Came on a weekday and sat down to an empty restaurant. Server took a while to come over but when she did the rest of the meal was spot on. Her service was top notch along with her cheerful attitude. Portions were big and food was hot and delicious. My kids had some nauseatingly sweet pancakes which were as described but impossible to eat more than a few bites. Me & my cousin tried this location Sunday around 11:38a. It took a lil bit to get our food as they were very busy. They actually brought us a biscuit since they were aware our food had taken longer than expected. But the food was worth the wait. The grits melted in my mouth. I didn't even know I liked grits like that. The bacon was cooked just right. The biscuit was fluffy and baked to perfection. The French toast was yummy. They're seemed to be lots of teamwork among the employees. Everyone we saw was busy. It was a lil breezy since they sat us by the door but the good food made me forget about that. As a long time customer of the Flying biscuit in other locations, this visit was a complete dissapointment from start to finish. We arrived at 9:30AM on a Thursday and no one was up front to greet us even though they had nearly as many staff as they had customers. After 8 minutes of no one coming over to the table, I went and asked if anyone was assigned to our table. She appologized and set off to find our waitress who helped the table next to us 2 times during the process. Cleary no internal communication is happening here. She asked for our drink or to which I replied, we are ready to order. We ordered fresh OJ, coffee, and a latte for our meal, I ordered the clasic chicken and waffle, she ordered the oh my grits bowl. At 16 minutes into being in a virtually empty restaurant, our drinks finally came. The oJ was not even remotely tasty, this can happen so not ready to judge just yet. Next our meal came, now I am ready to judge. The very soft not crispy waffle was not even luck warm as was the overcooked fried chicken tenders on top. The grits bowl was just ok way too many grits as compared to the add ons and luke warm. Her biscuit that came with the grits looked good crispy on the outside but doughy on the inside not cooked long enough. The coffee and latte were good. Our waitress also apoligized as we were leaving as well. So many people working here and the experience was bad. I am not one to write off a place on the first try but, with another flying biscuit in Norcross, I think the drive is worth it. read more

Parking was easier than expected. Everything inside is nice and new. We were seated quickly for party of six (20 minute wait). We were excited to come for my bestie's birthday brunch. She loves the Flying biscuit, but has not been in years due to location. This was to be a treat to start her birthday. All started well until out waitress, Kedre, came to the table. From first meeting she seemed to be in a horrible mood. So much so that my daughter, made a comment "she acts like she hates being here". Most of our food came out at the same time, with the exception of the birthday girls stuffed French toast. We tried to get our waitress's attention a few times and were finally able to get another servers attention. Not one full moment after receiving all of our food, out waitress walked by and dropped the bill on the table. Made a to go order online, only to be told rudely by the waitress that it was canceled because they were so busy, after I had already arrived there. She said I should have received a notification of the cancellation, but I did not. I then asked the waitress if I could place a Togo order since I was there in person, and was still told no and turned away. I could tell they were extremely busy and understaffed, but the waitress was rude, talked to me with her back towards me half the time, and did not apologize. I was not helped whatsoever. Every thing went well at The Flying Biscuit! Our waitress was amazing, the food was delicious, and the restaurant itself is so cute! Very vivid colors and good atmosphere. My son, who is 3, thought that he'd actually see a "flying biscuit" because of the name, and our waitress told him it was just the name of the restaurant.. a few minutes later, our wonderful waitress & the manager came over, asked my son if he wanted to see a flying biscuit, then proceeded to throw a biscuit back and forth to each other! Why, oh why am I always disappointed by Flying Biscuit? I keep hoping for better biscuits. They've gotten better over the years, but I'm a Popeyes biscuit eater. It wasn't the usually busy time so I got seated rather quickly. But where the heck was my waiter? Took forever to just get greeted and then to get coffee. Food took just as long and it was ok. Waiter never came back and asked how it was going. It continues to be a big fave with ppl but I'm afraid I have been disappointed for the last time. We visited on 7/28/2023, we arrived at around 8:30am. Food is definitely not something to write home about. I ordered the eggs bennedict, and the sauce didn't even resemble hollandaise. One of my eggs was overcooked. The grits were ok, but again, not much flavor. The potatoes were on point and well seasoned. Generally it was not bad, but not good either. The server we got was not in the best mood, and not feeling very helpful either. The rest of the servers looked happy, but ours looked like she was just inconvenienced to be there. Went in on a busy Saturday with a friend from out of town. After a short 5 minute wait we were seated. I love the one on Piedmont and was excited to try this location. If you've ever had the grits or biscuits, you know how good they are. The server came to take our order and informed me they were out of grits. I was pretty disappointed and ordered the chicken and waffles. Our food came out. The chicken was pretty good and waffle was delicious. After a few bites in, our server came out with 2 small bowls of grits to enjoy with our meal. I was impressed by how she went the extra step to make our meal the best. Came here on a busy Sunday. I was in a party of 3, the front desk person said it was an hour wait. Ok, no problem. Once we were called in I can immediately tell they were understaffed. It took the waiter a good 10 minutes just to notice us. Luckily once we got our orders in the food came out pretty shortly. The food was pretty solid breakfast food, the main concern I had was the drink. What kinda place has soda fountains, and charge for refills?!? I had one glass of Coca cola, and had asked for a cup to go and got doubled charged on my receipt. I had to ask the waiter about this because it looks like a mistake but he assured me it was accurate. I'm just so bewildered at how an establishment can already overcharge for a soda, and then have the audacity to charge for a refill. Even fast food restaurants give refills for free.
