    Banana pudding

Bro look at the fkn banana pudding, literally nilla wafers with snot on top. Please change the recipe so disappointed. Straight watery pudding with zero flavor too. I have never in my life seen a banana pudding like this . I live 4 mins away too so it got delivered quick. So diabolical it's actually funny

I don't normally crave American BBQ but I've always passed by this location growing up and decided to try it out. Must say I wish I went here earlier. I ordered the breakfast BBQ burrito with brisket and it was very delicious. The BBQ sauce was a bonus and must try and this spot. Dipping that with the burrito was the cherry on top. I sat outside along with my partner and two dogs and the staff were nice enough to provide for us! The woman who served us was incredibly nice and she also gave my dog a water bowl! 10/10 service. Also I recommend eating outside because they have a little fountain with koi fishes in there which was such a nice touch to the ambiance. The food is a bit pricey but fair for the amount of food and time you are getting. Parking here is pretty difficult unless if you found neighborhood parking but I highly recommend you trying this place out.

    Potato salad and baked beans

Decided on BBQ for dinner on 04/23/26 and found this little establishment was "near me" and gave it a try. On the outside it looked nice. there are about 4 or 5 parking spaces which look to be shared with the neighboring nail shop. It was after 6p and i was able to park in the lot. You can enter from the parking lot or from the sidewalk. My absolute first thought after walking in was it didn't smell like bbq. The inside was cute, rustic, wooden seating and lots of retro pics. The cashier was helpful. We wanted mild links but they only had hot links. We opted to try the beef brisket or beef ribs. We asked for a sample to make sure it was tender due to dental concerns. The brisket was lightly smoked, easy to bite and chew. We ordered a dinner meal that includes 3 sides and 2 meats. Our selections were half a chicken, brisket, baked beans, potato salad and cornbread it came to about $38. Our order took about 15 mins. while we waited about 5 customers came in to pick up orders and to order. i was excited that i had found a new dining spot that's close to home. We live about 15 mins away and we were ready to eat when we got home. The presentation and packaging of the food was great. The food looked inviting. Then!!!! we cut the the chicken and it was raw! Not cooked. The internal temperature was less that a safe range to eat. Even after getting the food home the food was still hot but, the chicken was not done. After getting past that initial shock, we placed all the meat in the oven at 350 for 45 mins. The baked beans are actually kidney beans with seasoning. The potato salad did not have eggs and that was really not a big deal , so many people have have allergies. They have an extensive menu and as much as i would like to try other options, I will continue on my search for a bbq spot in the LBC. Stars given for good service ambience and packaging of food.

    2 meat platter

I had been wanting to stop here for quite some time as I pass it all the time and love BBQ. This past Saturday was the day! Within walking distance from our local watering hole, we stopped and dined in. Service was excellent and the gals that were working were very friendly and efficient. This is an order at the counter type of place where you pay; however, the staff gives you a number and they deliver the food to your table. I opted for a sandwich, and they have two types of burgers on their menu (regular and BBQ). I opted for the BBQ which you get your choice of meat (tri-tip, brisket, etc). I opted for the brisket combo which was 15 bucks and comes with one side (I chose sweet potato fries). There was alot of meat piled on and you get a couple of BBQ sauces as well as a hot sauce. The meat was cooked to perfection and very tasty. My friend chose the 2 meat platter with brisket and pork, which came with two sides (he chose mashed and mac n'cheese). It also came with bread and corn bread, all for 36.00, which I thought was pretty pricey. In any case, he enjoyed his meal, but I think I got just as much meat on my sandwich as he did on my plate, so I'd recommend getting a sandwich instead if you are on a budget or just don't feel like spending that amount of money. As for dessert, we opted to take the banana pudding home (8 bucks I believe) & it was a perfect serving for two. It was really good, but not as excellent as some of the BBQ places I have been to in TX. In any case, give this place a try! There is limited indoor dining but we did not have a problem getting a table (seemed to get alot of take out orders). I think there is a small parking lot, but I honestly don't remember as we were on foot. The area is also not the greatest and upon walking home it was getting dark and some sketchy peeps in the area so beware of your surroundings.

This is a Barbecue Joint technically not really soul Food although it is good they serve tasty collard Greens the service leaves something to be desired but food wise it's ok didn't care too much for the brisket a bit dry for my taste rib tips hmmm overly burnt but hey some ppl like it that way

Great little BBQ spot in LBC, was looking for a place that had Dino beef ribs, they have it, not the best I've had, but it will do since it's hard to get them. Lots of different sides that were good. Our waitress was cute, friendly and attentive to us. Will definitely go back.

What was left of my plate smh

Long Beach Native and I'm always looking forward to exploring a hometown spot. This was my first time at the corner and I am sad to say the experience fell short. The staff were amazing! The parking was nonexistent but that was to be expected. The ambiance was nice as far as BBQ spots go. So how did it taste? Peach Lemonade - 4 out of 5 Passion Fruit Lemonade- 4 out of 5 Baked Beans - 3 out of 5 (BUSY) Had a lot of onions, crunch and other items not expected in baked beans. Greens - 3 out of 5 (outside of the lemonade this was the best thing on the plate.) Brisket - 3 out of 5 (it was dry and room temperature. More importantly it had a smoke ring but lacked flavor. No pepper crust or rich smoke flavors. Beef Ribs - (these were recommended as the popular item) 2 out of 5. TOUGH (I had to use a fork and knife and got tired so I only ate half of one), layered in BBQ Sauce to mask the lack of flavor. A real gut check here I was super disappointed. Extensive menu. Maybe too extensive though I was excited to see Hot Water Cornbread, Yams and other items listed. Plus the free refills didn't hurt. The problem was that it's didn't smell like BBQ, it didn't taste like BBQ. I truly wish them the best

3rd time I've ordered from this place and they never disappoint!! Some of the best BBQ I've had and I even lived in Texas for 3 years! Coleslaw and fries were so fresh, brisket was perfection and the bbq sauce was the cherry on top! Always great portions and packaging too!

    BBQ Smoked Meat Burger|Grilled Chicken|Macaroni & Cheese
    Jacob C.

I used the BOGO deal on DoorDash and ordered two BBQ Smoked Meat Burgers, one with brisket and the other with grilled chicken. Both were very delicious and the fries were dense. They were a perfect addition for the burgers. The brisket was tasty and the sauce was sweet & tangy. I also enjoyed the chicken, house-made pickles, and macaroni & cheese.

I've ordered from this place on Uber eats countless times, it was time for me to finally come in and have their delicious food in person The parking is a little difficult. I would just recommend finding street parking vs using their tiny parking lot. Which, you could get boxed in and have to wait for that person to leave. By their side entrance you can see the smoker and you can smell how delicious the bbq is The atmosphere is cute. It looks like your standard BBQ place. It has cute signs all over the walls You go up to the counter and order. It did take us a while since there was a ton of different options. All their sides are delicious. So the southern in me had to order a bunch of sides. I highly recommend their dirty rice Once we were done ordering we picked out a place to sit. Another worker brought out our drinks. All the workers were extremely nice. The girl behind the counter came over and even asked if we wanted a refill (we ordered fountain drinks) they also have a bunch of different tea, milk teas coffee and lattes on the menu I ordered the burger, it's delicious. It's usually my go to on Uber eats. We actually had to keep going back up to the counter to order more food. We went back up to get an order of cornbread and a couple extra sides to try This place is locally owned and operated and they have a pretty large catering menu. So next time you're having a craving for some BBQ, come support a locally owned restaurant

    BRISKET EMPANADA
    Charlize V.

The 2- and 3-meat dinners come with plenty. We enjoyed the brisket, ribs, chicken, and all the sides - hot water cornbread, collard greens, potato salad, and mac & cheese. The platters already come with bread as well. The brisket empanada and sauce were great.

Found this hidden gem. Enjoyed their food! You have to see and taste for your self. Service was good. It's a very chill place and I would recommend this place!

Brisket, Cajun fries, potato salad, and mac n cheese.

This place is great for meet-ups and groups that want to settle their own tab because you order first, pay, then are seated. (They help you find seating!) Parking: 7/10. This is a residential neighborhood and from what I saw, there was no parking lot so we had to find street parking. Facility: 9/10. The place isn't huge but it has indoor and outdoor seating. Flies may be an issue but I always bring eucalyptus spray to ward them away. The place was busy but they did a good job keeping it clean. Bathroom was clean! Food: Beef Bulgogi breakfast burrito: 9/10: I love breakfast burritos (I don't eat pork) but I hate fatty meat but was told it wasn't too fatty and it wasn't too bad. Very tasty and the pico was fresh and a perfect addition. I loved the crispiness of the tots inside and the flavors meshed well together. I would get this again! Side of turkey bacon! 10/10! For those that don't eat pork, this was a win. We didn't see it on the menu but I asked and they said they have it! Yaay!!! Croissant French toast: 8/10: this wasn't really traditional French toast (wasn't cooked in eggs). It was a croissant dipped in coconut milk with fresh fruit and whipped cream. I'm not a fan of the coconut taste so it wasn't my favorite but hubby seemed to like it. Drinks: Iced blueberry matcha xtra sweet & xtra blueberry flavor w/almond milk: 10/10. This was good and I'd get it again. They made it JUST how I requested it! Iced strawberry matcha w/almond milk: 10/10: This was good! Both matchas didn't have that dirt/earthy taste so they were both winners. Service: 10/10. Absolutely no issues from the order/service counter to the cute lady that bussed our dishes. Everyone was really nice. We will be back!

I recognize I only saw part of the interaction, so I don't know everything that led up to it. However, from what I witnessed, it was uncomfortable to watch an employee being lectured publicly. The interaction continued with repeated calls for her to "smile" in front of customers, which only made the situation more awkward for everyone nearby. Sadly, this isn't the first time I've observed this type of behavior. One of the reasons I continue to come back is because the staff--from Mary to the newer members of the team--are consistently friendly, hardworking, and provide excellent service. They deserve to be treated with the same respect they show their customers. The food and service were excellent, but watching an employee be publicly reprimanded put a damper on what otherwise would have been a great breakfast. The only reason I'm not giving this restaurant 5 stars is because of the owner's behavior. We had made plans to hang out on a Monday and found that most of the restaurants we had been dying to go to were closed, so I turned to social media to find a cute spot for a girl dinner date...they even have a "girl dinner" special! While we didn't opt for that combo this time, everything we got was utter perfection. To start, we were greeted warmly by Alanna (I'm probably butchering the spelling; sorry, girl!) and invited in, and because The Attic occupies a cute old home on the corner it really felt like being welcomed in by a friend. She was exceptional, and was so excited when we mentioned Martini Mondays and kindly explained some of the menu for us and pointed at her favorites as we were visiting for the first time and love getting recs from those in the know! Best dirty vodka olive martini I've had since visiting Commander's Palace in NOLA; if you know, you know... the cornbread with honey butter was a phenomenal choice. We also raved over the wedge salad which had this curry crumble that honestly paired so well with the blue cheese and bacon, absolutely lovely take on an old classic while still being familiar and comforting. The lemon pasta dish (I don't recall the exact name) was perfect for a hot summer evening, it felt refreshing but also filling, probably one of the best pastas I've eaten this year in southern California. Thanks to Alanna we had the best time here, but everyone was so friendly and on top of their game! We will absolutely be back, and I look forward to trying some of their other specials and seasonal menu changes! ETA: I forgot about the beignets! So, these were not my favorite because I like a big, pillowy beignets and these reminded me of funnel cake a bit more than an authentic beignet--but honestly if they turned these into funnel fries they would be to die for, especially since the included jam was excellent! Just some constructive crit !

Cool, they can make it. what I got was a cup of coffee in a to go cup (even though I was dining in) with milk and a foam, so really what I got was a flat white. the other coffee ordered was a latte which was pretty standard I ordered the chicken sandwich ($12) which comes on a biscuit and a side of fruit, to round it out I also ordered the yogurt bowl which is yogurt and granola. When the sandwich came out it looked rather disappointing. The biscuit itself is small, probably the size of a Pillsbury dough biscuit, and the chicken wasn't much bigger. nothing else on it like a green, coleslaw, sauce, etc. just these two items. However, it did come with a side of a honey butter. the side of fruit was about 8 pieces split between pineapple, melon, and grapes. the whole sandwich was dry, which can be expected from a biscuit, but this was just too dry for me. the yogurt bowl($8) came in a small bowl that had a large flaring, basically the entire dish was large but the bowl portion was small. I eat yogurt everyday and the amount you get is probably half the size of a standard serving of yogurt (170g) and it was sparsely sprinkled with granola. my partner ordered a chorizo burrito ($15) and while she raved about the flavor the size of it was laughable, especially considering there are plenty of spots in LB that serve double or even triple the size of this burrito at or near the same price lastly, and the most disappointing of all, was the cinnamon roll($8). they were on display at the register and figured yeah I want one of those and instead of giving it to me right then and there it was brought with the rest of the food but it was not warmed up, which made me question why I waited for it. It was rool temp, burnt, and hard. I do want to try other items but the price you pay for what you get, especially considering this experience I had, is off putting.
