Excellent service, waitress was attentive and very nice. My brother's omelette was very good. Fried potatoes were good on both plates. My over easy eggs one was over medium, the other was over hard. I got bacon and eggs and it is the first time I have ever been served bacon and eggs with only one slice of bacon. Serving size of potatoes was small. not a good review (unfortunately ) the menu sounded appetizing, i just didn't get to try the food due to poor service. my partner and i, are visibly gay and saw two parties that came in after us get their food served before us. we just ordered a salad and a regular breakfast plate. it was a very unfortunate experience to feel excluded by such a promising place. the manager offered to give us our food to go which wasn't ill intended, but added to our sentiment of exclusion after sharing our experience with her. if you're queer, i wouldn't recommend this space--it's not safe. read more

The ambiance was good, the patio was neat and clean. The toast was very flavorful, reminded me of a sope. The salsa was fire! Yummy but super spicy. Pressed juice was great, fries had a perfect crisp and patio is pet friendly. The one bad thing was the burger said grilled onions but they were raw when it came.The service was good kept coming back to check back on us. Great service and the food is delicious! Guillermo has done a wonderful job serving us the last few times and has helped make our experience eating at The District Cafe amazing. We did have an issue on a busy brunch one Sunday but Guillermo and the rest of the team definitely made up for it. We appreciate all the vegan options and we hope to see some of the old options back! The vegan burger and Not McMuffins are always delicious. The outdoor space is fun and comfortable. Definitely our go to weekend brunch spot! read more

This is my second time here since the concept switch from Vida. First time, eh wasn't that great. Decided a second chance but for takeout. Ordered the Vegan Breakfast Burrito with country potatoes. Sounded amazing but the looks of it, wasn't so great. Not exactly what the menu described because my burrito was not it. There was no tofu scramble instead chunks of tofu. No salsa in the burrito as the menu stated, not even salsa on the side. The burrito looked a mess and tasted bad. Not worth a $17 burrito. Will not go back or recommend this place. Recently went to The District Cafe for the first time for breakfast. I going to order the New York strip steak or chicken fried steak and I asked the waitress what she thought and she recommended the chicken fried steak with country potatoes. Every time I go to a new restaurant for breakfast I always order the chicken fried steak that's my gold standard. I don't like giving negative reviews but the food was so awful it was the worst chicken fried steak breakfast I've had ever. I don't know if it's a new cook in the morning or what's going on. Apparently it comes with biscuits and gravy and when they brought out my order the biscuits were inedible absolutely horrible. The country gravy wasn't much better and the country fried potatoes were parboiled very soft and texture and didn't even look like they had been fried. I ordered scrambled eggs and what I got look like maybe one egg a scrambled into tiny little pieces who does that anymore? I asked the waitress for some ketchup and she brought me this little cup that maybe had two tablespoons of ketchup in it. If you've ever had chicken fried steak you know it's been tenderized coated in a breading and then fried. First couple of bites of the chicken fried steak were edible but as I continue to chew my way through the chicken fried steak became obvious was very tough and chewy and I was almost unable to swallow. Ended up bringing the leftovers home and feeding it to the animals. I got there about 9:30 a.m. in the middle of the week there were no cars there but mine I was the only person in there. That's not a good sign I don't know if it's the person doing the cooking or the quality of the food they're using but it was absolutely horrible. First time coming. We ordered the cinna French toast with scrambled eggs and country potatoes. The country potatoes were almost chalky so maybe try out one of their other potato options. Scrambled eggs were cooked perfectly (not overcooked). Bacon was nice and crispy. Cinnamon French toast-good idea but I would probably do either or next time-just get a regular cinnamon roll tbh. My partner had the chicken and waffles. Chicken was crispy and you honestly get a lot of food for the price (1 big waffle, fried chicken, eggs, choice of potatoes, and bacon for $16). We also tried the mimosa sampler (3 for $10)-did not disappoint. Only downside was the service. Waitress did not check on us or refill our waters (mind you we waited around 40 minutes for our food). It was busy so we'll give her some grace. When she came by with our food, we were able to grab her attention for a second to ask her for another water cup since the one given was dirty (food flakes found in the water). She didn't give us another second to be able to ask for condiments. We wanted to order an additional item, we tried to get her attention but no luck. Eventually my partner just went up to her when we noticed our waitress was at the cash register. The decor is nice, lots of plants (which means little gnats and flies especially around the windows)-because it was busy, I'm assuming the constant door opening makes it easy for flies to sneak in. I would recommend the owner to look into fly control-nothing crazy but something to look into since summer is right around the corner. Overall, food is good, menu has lots of variety, and they have both indoor and outdoor dining areas. We liked this spot and wish it success. read more

10/10 presentation Boyfriend and I went in for a lunch date , he got the hot honey chicken sandwich looked delicious as soon as waiter put plate down you can smell the oil like it was old and a fishy smell. Once he bit into he stated it tasted so fishy he just ate it and once finished he just couldn't with the smell anymore he had to go bathroom to puke out sorry TMI. My salad was good just not enough ranch for a salad. I like that the restaurant is veteran owned. It's always nice to support those who have served. The overall vibe of the restaurant is modern, comfortable, and clean. Could easily be a nice brunch date spot or great cafe to meet up with family after church. The servers are accommodating and helpful with meeting the needs of everyone including any little ones regardless of how busy staff may be. Always lovely to find a family friendly environment that isn't a chain. There's indoor and outdoor seating. The portions are generous and the food is excellent. I recommend the heavy duty omelette and caramel iced coffee. Very filling. All omelettes can be made into burritos which awesome if you're on the go. The Vida juice dry has the best cold pressed juices in town. The garlic fries were top notch. Customer service was good! Atmosphere was good. Menu is big. I got the happy hour smash burger which was the only subpar part of my meal. The patty was well seasoned however the burger was very soggy and over sauced. They didn't toast the bun so it just turns to mush because of the soft bread. The patty was perfect thickness however the size of the patty was kind of small compared to the size of bun. Overall definitely worth coming back to they have so many other things on their menu that would be good to try. read more

My husband ordered a pick up order on Wednesday at about 11:30/11:45am at this location. When he came home w the food I could tell something was wrong. He had told me that the person that took his order was rude to him. He said when he first called she was very quick & short with him. Asking him, "Is that all?" in a rude tone repeatedly after he was telling her what he'd like. He left it at first assuming maybe it was busy or tried to make an excuse for her behavior. When he got there she continued being rude. My husband is not a confrontational or rude person. He's very calm and collected. When he called in for the order he asked for more butter ON THE SIDE & some utensils. We ordered TWO entrees, I got the French toast & he got the roughneck slam. We were given ONE napkin, when we opened our boxes of food we noticed the butter packets were inside one of the boxes, but were completely melted because the food was hot, & we were given just a fork. He said when he picked it up he asked her if she included the butter & all she said was "In the bag" rudely & when he asked about the utensils, she once again repeated "in the bag" rudely. I'm sorry but to me, service will make or break a business. The employee is a reflection of the business. I don't appreciate my husband getting someone's rude & unnecessary attitude for no reason. To be honest, I'm not really even sure I'd come back to this location at all if the actual service is anywhere near how this employee acted. My daughter and I had breakfast here this morning and it was really good. In order to be greeted by the hostess you have to go through the patio to get to the front door. We had went through their side door, (which did say "use the other door", we seen it after we left out the same door), lol! No big deal, because we were still greeted by 3 people. It's very cute inside. Lots of alcohol on display. Music is playing and they had cartoons on for kids. We sat at a table for 2. The chairs are fine, with a rounded metal back. The only issue is there's no where to put your purse. My daughter had their smoked Benito's, and I had their chicken fried steak with over med eyes and crispy hash browns. The breading on the steak was perfect, and the gravy was even better. The eggs were done how I liked with no runny whites and the hash browns were to my liking. The only complaint is, I didn't finish the biscuit because it needed more gravy. Remember to ask for extra gravy on the side. read more

My wife and I stopped in around 11 on a Thursday morning to try the place out. The place was clean and busy but by no means packed. Had a fairly contemporary or sleekly decorated interior. After perusing the menu, we both decided on breakfast options. She got the 'Roughneck Slam' of eggs, sausage or bacon, choice of potatoes, two pancakes and toast. I ordered the 'Breakfast Smash', described as two smashed sausage patties, caramelized onions, eggs, cheese, and a chipotle aioli along with choice of potatoes. Here were are main issues: -Her breakfast looked good, but by using a regular dinner plate, everything was piled on top of everything. A platter plate would have been better, she had to fight to keep her food from spilling onto the table. And the toast was just tossed on top of the pancakes. Adding to the dilemma, a toast plate would have been nice. -Her pancakes were served without butter, and her sourdough toast was dry. No butter was brought to the table, neither was syrup. We had to ask for both, and only two, ice-cold, foil wrapped pats of butter were brought for 4 pieces of toast and two pancakes. Usually, a dollop of whipped butter should come on top, or on the side. And it's such a shame too, as the pancakes looked really good! -I imagined my sandwich would be served double smash burger style as implied. Everything on one bun. Mine came as two individual slider style sandwiches on store bought English muffins. Fine, not a big deal. But they hardly toasted the muffin, so with the moisture from the eggs, sausage and the aioli, it turned the inside nooks and crannies into mush. And the chipotle aioli drenched the entire sandwich. I couldn't taste the sausage or cheese because the huge amount of aioli just overpowered everything. -we both got hashbrowns, mine were old, dry and so over seasoned it could have been used as a salt lick. Her's was mysteriously undercooked and almost lacking in any seasoning at all. -The service was brusk. If there was a daily soup or a daily special, we weren't offered that information. We were never asked how our food was, or even recommendations on menu items. Finally, for two adults eating breakfast with an iced tea and a soft drink, with tip was over $50. We went a little after it opened in the morning; less than 10 people present. The pancake was the best thing from my plate; had great flavor and sweetness. All versions of potatoes were stale and seemed to be reheated and not fresh. When I asked for a replacement for the hashbrowns, they had no problem taking them back. The service was prompt and friendly, and while I wasn't there long enough, the ambience was welcoming enough that I'm looking forward to planning a lunch date with friends so we could check out their patio.
