I thought the food here was fantastic and fresh. Love the farm to table concept and that you're on the actual farm. I don't enjoy counter service meals as much as traditional sit down meals, and I found it expensive for a counter service brunch. The cocktails were quick and not well thought through and the bathrooms were dirty. The salad, soup, and sandwiches were great, though. And the atmosphere- can't be beat. It's really a lovely place. You can get it to go and bring a picnic blanket to spread out. People were even getting married there, and we enjoyed taking a walk to the gift shop.

The good: Cute little place! The food...very good! I had the pecan chicken salad n gluten free bread. My husband had the pecan chicken salad on a roll with albondigas soup. We both had iced tea as well. Refreshing. They need to offer simple syrup with the tea. Refills are no charge. We sat outside (only choice) in a sweet little shaded area at picnic tables. Lots of flies. This happened to be one of the last days before their summer closure. There were steady customers, but not too busy. Now for the bad: Our lunch was $54!!! IMHO that is too much! And for that price, they should at least throw a handful of potato chips beside your sandwich. It was a nice experience for us, but doubtful we will return due to the pricing.

I've had this on my list of places to eat. I absolutely love the set up, as well as being outside. What I ordered was a soup. I asked if it was made in house and I was told yes! It was definitely a can soup doctored up with some carrots and pasta. Wasn't what I was expecting at all. The ice tea was freshly brewed and tasty. I'll have to give this place another shot just because I enjoy the outdoorsy nature

Definitely color me 100% unimpressed. I was excited about this after a couple people told me how good it was. First of all the sandwiches are way overpriced. I have no problem spending $15-$20 for a sandwich these days. But then it better be a really good sandwich. These are not I had the chicken BLTDA and there was almost no dates and no Apple. One small strip of bacon. Super light dressing or mayo or aïoli. I can't remember what it was supposed to be. The bread is good. The chicken has almost no flavor whatsoever. It's definitely not cooked with any seasoning at all. And they cut the chicken and big chunks which is awful for a sandwich. If you're gonna make a sandwich with chicken, then slice it into long planks like you with a turkey at Thanksgiving dinner. The chicken completely overrode any other flavors. They were nonexistent. There might've been two or three pieces of apple. I don't think I ever tasted date. The sandwich is poorly designed and put together and it just falls apart, so there's no way to eat it properly. And because of the way it's so light on ingredients you don't taste any of those flavors in most of the bites. A sandwich like that you should taste those flavors in every single bite. Wife had the egg salad which sounded awesome and boy was it not. There's nothing wrong with it. But there's nothing special about it either. And it's $17? How? Again I don't have a problem paying for a great avocado, egg salad sandwich. But it better be really good. Nothing here is good. I know like this sounds like I'm concerned about how much it cost, but I'm not. I'm concerned about how much it cost and not being good. If you wanna charge these prices then you need to hire a much better chef who specializes in wonderful sandwiches

Ok. First off. The lines... for Saturday lunch we waited 1.5 hrs to order and 45 minutes to get the food. What a doozy. I'd only come back during non prime hours. The cocktails were good but all pre-made and poured from a pitcher in the fridge. Ask of our sandwiches were delicious. Idk if it was worth the wait hence the 4 stars instead of 5. The property was beautiful. Lots of picnic tables. Plenty of parking in gravel lot across the street. They do have yard games you can borrow

Delicious food. Beautiful drink options, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic. You order and wait for your food to be called. Picnic benches are available right in the patio of the kitchen and out on the fields of the farm. Great place for families with kids and dogs.

The Farm Kitchen is located at the Farm in South Mountain in Phoenix not far from The Phoenix Zoo and the Botanical Garden. You park across the street from The Farm and the restaurant is only steps away. This is a casual place that serves mostly basic salads and basic cold sandwiches. They also offer some dry goods for sale and fresh baked cookies. You order at the counter, pay and take a rustic table outside, your number is called and you pick up your food from the pick up window. I tried a pecan turkey Waldorf salad ($12.95) The turkey was moist and flavorful and the greens were fresh. I liked the spicy creamy jalapeño dressing that was a little different. They also give you a big chilled metal bowl for your salad. My husband tried a sandwich called The Italian ($12.95). It was filled with thickly cut Italian meats and had a few other things but didn't have cheese. He said the rustic bread was tasty, the meats were not as good as from an Italian restaurant but were still good. I'd give a 3.5.....everything was good. Nothing blew us away...Just solid good in a nice back yard or picnic type of environment.

This casual grab and go lunch spot would be such a good day date! You pick your salad, soup, sandwich, etc. and they pack a picnic basket for you to take to the picnic tables or bring a blanket and you can sit in the grassy area. I didn't eat here but I heard the soups were really good. Would love to come back and try it!

Excellent food served in family friendly setting of a rural farm, yet right in the heart of a city. Healthy meals and great ambiance.

STOP WHAT YOU'RE DOING AND READ THIS--Portillo's at 7200 W Ray Rd in Chandler Has Just Redefined…read more"Heaven on a Plate" with the BIG BEEF DIPPED and That CHEESE SAUCE... OMG! I've had Italian Beef before. I've loved Italian Beef before. But nothing--NOTHING--prepared me for the transcendent, jaw-dropping, flavor-explosion experience that is ordering the Big Beef DIPPED at this Chandler location. If you haven't done it yet, you haven't lived. And if you've had it elsewhere but haven't had it here with their cheese sauce... well, buckle up, because you're about to discover your new favorite thing on the entire planet. From the second you walk into Portillo's on Ray Road, you can smell the magic--crisp sport peppers, rich au jus, and that unmistakable aroma of slow-roasted beef that makes your stomach growl instantly. But the real moment of truth comes when you look that server in the eye and say: "I'll take the Big Beef, DIPPED, LOADED with cheese sauce. And I mean loaded." Watch their face light up--they know. They understand. This is not just a sandwich; it's a ritual, and this location performs it with reverence. Then it arrives. Oh. My. Goodness. The bread is drenched--and I mean perfectly, gloriously drenched--in that deep, savory au jus, so every inch is saturated with rich, beefy flavor. It's not soggy; it's luscious. It's a sponge for joy. And then... the cheese sauce. Sweet, spicy, velvety, liquid gold--it's like someone took pepper jack, dreams, and a touch of heaven and whipped it into a creamy, molten ribbon that cascades over every millimeter of that dipped bread and tender, shreddy beef. The first bite is not just a meal--it's a religious experience. The crunch of the giardiniera, the pop of a sport pepper, the warm, juicy beef, the cheese sauce pulling in golden strands... it's an OMG moment so intense you might actually forget your own name for a second. You'll hear yourself making sounds you didn't know you could make. You might cry a little (happy tears). You might order a second one before you've even finished the first. And here's the thing--the Chandler location executes this with flawless, almost artistic precision. The line moves fast, the staff is smiling, and they don't skimp. They don't hold back on the beef, they don't drizzle the cheese sauce like it's an afterthought--they PILE IT ON with pride. You can tell this team lives for these moments. They're not just serving food; they're delivering pure, unadulterated happiness. Even the atmosphere feels electric--like everyone in the room knows they're about to have their day made. You'll see strangers nodding at each other in mutual respect over their sandwiches. You'll hear "OMG!" echoed across the dining room (seriously). And when you finish that Big Beef Dipped--cheese sauce glistening on every corner, not a drop of au jus left--you'll sit back with a food coma smile so wide it hurts, already plotting your next visit. Bottom line: If you are within 50 miles of 7200 W Ray Rd, you have no excuse. Go. Right now. Order the Big Beef DIPPED with EXTRA cheese sauce. Thank me later. And maybe bring a napkin--because that cheese sauce is so good, you're going to want to lick every last drop off your fingers. Five stars? Try FIVE OUT OF FIVE STARS PLUS A STANDING OVATION! This is the best sandwich I've ever had in my life, and I'm pretty sure it's illegal to be this good.

Grilled chicken is an add-on, which I paid for, so that was frustrating. I got back in line to fix it. The remake came with no chicken and no blue cheese, but I'd already put dressing on the first one and could see where someone had picked the blue cheese out. Still no chicken either time. Today I tried the drive-thru. No one was taking orders at the speaker. After about five minutes I pulled up to the window and waited another five. Nobody came out or acknowledged me, so I left. I get why other Portillo's locations have lines around the block and this one doesn't. It feels mismanaged and like the staff just doesn't care. Shorter, review-site friendly version Two bad visits in a row at this Portillo's. 1. Ordered a chopped salad with grilled chicken, no blue cheese. Got blue cheese, no chicken. The remake had no blue cheese but still no chicken, and you could tell the cheese had been picked out of the original. 2. Drive-thru today: no one at the speaker for 5 minutes.
