I ordered my husband's 50th birthday cake. It was so cute. Exactly what I wanted and ask for. Service was very nice and the cake was absolutely delicious. The chocolate cake is amazing. Definitely getting another one soon. I love that. You can go in there and try samples and they already have some cakes made that you can just buy and treats. It's wonderful. You must check it out, they will greet you when you come in and ask if there's anything you need it's a quick and easy pick up. If you're just stopping by to grab something sweet we also loved the chocolate dipped cookies the brownies and the lemon bars.

I can't believe I've been a customer now for over 6 years! We consistently buy vegan cakes for our daughters' birthdays here. The cakes are always tasty. We also occasionally order cakes for other family members and pick up vegan treats when available. Alicia and her staff are now in a bigger building in the same complex. The decor is set up really cute inside and she has quite a few non-vegan options. I would call ahead if looking to pick up same day cupcakes. Otherwise, order your cakes with plenty of time in advance to make sure she's not already booked. Thanks for having vegan options!

We couldn't have been happier with our wedding cake from The Crimson Cake! They created a beautiful semi-naked three-tier cake that looked exactly like our inspiration photos. The details were done so thoughtfully and it fit our wedding style perfectly. They also offered three different flavors, which our guests absolutely loved and everything tasted just as amazing as it looked. The pricing was very reasonable and the delivery and setup on the wedding day made everything completely stress-free. If you're looking for someone who listens to your vision and brings it to life while creating a delicious cake, I highly recommend The Crimson Cake!

Awesome bakery here in Oceanside. I purchased the piña colada cake for my daughter's 18 birthday. It was just what my daughter wanted: elegant, light blue with gold accents , and delicious! The frosting, coconut, and pineapple complemented each other beautifully. The ladies were so helpful in the shop--I would have definitely set that cake in my lap if she hadn't said not to, lol! I'm tempted to come back for their other sweet treats that were on display.

This cake and cupcake place (plus more!) is awesome. I have purchased a cake here before--rather last-minute--for my son's birthday, and they were able to make it look special while being affordable and delicious. Now, three years later, taste and service are still on point. I called ahead to see if they had pre-made cupcakes, I was told yes, so I timed my trip there based on when the mini cupcakes would be available. By the time I got there they were almost sold out (this is on a Saturday)! I'm glad I made it, because the cupcake flavors and presentation were excellent and it was so convenient to be able to pick them up the morning(ish) of the party without ordering ahead. My advice would be to get there early on the weekend though! Cupcakes are moist, flavors delicate and complex, and the piped-in whipped cream in the middle is divine.

Have never seen a more beautiful cake than my son's planets cake. He is obsessed with planets so I ordered this cake a week before his party and was able to get it even more stunning than the photo I saw online. My son doesn't like chocolate cake so he picked berries and cream and it was delicious! Our guests commented on how delicious and not to sweet the cake was. Plus I picked up some gluten free cupcakes at the store for some of our guests, which looked so posh like they were from a bakery in la or something, with flavors like red velvet, mocha, and confetti. Cake is not cheap, but worth it. Especially if you live near Oceanside.

We ordered a sample box, to try out some of their great flavors. We loved them! Communication from placing the order and details for picking up were straight to the point and easy. Staff were super friendly when we arrived to pick up the sample box. We will definitely be coming back for all our bakery purchases.

The cake was not only gorgeous but delicious and all our guests said so. I would definitely recommend Alicia and absolutely think she did a fabulous job with what I wanted and the execution was beautiful! Everyone was impressed that the hat was edible as well with rice crispy treats helping to keep the shape. The top layer was carrot cake and my friend said it was the best she had ever tasted. My son is allergic to tree nuts so it had none and l thought it was awesome that it's pretty common that Alicia does a lot of cakes without nuts. The bottom layer was red velvet. It was superb!

5 stars isn't enough! For my baby shower yesterday the Crimson Cake made the most BEAUTIFUL little woodland cake! None of us wanted to eat it, though it was perfectly moist and tasted amazing inside so I'm glad we did. They also provided us with adorable cookies, mushroom cake pops, dipped rice crispy treats and pretzels.... All incredible. Everyone was complimenting the treats!! Really took what was already a beautiful shower and elevated it to the next level! read more

I think this might be the most delicious cupcakes we have ever eaten. We ordered 30 cupcakes for my grandson's birthday party. Vanilla with chocolate frosting and chocolate with vanilla frosting is what he wanted! They are super moist with a creamy filling and they are absolutely out of this world delicious!! They were decorated just perfect also and looked beautiful. The wife and I tasted 7 different cakes from 3 different cake companies and nothing compared to Crimson Cake. The cakes at Crimson Cake were all moist, not too sweet and in all honesty we had a hard time choosing our favorite for our Wedding Day. Alicia at Crimson Cake is exceptional at what she creates. She's a true artist and a wonderful baker. Like any true artist you might encounter a few quirks with Alicia. She's curt, speaks matter-of-factly, is no nonsense and sometimes can come off as cold. But her results speak for themselves. She only responds to inquiries Sundays and Mondays. This was not a surprise as she is up front about her time but if I sent an email on Tuesday requesting additional information I had to wait till the following Sunday for a reply. Again, she was fully transparent with this policy Her reviews do not lie. If you need a cake to add to your Event and want your guests impressed then give your business to Crimson Cake and Alicia. Ordered a very specific cake at my son's request. It came out beautifully. Everyone is asking where I got it from! Furthermore, my son picked flavors I was not a typical fan of. Confetti and strawberry. All the adults were like "Meh" but then we tried it and it was absolutely delicious! How they made a typical kid cake taste luxurious is beyond me! Amazing cake shop found through Yelp! We had a change in plans for a birthday celebration and needed a last minute birthday cake. Yelp and The Crimson Cake came to the rescue with a beautiful cake that our daughter absolutely loved! The Crimson cake has a handful of ready made cakes, cupcakes and macarons for anyone who didn't pre-order (like us). There cakes in the showcase were elegantly decorated. After asking about flavors, the owner mentioned additional cakes that weren't yet decorated and in the refrigerator. We chose a pistachio cake with raspberry and crème filling because it was different. Because it hadn't been decorated, the owner baker asked us about the occasion and began decorating it on the spot. She was super quick and the cake had this simple, beautiful elegance. The birthday celebrant loved, loved, loved the the look of the cake and let's just say that the cake was SUPER delicious!!! If you like pistachio, it makes for a very tasty cake and the raspberries give it a yummy tart and juicy contrast. We're not fans of super sweet icing and really appreciated the mild buttercream frosting. When we're in the area again, we'll be finding a reason to celebrate with another cake! read more

First I just want to say how absolutely DELICIOUS the cupcakes were! We hired The Crimson Cake to make wedding cupcakes and Alicia did an amazing job!! We had such a hard time finding a company to make the cupcakes for our wedding, everywhere we tasted the cake always was very dry. Being a big "sweets" person I really wanted a moist cupcake with delicious flavors and Alicia made just that!! One of our guests even said it was the best cupcake cake they ever had. I'm not going to lie, the day after the wedding we had a few leftover and I ate 3 on my own! So yummy!! Thank you Alicia!! read more

The cake was gorgeous! Don't get me wrong. Which is why I am giving two stars....But the taste was terrible. We had leftovers and i didn't want any of it after my first piece. We threw away most of cake. And then on top of that the customer service was terrible. During our email interactions I felt like I was bothering her. And then I took it as maybe I was mistaking it for just her being busy. But then when I went to store to pickup cake. She was again very rude and short with me. Then as I was waiting on my cake I watched her be very rude and short with others getting Cakes and/or requesting cakes. It was honestly insane to see someone treat PAYING customers like that. So rudely and like we were all irritating/bothering her. It was sad. I will not be back. That's for sure! read more

My husband's parents celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary over the Memorial Day holiday weekend in Oceanside and my husband and I wanted to surprise them with a cake in the style of their original wedding cake. We don't live in Northern California and it's always nerve-wracking working with a vendor that is not local to where you are. However, working with Alicia was super easy! I called her first to ask her a few questions and then all I had to do was put the details of what I was looking for in an email and included the photos I wanted to use and that was it. One of the photos was of the original wedding cake and we discussed what elements she could incorporate. I was also looking to get a few pictures from their wedding day printed and added to the cake somehow. Originally, I was thinking just 1 picture, but when I spoke to Alicia on the phone, she directed me to a picture in her gallery on the website where she did multiple pictures on a cake. I really liked it and decided to go that direction. Handling payment was also super easy. She sent me an invoice and over email and everything was handled digitally. When my husband and I went to go pick up the cake, I was really excited to see the finished product and it DID NOT DISAPPOINT! It was absolutely beautiful and exceeded my expectations. My husband's parents were amazed when we surprised them with it that weekend. Everyone loved the printed pictures from their wedding day, how the cake was decorated, and of course the cake itself! Exceeded my expectations!! I ordered a cake for my wedding from Alicia and OMGGGGGG!!!! I'm honestly not a big dessert person but obviously I wanted a cake that tasted great for my wedding, well let's just say this place made me into a dessert person. Everything about it was amazing! It looked exactly how I pictured it. And the taste, I had dozens of people come up to me at the wedding and tell me how amazing it tasted. We did two flavors, vanilla caramel on the bottom and pistachio raspberry on the smaller top tier. She supplied the succulents which were so cute. I gave Alicia some inspiration pics so she had an idea of what I wanted. I bought the cake topper on Etsy. Alicia delivered my cake the day of the wedding to the reception venue. My husband was so happy when I surprised him with his birthday cake. He couldn't believe how awesome it was. $30 dollars for a surfer themed smash cake and $15 for a dozen variety flavor cupcakes. The cake was a mix of 2 cake flavor options: vanilla cake with vanilla custard soaked in caramel. The cake was so moist and fresh, while the icing was perfectly sweetened and buttery. The cupcake flavors were strawberry pistachio, tiramisu, carrot cake and red velvet. All flavors were beautifully decorated and delicious. We enjoyed everything! I loved how nothing was overly sweet, but sweet enough. The quality of ingredients and artistry, justify the price. One look and bite and you absolutely KNOW it is not from a Vons bakery. My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed his cake and cupcakes. We will definitely be back for more. read more

Alicia did an amazing job. I've never been into the shop and I ordered a ton of stuff for my daughter's wedding from afar. She did not disappoint, Everything was absolutely beautiful and tasted amazing. I ordered too much as per usual and we were all able to snack on the delicious desserts she made for a couple of days at the hotel after the wedding. I would recommend her 100 times over. She actually cares and puts effort into the details. Make sure you pick up the phone and call her and chat about what you want, but let's be clear, she actually does the most amazing delicious job. read more

Wow. Just wow. Alicia really outdid herself with what had to be one of the stranger cake requests she's received -- a mash-up of volleyball and rhinos! It came out sooooo well, and -- as usual -- it was also delicious! In addition, Alicia is super responsive and helpful. I highly recommend The Crimson Cake -- it is well worth the drive from Carmel Valley to Oceanside. Our family will continue to go to Alicia for years to come! read more

I threw a "funeral for my youth" for my 30th birthday and wanted a black gothic vintage cake with buttercream. Honestly I was kind of nervous because I didnt really see any photos of a cake like this at any of the cake places in North County area including this one, but the Crimson Cake DELIVERED. It was absolutely gorgeous!! And to top things off, when we cut into the cake we were surprised to find that the inside was also black!! Incredible, and so delicious. Crimson Cake is the best! I arrived in need of a dairy free cake and I thought there would be one available to grab and go. Unfortunately, there was not, but Alicia came to the rescue and whipped up a dairy free cake in minutes! It was a quick, thoughtful, and creative solution to meet the needs of my girlfriend's birthday cake! I highly recommend Crimson Cake, not only for the beautiful cakes and variety in gluten-free and dairy-free cakes, but for the creativity and willingness of Alicia to meet the needs of her customers (in my case, on the fly!). read more

It surely was a beautiful Cake and I was so excited to taste the cake...but it was a big disappointment after I cut it. It was just thick layers of butter with thin layers of chocolate cake mix...not much taste to it. read more

The Crimson Cake has been baking up delicious, cakes and desserts since 2010. Our business began operations within a few, shared kitchen spaces and then moved to our own cake decorating studio , within Oceanside Commercial Kitchen. As of August , 2023 we will be moving into our own bakery space and hope to see all of our returning customers and new faces in September.

Meet the Business Owner: Alicia P.

Alicia graduated Scottsdale Culinary Institute in 1999 and spent the next decade honing her baking and cake decorating skills in Boston and North County San Diego. After several years in hotel pastry shops and running a small cake business part time, in 2010 Alicia started on her full time cake venture called "The Crimson Cake". We were then given our individual towers/ tea tiers which consisted of three sandwiches (smoked salmon pinwheels, apple Brie melt, and Prosciutto, Feta And Balsamic Fig Sandwich) of our choosing, a cranberry orange cake scone with creme Fraîche and strawberry preserves, and a trio of desserts (lemon cake with blueberries, petite four, and a rosemary shortbread). I honestly loved everything I ordered. I loved the cake scone as it was very moist and the sandwiches were all divine with powerful flavors in each bite. Alicia has absolutely mastered the SWEET side of special celebrations. Her masterfully crafted cakes, deliciously unique cupcakes and other various sweet treats are always a hit with event attendees. This is not your run of the mill bakery... so much heart goes into each of her orders and the pricing is excellent! Everything we've ever gotten from Crimson Cake is more than we could have ever dreamed up or hoped for. Wow!!! I have to thank The Crimson Cake so much for the cake they made us. Everyone was raving about it at our party and I've even had some people who saw pictures of the cake (i.e. not at the party) ask for the baker's information, as well. Stunningly lovely I was seeking for a bakery for my sister's birthday at the last minute and was delighted to find this small, charming establishment. The proprietor was a lovely young lady who assisted me in selecting the perfect dessert for my sister. She took a freshly cooked cake and decorated it in front of my eyes in less than 5 minutes. I'm blown away by how inventive this lady is. I like how gorgeous the cake is and how it is made fresh to order. Will definitely return and refer to others. read more

I have never left a review on Yelp but in this case I just had to. The Crimson cake did an extraordinary job on my husband's promotion cake. It not only looked stunning but tasted fantastic!!
