We used to come here all the time, but the manager at the time was rude and didn't listen to constructive criticism about how to properly scramble eggs. So, fast forward two years or so, we decided to give it another shot. It appears the place is under new management and is running like a well-oiled machine. Scrambled eggs are more like scrambled eggs rather than mixed eggs left to fry in a pan. I've always been a fan of their huevos rancheros (eggs over medium, add avocado, choose potatoes). I never even look at their menu for anything else. I'm glad this place has improved from how it was being managed before. That lady seems to be gone, thank goodness. The only thing that didn't earn the fifth star was service. Our server today was loud, a little off-putting, and had to be corrected/reminded of our orders. We'll be back, though. Went here during a visit to Denver. The portions were huge and the food and service were very good. They allowed our party of 11 to make a reservation, which we appreciated because it a very popular place. On a brisk Sunday morning, I ventured out to spot out a new breakfast location. I happened to find this place tucked inside a strip mall type shopping center and decided to give it a try. Upon entering we were greeted by a smiling face that was happy to seat us right away. After a few moments of perusing the menu I went with my usual breakfast meal of the Eggs Benedict. No more than a few minutes after our order was taken, the food arrived. My food was both pleasing to the eye as it was to my palate. The place is cute. But they need to change their service. Very poor. Had four teenagers running the front who weren't paying attention to the tables being cleaned and were mostly talking amongst themselves. 12 minute wait turned to 30, although I will say we went on a Sunday which the wait time is to be expected but because they were not paying attention our wait time grew. Another thing I noticed there were only two people bussing down tables on a very busy day, may I add they were also people of color. It rubbed me the wrong way as these teens could've been split up to help clean tables to get the lines moving. I watched three tables become available and they still managed to give me a table that was barely wiped down with crumbs on the seats and under the table. The waitress was okay. Seemed to be having an attitude and rarely checked on us, no smile and a half heart hello. Only came up to us when ordering food, and to give us the check. While I watched her greet and speak to other customers literally 3ft from us... not sure if it was the color of our skin or if she was just having a day, but did not surprise me because of what I saw in the beginning when waiting for a table. The food was bland. I ordered the Mexicana and it had no seasoning one sausage in it, avocado, covered in tomato sauce and some sour cream. Hash browns looked like they were just warmed up as they had no color to them. Not worth the amount of time I spent there. How can you mess up breakfast? Go here for the answer. Our server had attitude...when I asked her if they had gluten free bread options, she said 'yes'. I waited for her to clarify and when she didn't I asked what the options were and she threw a hand out and said 'bread'. Gluten free has come a long way and you can get sliced bread, english muffins and even gluten free bagels now. I asked further and it was sliced bread. It's fine and I ordered some gluten free toast with my sausage and cheese omelet. The food arrived to our table with surprising speed and with the first bite I knew why. I had to ask for butter and jelly for the toast which had a tangy taste. They apparently use subpar already prepared ingredients and it tasted like it. My husband had a hard time cutting through the tortilla under his huevos. Their coffee tasted burned but there was plenty of it as she left the pot on the table and didn't come back until we asked for the check. One bite of toast and three bites of the omelet and she didn't care to ask about it. I would not go back here and would not recommend it to anyone. I would like to say that the other staff seemed friendly but unfortunately we didn't get to experience that service. read more
