My husband and I had brunch at The Flying Biscuit Cafe on Wednesday, Christmas Eve, and everything was absolutely delicious! It brought back memories of the last time I dined at one of their locations in Atlanta some years ago. We both ordered the Smoked Salmon Scramble which comes with three scrambled eggs with chopped wood-smoked salmon and dill cream cheese. We both decided to get the moon-dusted potatoes and I ordered a side of grits. I asked for the hollandaise sauce to be put on the side of my potatoes instead of on top, and my husband opted out of the sauce altogether. The sauce added a nice touch, it was very tasty. The dish also came with their infamous fluffy flying biscuit that comes with your choice of butter or cranberry apple butter, or both. The cranberry apple butter is delicious. We were seated right away. For the day before Christmas it wasn't busy at all. Our server was so friendly and helped us to decide on what to get and she was spot on! Everything was great. It's a very casual atmosphere. A place where you can get a great meal and sit and socialize when you're done.

Finally got to try h to e Flying Biscuit Cafe near Memorial Mall. Unfortunately it was a lackluster experience. We'd both experienced Flying Biscuit in Atlanta and had high hopes for this one, but unfortunately it fell flat. I ordered the eggs Benedict. And what can I say? I hate to be critical but honestly there was nothing good about this meal except the fact that it was edible. The eggs came out raw/extremely runny. I've had eggs Benedict many times and I understand how it can be difficult to prepare. But it shouldn't be raw. When I let them know, they brought me back basically like a boiled egg, which is also not eggs Benedict lol. The hollandaise sauce was also not the best. Hard to describe why but was kind of lackluster. Next came the grits. Grits were kind of pasty. Maybe because I'm from the south and know what they should taste like if you're gonna call them "creamy". They were also overly salted along with the potatoes that I got instead of the grits. Potatoes were not really seasoned, but just salty. So overall, I was kind of disappointed with my experience here. As I mentioned, the food was edible. The bread that the Benedict came on was pretty good. It may be that this is just something I shouldn't order here. Maybe I should've went with the biscuits! We'll see if we end up trying it again. There's so many amazing brunch places in Houston, most likely not but you never know! Lots of people love this place and I'm sure there's good reason.

Avocado Boat (half)

It's been awhile since I paid a visit to The Flying Buscuit. I decided to visit on a weekday morning, a time that doesn't attract many remote workers and youngsters, but with the hospital across the street, I figured I'd see a few people seeking a reprieve from medical air and clinical food. While I was easily the youngest patron dining and clearly not their usual audience, I didn't mind. Sadly it seems like reasons one of their diners did- an older gentleman with an incredibly uneven table refused to move to the clean, balanced table near me. Anyways, I came for food, so here's the skinny on the eats. I ordered my og Honey butter chicken and waffles, and while I asked for Nashville tenders I was not upset to see I received the honey butter variety. The chicken itself is crisp with hints of cumin, and the waffle has more butter than should ever be consumed in one sitting. Apart from the waffle sog that sets in immediately, the dish itself does the job. I also tried the avocado boat half and yogurt with honey and fruit. These two were pretty standard, but the avocado boat with sauce on the side would make a great way to get in some healthy fat. While I cannot eat this type of cuisine regularly, I may be back when I crave their rendition on chicken and waffles.

We tried this place today and we loved it, food was good, eggs cooked perfect, grits creamy, it was all so tasty. The service was great and very friendly, cute place, we went at noon on a Friday so it was quick to get a table. I imagine the weekends might be pretty busy. We can't wait to get back. Also, I have to mention, the bathroom was clean.

My brother invited me to have breakfast here on a Sunday morning around 9:30 am. This was my first time trying Flying Biscuit. There was spacious parking in the complex. It was busy inside but we were immediately seated. The murals on the wall immediately caught my attention. Really cool to see every inch decorated including the ceiling. Our server was nice and patient with our group of 6 which included 2 young kids. I like how there was a tv with a Shrek movie playing which is helpful to keep kids occupied while waiting for the food! We got the French toast & buttermilk pancake entrees from the kids menu and substituted the chicken sausage for the bacon. There was a mistake with one of the kids' orders when it arrived with bacon but our server immediately helped to correct the order, which I appreciated! The kids also shared a hot chocolate. For the adults, we got the sausage, egg, cheese biscuit sandwich & the bacon biscuit sandwich. Both with moon dusted potatoes. My sis-in-law was able to customized her omelette, which was accommodating! Overall, everyone enjoyed the meal which all came out pretty quickly. The kids enjoyed their meals except for the chicken sausage. The pancake was perfectly fluffy. I like how they use whip cream to make a smiley face. I thought the breakfast was good but the biscuit was easily crumbling and on the dryer side than what I would prefer. The potatoes were decent!

The Flying Biscuit Cafe is an eclectic, high-volume, low cost breakfast restaurant. The interior is bright and whimsical making it very inviting. There were over 100 folks in the restaurant at breakfast with customers going in and out at a pretty rapid pace. There is a definite division of labor - Wait staff take the order, some from the kitchen delivers the order to your table and the cleanup crew cleans the tables at the blinking of an eye. Rachel, my server, was personable and helpful in suggesting popular items on the menu. She also offered me a cup of ice water to go...nice touch! I ordered a sausage biscuit with grits combo. Both were quite tasty. The biscuit tasted like it could have been made from Grandma's kitchen, however, it was a bit soft and fell apart as she ate it. It was nevertheless, quite tasty. It important to note, I asked why the restaurant was called the Flying Biscuit and no one seemed to know.

Food was Great ! Liked the decor and service was great ! Look them up for breakfast while in Houston ! Did not expect for it to be sooooo good! Everything was good! This is off the beaten Path but it's worth driving too. Definitely hit them up for breakfast while! Only open until 2pm so get here early.

Great breakfast! We stopped in here after church and we're very pleased with the experience. People were very nice and the food was amazing! Great biscuits were just the beginning. I had an omelette that was very, very good. She even offered to bring me some avocados since I am currently eating keto and could not enjoy the potatoes which I'm sure were very good. I had to sample a tiny piece of the biscuit, which was delicious. The first round of coffee wasn't great, but we mentioned it and she brought us some fresh coffee that was very good. Recommended if you are in the memorial mall area in Houston.

Recommend reservations on the weekends. Atmosphere was nice - family oriented - can accommodate groups. Seating (with a reservation) was prompt, and service was good. Food was delicious! Recommend the bloody mary to add to your weekend breakfast + the moon dusted potatoes!

Went on a Saturday morning and had a great experience. The menu is extremely extensive so there is definitely something there for everyone. We ordered the Tropical Mimosa and the bellini for drinks and got the three amigos tacos, the piedmont omelette, and a side of French toast to share. The tropical mimosa tasted like a typical mimosa with a slight hint of pineapple at the end (5/10) and the peach bellini was a bit sweeter and reminded me of the barefoot peach moscato (5.5./10). Both were pretty standard and comparable to other brunch drinks that I've had. The 3 amigos tacos were super filling and I really enjoyed the fact that it came with a side of signature hot sauce, salsa verde, and queso. The corn tortillas were fresh, though I wished that I added a protein because I felt like the chicken chorizo was not super prominent in the dish. Additionally, I was a big fan of the moon dusted potatoes. They were crispy and well-seasoned. (6/10) The piedmont omelet was a standard and comparable to others I've had. (6/10) The grits were creamy and the perfect consistency (7/10) and the biscuit was soft and buttery (6.5/10). The French toast was good, however the honey cream anglaise and the raspberry sauce made it a bit too sweet for me, but it is served on the side so you can definitely eat it without the sauces. (5/10) Overall, the service was good, the food portions were huge (I ate my breakfast tacos for the next two meals), and parking is easy to find. I would definitely come again to try more! If you are looking for brunch with a southern hearty twist I would recommend!

Nice welcome in. It was full but I didn't have to wait for a spot since I was by myself, I got seated as soon as I walked in. I ordered Steak and Eggs and mimosa. I asked for well done, scrambled eggs and it came with creamy grits and one biscuit. It was taking a while to get my food. The waitress came over and kindly apologized that they had lost my order. She explained so nicely and said they would give me the mimosa with no charge. I got my order and it was just as I requested. I don't eat steak often but I was craving it and it was well done and not dry. The eggs were nicely scrambled and the biscuit was good, the creamy grits was ok. My favoritetype of grits is the thick texture but it was ok. I ate it all. I like the cute tables.

Restaurante was probably ¾ full. Server was really night and attentive, I do wish I remembered his name so I could've mentioned him specifically. We decided to get the chicken fried steak and salmon Benedict (I could be wrong on the name for the salmon item). Didn't wait too long for food, maybe 20 minutes? Honestly it was quicker than we had expected, didnt feel long so we were happy. The steak entree was huge, I was not expecting it to be so big and to basically be laid on top of a bed of fries. I loved the gravy that came on top of it, especially the added bacon bits. Fries were good too! I had plenty to take home of both thats for sure. My fiance did enjoy his meal as well! Both plates were big. We did enjoy a coffee afterwards as well and those were a big serving as well. Good experience and hope to be back soon. The decor and ambiance was really nice, im glad that even though the restaurant was quite busy it was never "loud" in there.
