Quickly seated but the wait for food was terribly long. We went in right before it would've been hectic knowing if it got busy we would've had to wait a while. Integrity matters when running a restaurant. While I may hand it to them for serving a decent crab cake, both management and staff illustrated in word and attitude that they were more interested in bringing in bucks for the restaurant than supporting our organization in a fundraiser through Groupraise to which they agreed. In numerous calls to resolve this issue, the owner has chosen to ignore my request for a meeting. While we make choices to patronize restaurants for the quality of their food, we need to also take into account their standards. In the case of The Corner Stable, they are sadly deficient in that area. Corner Stable is a pretty good restaurant with great baby back ribs. Corner Stable ribs and crab cakes are among the best in the area, and personally I think the ribs are still the best I've ever had. First it barely came out warm, there was too much filler in the crab cake, the macaroni and cheese tasted like paste, the fried apples weren't cooked throughly (crunchy in the middle) , the coleslaw was wilted, and my husband's fried chicken was over done/dry and tasteless. Went there today for lunch with a co-worker. We got there at about 1145. Not too busy. We were sat immediately and had a waitress soon there after. Nice clean place with plenty of TVs within viewing range. First the minus: No fresh brewed sweet tea. How can you eat "the best ribs" without brewed sweet tea when a beer is not an option at lunch? Anyway, the plus: We had the corn nugget appetizer which was really good. It came out quick and was plenty for us to share. We both had the half-rack of baby backs with the Texas sauce. I like it, but may order it on the side next time. The meat was cooked just right so that when we lifted a bone the meat fell onto the plate. We also substituted the fries for onion rings which were really good dipped in the remaining sauce. Good food, good prices, and the service time was perfect for a one hour lunch break. Got the Wednesday crab cake and fries special for $17 carry-out. The fries were limp and chewy and not salted at all. I slathered on the BBQ sauce to make them palatable. The crab cake was alright. A few of the lumps of crab were really chewy. Maybe it was overcooked? The crab cake itself didn't have a lot of filler, and getting towards the center, it tasted better as the doneness became more acceptable. I would recommend Timbuktu over Corner Stable. read more

I had dinner with the family on Monday evening to support Atholton Elementary fundraiser. Restaurant seemed overwhelmed by the number of customers so food took a long time. Our server was nice (Cindy/Sidney?) and fairly attentive. My son's burger was undercooked after a pretty long wait and they apologized and re-did it but it meant more waiting. When it was time for the check, there was even more waiting. Ribs were pretty good, re-done burger was ok and kid menu pizza was a little undercooked/doughy. We come here once or twice a year but if the food was better we would visit more often since we live close by. read more

Food was just okay. We got the Stable Combo and the Showstopper. I have to first say the customer service was excellent. The female that greeted us at the carry out was nice and welcoming. The sweet corn nuggets and breaded pickle spears was deliciously yummy. The Showstopper was just okay. It left me desiring more. Crab cakes were fine but the ribs left me desiring more. It was tender, but the portion was small and it looked plain. It didn't have any char marks or any browning. I have had really mixed experiences here. I have been about four or five times. Overall, the service is consistently good. I've really appreciated the attentiveness of the waitstaff and the managers. When we get our "usual" (pulled pork sandwich special for hubby and fish and chips for me) we aren't disappointed. Except at a Friday night dinner when the chips were a bit old and soggy. But when we go during a weekend afternoon, it has always been fresh and delicious. I have tried a couple of other items on the menu and have been disappointed. We just moved into the surrounding area. I've been here a few times now and never had a bad experience (but they weren't above average either). The food is good. The crab cakes are decent almost all lump crab meat. There are better ones in the area mostly because I think their seasoning needs work, being in Maryland there is some hard competition. The BBQ is VERY good and I have no reservations recommending that. The ribs are tender fall off the bone great and seasoned well. Corner Stable also has an extensive beer list but is considerably lacking in the mixed/cocktail menu. The service like other reviews stated can be hit or miss. Staff members were never rude to me and always friendly and helpful. However on some visits it was hard to flag them down or they just seemed to disappear from the floor causing more wait times. The ribs were not quite awful, but no where near the best ribs in the city. I am from Memphis TN and my philosophy is if there is no wood smoke coming from the restaurant, don't order the ribs and Corner Stable rib's met that creed. I think they were boiled then over sauced with something that tasted like something from a high school cafeteria. Also their sides were less than inspiring. We went to corner stable recently expecting bar grub and a decent place to watch a game. I ordered the crab cake platter, and my wife tried the shrimp sandwich. The crab cake itself was not bad... But it came with broccoli that was barely thawed, and potatoes that were clearly from a box. My wife's sandwich came on a stale bun, and came with fries that were burned to a crisp and flavorless. Ate here last night. We were seated right away and wait staff was attentive and friendly. Ordered the munchie combo (5 mozzarella sticks, 3 chicken tenders, 5 onion rings). The chicken tenders were nice and juicy. Mozzarella sticks and onion rings were pretty standard. We also got the philly cheesesteak and build your own burger. Cheesesteak was good (nothing amazing but good) and burger was cooked to order so A+ there. The onion rings on the burger were better than the ones that came with the appetizer. They had a different breading that was similar to what was on mozzarella sticks and chicken tenders. Generous amounts of fries and they were pretty tasty. Overall: I wouldn't go out of your way to try this restaurant, but if you're in the area or live close by it's a good option. We just moved to Md and whenever we go to cvs or the grocery store, we walk by this restaurant, and it always smells so good. One day I decided to look them up to see what types of foods they had...I ended up ordering the Thanksgiving family meal. Oh my goodness it's perfect. We came here for dinner on NYE and it was a fabulous way to end the year. We were seated immediately and ordered the beer flight which was a steal at $6.50. My husband and I went with a large group for dinner to the corner stable. In reading the reviews and their website we decided to try the crab cake and rib planter. The ribs were baby back and of good quality. However, they had zero dry rub. They basically had no taste unless you smothered them in sauce. We tried the Texas sauce which was good; I'm just not a fan of drowning anything is sauce. So, unless you like your ribs very wet, skip them. As for the crab cake, it was chocked full of lump meat of the highest quality. Again, it too was in need of a little Old Bay and maybe a little dry mustard. A lemon wedge on the side would also have helped out. It too was served with two different sauces. I guess they know it too needed some umpf. I looked around at the other diners and I will say the hamburgers looked first rate. All agreed they were excellent and I wish I had ordered one. Someone else had the fish and chips and they said it too was good. The Corner Stable seems to deep fry many things. We also tried the blooming onion which was say too salty. We tried the onion rings which were delicious and first rate. The fries were also average. In the end, I would return, but just have the burger. read more

The Corner Stable can be a miss provided that you simply focus on its location. Not to detract from the location, but one could mistakenly believe this is just another sub-par restaurant in a strip mall. I assure you it is not. Despite the generic, no frills, simplistic sign outside, the food is worth the 45-minute drive north from Washington, DC. We ordered the ribs, shrimp, and the crab cake. Being that I am not from Maryland, and crab/crab cakes are not my life, I must say this crab cake had so much meat in it I was stunned. I was eating meat, meat, and more meat. The shrimp tasted like it was wild caught and not raised on a shrimp farm. It was hand battered and humongous. The sides were lacking in portion, and the gravy definitely was dumped out of a jar then reheated. The ribs were everything people have stated. I am not a rib ran because I don't like getting messy to eat, but these ribs were fork edible. I fell in love with the ribs. If you like to sit at the bar, there are two bars: one as you enter the restaurant and one at the rear of the restaurant nestled behind a closed door. Quaint. What happened???? I ordered the ribs with a side of beans, macaroni and cheese, and cornbread and I don't know what happened because this cornbread is completely spoiled. I made cornbread myself and I know it takes about five days sitting out to spoil to this level. I did get my refund from this app but I'm really disappointed in the service because what if I had fed this to my babies and they got sick? That's the part that bothers me the most. When you're serving the community food and feeding families it's pretty important the amount of detail you put into your work. And that's why I'm giving this a one star rating.
