    Popcorn chicken with rice
    Jeremy S.

Bobee 5's quick service makes me feel like I entered a pit stop for great Taiwanese food. I got the popcorn chicken with rice ($13) in just five minutes. I arrived here right when they opened at 11 am. One staff member also refilled complementary water. There are plenty of parking and multiple Foothill Transit connections at Colima Rd. and Nogales St. I asked for medium spice, and the popcorn chicken had just the right amount of red pepper for me. The chicken was really tasty with many crispy and juicy bites. I enjoyed the rice with minced pork and wished they had served more. The little side dishes were different from last year. The new ones were a braised egg and vermicelli noodles. This is an improvement from the stir-fried vegetables I had last year. Also, I was able to finish everything on my plate this time. The restaurant was well air-conditioned with loud Chinese pop music playing in the background. There was a sign that said that they require a minimum purchase of $15 when using a credit card. Thankfully, the staff member still let me use a credit card even when my total bill was less than $15. I'm glad that this restaurant is a reliable place to get quick and large Taiwanese dishes.

stinky tofu with taiwanese sausage and pickled cabbage
    Vince H.

Traditional Taiwanese food served with warm service! Returning back to the area, I was craving some authentic Taiwanese food...something that would take me back to the night markets of Taipei. I think this may be that spot. It was clear to me some folks regularly visit this spot, because many patrons walked in, and were greeted with a "your usual?". This warmth in my opinion adds to the authentic Taiwanese flavor and overall ambiance. We went with the stinky tofu w/ Taiwanese sausage, the Dan Dan noodles, and the braised pork belly set with rice, spicy tofu, and vegetables. The stinky tofu and Taiwanese sausage was AMAZING. It's not something I would recommend if you're NOT a fan of this pungent yet delicious food, but if you are a fan like myself, this place does a good job with it! It is good as it comes, but I would recommend adding some extra hot sauce on the pickled cabbage for a bit more kick. The braised pork belly combination won my heart. I mean, it was soaked in a rich broth and paired with bamboo. It was absolutely mouth-watering. The fatty pork belly was true to it's name and absolutely melted in my mouth. The flavors were bold, rich, and perfect with a spoonful of white rice. I know a few people have spoken highly about the Dan Dan noodles, and they weren't bad, but to be honest, not my favorite, subjectively. We will be back!! I truly love this little mom and pop restaurant and I sincerely want to try every single item on the menu to see if it'll transport me back to the humid streets of Taipei.

1/30/25 Beef noodle soup, crispy pork chop and Taiwanese fried fish cake (tempura) are very good here. That's what I ordered for lunch today. If this is your first time and not sure what to order, just order those 3 items.

This is an unassuming little Taiwanese restaurant with a mom-and-pop feel. The menu has a lot of the most popular Taiwanese dishes, as well as bubble tea. We had the dan dan noodles, dry noodles with pork, and wonton noodle soup. It didn't take too long for our food to arrive and it all looked great. The dry noodles were delicious, topped with a gigantic portion of bean sprouts and a small mound of intensely flavored minced pork. It was a smallish portion though and I was still a bit hungry after finishing my bowl. The dan dan noodles were decent and had the requisite spicy sauce but some pickled veggies with the noodles would have been a welcome addition. The wonton noodle soup was served in a large bowl with generous portions of wonton and soft noodles. The broth was delicate, light tasting and reminded me of something my mom used to make back when I was a kid. Service was friendly and the staff speak both Mandarin Chinese and English. The menu is also written in Chinese and English.

Delicious! Their chicken leg and pork chop rice are amazing. But the main reason that we love this restaurant is their dry noodle with bean sprouts. Honestly, their dry noodle just tastes like the one from back home in Taiwan. It's a mom and pop restaurant. Easy to order. And I love swinging by the bakery next door when I wait for my order. You can't go wrong with your orders here! They're fast and efficient as well.

Lunch special combo D : Taiwanese sausage rice. With wintermelon tea and salad

They seem to be under new management? Or at least new wait staff. Last time we were there it was 3 waiters, now it 2 waitresses. Came back for their famous braised beef tendon noodle soup and also go their lunch combo D, sausage rice.

Very Taiwanese restaurant with a very mom-and-pop kind of vibe! I was greeted and seated quickly. They had a promotion going on for their drinks as well. Beef noodle soup: soup base was pretty good! The noodles aren't the traditional noodles you use for beef noodle soup, and they didn't pair very well with it. Typically in beef noodle soup, the beef is pretty tender and soft. Unfortunately, the meats were inconsistent with some being very tender and some chewy and kind of hard. Yam fries: solid fries but a little salty Mix mix: I got this to go for my friend, and they said it was pretty good. Would've been better if it had a bit of a kick to it though. Drinks: the milk tea was so so. Tea favor wasn't very strong and I as a little watered down. The pudding was wayyyy too sweet, so it didn't balance very well

Never ever order Fried Chicken rice combo . It seems like the photo, if you have stainless steel teeth you'll have this.

Their water cups are molded / stained in the inside

This place has always been one of our go to place for Taiwanese food. Food are good & price are fair but I've noticed that their water is not clean (cups are molded).

Dry noodles with shredded chicken $13
    Nancy T.

Food: 2/5 Ordered dry noodles with popcorn chicken. Told them we wanted the popcorn chicken mild, but ended up non-spicy. When asked for chili pepper, they gave us a pinch of chili pepper on the side. lol. The dry noodle is more like a Hong Kong style thick egg noodles that was over cooked and mushy. Dry noodles with shredded chicken was ok. I had better. They could have been a bit more generous with the portion. The container wasn't even half full to charge $13 for it!! Spicy beef noodle wasn't spicy and maybe three to four pieces of beef. Service: 1/5 We asked for three bowls to share our food, they gave us three when they can clearly see there was THREE of us. The place is small and not many tables. What really annoyed me was the waiter rolling eye balls when a family of four entered around 715pm. They had two little ones and didn't want to be seated right behind two rowdy kids who are let loose in the small cafe and obnoxiously loud while the mothers didn't bother to control their kids. When the family asked to sit elsewhere, the waiter rolled his eye balls again. When asking for a high chair, the waiter rolled his eye balls again. It's just really bad to have to witness such bad service even though it wasn't towards me. On top of that, another waiter came out of the bathroom with a bag of trash in his hands, he placed it on the floor (next to the window by the kitchen where they put the cooked food ready to be served) and picked up the tray of food (without washing his hands) and brought the food to the family with the two little ones. I find that very disgusting and unsanitary. I would not come back nor would I recommend this place. It grossed me out.

    Sausage rice
    Mandy W.

Another great mom and pop Taiwanese restaurant in the heart of Rowland Heights. I ordered Taiwanese sausage with rice and fried pork chops with rice. You can never go wrong with these 2 entree when you visit a Taiwanese restaurant. Surprisingly. Both entrees tasted very delicious, I love the gf, broccoli and corn as the side dish. I prefer broccoli over cabbage. Pork chops were fried perfectly and not too greasy. Both entree portions are good and I didn't order too many things because I wanted to try it out first. But I know for sure I will be returning. I have to order the beef noodle soup next!

If I had known that those four small pieces of meat would cost that much, I definitely would not have ordered them. The most upsetting part was that when we tried to ask both the server and the owner about the pricing issue, we were basically ignored. On top of that, we waited about 20 minutes just for takeout packaging, even though the restaurant was not busy at all. Honestly, this will probably be my last time coming here. It offers a generous portion of tender, juicy meat and springy, fresh noodles. "DELICIOUS!!" I arrived at No. 1 Noodle House (Rowland Heights) on Sunday (around 11AM). Parking is easy. The lot is big with many spots. Staff is very friendly and welcoming, but Staff spoke limited English. Fortunately, pointing at the menu was clear enough. The food took eight minutes and nine seconds. Fast time! As mentioned, the Beef Rib Noodle Soup ($16.50 - Mild) is wonderful! It arrived picturesque and delicious!! However, despite ordering "mild," the food has a very strong heat; I sweat nonstop as I ate. The broth is rich, savory, and spicy. The meat is tender, flavorful, and falls off the bone. And the noodles are hefty, soft, and springy. It's a wonderful, euphoric combination of flavors and textures. Concerning ambiance, No. 1 Noodle House (Rowland Heights) is surprisingly spacious with its tall ceiling and relatively clean surroundings. However, its walls and furniture look worn down with time. Some seats even had torn holes. Unfortunately, the music uses radio with constant commercials playing in the background. Fortunately, there's a gender neutral restroom in the back. Overall, I found culinary magic at No. 1 Noodle House (Rowland Heights). The food is fresh, generously portioned, and well-prepared. I left full with a bright smile.
