This place is a MUST try!! Prepare to have a wait time, especially later into the night, and I had a bigger group so we waited around an hour. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The chairs and tables are super low but it is definitely a vibe reminding me of sitting for street food in asia.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] All skewers are only $1 and there's so many different variety, from wagyu meat, chicken feet, purple yam, and many other options. They have other options beyond the skewers as well if you want stuff besides just skewers. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I like this concept and it is a good restaurant to chat with friends.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] This is definitely more affordable than Chubby Cattle and I like that you can eat according to how hungry you are! Parking: Located in a pretty decent sized plaza, but does get busy during peak hours

First time trying Chubby Skewers in Rowland Heights. Overall, it was an okay experience. The food was decent and the concept was fun, but [[HIGHLIGHT]]the restaurant was pretty hot inside[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]], and [[HIGHLIGHT]]the seats were very uncomfortable--especially since the tables and seating are quite low.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I'm glad I tried it once, but unfortunately, the overall dining experience wasn't enough to make me want to come back. Hopefully they can improve the ventilation/temperature and seating comfort in the future.

I liked the concept of this place but it's definitely lacking in a few areas that could use improvements. - [[HIGHLIGHT]]Better air conditioning. It was way too hot inside.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] - Dipping sauce. I didn't mind the dry powder stuff but could have used some sesame or soy sauce for dipping - [[HIGHLIGHT]]higher tables. We sat on the low tables and I couldn't get close enough to the table to eat properly.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Lots of meat options though, which is the main saving grace

Delicious as usual! Got to try the oysters on this visit and man they were delicious. Staff is always friendly and nice! [[HIGHLIGHT]]Lively atmosphere for dinner.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Remember to get cucumbers to help with all that protein

[[HIGHLIGHT]]I rly liked the vibe of the restaurant, feels super authentic.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Only note is that it is super hot inside, so be prepared.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]I would have loved it if the AC was higher because the stove was also rly hot so everyone is basically sweating.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] But food wise, everything was rly yummy, the skewers are on the smaller side but for $1 per skewer (with the membership) it is very worth it in my opinion. Service was rly great as well!

[[HIGHLIGHT]]It is very hot inside this restaurant. Ventilation is not great.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I understand that it's a grilling restaurant so there is a lot of heat generated. But I wish something could be done about the heat. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The seating was kind of weird and uncomfortable. You sit very low to the ground.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Basically the chairs are low to the ground which makes sitting to eat slightly uncomfortable. Did not expect that. Food is good though. Plenty of Wagyu skewers to choose from. Also a great assortment of non-beef choices too. I like this place but the heat and low seat is not good.

This Chubby location is like Northern China style skewers. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I would give 4 stars if the AC worked. It was really hot inside.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]I understand that there were a lot of stoves and customers. However every single person as sweating really badly.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Service was ok. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Ambiance was low chairs Chinese style skewers. If you like that, you would like that.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Another Chubby Brand location that's worth visiting in my opinion. The wait times can be quite lengthy so just be prepared. Parking is also very difficult in this complex. However, there is an another parking area behind the business that had many spots. The set up at Chubby Skewers is meant to mimic street food style grilling of your own skewers and to your liking. The self serve area has numerous choices of beef, pork, chicken, vegetables and many more. The seats are very very low just as an FYI and grills can get very hot so be careful during dining. The location is always busy and they are open late til the early morning. Skewers are all $1.20 per! Kitchen items can be ordered via QR code on your phone. It's a unique dining experience. Between us, we did some work with the amount of skewers we ate. The cucumber with house dipping was a great palate cleaner. Staff checks in periodically and does a count on skewers midway during your time. My favorite were all the beef Wagyu and the lamb. Make sure to use the dry seasonings to elevate all the flavors. Chubby Skewers was a good time! ( ^_^)b

My now second favorite restaurant by Chubby Club, Chubby Skewers is a, as the name implies, primarily skewers type of place. It gives off chill vibes eating skewers from a street vendor to me, and the quality of meat is amazing. Like all of their locations, an appealing factor is the wagyu used as meat, and it does not disappoint! There is a massive wait if you go during peak hours, so expect an hour long wait if you go right when it opens up until their late night hours start, but maybe during the week you'll have some grace with entering. I really do love their options for skewers, and with everything priced at $1.50 or $1 if you're a member, it is very much worth it. There's a variety of seafood options as well as meats, with my favorite being the black pepper wagyu skewers. It also cooks the quickest in my opinion which is nice. I'm a big value person, so the rest isn't as worth it, but honestly, eat to your heart's content here. In the end, it's pretty easy to get your moneys worth anyway given the overall experience of cooking with people you enjoy spending time with.

We drove almost an hour to try this place. The first mistake we made was not joining the Yelp waitlist before arriving. I didn't realize there was one available. If we had, we probably would have been seated right away instead of waiting another 1.5 hours after arriving at 9:00 p.m. It was too late to go somewhere else since many restaurants were already closing, so we decided to stay. There was a no-smoking sign outside, but some people still smoked while waiting, so we had to stand elsewhere until our table was ready. The atmosphere just wasn't for me. Once we were seated, I could barely fit in my seat because the tables were packed so closely together and the person behind me took up most of the space. I almost had to sit sideways just to have enough legroom. The floor under our table was also very dirty, with grease and food scraps everywhere. It looked like the area hadn't been cleaned before the next party was seated. The music was extremely loud to the point where everything was vibrating. I had to practically yell just for my partner to hear me. Between the cramped seating, the dirty floor, and the overwhelming noise, I couldn't relax or enjoy the meal. Everything felt greasy so I kept my gloves on the entire time. I felt bad for bringing my partner here and was almost embarrassed to ask if she had enjoyed the experience. $1.20 per skewer seems pretty reasonable to me but not every skewer is worth $1.20. I mainly only grabbed meat but the cost added up very fast. We weren't planning to eat much since it was already late, but the portions were small and I ended up grabbing more than expected because I was still hungry. We ordered oysters too but they were not that great. The only skewer I regretted getting was the chicken wing. They weren't prep'ed very well and took forever to cook due to how thick they were. Very easy to burn them when the inside was still raw. I counted the skewers twice before the waitress did and I didn't get overcharged. I like skewers, but this restaurant was simply too loud, too cramped, and too greasy for my taste. Personally, I wouldn't return.

The first moment you walk in. I thought the service was a bit AWKWARD. I am not sure how to explain it but, it's like they're there but, not there? Anyways, let's go check out the FOOD, I thought to myself... SKEWERS: 10/10 for the Veggies, the fish cake and fish balls... WAGYU: 8/10 Not bad. Just becareful because it cooks really fast!! ALL THE SKEWERS were pretty small. $1.20 each... The tables were VERY LOW! LOW RIDERS!!! I wish we could have some chili oil, ponzu sauce or something liquid. But, I understand that for safety reasons we need to keep it DRY... It's a fun experience to try ONCE!!!! I rather go to the Chubby Cattle or other Chubby groups... CAUTION: There's an automatic gratuity!!!! Not a BAD IDEA CHUBBY SKEWERS!!!!

Chubby Skewers was a unique experience! My husband and I have been wanting to try this one out since it opened. We arrived on a Saturday evening without having a prior reservation. We got there around 8pm and got sat around 9:10pm. There was a wait outside the door already and the plaza was packed. There is parking behind the restaurant. I suggest looking for one there if you can because you could leave through the back. While the wait was longer than we expected and became restless, when we finally sat down and ate, we agreed it was worth it. The tables and seats are at a lower level. It was fine for me because I'm between 5'2 and 5'3, but if you're taller, it may be uncomfortable. If you have a group larger than two, it will be tight. The waiter will explain what areas of the table to be mindful of when you're cooking because they stay hot when the burner is on. There are instructions on the cook time for each protein, veggies, and fruit. All skewers were in the self-serve area. There was also a QR code to order items from the kitchen. Each skewer was priced at $1. There was a promotion for signing up for the Chubby plus membership. I don't remember if it was the first 30 skewers are free or discounted. Please check with the staff. I only have the Chubby Club One membership that applies to Chubby Cattle in Rowland Heights. I learned later that you could still earn points no matter what tier/membership you have. They had a wide array of skewers! We got all their Wagyu options, lamb, okra and veggie kabobs in every round. We also tried their chicken skin, abalone, pineapple, and ordered the cucumber salad from their kitchen. There was self-serve water there too. They had two large dispensers of ice water and one cucumber-infused. After the first round, I found it was easiest to cook all the meats at the same time because they require the same amount before turning over. The Wagyu can burn easily, so keep a close eye on those. Also, the oil will splash a little. You won't be able to sit that far back without bumping into the other party. Again, this was a unique and memorable experience!Similar to having street food in Asia I've heard. So if you're looking for that type of vibe, I would recommend to try this at least once.

I want to say 3-4 Stars. Food: not very many veggie options. Plenty of meet options from beef, pork, chicken heart, duck tongue, etc. You have to cook/grill on your own. There are seasonings on the side that you can use. You do have to pay for the seasonings, and that they dont tell you before hand its charged automatically and the wsit staff will briefly tell you when you pay. They have a QR Code menu that you can scan for other cooked dishes, cold side dishes, and alcoholic/non-alcoholic beverages. The staff are pretty good in terms of bringing you the ordered food timely and also picking up dishes that you are done with. My only concern in this restaurant is the infection control aspect of the seasonings (the different seasonings are placed in a stainless steel like shaker container, located on your table). My family and I went there today.I observed a table across from us that opened the container of seasoning and stuck their used chopsticks inside the seasonings, so that the seasoning can come out faster. I totaly lost my appetite. I'm pretty sure that the seasoning containers are not cleaned out nightly, nor refilled with new seasoning nightly. Ambiance/service All good vibes. The wait staff are super nice, helpful, and quick. [[HIGHLIGHT]]My other riff are the tables and seats. They are set so low its uncomfortable.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I would go back. But i will nit season my meal with the seasonings on the table. Even if im paying for them. Cheers!

Only complaint I would have is that we sat on the left side of the restaurant and there were quite a few mosquitos on the booth so we ended up sitting on one side.

My family and I came over for lunch, and it was loud and crowded on a Sunday at about noon. We…read morechecked in and got a number. It took about ten minutes for us to get a booth table, but we were waiting inside. The staff member called numbers firstly in Cantonese then in English. After we sat down, the waiting line persisted past 1 pm. Similarly, the bustling loudness continued on during the course of our meal. Food arrived quickly, however. The price point for the delicious food is competitive. We got French-style filet mignon ($18.99), braised tofu in brown sauce ($14.99), chicken chow mein ($14.99), and a steamed rice noodle roll with barbecue pork ($5.99). A pot of rice was included in our meal. The steamed rice noodle roll with barbecue pork was a nice appetizer that arrived first. I enjoyed how the French-style filet mignon was garnished with Thai basil, black pepper, and ginger. The meat was flavorful and tender. The braised tofu in brown sauce was consistently hot on the inside. The delicious brown sauce soaked throughout the vegetables. The chicken chow mein didn't have a lot of sauce, but it was still delicious with a lot of meat included. Overall, it would be nice to visit again outside of a peak time because the food prices are competitive. The menu is expansive, and the breakfast selections look interesting. The atmosphere during the Sunday lunch peak time was consistently bustling. I think the restaurant started to play Chinese music loudly at random points so that people could finish dining more quickly.
