Unfortunately, the experience at The Eagle was something I do not want to relive. We sat at the bar, and the bartender was really dismissive of her patrons. Either she had a solid RBF, or she was just miserable being at work. We sat for around 10 minutes before she asked us what we wanted to drink, and I wiped down our counter space from where previous people had sat prior to us. I used the bar rag that was in front of us since she did not come around. After we got our orders, we waited as other people around us got their food first. I was surprised since we had sat down before both parties, but that was not so much the matter as much as the food completely destroyed our stomachs hours later. I am not sure what it was, but there was no amount of medicine we could take to stop the issues. We had not consumed anything out of the ordinary. One other thing that I thought was off base was the candied bacon. It was cold, as in, it had been sitting out for a while. I get that if they do not want it to serve it hot, but at least warm it up before delivering. It did not add anything to our meal of a half chicken, cornbread, and mac and cheese. We've eaten The Eagle twice. The first time we ate in person and the food was well cooked and tasted amazing. The second time we Door Dashed the food, and unfortunately received food that was clearly overcooked. Sometimes you have to go where everyone else has been. The Eagle is an excellent gastropub. Many have said their chicken is the best and it's on the list for sure. Almost everything on the menu contains chicken but then that is what everyone at the Eagle wants to try. Sides go from pretty standard (macaroni and cheese) to the succotash (which has edamame - Asian fusion). Very casual atmosphere and I did not have to wait at lunch time. Whenever I have people in town, I usually take them to the eagle! I made a reservation and we weren't seated until 30 minutes after which was a bit of a shame. One of the bartenders actually came over to us because we had been standing for so long, and then took the initiative to seat us, which was very kind of him. Our waitress, Abby, was so so polite and helpful. She even sat down and talked about different beers, for my friends who were visiting, and continued to be thoughtful throughout the night. We were able to share a whole chicken for four people and still had leftovers. I usually love their biscuits and really hyped them up but unfortunately they were as hard as rocks that day, which made me very sad. The mac & cheese always slaps. The fries, which I've never had before at the eagle, we're actually phenomenal- I think I am a new convert. The pieces of meat in the collard greens or so hard and tough, I had to spit mine out, but the actual greens themselves are so tender and tasty. We even got lemon drops at the end of the night, which really put a cherry on top to our evening together!! There's lots of high seating and it's pretty cramped, it might be difficult for a person with disabilities to dine comfortably. They also have the option to sit at a "community table" where you share a table with strangers so you don't have to wait as long for a smaller table. It's not a bad experience and I would recommend it to cut down on wait time. Service was good and our waiter took our order in about 5 minutes and we got our food nice and hot. I remember my first visit not long after The Eagle opened. I sat down at the bar and the bartender asked if I wanted a beer or some bacon. I knew I was going to like this place and boy was I right. It has been one of my favorite places ever since. I was using a gift card, so I called my order in, but they do offer online ordering. We got fried chicken, mac and cheese, an order of that amazing bacon and a salad. I always worry with carry out that it won't be as good at home as it is in the restaurant, but man, that chicken is amazing and the bacon is even better than I remembered. Pickup was a breeze. All the employees appeared properly masked. I can't wait to enjoy an evening in this amazing restaurant soon, but the pickup experience was a breeze and really hit the spot for that classic, spicy fried chicken! read more

This restaurant is easily one of my favorites in Cincinnati. The chicken is always on point and has great savory flavors. The spicy honey that goes on top of it is such a treat. On top of that the Mac n cheese I like ordering on the side compliments the chicken really well. I usually get the 1/4 chicken dark meat. The two thighs and a leg is more than enough for me! The staff are friendly and the service is quick. I've never had to wait a long time for my food or for any of the staff to greet me. COVID has definitely taken a toll on a lot of restaurants, but this restaurant is taking all precautionary measures. Masks are required upon entering. There are dividers that separate groups from other groups. If you don't feel like dining in, you can always order to go. I've ordered to-go before and it still tasted the same although the food was slightly colder. Can't really blame the drive it has to go through to reach my place. read more

I am not a fan of hot anything so I wish there was something else as an option instead of hot honey.
