So I have been going back and forth about how to rate this. A 3 or a 4 star. I decided to go with a 3. I'll be honest the location is super dope. You walk into the 5 guys and walk all the way to the back and look to your left and you will see the staircase to the bar. Look the inside is pretty cool. The selection of music was GREAT. But the service wasn't that great and neither were the drinks in my opinion. I can't remember the name but the best thing I ate was something very adjacent to an espresso martini. Everything else was underwhelming. For the price point there are better cocktail bars in this area IMO. read more

This is a cool, little speakeasy that's hidden upstairs inside of Five Guys. It's a treat for first-timers as they're wondering why they're inside a Five Guys. Just head all the way to the back. It wasn't too busy when we arrived since it was early, but there was a security by the time we left as they started getting ready for a line. The space is cozy and chill with booths, bar, and some lounge seats. I had the 3AM in Ktown ($22) and Green Juice, But For Adults ($21). The cocktails are creative and colorful. The best part is that they allow you to bring outside food to the bar, which is such a treat considering how much good food is in West Village. Located above the Five Guys, you would definitely miss it by just walking by (be sure to actually enter through the Five Guys and head to the back). We came here with a group of friends, and they had a nice intimate seating area by the bar with a large couch and a few tables. I went with a classic Cosmo and it was stellar! However, they have plenty of speciality drinks on the menu to pick from. The bartenders were excellent and I was always served quickly! Fun little bar hidden above Five Guys. My friend had recently tipped me off to this spot, so when I was in the area decided to check it out. The entrance is actually inside the Five Guys, which was a little bit confusing at first. The stairs are in the back of the restaurant near the kitchen. The bar itself isn't too large, with a main area and a separate smaller room with seating. When we arrived at around 7:30 pm on a Wednesday there were 2 seats at the bar left. It looks like you can also reserve tables. The bartender was great-- super fun and friendly. I opted to try the Stanley Tucci Was Wrong, which was delicious! Light, bright, and full of flavor I'd definitely order it again. My friend got The Benny, which was basically a milkshake haha. You can order food from Five Guys and bring it up, which is what we did. Who doesn't love Cajun Fries?! Pro-tip, order via the app so you don't have to wait. This place is very relaxing and has so much natural light from the skylights and surrounding windows. There's a back lounge area that would be pretty awesome for small groups. I also admire the quirky idea behind the bathroom door using a bundle of door knobs to trick patrons from finding the actual knob out. I've been here a few times, once pre-pandemic in early 2020 and most recently about a month ago on a Saturday night. The bar I remember from 2020 was more of a quaint speakeasy vibe, with expensive but NYC-priced cocktails on the menu, as fancy as their price point. When I came back, I was shocked to be charged over $60 for 3 shots (not top shelf liquor). I would absolutely recommend against ordering drinks here, and this price point makes me not want to come back at all. The clientele on a Saturday night is very much early-mid 20s, so I'm confused how these prices match the ambiance. Look for the neon FOX FACE sign above the Five Guys on the corner of Bleecker Street and 7th Ave South... that's the window of a R&B bumpin' cocktail bar. Mind you - no food - because why? It's above a Five Guys burger joint. Walk right in towards the counter to order, and to your left you will see the bathrooms.... hook a left and you'll find the hidden stairs to enter. Right when you walk up, it's opens to the main room. It seats about 12 at the bar, with a few tables for parties of 2-4... plus an lounge seating near the window and a small adjourning lounge tucked behind the stairs. It's a tight fit, however has a welcoming and home-like feel. I had The Beatles at Shea, which has Drambuie AND Ardbeg... however it was delightfully smoky and sweet! Extremely well balanced. My friend had the Monico's Television Debut, which has two types of Rum included. When I went at around 3:30pm on a Sunday afternoon, Tthe music was at a manageable volume for conversation to be heard and music to be hummed. Loved the atmosphere. If you are allergic to dogs, they do let (what I am assuming are service) ones inside...which can be a bit frustrating considering how small of a place. Me and my daughter was recommend, when we came in, the door was "pull" not a push.. my daughter pushed the door, couldn't open, she tied again, still not pushed open.. we said, okay, maybe there's another entrance. The security guy refused to allow us in because he said that my daughter was kicking at the door, which is completely a lie! I loved each table having a charcuterie box already pre made since they don't have a kitchen. Nyc requires food be served- not sure how much it added to the bill but it was so cute. My friend and I decided to check this place out, and it's a cool looking bar. I read that weekends are packed so we came on a weekday, and it wasn't packed. We were able to get seats and chat. The bartender was cool, but the drinks were just okay. When I go to a speakeasy the drinks are usually special cocktails and what not. But they seemed to have basic drinks/cocktails. Visiting NYC for a conference and some local friends said they wanted to take us to a speakeasy that was located inside a Five Guys. It's hard to turn down such an offer, so on a Monday night we checked it out. *SPOILER ALERT*: you literally enter the Five Guys, walk all the way to the front like you're going to order something, then turn left, where a doorman checks your IDs before allowing you upstairs to enter. For a Monday night it wasn't too crowded and we found spots at the bar. The drink menu was eclectic and I liked the funky names for the cocktails. There was a little lounge area towards the back that was occupied when we went but this seems like it would be a fun place for a larger gathering. The bartenders were actually friendly and interactive (unlike other NYC bars) and I very much appreciated the soundtrack of early 2000s hip-hop. Overall I had a great time at this "hidden" bar and would definitely check it out again. read more
