We ordered carry out several times. Each time the food was cold and mushy. The food is par at best, and at times subpar. They are known for their ribs, and that is probably the best thing to order. Lol Our table had a bunch of stuff to include: potato skins, ribs, fries, baked beans, fried chicken, fried chicken salad, and chocolate cake. I wish I could say that one item on the list was good..but I would be lying. The ribs were terrible! The chicken was grocery store deli type. The potato skins were sliced like chips and baked with a poor quality cheese. The chocolate cake was border line frozen in spots. It was just simply mediocre food at best. We had heard that they have the best ribs and crab cakes so went on a Friday afternoon to avoid a crowd. We ordered the "SHOWSTOPPER" which consists of a half pound of jumbo lump crab cake plus a full rack of baby back ribs. We ordered them dry with the sauce on the side so that we could taste the flavor of the meat and smoke, unobstructed by the sauce. The ribs were tender, not very flavorful. I think all the flavor comes from the sauce which is fine if you like saucy ribs. The crab cakes were amazing. I called the number featured in a huge font on their website, got put on hold for five minutes, and then was told I had called the Cockeysville location, not Columbia. So the guy gave me the Columbia number, I called and was passed between phones (main counter v. carryout desk?) three times, but finally placed an order. Was told it would be ready in 15 min; I showed up 20 min. later, and there was a sign on the carryout counter saying to check with the bartender for carryout. She was very busy but I eventually got her attention, only to be told my order hadn't been put in the computer. We stopped in at The Corner Stable for lunch on a Sunday. It was basically empty, with some Olympic events on the TV screens above the bar, lots of and a few college student servers. The service was quick and the food was tasty. We ordered an onion blossom, which you can't get at Chili's anymore. The batter around them onions was well-seasoned, and a bit doughy, but very good with the sauce on the side. The onion blossom holds a special place in my heart, and it had been to long. Not so for the onion rings that I mistakenly ordered as a side dish along my Angus burger. Great burger, but the onion rings were greasy and bland, especially when compared to the blossom. Food here is okay. I have never felt like OMG this is amazing! It is all food that my fiancé and I could make at home. Corner Stable just makes the food a bit more "southern" styled (unhealthier). I ordered the blackened chicken cranapple salad. The chicken was cooked really good. It was seasoned and grilled til it was juicy. The salad itself is lacking something. I requested shaved Parmesan. That kicked it up a bit. I liked the freshness of the apples and the sweet tartness from the craisins. What I didn't appreciate was waiting 30 minutes for a salad in a moderately empty restaurant. I come here allot and was happy when the outdoor seating opened up. Although you can sit outside now you can not bring your dog. Its crazy MD law says you can have dogs in outside dining areas They are really missing the boat here. Just look at Annapolis and DC some of the best restaurants allow dogs in outside seating areas. Good service, good food, good specials. If you're looking for a no-fuss American meal with options for pretty much anyone, this is a good place to go. My cocktail was made well, and they offer both short and tall sizes of beer, which is nice for different people. We started with mozzarella sticks, which I can't really say much about, because how can you mess those up? My sliders were cooked just the way I asked, but they were a little dry, as if the cook had squeezed the juice out as they were cooking. The waitress I had was very nice, but the guy host seemed lazy and rude. They need better customer service at this place. I asked for a fork and that guy totally disregarded it. The food was very mediocre. I had the Chesapeake Bay sandwich. It was okay. It could have been seasoned so much better. The bread was nice and soft but it really just tasted like shrimp on bread that I could have made myself at home. The price doesn't match the quality of this food. The fries came out cold and the side of vegetables I had did not taste fresh at all. They tasted very frozen. We also had the crab dip. It was salty and greasy. The calamari wasn't bad. Love this place, the food has always been spot on. I've had the crab cakes, bbq, most of the sandwich's. I've yet to have something I didn't like. Went last night for the ribs. A good deal for $14.99 especially since I had a little leftover for lunch today ! They were fall off the bone tender. The spicy Texas sauce was a great choice (our server said it was her favorite and I tried the original, which was good but not as good as the Texas) and the fries were hot and crispy like the last time. Service was great, again. Server seemed to anticipate our needs, bringing extra napkins and water with our alcohol without being asked (love that). I really don't understand the negative reviews here (except for the sides, the ones we had were pretty underwhelming, except for the fries) this place is great ! I was the leader of 14 hungry recreational hikers last Monday. We had been to the Corner Stable before Covid stopped our hiking as a group. Now that we are back on the trails it is great to have the Corner Stable nearby with tasty offerings and a nice beer selection. The Rueben is a real deal. The burgers and ribs are also well priced. But the best part of our visit was the amazing waiter. Aaron took our orders on 14 separate checks and got great food and beers out to us in record time. Hello all my followers, this is a 2nd review of The Corner Stable. My 2nd visit , due to a long conversation with General Management, I was asked to revisit this location in order to give them an opportunity to show me how great there service really is and that my first visit was nearly a fluke and was assured it would be handled appropriately. I decided to go back and boy was I impressed with the professional and courteous staff who obviously was on the ball with service and food prep. I ordered the lump crab cake and ribsthis was extremely delicious and filling. In fact, it truly was the best I've had in a long time. It looks like my fist visit was a fluke and this place has made a complete reversal of my opinion. They really payed attention to my needs and I didn't even have to ask for refills. The waitress was very pleasant and friendly which was a joy to see. I am sooooo glad I came back, and I am grateful that they take there customer service very seriously . I had intentions of going to Sushi Nari, but they were packed with a 15minute wait. We couldnt wait as we had to go back to work, so we looked around the corner and saw The Corner Stable. We walked in and was greeted and seated immediately. The place was cozy with its high boths, and even though it was the lunch hour, the place wasnt packed. Our waitress was nice and informative. I dont remember what exactly what the sandwhich was called that i ordered, but it was along the line of The Carolina Melt ($11.99)( I already checked the website, it wasn't listed). The sandwhich consisted of pulled chicken and pork on a pretzel bun with coleslaw and topped with carolina sauce. I was so good! The pretzel bun was warm and soft, the meat was tender and juicy, and the coleslaw was lite, but had a nice crunch to it. Integrity matters when running a restaurant. While I may hand it to them for serving a decent crab cake, both management and staff illustrated in word and attitude that they were more interested in bringing in bucks for the restaurant than supporting our organization in a fundraiser through Groupraise to which they agreed. In numerous calls to resolve this issue, the owner has chosen to ignore my request for a meeting. While we make choices to patronize restaurants for the quality of their food, we need to also take into account their standards. In the case of The Corner Stable, they are sadly deficient in that area. I, along with members of our organization, intend to refrain from giving them business in the future and I encourage you to do the same. read more

Corner Stable ribs and crab cakes are among the best in the area, and personally I think the ribs are still the best I've ever had.
