One of our favorite places to eat Breakfast, Brunch or Lunch in Rancho Cucamonga. The Combine Kitchen serves breakfast everyday from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM. This is a small café having both inside dining and patio seating. The ambience of this place is soothing and aesthetic. They have a fairly small menu with a good amount of coffee shop style drink options. We tried their Latte, Dirty Potatoes, Yolk and Shrooms, and Steak And Eggs Toast. The staff was nice, friendly, and cooperative. We ordered food at the counter, and they brought it out to us. We enjoyed the food, but the price was a little bit high considering the portions. I did substitute whole milk for soy milk like I always do for my matcha lattes. Not a fan of how heavy it feels for me if it's whole milk. It was $8 for my drink. The avocado toast was pretty good. All ingredients compliment each other quite well. House-made avocado spread smashed with feta cheese, cilantro, Serrano peppers and lime, served on top of sourdough garlic toast with watermelon radish and pickled onions. After a bout of dejection due to failed plans, my cousin and I were in the mood for a light lunch in a relaxing atmosphere. The Combine Kitchen ended up being the perfect place for us to lighten our mood. The restaurant's interior was clean and very naturally inspired -- lots of light-colored wood, plants, and natural light streaming in. I liked the fact that there were all sorts of seating arrangements. Depending on how large one's party is, diners can choose to sit at the long, stone-colored bar, as a group at tables of four seats, or individually at one of the wall fixtures that acts as a table for one. Unfortunately, there's not an abundance of seating, so I'm not sure that it would be a place that can accommodate a larger party. I could definitely imagine that this might be a good study location, though. I ordered an iced Spanish latte and the wild argula salad. The Spanish latte was one of the best I've ever had -- a true coffee flavor that wasn't overly bitter, complemented by a very prominent honey and cinnamon flavor. The wild arugula salad was fresh and crisp. The sharpness of the bitter arugula flavor mingled well with the acidity of the tomato and red wine vinaigrette, but it was a little bit too sour for me. I would probably order this again, but ask for the dressing on the side. I enjoyed my time here, and will definitely make plans to study here in the future. The avocado toast was good but only half a slice and wasn't fulfilling. The potato bites were good, had a lot of topping seasoning but can't seem to pinpoint the flavor (still tastes like good ole potatoes tho) French toast, I liked it but it wasn't the best I've had. It seems to be lacking vanilla extract. I mainly tasted the cinnamon and little bit of egg. Putting the syrup made it too sweet but still okay. Service was great tho, the staff were nice and prompt. Only problem was, we order a cup of coffee and they never called out our names nor told us it was ready. The coffee sat on the counter top and got a little cold. (Ps the americano didn't taste so good, almost watered down) The banh mi was pretty good. It's pork belly. Has a very porky taste smell to it, hard to explain but it was like delicious yet not? Guess it's a preference thing. If you can't handle the pork smell or taste I don't suggest or recommend it. Very porky. The shop was cool, set up was neat and had a little background on their employee which I thought was different and unique. This time I ordered the kimchi fried rice and it completely lacked flavor. I barely had any kimchi, the rice felt a little undercooked, heavy tomato flavor, and little to no veggies or seasoning. I ended up taking it home and remaking it to taste better. I had my sister try it out cause maybe it was always like this??? But no, she definitely recalls the original recipe and this was not it. My friend also ordered the turkey burger, and it was okay, but again just missing some seasoning. I'd say 7/10 score. I hope they readjust the menu again to enhance their flavors. The egg I added needed salt and pepper, because again tasteless. The pork belly I added somehow tastes old. I can't explain it, it's in the texture. I asked one of them for salt and pepper, and without saying anything, they went to get it and placed on the bar far from me. Very passive aggressive. Came here on a Friday morning for breakfast, and at 9 AM it wasn't crowded at all, which was perfect! There's currently outdoor patio seating open now, so after ordering drinks and food inside, you can go out to their patio area and sit down at one of their numerous tables. There's plenty of space and the tables have a good distance between them, which is perfect for these COVID times. Yolk and Shrooms: Mushrooms on top of sourdough garlic bread, drenched in cheese sauce. Delicious! The mushrooms were perfectly cooked and had so much flavor, and the sauce reminds me more of cream of mushroom soup than cheese, but I loved it! My only minor complaints are that the bread could use more garlic flavor and that the portion is pretty small. I wasn't anywhere near full after finishing my dish, haha. Angel City French Toast: My fiance and my friend both got this dish. I tried a bit of it, and it was decent, but as someone who doesn't really like French toast to begin with, I don't have much to say about it, lol. Both of them loved it, though! And the presentation is definitely IG-worthy haha. I believe it was the same price as my mushroom toast ($10.50), so out of the two dishes, this was a much better deal and probably more filling too. Momosa: Their version of a mimosa, with orange juice + champagne, with strawberries and blueberries mixed in. Personally, I don't like the taste of alcohol, so this was perfect for me, lol. I've tried mimosas from at least 4-5 different breakfast places and this place is definitely lighter on the champagne than most other places. Which is great for me, but for someone who likes the taste of alcohol/champagne, it might not be as satisfying. Overall, we all had a pretty great experience here. Once it was our turn, we gave the name for our order and though there seemed to be some complications on their end, we had our food in hand in just a few minutes. The first thing I noticed when I unboxed my food at home was the generous portions. Unfortunately, I didn't care for the food all that much. The Kimchi Fried Rice used long grain rice which resulted in the dish being quiet dried out. It was also a bit plain, so I added some soy sauce and chili oil. The Dirty Potatoes were slightly better, but still lacked flavor in my opinion. I walked in to no greeting and although there was only one person in line ordering and one waiting I was not acknowledged at all. After standing there for a good 3-4 minutes while one girl made drinks while discussing her nails with another I finally asked if they had a coffee for pickup in which she asked my name and another girl poured the coffee (drip might I add). Every time I get coffee from here with steamed milk it's a carefully poured design and she haphazardly poured my milk in and handed me my coffee without a thank you. The other young lady did point out the lids and was kind but I feel as if the service can use some work. A simple hello goes a long way when someone is spending money at your establishment. We eat outdoors on the patio. They bring your food to you when it is ready. I went with the breakfast burrito ($12). Served on real plates - not paper - nice touch. And the burrito was delish!!! The patio itself is between buildings - away from the parking lot. No road noise or smells.
