    Cajun Riblets
    A G.

My wife and kids enjoyed the Hot Cheeto corn. I had the Cajun riblets which were really good, they reminded me of the corn you get from the cajun crab type places. They were setup in Granada Hills.

What a hidden gem! I visited this spot recently and was blown away by both the food and the service. From the moment we get to the order window, we were greeted warmly and quickly handed our food. I ordered Cajun elote ribs and it was absolutely delicious. You can tell everything is made with fresh ingredients and a lot of care. The the sauce and a the juice of limon stood out the most -- I'd come back just for that! The staff was attentive without being overbearing, and our food came out the grilled quick. Definitely a spot I'll be returning to, and one I highly recommend to anyone in the area. Don't sleep on this place!

This place definitely isn't it, we got robbed, serving size is tiny for 11.50. It shows 10.50 but they charge you to use card.

From the adorable decorations to the delicious homemade-style beans, something about this place reminded me of my grandmother and instantly brought me so much joy. I ordered a mix of cheese and chicken enchiladas, and WOW the chicken was cooked perfectly and everything was delicious! My friend ordered the chilaquiles with verde sauce and asada. The meat was great, although personally I wish the verde sauce had a little more spice. She also ordered the Café de Olla and let me try it... SOOOO GOOD!!! I already know I'm ordering my own next time! I also had the chance to meet the owner, and he was incredibly attentive to both his customers and employees, which I loved seeing. Overall, XOCHIPILLI is such a cute little hidden nook with delicious food, great drinks, welcoming service, and affordable prices. I seriously can't wait to go back just writing this review has my mouth watering!

She had a nasty attitude and no smiles at all. I asked if they sold sopes I asked where on the meñu was it? So I can look at my options. The server told me it wasn't on the Meñu. In my head I'm like "how do you not have it on the meñu but yet sell it ?" I didn't make it a big deal but for some reason she seemed annoyed. I also asked one of the other servers if they can bring a lemonade for my daughter, she had said yes she can do that. But.. We got our food 35 mins later (keep in mind it was one plate) we were waiting on. & we still hadn't gotten our lemonade I had asked for. The cook brought us our plate & he was nice and asked if we needed anything else. I said " I asked one of the servers for a lemonade and it still hasn't been brought." & he mentioned he would let them know. Then the server comes back with an attitude and places it on the table, not even a word said. I even thanked her multiple times and nothing was said, no "you're welcome" or anything. She never even checked up on us or asked if we needed anything else. If you can't handle being a server why even work as one? Simple as that. This is what ruins a restaurant's reputation and makes people not want to go back. No tip was deserved.

We waited about 45 minutes for a table, which honestly wasn't a problem at all. They're located in a plaza with parking, and there's also plenty of street parking nearby. First, let's talk about the Café de Olla. We ordered two, and WOW. It's their signature coffee, brewed with cinnamon, raw Mexican brown sugar, and spices. We normally drink our coffee black, but this was easily one of the best coffees I've ever had. Seriously, do not skip the coffee here! For breakfast, we ordered two dishes and shared everything. We had the Breakfast Skillet, loaded with country potatoes, eggs, bell peppers, mozzarella, fresh avocado, and ranchero sauce. We also ordered the Chilaquiles à la Bandera -- crispy tortilla chips with half tossed in their green salsa and the other half in red salsa, topped with mozzarella, Mexican cream, Cotija cheese, and eggs. Both dishes were absolutely delicious. And because we needed something sweet, we added the Crunchy French Toast Sticks, drizzled with caramel and Lechera. SO GOOD and the perfect sweet addition to our breakfast. I'll let the pictures speak for themselves! The service deserves its own mention. Our server, Liliana, was an absolute doll! She was so sweet, attentive, and genuinely helpful. She helped us decide what to order based on her own favorites and recommendations, and everything she suggested was spot on. Our Café de Olla came out within probably a minute of ordering, and once we placed our food order, I don't think we waited more than five minutes. Considering how packed the restaurant was, we were seriously impressed. Liliana definitely made our first visit even better! Everything was perfect -- the food, the coffee, and especially the service. Definitely recommend Mex Cocina Cafe for breakfast or brunch. We will 100% be back. In fact, we already can't wait to come back and try more of the menu!

A few minutes later (After my wife got her plate), a worker (maybe the manager?) asked what were you waiting for ? (I didn't complain) I told him , and about 5 mins later my plate came. I never saw him again. As for the tortilla chips - maybe that is their style . Big portions, I ate about half my plate. Service was above average overall. Not great. Maybe they were short staffed- idk. Didn't bother me. Parking in the lot and street. Don't think there will be a big issue.

We had family in town and needed a last minute reservation on a Sunday for 12 people. The qualifications: AC and delicious food. Each of these items were delicious, but I'd return for the ceviche and chilaquiles. The ceviche was a delicious mix of sweet and salty. Their tortilla chips are made fresh in-house and paired perfectly with the fresh cut fish. I was also impressed by their cocktails. With family in town, we visited a number of fan-favorite restaurants across the coastline. Panxa stole the show for best mixed drink: the watermelon margarita. We went during an off time so peak times I would expect a wait. We really blew our diets but it was worth it. We shared a small order of fries topped with chorizo, chipotle mayo, crumbled cheese, and raw jalapeno. It was soooo good and the small order was perfect for two without ruining your appetite. For my entree I had the Navajo taco which was a giant fry bread topped with red chile beef, beans, cheese, tomatoes, lettuce, and chipotle aioli. This was a true masterpiece of flavors. The fry bread was like a savory funnel cake flavor. Crunchy exterior and fluffy cloud like interior. The beef was melt in your mouth tender. My wife had hers with ground beef, potato, and green chile. They had a lot of different protein choices. Should have stopped at this point but they had a pumpkin pie filling stuffed sopapilla. It was made to order so it took awhile and came out steaming hot. It was served with two scoops of ice cream so it's perfect for sharing. It was pure heaven and we devoured it. Service was great but these ladies were doing everything. Taking orders, cleaning tables, packing up orders, putting final touches on foods, washing dishes. It was crazy yet they always kept a smile on their faces through the chaos. My wife and I cannot wait to try more items on the menu! Worth the drive!

However this location was not a nice experience. And with this early evening out experience, it was the first time I have ever pondered that tipping culture may be outdated and obsolete. I have really received better service from Denny's and iHop. When this is supposed to be fine dining I do expect fine service with it too. The food: It was good, but I order the same thing at all locations, the lobster enchiladas. So thumbs up with the consistency at the California locations. I do think the Cabo location has a little extra twist of tasty. Drinks: I don't remember them being this lackluster at locations. The restaurant is so beautiful and has a nice ambiance to it. It makes you feel like you have traveled somewhere outside of downtown L.A. but that is where the magic ends. Our waitress felt very matter of fact with us. She wasn't outgoing and welcoming. I wanted to try something different and was going to ask her for a suggestion, but she really made me feel like she just wanted my order and don't bother her with anything else. When it was time to collect the plates from the table, it was weird. The men helping to clear the table never said anything like excuse me when reaching across us. I am only 5'3 so me being chest to table is pretty normal. One of them came too close for comfort to my chest when reaching across trying to clear the tables. Slow down and pay attention to where you are reaching. At the end of dinner, we never even looked at the dessert menu because at that point we were just ready to go. Upon departure, we had to stand and wait for our vehicles. All 3 of use drove in separate cars. So, we spent almost what we paid for meals in parking. Please Javier group, figure this location out or give it up to a restaurant who is going to deliver food and service as beautiful as the place itself.
