I came into cliffdiver with a friend for the first time today. We were not sure what to expect, but we left with our expectations exceeded and a burning desire to return soon to try more of the delicious food and drinks. We arrived for brunch and were pleasantly surprised that happy hour began at 3pm so we ordered guava margaritas and ceviche. The ceviche was recommended by the nice bartender (I think his name was Mikey?) and it did not disappoint. My friend and I were both in agreement that this was hands down the BEST ceviche we have had, very flavorful and the shrimp tasted fresh. The margaritas were strong but in the best way possible! The service we received from the bartender was fabulous and we felt he went out of his way to ensure my friend and I had a memorable experience. Food: We had the mexican options for lunch, tortilla soup and tacos. Tacos were a bit dry and a bit flavorful. The soup was really good, but portion was a tad sad. The guacamole was very good too, but again the portion was a tad sad. Overall I think the relation between food quantity and price could be better, taco filling could have some more flavor and juice to it. Service and restaurant setting: The restaurant is very beuatiful and the service is very warm and inviting. Food was delivered quickly. All in all I'd give it three stars. read more

Today was our first time trying this place, we absolutely loved the atmosphere and the outdoor patio seating. The only reason for a 4 and not a 5 star is because, the Mahi Mahi tocos definitely lacked in flavor. The mango salsa on them was good but, the fish needed to be better seasoned. My husband liked his burrito I must say the star of the meal was the Esquites this corn goodness was bursting with flavor I could have eaten just that and been happy. We will definitely have to come back and try all the different menu items. read more

We love this place! It feels like a much needed fresh spot on TO Blvd. The vibe is super cool and stylish, but in a very comfortable fun way. Everything we've tried so far has been a home run (tacos, burritos, burrito bowl, chips and guacamole, shrimp) and the prices are very reasonable. The mixed drinks are really good, too, and we're not even big mixed drink drinkers (say that fast!) The staff is friendly and the service is good. At first we didn't need to make reservations, but they seem to be getting busier, so I'd advise doing so on the weekend. read more

Appalling service!!! Stopped by this evening to have dinner. The reviews were great so thought why not? We were seated outside (in the rain) immediately... despite available tables inside . The place was crowded but it's an extremely small space to begin with. We waited about 10-15 minutes for a server. When she finally arrived we ordered two margaritas and chicken nachos to start. Another 10-15 minutes passed without our drinks, appetizer, or water. I noticed another couple was seated about 15 minutes after we arrived. They were served water and chips almost immediately. We continued to wait. The waitress finally made her way back and said the bar was backed up. We asked for water again. 5 minutes later the waitress passed by ... still no water. At this point she takes our order. Another 5 minutes pass by... no drinks, no water, no nachos. HOWEVER, the other couple that was seated after us had appetizers, water AND their drinks!!! Same waitress!!!! What happened to the bar being backed up?! At this point we've wasted about 40 minutes of our evening. Can't believe we stayed that long. It was very clear they didn't want our business so we left. Being the only two brown people in the entire place, it begs the question... are people of color unwelcome at the cliffdiver?? To the owner.... If this wasn't racially motivated then perhaps it's time to properly train your wait staff. In any case, I'll never step foot in this place again and I plan on telling everyone I know about the incident. read more

I went to this restaurant about a month ago with my fiancé. I was super excited to come here. I was expecting a different cuisine due to the name and atmosphere of the restaurant, but I'll never turn down Mexican food. We ordered the nachos. We were about 1/3 of the way through when I started to chew something that didn't taste right. I thought it may have been cheese, so I took it out of my mouth to double check and it was plastic wrap. I've served for 5 years, and I'm always hesitant to complain, however due to the size of the plastic wrap, I complained to my server who was gracious enough to take the nachos off the bill. I would however come back here and sit at the bar next time because they have some pretty cool drinks on the menu. read more

Highly recommend Cliffdiver. Escape the average chain restaurants and head to Cliffdiver. Their food is on point. The chips are excellent, thick, crispy & perfectly salted. The gringo tacos are wonderfully messy with super crunchy shell more like the tortilla chips than a regular taco shell. Excellent. Fries are skinny, super crispy & perfectly seasoned. My hubbie really enjoyed the spicy chicken sandwich. And my favorite, love that they have cake of the day!! I have been needing some good cake & was hoping this could be it. Met 2 high school friends there after not having seen each other for a while. We were not rushed at all and treated by the server and manager fantastically! The ambiance was fine but the food was delicious. I ordered the enchiladas with cheese (yum) and one friend ordered the same but with chicken and the third friend loved her tacos.
