The ambience was so relaxing, watching and listening to the waves crack in the ocean. It is definitely an "old world" Florida establishment. Dune Deck is one of my go to breakfast spots in Palm Beach during an annual winter trip to visit family in the area. Number of selling points: 1. Can't beat the beautiful ocean view on a sunny morning while enjoying a coffee 2. Food quality is consistently good and ample size servings. 3. Good customer service 4. Great to see they've finally started taking credit cards! They needed to catch up with the times and realize most people don't carry cash and gain to many points benefits using their credit cards. The Negatives The menu has remained static for years and don't offer a wide array of healthier options. Recommend adding an Acai Bowl with fresh fruit and similar options. read more

Had breakfast here yesterday. Terrific view of the ocean, was a beautiful day for it. The drinks were strong, which is a definite plus. Usually you wonder at some places if they even use alcohol. They don't skimp here. It was a nice atmosphere for a relaxing breakfast. Staff was accommodating and attentive. Food was good. I had the lobster Benedict with hash brown casserole and my boyfriend, the chicken and waffles. The chicken comes in a flat white meat breaded portion vs a chicken quarter. The butter they used for the waffle was very different and we couldn't quite put our finger on the flavoring but our waitress said it was a Tabasco flavor perhaps but I love tobacco but still couldn't place it. We tasted the reddish looking design on the plate and although we thought it would be of a berry flavor, ended up being a ketchup tasting concoction which I thought a bit strange for the dish. One of my eggs on the Benedict was cooked through a bit more than it should have been for a Benedict dish but it was ok with me. Still a good dish. You'll get more lobster however with the lobster roll. They accept cash only but have as ATM on site for everyone. You must use the beach bathrooms but hey, you ARE at the beach. There's a little platform to take in the beauty of that but not much beachfront to be had anymore. Shame to see since I grew up in Lantana and remember playing in the sand when young, often. Erosion has definitely changed that but nice spot to start off a beautiful day. You must pay for parking too but it's about $2.00 an hour unless you have a town resident beach decal sticker but you can pay by the minute too and can add time on your phone with the app. We just figured 2 hours and we prob could have gotten away with 1.5 but we also got there early, before 9 but as we were leaving it was starting to fill up. This is a great spot on the beach hidden by the public parking lot and next to the Eau Palm Beach! The specials were impressive and I chose the octopus salad off the menu. It was large portion of grilled octopus prepared perfectly. Add a side of pita and some of the best tzatziki sauce I've tasted and I will be back! My companions both order eggs benedict - one lobster and one short rib. All accounts were yum! Particularly tasty was the potato casserole on the side. I had a fruit salad(parfait I think they called it) I didnt want anything to heavy since I was going to be sitting on the beach in the heat. Love the food here! First of all, you're eating by the ocean so who could complain about that?? Second, the food is amazing! We ordered for breakfast and the florentine omelette was perfectly seasoned, potatoes were crispy on the outside and moist on the inside, chicken and waffles came with a pumpkin butter which just elevated the flavor! This is my first time coming to this place. It was a beautiful sunny day at the beach. For a holiday Monday it was pretty busy. We were quickly seated which was nice. When coming to this place it's a cash only, however there is an atm on the property which will cost an additional $3 service fee... this isn't including any fees the bank might charge. The service and food was good. I do feel it's a little overpriced for what we got, but I'd come back to try something other than breakfast. I don't know why but I've been here 4 times over the years and never had a great experience. I've always enjoyed the San Diego Benedict and I should've stuck with what I know. I have been wanting pancakes and I ordered them plain no chips or blueberries. They are nice sized but that's it. They had a slight crisp to them and they just tasted off. I ate like 1/2 of one pancake and gave up and pushed the plate to the side. The Crispy bacon I ordered was perfect. Our server never came to check on us or ask if anything was wrong which I would have told her. I had to sit there and wait while my friend polished off her yummy Nova Benedict. It's super hot here in the summer. The fans just do not cut it and the birds are very aggressive stealing sweet n low and butter from empty tables on our visit. One was super loud and a server tried to clap it away. Overall still not impressed wth this place. read more

Right by the beach on Lantana Municipal beach park, so you have to pay $1.5 per hour which is not terrible but you better have luck to find parking because beach goers take over. 1 star for being ocean front and 1 star for the quantity of food. First the only parking seems to be a paid public lot which at the time of this review was $1.50/hour 24/7. Not a big deal but if you want to check out the place to see if it's packed etc you will have to pay to park or drop someone off to go check it out as you can't see it from the parking. Once we get there and are seated the first thing I noticed is all over the menu it says "CASH ONLY". Honestly, I would not have come had I known that. I don't carry around cash. Even if the place had been great, that alone is enough for me to not return as I don't feel like having to see if I have cash or having to go to an ATM just to get some lunch. However we had driven a bit of a way to come here and we already paid parking for a couple hours and between the two of us we had enough cash so we decided to stay. I was hoping given the credit card fees they are saving the prices would be good. No such luck. Pricing was high, but typical of other places on the beach. Domestic beers were $6 and a mojito was like $15 which seemed a bit excessive to me. I saw some menu pictures on here where it was $10 so they must be upping prices. They also don't list prices on their online menu. We had the coconut shrimp appetizer and we both had fish sandwiches. The shrimp was good, but you got 5 shrimp and it was like $18-19. The sandwiches were fine. They did give you a good amount of fish, however mine which I ordered grilled was completely flavorless. I'm not sure they seasoned that fish at all. I put salt, lemon, tater sauce and it was still pretty bland. My girlfriend got hers blackend and she said it had a bit more flavor than mine. Anyways overall the food was ok. Maybe 3 stars on the food we ate, but due to the high prices and cash only, it's not somewhere we would return. Much better waterfront options all of which take cards. read more

This was our first time to Dune Deck. We spotted it last year in the evening and vowed to return. If you are looking for fine dining at brunch go else where. This spot right on the ocean is more of a dive vibe then high class but the food is fantastic. Bar area is small but grab a Bloody Mary while you wait for a table and enjoy the ocean view complete with surfers. There are a ton of Benedict options, portobello is always a hit for me, but the potatoes that come with the egg breakfasts are great. Dogs seem to be allowed as I saw one in a stroller. It gets crowded around 11-12 so be prepared to wait but they turn tables quickly. read more

Dune Deck Cafe is a hidden restaurant located on the beach in Lantana. It cannot be seen from the street and has no sign yet, they are always absolutely packed. There is either table or bar seating. I personally love sitting at the bar overlooking the water if you can snag a spot. It's perfect for sipping on mimosas while doing a bit of people watching. I am mesmerized watching the turquoise waves pounding against the sun-soaked sandy beach. Eating at the Dune Deck is a tranquil experience with great food to satisfy the pallet as well. I make it a point to come here off season. Otherwise, it is a zoo if you even get a table. Today we came during the Christmas shopping season. Turns out to be another great time to come. We were seated right away and there weren't loads of people. We even had no trouble parking. The only other negative about this restaurant is that they only accept cash. Our food came very quickly. We had the Holiday French Toast. It was French Toast made out of some thick bread, probably Italian, stuffed with cream cheese and topped with a delicious pear and cranberry topping. We also ordered a simple two egg sunny side up dish which came with toast and you choice of hash browns or grits. I had the grits that were absolutely delicious! They were creamy and soooo... good.
