Needed a breakfast spot to start our day in North Shore. This was the perfect find. We got to feast on island specialties, with great service, at a reasonable cost in a prime location. The Moco Loco with 24 hour braised short rib is legendary. The lobster Bennie was probably the best constructed lobster Benedict we've ever seen. This wasn't tail meat kids, this was the knuckles! Let's keep this review simple. Me and my wife have not been to every restaurant on the island but I'd be surprised if this wasn't the best restaurant in the entire island chain. We got the kimchi fries as a starter and the quality of kimchi is superb. Just an amazing starter. Then we got the spicy Korean pork skillet and I'm not exaggerating when I say it's the best thing we've had at a restaurant since our last visit to a Michelin star rated restaurant in Sorrento a couple years ago. That gochujang deeply marinated pork shoulder lives in my head rent free and it seriously makes us want to go back to Oahu just to eat here. Great staff and vibe too. Jay (server) and Juliette (General Manager) made the experience. We were very impressed that they were genuinely interested in hearing our feedback. Juliette even sat down with us and asked for specific areas of improvement. Upon sharing a few minor things with her, she promised us that the next time we came back, those suggestions would be implemented. Let's start with the food! I experienced my first Hawaiian Loco Moco and it was scrumptious. I opted for the vegetarian option Okinawan sweet potato, black bean katsu and Japanese curry gravy. I added two eggs over medium and it did not disappoint. I ordered a pineapple mimosa which waitress ensured was made to my liking. The atmosphere was a straight laid back beach vibe complete with surfing decor. That family sitting next to us offered suggestions for off the beaten path, non-tourist activities. So me and my husband rarely go out for breakfast but he knows I like breakfast food so we decided to visit Haleiwa in hopes of finding a nice spot . I've never written a review but after this experience I had to , just to warn people expecting a nice eatery . From the outside everything seems like it's an elevated little cafe ... nice art , promising menu , interesting cocktails and even people who look like they know what a nice place is .. Me and my husband sit down and the whole place is covered in flies .We chalk it up to "well this is hawaii" we understand people like to have doors open especially in this little beach town . I mean why have the option to eat inside anyways ? A little counterintuitive. So, okay...the flies are annoying but we stick around . I ordered the bibimbap .. for a place that touts asian fusion it seems like the person that created this menu doesn't understand that it's a food that is to be mixed .. in a large bowl . The food came in this tiny piping hot skillet on top of a napkin .. on top of a plate . Now not only was I swatting flies but i had to figure out how i was going to eat my meal . The food was good but honestly it wasn't worth it especially after how much we paid for the experience . We went back and had a completely different experience. The service was wonderful! My husband enjoyed his steak and eggs. My daughter loved the pancakes, bacon and fresh fruit (the pancakes were amazing). Most places don't serve fresh fruit, so this was a delight! I got the avocado toast with fried egg. Other than a little too much of the sauce, it was fantastic. I loved the little bit of heat! We will definitely go back and recommend it to those visiting the Haleiwa area! read more

Biggest regret ever! Read the reviews & got scammed basically! Came in for breakfast, we ordered 2 Hale'iwa breakfast plates with "over easy" eggs, Portuguese sausage for one plate & bacon for the other, ube pancakes, and lemongrass fried rice... 1) my yolk was not over easy, it was broken and cooked 2) my 1st bite of my egg was crunchy and hella salty, almost like I just ate a whole pinch of salt 3) bacon was too crispy and salty 4) our toast was blacker than black , hella burnt yet soggy 5) lemon grass fried rice was too sour 6) Ube pancakes needed more sauce and berries 7) bottom pancake was salty Idk if the cook this Sunday morning was having a bad day or was a trainee but whatever it is, quality of the food was definitely not it at all. Service was amazing! Employee's were sweet but that does not make up for the quality of the food given how expensive this place also is! My baby even had a hard time eating the food bc he didn't like it. We would've been better off eating breakfast at McDonalds! I'm a local in there area. Been here a couple times for breakfast and lunch and at the bar a few times as well. Food is amazing and service is fantastic! As for the drinks too, good flavors! The avocado toast is really good. And the kimchee fries! For my drink I had the easy fixx. Had ube cream in it which made it taste so good. They've only been open to the public for 24 hours and we've already been twice, it's just that good!! We loved everything we ordered - the ube pancakes with orange anglaise and avocado toast at breakfast, and the smash burger + fries (I could eat a bucket of the fries) and tender kalbi rib plate at lunch - but can't wait to try even more off the menu because it all sounded delicious. In an area dominated by shrimp trucks was this gem! My wife and I are gluten free and this place drew us in with their clearly labeled items on the menu. We got the kimchi fries (incredible), Caesar salad with chicken (yum), and lettuce cups (wow, these were shockingly good). Fries were crispy and perfectly dressed, Caesar was simple and fresh, but man o man the lettuce cups... I've never been impressed by lettuce cups but these bad boys were phenomenal! Seasoned to perfection with a little spice and the texture was crispy and delightful. Highly recommend checking this place out and have a nicer experience while visiting the north shore. read more

was up on the North Shore and getting hungry. wandered into The Fixx for a late lunch. was immediately surprised at how affordable the prices were! our server was relaxed and kind. it's typical of many newish local food places where the doors are swung open and there's a chicken cleaning up after whatever the kids spilled. only issue was one pesky fly. i wish chickens ate flies! i chose the Local plate with Kalbi, kimchee mac salad and rice. again surprised to see 7 bones of L.A. cut kalbi! i expected only 3 bones for $22. was unsure of the need for kimchee in the mac salad but it was perfect with the tender, freshly grilled beef. it was one of the best meals i had on the island. read more
