Very good experience! Highly recommended. 4.5 for food 5 for service The drive to this location at night feels like you're going to the back alley of the woods. Don't worry, you kinda are. Plenty of parking in front as it is located next to office buildings. The entrance is on the side, between two buildings. If you continue down, it is the dock with a good view during the day. As you walk into the restaurant, you check in with the host/hostess stand. Went on a Saturday night so getting there around 7pm means about 1 hour wait for 2 with the option of bar and bar tops which are faster. No issues there! We ended up getting seated at 20 minutes in at the bar. Everyone was friendly. Thoroughly enjoyed the interaction with the bartender. He was on top of everything, expert in making drinks left and right while taking orders. Superb! Oh, he, Hunter, came up with the cocktails. I tried the cucumber cannonball, delicious and summery. Had the poke tower, it was good though I am more used to the san francisco version where it is all sashimi. This has sashimi, raw fish, on top then layer down with rice topped with two wonton chips. Got half dozen raw oysters. Yum. Comes with the different sauces- i really liked the vinaigrette. Got the seafood bucatini, pretty good. Also got the cove salad. Please note: this is a STARTER salad. So the portion is small in American standards. Borderline maybe not worth the price, however, looking with American Obesity, I think the portion is good! However, it's the ambiance that truly stands out and will give you the satisfaction you're looking for. First time visitors to The Cove on the Vancouver (WA) waterfront. The staff was wonderful, and Adam went above and beyond to make the afternoon special. We ordered their new Texas steak (which was fabulous) and a hamburger (which was amazing). The Cove apparently updates their menu from time-to-time, and the Texas steak was a new item. Definitely worth it. You can't beat the view and the ambiance was perfect for anyone who wants a nice quiet dinner with the opportunity to have a good conversation. Kudos to The Cove for setting their music level to a perfect volume. Nice background music without being too loud and intrusive. Lived in Vancouver for some time and never heard of this restaurant. It's on the Columbia River and the views are spectacular. The ambiance is even better. Open and slightly retro. Antonio was server and was personable and knowledgeable of the menu. In fact, all the staff that visited were equally impressive. Our entire experience was seamless. Now, the food: Seafood Fondue with soft, herb focaccia bread was out of this world good. All 4 of us fought over it! Crab cakes, rib eye steak, halibut fish & chips, calamari and a market seafood salad. Desert was the butter cake. Everything was 5-star. Originally I had planned to go to another seafood place close by, but a local told us about this place so we have it a try. So glad we did! It's a nice spacious bright, light modern space right next to a marina on the Columbia River. The place was starting to get busy at 5, but we got a nice table looking out toward the patio and river. Our waiter was charming and we all craved seafood. My friends wanted oysters and this was to celebrate them so we went for it. We got two trays of oysters (which I actually enjoyed with this perfect mignonette!) , a chilled seafood platter, and a crab tower. Everything tasted so fresh! I wasn't sure about chilled sea food but the octopus, lobster, scallops, and salmon was all delicious! I didn't try the mussels but they got thumbs up from the other two. We ended with a couple desserts which were equally well made and left with very happy bellies! Afterwards, you can take a nice walking path down past the marina and watch the sunset. This is a beautiful location! Tucked away but right at the waters edge. We went in the winter but would love to come back when the patio is open in the summer. The food was equally as good! We went on a weekend for brunch and ordered almost exclusively off the starters/shareables menu and it was all delicious and filling! This is the second time here and we went for Social Hour. Very limited on seafood selection so I ordered the white cheddar burger. Unfortunately for me it was not a good choice. The burger was a thin previously frozen patty. I really expected a higher quality meat patty. It's one of the worst burgers I have ever had!!! They have a fantastic spot along the Columbia River, but away from the hustle & bustle of the downtown Vancouver waterfront. With such a great scenic spot they have a big patio, and the interior has huge windows so you can enjoy the views both inside and out. During the height of the pandemic I enjoyed a to-go meal from here of their King Ora Salmon entree that came with roasted veggies & potatoes, and it was so delicious. We finally came to dine in-person for brunch on a gorgeous sunny day and sat on the patio. The entire staff was friendly and welcoming, and our server was wonderful (I'm sorry, I'm not good at remembering names). The Hubs had their traditional eggs benedict and I had the short rib hash with poached eggs - and it was all so good we both cleaned our plates (I really should have stopped myself and taken half home, as I left there totally stuffed, but it was so darn yummy!). We also both enjoyed a Bloody Mary, which came garnished with several pickled veggies and a large, poached shrimp. It's a beautiful restaurant, and you are certainly paying a premium for the great location, plus I expect a seafood place to naturally cost more, so this will be more of a special occasion or splurge place for us. With 2 drinks and the 2 brunch entrees, plus tip, it was a hefty bill of $104 (expect even more if you're having pricier dinner entrees),. I only wish they were open earlier for brunch on the weekends during the warmer months because they don't open until 11:30a, and inthe heat of the Summer it's already too hot to sit outside for my taste. I'm glad we lucked out with a lovely Autumn Saturday with the sunshine, but not the extreme heat. A perfect special place for a meal! read more

We had the oysters to start & they where so fresh. The mussels also very good. The crab tower was okay but good. I would for sure get the Oysters right now & the mussels to start. We also tried the lobster Mac & the ahi dinner. The service was very good everyone was very friendly & made sure you had everything you needed. They have outside seating as well. Your view is of the Columbia River. Tonight was a beautiful night to have sat outside. We had choose the inside for first visit experience. We finished the dinner with there amazing desserts. What can I say but the best seafood restaurant in the Vancouver/Portland area! The Hot Seafood Platter was amazing and I could have tried ten more things. My real estate agent gave us a Cove gift card for using her services about a year ago. It's that time of year when my BF gets older, so I figured this was a great occasion to use it. It's surprisingly close, about 20 minutes or less to get to it from where we live. There's a clearly marked garage under the restaurant that's free so you don't need to take a ticket. Just drive in and park. Curious to know how they regulate it but that might be moot in 2% land. There's a glass enclosed entry for the elevator in the garage which opens, surprisingly, at the order pick up window. I asked the hostess if we'd come in the wrong way, but she said we were good, so I guess that's how they designed it. The ambience is nearly awe-inspiring considering how open and light-filled the space is. Duct and pipe work are matted in black or left natural against wood-slatted ceilings. Picture windows enfold the entire dining room so you can't miss seeing the waterfront nearby where wealthy Washingtonians take walks or visit their boats. Watch the autumn foliage flutter to earth as you wait. And breathe. Service is on point here. Everyone is sweet and helpful. They seated us at a booth right away on a Sunday afternoon. We wanted to try dinner but couldn't wait until 4 PM to eat so we both picked the halibut and chips, and he got the gem salad. It took maybe ten minutes or so to get the salad, but our waitress came by often to offer an update. BF was impressed how they kept his glass of Sprite full. They even came by to fill my glass of water. I guess I'll never really be able to fully relax and allow the staff to do what comes naturally to me. I can lift a pitcher and pour, after all. Why not enjoy that ability while I can? Haha. The gem salad is rather small for $15. He finished it in less than 2 minutes. He poked suspiciously at the beets and then ate them. He doesn't like anything that provides too much crunchy resistance to his bridge so the croutons stayed where they were like dutiful soldiers that had failed to protect the lettuce. I find salad dressing repellent so I couldn't bring myself to snap a pic, sorry. The halibut is accompanied by tartar sauce, ketchup and an unidentified orange sauce. I eschewed all of it and set it aside. The fish could have used some malt vinegar tbh but it was quality, expertly cooked halibut which I did thoroughly enjoy. The fries were kind of like eating lightly fried slabs of potato. They weren't heavily seasoned but I would have appreciated them more if they had been. $28 seemed high for 2 pieces of fish, some potatoes and a slaw neither of us touched. The batter is the bread crumb kind (I prefer the beer batter variety) that was durable enough to stand up to the lemon without getting soggy. BF thought it all very tasty. Me, it was okay. With tip the brunch would have cost $100 without the gift card. I understand that prices are up on food and am acutely reminded every time I visit Safeway, but it's precisely because food prices are so dear that visits to establishments that only the affluent can regular will be limited at best. read more

Making reservations was a breeze, I was seated quickly even though I was early and given a beautiful spot outside for our first sunny day of summer. This evening was our first visit at The Cove. We had plenty of room at our table for our group of six. Reservations are recommended. We were about 15 minutes early, and our table was ready. The focaccia bread was fresh, and tasted great. Our entrees were Halibut Fish and Chips, Halibut Sandwich, Ora King Salmon, Double Cut Hawaiian Pork Chop, and two of us ordered the Seafood Thermidor Bucatini. Everything was cooked perfectly. Each person said their individual dish was wonderful. The upstairs had a private party group. You could not hear anyone talking, but you could hear children running. It was continuous stomping for about 30 minutes. Our waiter was very friendly. He was a bit scarce since he was waiting on several tables. Overall, all six of us said we would love to come back. Sunday we ate at The Cove. It was all fine except when I got to see what they charged me. I used a credit card and paid exactly what I thought the bill was supposed to be. I ALWAYS leave a cash tip and put "CASH" where the line for the tip is supposed to be so the wait staff doesn't have to declare the tip for tax purposes. The wait staff not only took the tip, but somehow extra money had been charged to my card. I find this to be so sneaky, I am not going back. read more

Server AM B was friendly took the drink order and didn't pressure to decide on food right away...when it was time started with 5 spice Tempura shrimp, and wanted to try a few things so got Ricotta Pancakes so delicious and Macadamia Crab Cake Eggs Benedict...If you get it be prepared to be happy it was OUTSTANDING. They have a great drink menu with some House specialties and a wonderful selection of Quality Taps. It is wise (very easy) to make online reservations.
