I have frequented this place many times over the years. This was my first bad experience. Arrived at 9 am and sat at counter. I was totally ignored till 9:10. There were only 3 guests at the counter including myself. I finally was given a menu and ordered at 9:15. At 9:45 I asked the waitress if my order would be up soon. I was curtly told it would be out soon. At 9:50 my food arrived 35 minutes later. Toast was unbuttered and cold Sausage was also cold. So disappointed. This has not been my experience before but I will definitely be trying other places. read more

What makes a restaurant worth a return trip? First and foremost, good food, right? The Cozy Grill has it with many breakfast and lunch options. What else brings you back? For me a friendly efficient staff, family atmosphere, clean dining areas and bathroom (important to this reviewer), and plenty of free, off street parking. Again The Cozy Grill fits the bill. This was our first visit and it won't be our last. We dined on a Saturday, late morning with about a 20 minute wait. The hostess cheerfully took my reservation and phone number at the door. Our table was ready in short order and we quickly had our coffees. We waited a bit for our waitress, but once she arrived the service was good. She took our drink and juice orders, (yes, they offer traditional Bloody Marys and Mimosas, along with other specialty drinks) and shortly after our meal choices. The Bloody Mary was very good, just enough spicy for me. To say the portions were plentiful is an understatement. The omelettes, a Pastrami, a Western and a Spinach/Feta could have fed two people, so we ate for two. The 'Benny' dish and eggs/bacon choice were also of good size with a bread substitution cheerfully accommodated. Coffee refills were offered often during our meal. We stayed for well over an hour and a half and never felt rushed. We'll choose The Cozy Grill again for a delicious, leisurely and pleasant dining experience. read more

Food is good! I would have given it 5 stars but the "waitress" or whoever this person was taking phone orders was extremely RUDE to a friend picking up my food. As he was leaving she yells in front of everyone, "thanks for tipping!". If she need to have tips to survive at a job then she need to go back to school for a better career or maybe just be more courteous to people then maybe she would get a damn tip!!!! Super busy which was to be expected and the wait was only about 10 minutes. The waiter came over and he was nice but he didn't really check in on us or ask us how things were going. My husband got his eggs Benedict before my omelette so he waited until I was also served, by the time this happened his food was cold. I asked for no onions, and received an omelette with what appeared to be an entire onion, there were also onions in the hash browns. COVID TIME REVIEW: My boyfriend and I stopped by this cute breakfast place this Tuesday on the way back to NJ from our little staycation in Pawtuxet, RI. We originally planned to go to JP Spoonems but they were closed for Thanksgiving weekend. We were lucky to come across The Cozy Grill! Service was prompt and fast, the head waitress/owner(?) was VERY friendly and greeted everyone while also recommending drinks, specials, and checking up frequently on what we needed and how our meal was; she lifted spirits. I ordered the California omelette (which came with toast and home fries), and my boyfriend ordered the recommended special of the day, the shaved steak omelette. Food came out promptly and was fresh and hot. Super yummy! She gave us Frank's hot sauce, ketchup, salt, and pepper condiments before our food came out so we were ready to dig in. Overall, we had a very pleasant breakfast experience here and would come back in a heartbeat if we are ever in the area again. Thank you for the nice experience and delicious meal! read more

What can I say about The Cozy Grill that hasn't already been said. Place is nothing short of legendary. I've been a fan of this place since my first trip in the mid 90s. We stopped in to the Cozy Grill while traveling. What a nice surprise! I saw the Breakfast menu online and took a detour. So glad we did. Friendly staff and great service. Super clean and has a homey atmosphere with funky decorations . The owners Aunt Mary is the epitome of a hostess. Very sweet and became Everyone's Aunt who sat down in the place. We happened to see this place featured on The Phantom Gourmet and decided to take a ride to check it out. We went on a Sunday afternoon and the place was an absolute madhouse. We were told there would be about a 20 minute wait but we ended up waiting closer to 40 minutes for a table. The parking lot was full and I was surprised to see there were no designated handicapped spaces, so we ended up parking down the side street along with a good number of other patrons whose cars lined the street. In addition to the front diner area with booths and counter seating, there are two back rooms with tables and chairs available for additional seating. The whole place was packed and the staff was working very quickly to clear, clean, and set up tables as fast as they became available. While looking at the menu, we were told that on Sunday's they only serve breakfast - which was fine with us - we were there to try one of the dozen varieties of eggs Benedict they serve. The food came out fairly quickly and was hot and tasty. Three of us ordered different types of eggs Benedict (Irish, Buffalo, and steak) and the fourth member of our group ordered a waffle, which ended up being the favorite item of the meal. We noticed an older woman going table to table to talk about specials and greeting patrons as they were entering/leaving the restaurant, but she never came by our table and didn't acknowledge us as we were leaving, so we didn't have the chance to find out who she was or her connection to the place. If I'm being totally honest, I'm not sure that this place is worth the hype. The food was good but it was so busy and I think the staff was more focused on turning tables over quickly than on our overall dining experience. read more

My husband and I took a trip to RI for his birthday to visit all of his friends and right before we came back to jersey we decided to get some breakfast. We had a large party of 9 and without an earlier reservation it was very hard to find a place to eat. The Cozy Grill was very nice and definitely made it so that we were accommodated. Unfortunately, the reason I give this place 3 stars is because the food just didn't do it for us. It lacked lots of seasoning in many of the dishes we ordered. I ordered the surf and turf eggs Benedict which I was so excited to try and it just didn't have the flavor I thought it would. I ended up adding lots of hit sauce to give it some kick. Phenomenal breakfast. Visiting for a graduation and was looking for a brunch spot that was not too pricy/ could accommodate a group of 7. Really cozy vibe during xmas time, we were seated by a Christmas tree with bacon, butter and other breakfast item ornaments. Tables were spaced out so you wouldn't hear other tables' conversations. Food was probably some of the best breakfast I've ever had. Had the cozy special and it was just an A+. Everyone at our table was satisfied with their meals. I moved to the area last year and visited Cozy Grill four times. The food is good and decor is nice! Every time I visit (never on the weekends) I feel rushed at approximately thirty minutes of being in their establishment. Three of the times it was not busy. The waitress we get every time is pleasant enough but seems stressed. Maybe she's told to get people in and out as soon as possible? I'm not sure I will return as it's hard to unwind at this restaurant and their prices are higher than most breakfast/lunch establishments. read more

Everything we had was extraordinary! The ambiance inside was perfect. Just cozy enough, but brightly lit, clean, and buzzing with activity. But the food was something really special. I got the Irish Benedict and the corned beef hash was the best I've eaten. Fresh and lighter than you'd expect and full of flavor. Even the english muffin it was served on seemed above average. The home fries, too, were made with so much flavor (and actually had onions mixed in which I hardly find any more). Overall we were so blown away that we'll return for every visit to Warwick. Depending on my mood, I would either get the Cornbread Waffle and corn beef hash (extra crispy, I must add) or one of their burgers. The Figgy Burger is my FAVORITE, on it is, goat cheese, grilled onions, their homemade fig spread on.... A Portuguese bolo bun... the bolo bun is a game changer!!!! Their hand cut fries are so home-y and tasty... this burger is a MUST TRY! Their specials are great too, they change the Benedict specials quite often. I just ate breakfast here and loved it. The people are friendly, the menu is creative and extensive (nice to see waffles on a breakfast menu), and the food was delicious. It's a busy place (especially on a Sunday morning) but the service was fast. I had the vegetarian omelette with raisin bread toast (another item you see too rarely on breakfast menus). Yum! Everything was great, especially that toast. The home fries were perfect. I sat at the counter where I got to watch everyone cooking. People work hard here but they keep things fun and friendly. It was missing home fries so I went back in. I told cashier and she said they're not included. I told her I had ordered them though. She said she could put in order. It came out quickly but an additional 3.50. $11 for bacon, egg and cheese and home fries? Am I missing something? Take out from JP Spoonems nearby. 11/26/22 -- We went around 11 am and there was a bit of a wait (around 30 minutes) but the wait staff were very friendly. I ended up getting chicken soup and a chicken parm sandwich while my sister got an omelette with home fries. The food was filling and portions were a good size. A friend of ours suggested this place because he has been there before so we were up of for trying someplace new. The menu was very complete and I was excited that they had a bunch of different pancakes, waffles, French toast. But they don't have real Maple syrup. It always amazes when breakfast places don't have real syrup...I'm always willing to pay extra for the real thing. We were told it would be a 15 minute wait, but a few minutes later were offered seats at the counter. Fascinating to watch the crew at work preparing all the orders.
