very well. The sweet potato crème brûlée was more like a sweet potato than crème brûlée but was very unique. The ice cream sandwich had a delicious and crispy cookie and classic ice cream. There's no better way to cool off than to go to the pool in 90+ degree Louisiana weather! I came across an article highlighting hotel pools where local New Orleanians can swim (for a fee). The Chloe was listed as a swanky, backyard tropical oasis and it was ALL THAT! First of all the hotel is absolutely gorgeous, however this review is specifically for the Resturant and pool area. We sat poolside and ordered the shrimp etouffee dumplings(A MUST TRY), chicken and french toast, steak and truffle frites, and an unlimited rounds of Prosecco and Frosé. Everything was flavorful and the presentations were on point! After eating we took our drinks to the pool and relaxed for another hour. I will also note that the staff members we encountered were attentive, helpful, and friendly. Pros: Unique pool setting with real European vibes that you cannot find anywhere else in New Orleans. There's also a full bar in the pool area and cute straw hats for sale ($50 each). Cons: You will have to reserve your lounge chair or table at 8am for same day reservation only. There are only 4 "non hotel guests" spots available. Not sure how things were before social distancing, make sure to call beforehand. read more
