I just tried this place for the first time. Easy to find as I pulled off of I5 and once I was there and ordering I was so glad I chose it! I had the deluxe combo, and everything was great. The person with me had the xtra cheeseburger combo with hand cut fries and the burger and fries were awesome. Everything was super fresh, fast, delicious, served with a smile. Love this place. Just a small walk up burger joint, but it's fast, inexpensive, and tasty. Always stop for a burger and fries when we're in Mt. Vernon. Their crinkle cut fries are always very crispy and you get a huge amount for a small order. They have the best tartar sauce around. I used to go to The Net, but they've gone downhill over the years. Where do I start? The food is absolutely delicious, the wait time is shorter then practically anywhere I have been and the owner is an absolute gem. I don't live around Mount Vernon anymore but still make sure to stop by when I do. The owner knows all the regulars on a first name basis and is seriously so sweet. A friend of mine used to work here for over a year and he was always surprised how meticulously clean the staff was required to keep the cooking area off of the owners instructions. Best fish burger in town. Not all dried up and it is a good thick piece of fish with plenty of tomato and tartar. Staff works hard and is friendly and it is affordable. and they are fast so if you are in a bit of a hurry they can get it done for you, unless it is around noon, then there is a line up so you should call in your order. This place had a tasty burger. I ordered the Monster Burger which has three patties, lettuce, tomatoe, and a good tasty sauce. Fairly sized burger thats seasoned to perfection and should fill ya up. This place reminds me a lot of "The Net" drive-in which was also good, but definitley not as good as this place. This was similar in way that there's some nice outdoor seating, and the overall style of the burger and fries. If you get a large order of fries here, they sure as heck live up to it. You'll get a massive stack of fries that come out with the burger. Along with the fries and burger I ordered the "Irish Cream" milkshake which was outstanding, tastes like a vanilla wafer. This burger joint successfully fulfills how a burger should look and taste. The portion of the fries and the quality of the shakes are on the higher end of the scale without a doubt. One last positive mention i should give this place is their service. Very fast service and we got our burgers in about 10 minutes even when they were preparing for a huge to go order for a group. This classic little hamburger stand has been a staple in the southside of Mount Vernon for well over 50 years. It is still popular for lunch, but fails to live up to its storied past. The burgers are uninspired with paper thin frozen patties and substandard toppings. The french fries are food service bargain crinkle cuts. Only the milkshakes and ice cream are excellent. My boyfriend and I love going here. I really love there mushroom burger was fantastic!!! My boyfriend loved there plain burgers with a add on of bacon. We both like there corn dogs. We are in LOVE with there waffle fries.There curly fries are also good but we really love the waffle. We love getting there peanut butter milk shakes. They are the perfect consistency. Dari Delight is one of the old style hole in the wall burger places that's off the beaten path, and has the reputation of being delicious! This is one of our favorite burger places! You can eat in your car or they have a couple of picnic tables at the back of their parking area. You park anywhere on the outer area of their driveway that wraps around their building, and walk up to the front of the little building to place your order. If they see what car you are sitting in within view of the front and part side front of their building, they will wave at you to let you know your order is ready. Some ppl stand at front of building waiting for their food. It's cooked fresh! All of their sauces are good, I love their mozzarella sticks too, and get a shake, they are delicious also! We drive a ways from down south to enjoy the drive and eat there. The experience is well worth it. Come with an appetite, you will never leave hungry! We are headed there in a few minutes! read more

Yummy, super delish chicken sandwich with an incredible amount of avocado slices. Sandwich also had lettuce, tomato and pickles. It was very filling after a busy day. I only have 1 complainant-there was only one napkin in my bag. This was a many napkin kind of sandwich. Luckily, I had a kitchen towel in my car! Service was very quick and very friendly. With the advent of spring and summer (or cruising weather time) I felt it was appropriate to chime in on the humble Dari-Delight. Buried amongst the homes and small businesses in Mount Vernon don't be surprised if you may have passed by this dive without even a second thought. This spot in my opinion warrants a look because it tries to cater to everybody, Dari-Delight has a huge menu but capable (and uber friendly) enough staff to execute on a level that is at worst "meh" and at best "okay". Sticking to what I know their Burgers are average in that there is nothing special about the components, you could even make the case that they are store bought but the preparation is spot on starting with a "lightly" toasted bun, tender and juicy patty with properly melted cheese and ending in a lovingly named "goop" sauce that while underwhelming is a fair substitution for mayo. To really appreciate Dari-Delight I highly recommend their shakes and while I can't say for sure if they get the dairy from the cow fresh every morning or from the grocery store I will stand by their rich/creamy taste (I like a shake that is so thick your lips are sore afterwards from putting in the work) plus they have never been shy with the toppings which I can appreciate. I could see Dari-Delight not being for everybody and strong arguments could be made for a lower score but what this spot lacks in superior quality and presentation it makes up for in consistency, charm (dat goop sauce), friendly service and low price tag. I am also a sucker for drive-ins which can affect scoring :) read more

This small burger joint is definitely the best place in Mount Vernon to get anything that they provide on their menu. The shakes are fantastic, and the service is good. You get your food fairly quickly considering how good it is. The Fish and Chips are amazing; as well as, their Ham-Dog burger. Who would have thought...a hot dog on top of a beef patty would be good. They're open from 11:00 or so to 6 every day which is really convenient for lunch and/or dinner. read more
