Still a New Orleans Gem - Visitor since 2018!…read more I'm updating my review as of April 2026 because it's important for visitors to know that The Vintage has absolutely "still got it." My last review was in 2020, and I'm happy to report that the quality and atmosphere remain top notch. Whether you are looking for a morning pick up or an evening wind-down, this spot covers all the bases. Their beignets and coffee are a classic must have, and I can personally vouch for their Americano. It is consistently well made and delicious. They also have a great selection of beer and cocktails if you're looking for something a bit stronger. What really sets this place apart, though, is the hospitality. We have always had great interactions with the staff, but a special shout out goes to Jimmy, whom we met this past week. He was incredibly kind and hospitable, truly making us feel right at home. Jimmy if you are reading this, THANK YOU!! If you want a spot that feels authentic, welcoming, and consistently excellent, put The Vintage at the top of your list!

The menu has many choices. I ordered the firecracker shrimp with side arugula salad. The shrimp was yummy the salad too but expected more on the salad maybe cucumber or tomatoes over all for just having cheese on Arugula with dressing was ok. I paired it with the shrimp and it was tasty! According to the hop on/off bus the beignets & champagne are the hit at this cafe. The bartender made a wonderful cocktail with champagne & it was delicious! The spot is dog friendly & in a cute little restaurant/bar row & shops area.

It truly feels like you are stepping back into a time gone past when you find your way into this establishment. Cafe Du Monde is broken up into two distinct environments. One is its interior seating area. It's fine in there if you want to get out of the elements. My choice is the exterior seating area, however. There is just something great about having coffee and a beignet while sitting outside and embracing the weather that New Orleans in known for. It's a fully covered space, so you don't have to worry about getting wet, if it is raining, or anything like that. It is just so much fun to sit there and embrace the day. The way this place works is that if you see a table, you just go and sit at that table. No waiting to be seated required. Once there, one of the staff will quickly come to take your order. They have a limited menu, so ordering is easy. Cash only please! Some of the staff are truly unique individuals. The last time I was there, I had an elder lady, of Chinese descent, helping me. She could barely communicate in English. Luckily, my Mandarin was good enough for us to place or order. Though Mandarin was not her native dialect, we did, none-the-less, communicate. That was an experience. How she helped out the other customers is anyone's guess. I'm just saying, some of the staff at Cafe Du Monde are truly unique individuals. Overall, if you in NOLA, you must go here. It's a fun experience.

Ode to the Loaf and the Golden Fields On golden paths, where…read moreyellow beams ignite A tapestry of sun, I walk alone, Each footstep scented faintly with delight, For nearby, on Oak Street, warmth is sown: At Breads on Oak, a miracle is grown. Here wheat fields bow, their gilded spines resigned, Transformed by hands into a living dough, Wild yeast and patience, earth and sky combined, A tang of hope, an oven's gentle glow; Each loaf a testament to all we sow. This bread, crackling crust and airy, sour-sweet, Is more than sustenance; it is a prayer For all who gather, breaking bread to greet The morning light, and taste the love baked there; A grace that rises softly through the air. Yet one delight eludes my hungry heart: The one for whom my eager soul is yearning. I call to the Creator, source of every part, Their absence stains the loaf, the fields, the burning Of longing that the rising sun keeps turning. Grant me solace, Creator, as seasons spin. Above, within the ancient oaks outside, Two yellow birds in sunlit rapture sing, Echoing the baker's joy, the pride Of daily blessings, simple, sanctified. While I, earthbound, savor crust and spring, Trusting the Creator will one day lift my wing. Why do they sing so bright, so unafraid? Perhaps their hope is kneaded by the Creator's hand, While I, with all this gold and bread, remain unswayed. Hillel Yisroel (Albert) Canalizo

They heated up the savory pastry, which I appreciate. The coffee was good too and not burnt or sour. I loved that they had bread samples too, I would def buy a loaf of olive bread. Has WiFi and about 3-4 tables. Pretty small place inside. Has some outdoor seating. Overall, I'd come back for a quick bite or catch up with a friend. Parking: free limited on street

Though pop-up showers were still lingering, my husband and I decided to take a gamble on courtyard dining--and I am so glad we did! Sheltered under the green umbrellas surrounded by historic brick walls, lush greenery, and rain-kissed citrus trees, the atmosphere was incredibly romantic and peaceful. The courtyard's intimate layout even brought a bit of extra magic to our evening. We sat near another wonderful couple (and their adorable daughter) and became fast friends, sharing laughs and conversation throughout the night. What truly anchored the experience, though, was the incredible service. The staff was remarkably personable, helpful, and welcoming. The dinner itself was excellent from start to finish, showcasing immense culinary skill across every dish. We started with the delicious brussels sprouts and a uniquely seasoned spring/summer gumbo that was unlike any version we've had before (oh, what I would give for the recipe). As for the entrées, the shrimp and grits were phenomenal, and the blackened catfish sandwich with a fresh salad was executed flawlessly...and the bread pudding was fantastic, too! It is rare to find an experience where top-tier hospitality, a breathtaking environment, and great food come together so (seemingly) effortlessly. Café Amélie is an absolute must-visit! We will be back.
