Instead, got seated behind one of those metal heating towers that wasn't even in use since it was July. Asked to be moved to one of the empty tables with a view of the lake. Was told they had pre-set the tables and we couldn't be moved. Tried to enjoy the view of the metal heating tower all through dinner as the empty tables remained empty the whole time until we left. Place was not cheap, either. If this is the kind of customer service you enjoy, The Dock is for you. As for us, we're done. read more

I was very dissapointed. Based on the photos their food looked amazing. First off, the prices are insane. It's like $16+ for a burger and fries. The inside is quite fancy which makes you think the quality of food will match the vibe and decor and price. It does not. It's like cheap bar food. The place was practically empty and had a lot of staff but we still had very long waits to even get our drink order and food. I will never go back. This place is a hidden gem. Although, we had a lengthy wait to be seated, we were immediately greeted by a friendly cocktail waitress that seated us in a cute outdoor nook and served us beverages, as we waited. Once seated, service was prompt. The waitress, Katie, was friendly and pleasant. We ordered a range of entrees from blue cheese burgers, chicken alfredo, and my favorite lobster tails. About 5 minutes later we were escorted to our outside table. We were offered a table farthest from the water view. I pointed to another table that was empty & closer to the view & she pointed to the original table and said Will this work? I pointed to another table (one next to the last table we were offered and she said okay. . If I wasn't hungry I would have left. So, we got to sit and look the empty table I wanted as we looked at our menu. You are probably thinking I should have asked to see a manager. Well, he walked by & heard the entire conversation and did not jump in. Our waitress was friendly. I had salmon on a summer salad and it was delicious. My husband had the open faced Reuben. The corned beef was top notch, the sandwich could have used more sauerkraut & dressing. The fries were crispy & yummy. I saw many great looking meals coming out to other diners. So, I would still recommend this restaurant, but would suggest you be a bit more assertive in getting the table you want if you care about your view while dining. read more

Ok so we went to the pool bar around 3pm on 8/09 the bartenders are young and have NO clue how to make drinks we got the same drinks none of them tasted the same. All they did was play on their phone most of the time so you had to wait for a drink. Then we went into the restaurant to eat just got appetizers because the prices are ridiculous for what you get. I got calamari it was so over cooked there was hardly anything left of it. I told the waitress she did not really say much at all. My family lives around the area and they warned me not to go there because it's not as good since the old owners took back over. I have to admit they were right it was one of the worst experiences I've had in a while. It's a shame because it's a nice place. They need a new chef really bad. Kind of like half the other places these people own in the area!!! She has a nasty attitude each time I visited, making disrespectful comments about being late for a reservation and especially about the food and drink. If I could give no stars I would. I ordered lobster bisque and got clam chowder. Food was cold server was terrible , we waited 20 minutes for a check that never came. We had to go ask the hostess for it. We told her what was going on and she got management involved. He did wave the check but no apology whatsoever. Our meals were left on the table so we didn't get to eat. Bottle of wine was not delivered margaritas were not salted. The evening was a disaster. Next time we will go to McDonalds. Just relocated back to the area and decided to stop in for dinner last night. Way overpriced. $20 for an average burger is a bit much, especially for that area. Food was just ok, nothing spectacular. Long wait to be seated with many empty tables which was odd. What really turned us off was our server (Troy) who failed to clear dirty plates. I cleared them myself and placed them on the tray left on the tray jack next to me! Our daughter accidentally spilled water and went all over the table, I cleaned up as much as I could. He didn't offer more napkins, another water or remove the wet napkins all over the table. In addition to lack of attention to details, we were sat very close to the server station where we could overhear servers chatting it up. Again, no big deal. We have had poor service in the restaurant area in the past from a female manager that was extremely rude. The other night we decided to try the bar area right before closing. Called multiple times over the course of 30 minutes on a Tuesday at about 5 pm. No answer. When we finally got an answer and requested to make a reservation, was put on hold for almost 10 minutes before I decided to hang up. Called back...no answer. Called back several more times and just let the phone ring for about 30 rings when a confused lady from their cottage reservation desk answered and transferred me back to the restaurant...no answer. Gave up. When we arrived we were told deck seating was a 1 hour wait or we could be seated inside immediately. We relented to be seated inside. Food was way overpriced. I got the pesto fettuccine that came with 2 shrimp and 2 scallops for...$30. Seriously? Tragically, the dish had no flavor whatsoever, was only lukewarm, and the scallops and shrimp were dry. Also, the meal was supposed to come with bread which was never served. Waitress did not clear salad plates. Just left dirty plates on the table while we ate our main course. Waitress was not attentive about drink refills and when she did come by to do so, she refilled everyone's EXCEPT mine. Though the waitress was not concerned with clearing salad plates, she was in quite a hurry to remove dinner plates...with food still on them. We were able to sit outside in the cocktail area, which is the area of the deck farthest from the lake. When she came back with our drinks, we asked if we could order appetizers to hold us over until dinner. Unfortunately, The Dock has a policy of no food in the cocktail area. This is such a WEIRD and frankly UNSAFE policy! NO FOOD!? That is a sure fire way to get people drunk too quickly and is just irresponsible. Not even peanuts and pretzels are permitted (which is what the waitress said). This is a horrible business practice. Ever heard of Dram Shop? Hopefully the managers/owners read this and will create some sort of bar menu or at least permit appetizers to be ordered in the cocktail area. Because we wanted/needed to eat something, we put our names in for an actual table outside. After about 20 minutes, since it was busy, we were seated at a real table. We had already scoped out the menu, and figured the "Nachos Libre" would be a good sized appetizer ($9.50) to share amongst the 5 of us. We also added the chicken for an extra $4.95. This was NOT what one would consider nachos. I will post a photo. It was a plate of tortilla chips, with small chicken pieces sprinkled on top, along with 5 dipping sauces and a cup of "nacho cheese". Not your typical nacho cheese, it tasted like it was bean based. It was completely underwhelming, and really disappointing. It tasted ok, but was not what anyone I know would consider "nachos." It should be advertised as tortilla chips with dips. Also, $15 for what we got, was really excessive. The new outdoor section is awesome and has a great ambiance. The service was great. There is A LOT of potential for this place, and based on our experience it just requires some minor policy changes and menu description edits. We will most likely come back, but probably not until next summer so they can work out the kinks. The rating: I polled the 5 of us in our party, and our average rating was 1.4. My fiancé and I sat at the bar to eat, drink, and listen to the live band, Rare Form (who, by the way, was amazing!) Sonja was the bartender that took care of us and she helped us choose the Steamed Clams in the BLT broth as an appetizer which was a great decision - it was so delicious! The "donuts" on the appetizer list are FANTASTIC! They're actually crabcake-ish hush puppies that are out of this world! I've been here twice since the new management took over and the sandwiches (all I've had except for the appetizer mentioned above) have been good and nice-sized. The waitstaff tend to be all college-age kids on summer break, but they're friendly and competent. I'm not sure why this place is getting bad ratings except it's probably happening on weekends when everywhere at the lake is mobbed. Try it on a weekday....I've been quite happy there. The dock has nice atmosphere for dinner or even lunch. It's nice to pull up the boat and watch the sun go down. However my drink was a little bit harder to put down as it was 15 dollars each. I don't pay 15 for a martini in NYC. This is PA and should have PA prices. The food is ok. If you want something fried or your typical bar food it's not a bad place to eat. If you wander past the fries and wings you're taking a bit of a risk. The random odors of sewage outside didn't help things either. read more
