This has never happened before but this time when I got my order my two snow crab claws where missing the two of them hopefully it doesn't happen again it cost me $45 for the snow crab and no claw. Was in the area recently so we hit up The Crab Shack for something quick, to fill us up but not put us over the edge. I been meaning to try their soft shell crab since I drool just from the photos I been seeing online. We got shrimp and the soft shell crab and it was like a little piece of seafood heaven in my mouth. I always get nervous about getting stuck with pounds of shrimp over cooked but it definitely was not the case! The shrimp was cooked perfectly and tasted fresh and seasoned to perfection. I was pretty happy with that. I'm not usually one to order soft shell crab but trust me you're gonna wanna try theirs cause it's that good!! I'm so sad that it's not closer to me so I can consume this more often. Staff were friendly and really up-kept with our refills. Nothing worst than eating spicy foods running out of something to wash it down with. I did stalk the reviews before trying the place to set my expectations just right or see what other reviewers suggest and don't suggest. Someone didn't like the disposable utensils and tablewear they used and they must've not eaten at many crawfish / Louisiana Cajun style seafood joints because that's how they are all set up. Had a girls day with my mom and daughter taking my mom to lunch. We had a great time and the service was superb. The waiters even assist my mom as she needed help walking to the ladies room. I haven't been to this type of restaurant in a while and I was pleasantly pleased with the quality of the food and great service - I cannot express enough. Being from Louisiana, my expectations are always low but this place sets the bar for socal. Please please please try the mussels. Walked to Vons to do my usual grocery shopping before crossing Broadway, I see people walking in here. I took a detour and followed them in. Wow what a change from the Cider place! The vibe inside is super casual, bright, a pelican statue to greet you, lol. This place is ready with the parchment paper on tables for some serious messy eats (similar to other crab boil places). TVs are also on so you can feast and watch the game or whatevers... I love crab and all the fixin's but really needed to grab some essentials at Vons so I asked if I could order and get it to go. Servers were helpful. Prices are just what they are, market price. Paid $26 for a pound of the snow crab legs. Added the crab shack style sauce with medium kick. I'm not really into super spicy but this was good enough for me. It's legit and deeelish! Only open 5pm to 10pm Monday to Thursday. Fridays open 5pm to 11pm. My family and I were in town so we decided to eat some local seafood. We found The Crab Shack. It wasn't too busy so we decided to dine in. The restaurant was clean and it smelled great! The staff was very welcoming and sat us down asap. Started with garlic fries and some toast, both very good and filling. Then for dinner my boys ended up getting the shrimp basket with fries, my wife and I ordered a seafood boil to feed two people. The food was good and has lots of garlic but they over do it with the sodium! Overall good food. I recommend but make sure you drink plenty of water. read more

This casual dining crab Shock has amazing service. All servers are very friendly and provide amazing service. Their Spicy Gumbo was fabulous, seasoned to perfection. There were large chunks of chicken, andoulie sausage and medium sized shrimp. The okra was cooked to perfection! This was an amazingly flavorful gumbo. Their Soft Shelled Crab Burger was great! The coleslaw was well dressed, not too wet and the bun was delicious. There were 2 soft shelled crabs in my burger and it was fried to perfection. The batter is seasoned, so it enhances the flavor of the crab and doesn't over power it. The fries were flavored well with a cajun seasoning. Nice, new spot on Broadway in the LBC. With the hot, hot days we've been having, neither of us were going to cook and decided to try this newly opened Crab Shack. It's simply designed to get you in, sit you down, serve your food and get you on your way. The atmosphere was comfortable and the music piping through the speakers was reminiscent of the late 80's-90's funk and R&B...we enjoyed it...especially when Return of The Mack started playing, hubby and I couldn't help but smile and sing along. Sean, our waiter, was attentive and laid back. I asked what he recommended between the Po'Boy with lots of shrimp or the soft shell crab burger...he said the Po'Boy was one of his faves, and am I glad I ordered that one (Thanks Sean). The shrimp were big, fat and seasoned deliciously and the coleslaw was so crisp and fresh. Hubby enjoyed several bites from my humongous Po'Boy. On his plate were perfectly seasoned garlic shrimp noodles and a side of garlic bread...YUMMY-LICIOUS was his food and we both enjoyed our meal, the atmosphere and the service. There is still a newness about this place, being that it's only 2 months since its opening- but I'm sure it'll become quite the busy spot once word gets around. Another notable mention- on the sidewalk, outside of the patio area, there are very neat accent tiles. I didn't get good pics of them, but will return in the daytime to capture some shots. Been craving seafood boil ive had the boiling crab really good i love that place wanted to try this place out so i got 2 pounds of shrimp with sausage,corn & potatoes When i tell you it was nasty, it was disgusting the shrimp felt like i was chewing gum ... GROSS taking the shell off the shrimp it would melt in my hands idk how to explain it, it was nasty! The only good thing was the corn and potatoes but the sausage not so great either i definitely don't recommend this place or wont ever be ordering ever again. read more

Hate leaving a bad review but when your spending over $100 for seafood, you expect more because it's not like I am getting a $1 taco from a fast food joint. I ordered the number 2 combo I have no complaint on the quantity or quality. I am more upset that there is absolutely no sauce in the bag, I've been to many places like this and have also got them to go and delivered and never have I got zero sauce in the bag maybe it's a togo thing for this place BUT can you not put it on the side then!? The other complaint is I ordered crab and they didn't include clarified butter. This is seafood! it's like ordering a taco and getting no hot sauce! it needs to come with the right complimentary sides, especially when spending so much money and I know what your thinking, "Don't you have butter at home?" Well I don't, I just moved in my place and wanted to order some food! I also don't have some random delicious sauce that my seafood was tossed in on hand either... In all just disappointed, was starving, craving seafood splurged and dropped some money and I got food in a bag, no sauce to dip it in and no butter for my crab so it just kind of made the food and experience blah ..not sure I'd get togo again. However, the amount of seafood boil sauce was not very abundant & too peppery for me. It was very hard for me to find spot in the bag to fully dip the crabmeat. The shrimp fried rice just had shrimp & sausage. To me definitely could use some vegetables to balance out the fattiness & saltiness of the sausage. Lastly, the limes provided were so dry, It was nearly impossible to get any juice out of them. As much as I would like to.....I cannot recommend this place. read more

Upon my sister recommendation, she said I should try this place. She had ordered take out from here numerous times and raved their food was great. The restaurant didn't have a parking lot. We almost gave up after 10 minutes but second later a parking space open up. Yes! As we walked up to order, I noticed they had an open area to eat. There was about 6 or 8 tables. The tables was separated by a glass barrier. It looks safe and clean. We ordered combo #one - 2 pounds of shrimp and one pound muscle; spicy. The wait was 15 minutes. DO NOT GO HERE... the manager and entire staff are racist assholes. Me and my GF just witnessed straight up racism between the manager and staff, and another customer. The two ladies sitting next to us told the server that they never received their 2nd bag of shrimp and had been waiting and waiting... and after the waitress came out like 5 diff times back and forth playing "telephone", she told them she would get the manager. We were so shocked of the lack of customer service. Needless to say things got loud and the manager started arguing with the ladies. Instead of just refunding them their $15 fucking dollars!!!!!!!! Because what?? They were black he assumed they were lying!?!!?! We stayed for the entire duration because we were the last customers and the manager kept threatening to call the police because the ladies "threatened them" --which they DID NOT hence why we stayed... and these ladies had their young children there (who btw were so scared at the altercation). After like 30 mins he finally gave them their goddamn refund. On top of all of that, they forgot part of our order too.. and when my gf went to ask about it (prior to all this happening) one of the cooks in the back rudely said he never saw that order come in?? Placed a phone order on August 16 right when they opened. (12pm). Since our order was over $65 we were told that they would get our order started but we have to pay when we get there but there would be an additional 10 minutes wait. Since we are staying in a hotel near by, we don't have any fork and plates in our room (We asked for 10 plates). The person on the phone told us it's ok. I paid for my order at 12:07pm (according to the receipt). I didn't receive our order until 12:57pm. 40 minutes longer than what we were told. When I received my order, I reminded the guy that we need fork and plates. He went ahead and give us just three. I told them I need more, he went back to his station and came back to me and said he only give me 3. Mind you this is a $110 worth of orders for a group of people.I told him that we called this in ahead of time, he gave me an attitude and told me "I don't know what to tell you". I reminded him that we called this in ahead of time and I've been waiting for almost an hour. After giving me more attitude he finally gave us extra. What a terrible experience, we called right when they opened to make sure everything would be ok since we had 4 little kids waiting for food. My daughter and I didn't know what to order and the young lady taking our order was very patient and detailed while explaining our options. Our order came out in a decent amount of time and the two young ladies working would come and check on us every few minutes. Well, take out has become the norm for all those that can order. WE feel extremely fortunate and blessed week by week as this year 2020 Spring had a much different outcome for sooo many. Thank you LBC and thank you to my craving for something with a lil bit of cajun seasoning. Our dinner order was 2 po boys....his was catfish and mine shrimp. Called the order in and the guy was REALLY polite. WARNING, theres absolutely NO parking (street only) and no curbside drop, so you have to park and walk up and still wait. Paid at the clean front patio window, a cup for sanitized pens and a cup for used pens. That extra touch seemed really helpful. Wait chairs were placed 6' apart. Staff were all wearing masks, most not all customers had masks over the nose (sad how the man carrying an infant and wallet had no mask). The line kept growing, big takeout orders $$$. Crab legs seemed to be the #1 item. Took our order home and could not have enjoyed our order more. Much better than we could have imagined. Better than Farmers Market LA. Gonna try the chowder I ordered at lunch today. WE will be back, not frequently because we have to jog there and back to burn the extra good flavors. Totally surprised. read more

They ruined my birthday.... partially. I spent over 230.00 and my food was just ok. I waited forever to get it, items were missing so I had to go back. Then I paid for extra sausage and shrimp in my gumbo but I had about 3 shrimp and definitely not extra sausage. I asked for rice on the side but they put it in my gumbo and that's NOT why I wanted rice!! So that was ruined. The oysters and calamari were fried soft instead of crispy as described. It was awful in comparison to my first visit... night and day. I was pissed and wish I had gotten something else for my birthday get together. Then I called once I got home because I was so disappointed. The owner Kye was very nice and offered to give me a free gumbo with extra shrimp, sausage and threw in crabmeat with rice on the side.
