Not a bad place just very limited. Limited menu and limited beer list. I can understand one or the other but not both. If you are a bar... have an extensive beer list. If you are a restaurant, expand the menu. I have seen more variety out of food trucks. Again, the food was good just not good enough to overcome the limitations mentioned above. I've never had a bad time at this restaurant. I just freakin love a great hidden neighborhood gem and this is certainly one of them. This could easily be my "Cheers" if I lived in Ayrsley. Why? Because sometimes you just want to go where everybody knows your name! Lol. Every time I have gone they usually have the same bartenders and they're always extremely friendly. The menu is small but the food is amazing. I wouldn't necessarily classified as a tapas restaurant but that's really what it is. A lot of different small to medium plaits that don't really go together but you can try a few things can be happy. They also carry many local beers and the cocktails are are awesome. I love a great mule and there's is fantastic! This time around my wife and I both tried something new. We tried to the beef lettuce wraps. We were both in for a surprise when they came to the table because you have to wrap them yourself. After the initial shock of that it was love at first bite. It was so well seasoned! Stopped by The Corner Bar to meet with a friend. Finding a good place to meet over drinks without raging loud music is challenging in the Arysley/SW CLT area. The Corner Bar is a quaint little spot with character and friendly staff. For such a small place, the menu provides a good variety of drink choices and small (to medium) bites. I had the crab fritters and a sampling of the brussel sprouts. The fritters were okay. They were a little too cakey for my taste. From many reviews, I expected more crab or at least most of a crab flavor. The brussel sprouts were better than the fritters and seem to be a favorite, as I noticed many orders leaving the kitchen. The bacon jam provides an interesting flavor. I would visit again for the atmosphere. It is a great place for business meetings or just winding down after work. We were looking for somewhere to eat dinner in the area and decided to give it a try based on Yelp reviews. The Corner Bar was a great choice! We couldn't decide on just one thing so we went topas style and tried 3 plates. The Gouda waffle fries were covered in creamy Gouda cheese with small pieces of bacon..yum! Crab fritters and chicken bites were also great! Can't wait to try everything else. Saw a burger being served and it looked really good. The servers, Kami and Alan were very personable and attentive. Alan brewed a new batch of tea just for me! I'm the weirdo asking for sweet tea in a bar. We really enjoyed the food and atmosphere and will definitely go back.. Came into the corner bar and the service was excellent my mother and I were greeted right away! I had called earlier to find out when their kitchen closed and they said 10pm. We came in 10 minutes before and they were happy to serve us! I cannot tell you how many restaurants I go to and they are upset that we come in last minute. There were two ladies on duty one with blonde hair and the other was a brunette! They were great to work hard as a team! They worked the room and made sure everyone was okay and taken care of! I am so happy they are literally five minutes from my mom's house I will definitely be back in for a drink or dinner. The food was good. I had the Brussel sprouts, they were good, but a little too sweet for my taste but my mom loved them! I tend to like my Brussels savory. Then I ordered the beef, lettuce wraps and they remind me of beef stroganoff flavor. It was also kind of sweet. But it was good. This is a great place to come relax and get a drink or bite to eat. I had a bad day and needed, not wanted, a drink. Lol. My husband and I came here on a Friday night. I got their cucumber mint mule and we got the pretzel bites and cheese as a starter. The pretzels were more like rolls than a pretzel in taste and texture. I guess it was to help sop up the cheese, but I wouldn't get it again. My husband got the chicken tenders... which we thought would look like strips, but they were more like chicken nuggets with bacon sprinkled on them. They were good though. I got their burger with goat cheese and added bacon. It came with waffle fries. It was really good. The food selection is not extensive here at all. There's 2 burgers and just a few entrees to select from. But it is primarily a bar, after all. It has a great atmosphere and our waitress was fantastic. I seriously tipped her way over 20% for her great attitude and service. There are also picnic tables outside to sit at if the weather is nice. This is a great little corner bar. :) read more

We were traveling through town and spent the night nearby. We looked for a good place to eat and relax over drinks. This place was intriguing to us and we called to make sure that they offered dine in. We were able to secure a reservation. We were cheerfully greatest by the bar tender who remembered that I mentioned a gin and tonic when I called. Alan, the bar tender, was awesome. He makes the place what it is. The menu was limited but interesting. We both had the bbq burger and fries. It was an appealing presentation and a delightful assortment of tastes. Definitely a thumbs up. I was looking for someplace new to try it n the Charlotte area and The Corner Bar menu looked fun!! However, I can't rate the food, because when we arrived and were seated the restaurant was not clean AT ALL. One side of the room looked like an old warehouse where everything was dusty and hadn't been wiped down. When we were seated there was a large (tennis ball sized) ball of hair/dust/debris next to our table, as if the had swept but not thrown away the trash. Is was almost like they had started cleaning and been interrupted before they finished. Once seated, the table was also dirty. There were water circles and crumbs from the previous patrons. We pointed this out to the hostess and she went to get a towel to wipe it down. At this point, we decided that we were uncomfortable continuing with the dining experience and left. Hopefully this was just an off day for them, but I probably won't return to find out. read more

I can't believe I've never reviewed this place. A couple years ago my daughter and I came into town on a late-ish Friday night and found The Corner Bar right down the street from our hotel. They were doing last call for food and we managed to put in a to go order grab a quick drink before the kitchen closed. Everyone was really nice even though the place was completely packed and we were trying to order as they were trying to close up shop in the back. Plus we were feeling rough after a long day and drive from Wilmington and I probably looked like a terrible parent as I chugged a Hendrix on the rocks while my 12 year old stood there looking like she was about to fall asleep. They didn't seem to judge. I'm not even sure what we got the first time but it involved a burger and it was delicious. Our next trip to CLT we booked in Arsley to be close to CB. This time my mom met us and we had burgers, crab fritters, chicken bites (get them - fried chix with bacon jam and white gravy), and Gouda fries. They packaged all of the sauces and condiments on the side which was nice since nothing got soggy. Everything was so good and we vowed to start staying in Arsley exclusively. The next time we brought the family and added salads to the mix. Also, incredible! Last weekend we were there and once again rolled up right before the kitchen closed. Everything was great and as always, service was on point. We have always had great service from both dine in and take out. Parking is easy as it's close to other places. The vibe is trendy and the girls behind the bar handle everything. The service and drinks were great. Appetizers were good but the burger didn't have flavor/ was over cooked and the fries were cold. Food is overpriced for the amount that you get. We tried this place out right around closing time a couple of nights ago. The drinks were great, I had a really good cab. Then I red the food menu and was determined to come back. So again friendly service and good drinks but the food is the focus of this review. First, the Lettuce Wraps came out which included tender flavorful steak and delicious veggies. Yum, yum yum! Then the Chicken and Grits came out. This is a favorite among the staff and I can totally see why. The salsa is awesome and perfectly sweet. The dish was well balanced with the sharp flavors of the Grits cakes. And the chicken was tender and properly charged. We'll only be here for a week but I'm already planning a 3rd trip! Yes! Finally a local neighborhood spot I can't find some higher end bourbons and feel at home. However... I regret to say that I ordered most of the menu Togo to give a feel for the new neighborhood watering hole and felt it was more of a inconvenience to Oder Togo than dine in. I ended up getting my food, shoved in a empty case of beer since the Togo containers were so small and they didn't have Togo bags. The food was ok, most burnt and not having adequate sized Togo boxes i ended up getting every menu item deconstructed very annoying I also regret to say that they don't have a cocktail menu. they also don't use fresh ingredients for juices so they have all preservatives in there cocktails. They have really made there image a dive bar instead of higher end for our neighborhood and the local hotel next door. This place could be something great, but it's becoming a letdown The lady waiting on me seemed nice. And slightly knowledgeable but needs more training. The rest of the bartenders seemed nice but getting the vibe they need more training as well. Also... You don't leave vermouth sitting out in the well, it's refrigerated. And Walmart vermouth with $15 bourbon don't make nice manhattans. read more
